Joseph Ackerman Marble And Tile Restoration

On 2/5/15, we contracted Joseph Ackerman to fix loose floor tiles, repair grout & regrout, and grout stain our floor tiles in Deltona, FL 32725. We gave him a $200 deposit by check. He came to do the job on 2/9/15. He told us he would give us a discount for paying the remainder in cash. Foolishly we did. After he supposedly completed the work we were told not to walk on the tile for 24-36 hours so the glue could set. We did not know until the next day that he did not fix the loose tiles at all. The tiles were still loose & the grout was still cracked and missing in spots. All he did was grout stain the existing grout. After repeated unanswered phone calls we used a friend's phone with a different number to which he answered. We feel this shows he was avoiding us. He reluctantly agreed to come on Friday 2/13 to do the contracted job. He failed to show up or call. We called again on Saturday 2/14, again using a different phone. He agreed to come back on Monday 2/16. He did show up this time. He said he did glue the floor the first time but sometimes it requires a second application of glue. Upon watching him doing the job this time, it was obvious that he didn't do the job at all the first time, lying right to our faces. This requires drilling the grout, injecting the glue, and regrouting. He again told us not to walk on the floor for 24 hours. The next day we saw that he did not fix the loose tiles, left holes in the grout, and did not do what he was contracted for. The tiles are as loose today as they were before contracting him for this job. We feel he is deceptive & fraudulent in his practices, and did not complete the job. We told him we would only give him one more chance to do the contracted job. He did not live up to it. He charged us $895 minus $25 for paying in cash. The quote for just repairing the tiles was $495. The rest was for grout staining, which he did a shoddy job at best, and the grout stain washes off. We sent him a certified letter which he refused. We would like a refund for this incomplete and shoddy job, of $870. We would settle for just the $495 for the quote for the fixing of the loose tiles.
