Servicing of Window Repair and Changing or Replacing Glass
Sloppy workmanship, broken glass, screws, window parts all around the yard (from old windows). The tarps they used all had holes in them to catch old windows pieces. Broke a corner inside of the most expensive window, had to replace roller wheel on another, refused to put shims in a loose window. Wants to sell us another new window to replace the loose one , broke sprinkler that had bright orange surveyor safety tape I put on so would be would careful. Used wrong color chalk, grey instead of bronze. Chalking on wall inside and out, on tile window sills, back of couch AND even wiped on cat! They have been to our home 4-5 times to repair cheap chalking that keeps drying out and leaving holes and coming back next week supposedly to fix more of there mess. Owner John Tyndal is not a pro nor a businessman. Just a hothead that likes to take advantage of his customers and seniors by cursing, lying, disrespecting- that's what he's a pro at. The worst home improvement project ever. Oh and he will hang up on you, after he finally gets done yelling. It was a wham bam job just over two hours for ten openings. You should see the other reviews online. He has ruined a great company name. WARNING WARNING STAY AWAY

Response from Allied Window Co
Can't respond to majority of these claims as in this review is the first I've heard of it. Office staff said when he came in to pay after completion the only complaint he had was one window was hard to open. Sent someone to look at it and the window was fine, just in an awkward position at the head of the bed. Homeowner would go from side of bed to other side of bed, opening window in a teeter-totter fashion, instead of from the center. Someone else then told him he should've got a horizontal slider there, so he then blamed us for not doing that, but his original estimate was for horizontal sliders and he did not want that, he requested an up-and-down (single hung) window. He still complained about this window so we setup for the manufacturer to go out and check it out. Manufacturer's representative also concluded the window was installed to spec and worked correctly. He still complained about this window, so called him and was going to offer to replace the window with a horizontal slider (free of cost just to make him happy). But then as I'm trying to offer to him, all he did was berate me and blame me for the other window, as if we forced him to buy to the style HE requested. After that, I offered him the replacement horizontal slider at cost (no markup, no labor) just covering cost of the window, as it was not our fault he doesn't like what he ordered. He then said he didn't want a slider, he wanted us to buy a larger bottom sash for the existing window, that is not something that is possible. We cannot help someone who doesn't want to be helped. As for the "grey" caulking, we do not have grey caulk, we only carry: White, Bronze, and Beige. On his job we used DAP Dynaflex 230 "Dark Bronze" color caulk, it is an architectural bronze color. We've had no complaints from others with this caulk.

Well they sent out a guy and he said he was the owner but man o man was he very disrespectful and a hothead. I asked him to leave and he did but a verbal argument kept up and he finally left with us screaming at each other. I would never recommend this company. The guy should be out of business they way he acted.

Yes I JT "The Owner" did go out to the Tuckers, When Mr. [Member Name Removed] asked if I was going to give him his Quote Right Now I informed Mr. [Member Name Removed] that I do all the Quotes on my Computer at the Office. Mr. [Member Name Removed] then Picked Up the Window Brochure and Threw it across the table and Declared "well we are done here". I took that as a clue that Mr. [Member Name Removed] does Not want my Quote or Business. I got up and started to walk out, He asked why and I said we are done here. Allied would Not be doing his Job. Mr. [Member Name Removed] Followed me to my car, then down the driveway, and out in to the Street yelling & calling me a barrage of insults and Cursing at me: "You're a Cu#t" "Your a F#gg#t, why don't you go and suck somebodies d##k". I did then start to exchange words and Mrs. [Member Name Removed] came out to drag him away. There was NO need for any of this to Happen, It was Mr. [Member Name Removed] who is the Hot Head, I was Walking out Quietly before He came at Me.

