I can really only describe the debacle by listing the steps we've been through so far: 1. Order LVP (luxury vinyl planking) flooring. Not cheap - $3,500. 2. Delivery day, they send one man. Says he can’t possibly get the baseboards up here (4th floor, as told to the salesperson) because they’re too long. We call and say then take it all back. They say if they do, we pay restocking and delivery, and they’ll get the baseboards up here. 3. So the guy loads all 1,200 lbs of flooring on one cart, smashes the tile in the elevator. Home Depot refers us to a third party insurer, saying this is between them and us? We assumed HD was delivering! 4. Next day they send a guy out who carries the baseboard up the stairs, no problem. 5. Then the installers come. Rip out all the carpet, THEN tell us our moisture level is 26%, highest they’ve ever seen, vinyl planking will never work. BUT they say THEY, on the SIDE, install tile for one dollar less per sq foot than home depot, and will be happy to do the job. 6. We call Home Depot, rat the guys out, they send their head tile guy out. HE gets a 0% moisture reading, which makes sense because we’re on the fourth floor. But HE says we have “post tension cabling” in the floor. These are cables through the cement which are stretched to 33,000 pounds to strengthen the floor, apparently common in multi-floor condos. Says he’d need to grind the floor to level it, but you can’t do that to PTC floors. 7. So they say they'll pick up all the uninstallable flooring. BUT...they charge us $432!!!! $287 to remove the carpet, $50 to move the two chairs and end tables to remove the carpet, and $100 DELIVERY! And they would not budge, even through we’re concurrently spending $16,000 on a new kitchen with appliances! The "expeditor" Wendy does agree to use the $100 delivery fee to fix the tile (which they broke). However, we can't seem to get anyone out here how. The "expeditor" Wendy says she can't schedule the tile guy, so we have to "keep bugging him." So, we’re out $432 and living on a cement floor. Postnote - today, we returned a garbage disposal we purchased as part of the $16,000 kitchen because it turns out there is a new one in the condo. Customer service credited us for the wrong item - $7.99 for a strainer. Our bad - we trusted they had credited the correct $99 item from the work order; their bad - they will not back off even though they now have our $99 garbage disposal and we still have the $7.99 strainer. I even joked with the cust svc rep that she should email us the receipt because $99 would buy a lot of lunches if she kept it!. Cancel the $16,000 kitchen you say? Nope. HD has that covered. We had 3 days to cancel, now we're on the hook to their credit card company for the entire $16,000. This is no longer the Home Depot from This Old House days.
Description of Work: Flooring - vinyl planks.

Description of Work: Contacted Home Depot for an estimate for kitchen cabinet refacing and backsplash installation. Estimater arrived promptly and my first impression was favorable. However, he gave me an estimate that was more than twice as much as I ended up paying another contractor who also provided additional services/repairs. The Home Depot estimater became very high pressure and almost rude when I balked at the price he quoted. I purchase things from Home Depot all the time, but I would never contact them for a quote for anything again.

I would not recommend them. I am an old guy with a bad back and the installer guy would not move any furniture. My wife and I had to move it. They had two guys and we had three pieces of furniture left to move. I told them we can't move these because of my back and they just said, 'Well, we don't move furniture' We did use them for a lot of things and were happy with them before so you can't really blame home depot because they were more subcontracting and it was terrible. I love Home Depot. They are a great company. My wife was just there yesterday and they loaded everything in the car for her because she can't do it. But for this service, its an F. They were on time and they did their work on time. They showed up exactly when they were supposed to do.
Description of Work: We used them for carpet in the living room, dining room, and hall.

The initial visit to show options and quote a price went very well. The representative from Home Depot was very professional and did an excellent job of helping us to select the best solution for our home. The installation crew was on time and very professional. They did a good job installing the new gutters and cleaned up all of the old material.
Description of Work: Removed old gutters and downspouts and replaced with new.

Not only did the door installer never contact me at all and the store had no follow up either. I could have gone to a closer Home Depot but was assured that it didn't matter be cause the installer serviced the entire area. Very disappointing. .
Description of Work: the staff assured me that they had a wonderful responsive door installer and I would be contacted within 24 hours. He mentioned that the contractors must be prompt to call customers or they drop, them.

The carpet and installation was done in a reasonable time. They cleaned up well afterwards too. The workers showed up on time to the installation and were very fast to schedule it once the carpet came in.
Description of Work: I ordered a Berber style carpet from them and they installed it in two bedrooms for me. One room is 13 x 12 and the other one is 11 x 12. They did remove the old carpet first.