Great! I could not have asked for a more positive outcome. I want to add that the tech (Gary) has worked on windows for over 30 years and he knew exactly what needed to be done to fix my windows. Thanks, Gary
Description of Work: I purchased 3 large sliders and 14 windows from Allied in 2005. Now 11 years later I am getting ready to sell this house and was having difficulty sliding several of the windows up and down , and I was concerned that this would have a negative effect on the sale. My home is on beachside in Ormond beach so it is understandable that the ocean air would cause some problems after 11 years. I called Allied (using the same phone # I used 11 years ago) and was pleasantly surprised that they still had the same phone #. I looked at my original window file and had a note that J.T. (John Tyndal) had been very helpful making sure that my original installation went smoothly, so I asked for him to give me a call. I was told that J.T. was actually the owner of Allied Windows and the person I reached told me they would give him my message. A few days later J.T. gave me a call (imagine that-a call from the owner!) J.T. told me he would stop by with a tech a see what could be done to help me out. Then Hurricane Mathew hit and I knew J.T. would be very busy taking care of windows broken by the storm and did not really expect to hear from J.T. anytime soon. But on Oct. 17 he called me and asked if he could stop be with a tech on Oct. !9th. He and the Tech (Gary) arrived today right on time and working together fixed all but 2 of my problem windows. They needed some parts to fix these 2 windows and Gary said he would be back when he had the parts. I know they are both swamped with work from Mathew's damage but they still took the time to help out a customer fro 11 years ago. I am writing this lengthy positive review because I feel that J.T.'s response to my problem was way beyond the "call of duty" and I am so relieved that he helped me out today. Really! The company owner caring enough to do this! I would recommend J.T. and his company to anyone needing new windows!

Description of Work: Replaced six windows with double-paned windows and one sliding glass door. Came promptly. Several workmen, finished in several hours. Haven't had city inspection yet, but cannot imagine there will be any problems. |Almost half the price of our other bid from a large home improvement company which advertises out of BJs store. |This is a local company that does nothing but windows and doors for over 50 years.

Description of Work: At them give me an estimate to replace the vinyl windows and put in a new storm door on my lanai at my condo. My 2 neighbors a few doors down had theirs redone for $1,600 and $1,800. Mine didn't require as much material, as I had to concrete walls between my lanai. This company finally gave me an estimate of $1000 more of $2700. And the quote that he gave me did not list a breakdown of the costs of materials and labor. It simply was a List of all the material and then a final cost of $2700. So I had no idea how much the materials or the labor would cost. And he was going to charge me $1000 more than my neighbors! I would never recommend them. Some work they did for me replacing a window previously, the woodworking around the frame was shotty, and I add to repair a lot of the wood myself after the fact.

Description of Work: Complete replacement of all windows (10) and sliders (3). Two windows were installed with wrong glass, sliders were not tight (had gaps that let sunlight & heat in), left house and grounds with dirt and glass (picked up shards up to 7" from my yard), damaged stucco and sills. Job was finally completed, as ordered, after 3 additional service visits. Terrible experience coupled with the most unprofessional and rude treatment by the owner. Can never recommend this company.

Positives: Very good experience. We researched windows for a long time and got upwards of 8 estimates. Allied was by far the most straight forward estimate, detailed, and informative. They have a showroom where you can look at the products and they even showed us the warehouse area in back. We had an excelled contractor they recommended do our front window (we had to repair some rot and siding on the front window so that job was separate). Allied coordinated with the contractor for that window and everything went very smoothly. They have been in the area for the longest time and we feel confident that they will back their windows for the life of the warrantee. Negatives: The caulking on the replacement windows install was a little rough on the exterior. They did not clean the windows very well. However, Allied sent someone out the next day to clean the windows. The bedrooms are a lot cooler/warmer now than before.
Description of Work: Installed replacement windows in bedrooms, bathroom, front room, and kitchen.

The receptionist at the front desk was very friendly and willing to provide a written quote on product cost and a verbal estimate of installation costs. The explanation for the estimate on installation was a company rep would have to visit my home to measure and finalize installation costs. We discussed a bronze aluminum product with the glass being insulated and low E. The screens were to be boxed screens which were recommended for durability. The product quoted was manufactured by PGT and a brochure was provided. The quote for product was $2935.00. I chose another company over Allied simply because upon visiting the chosen company i was able to talk in depth with a knowledgable person who later that day called with a quote. Although the quote was higher I liked the and quot;one on oneand quot; attention and information provided.
Description of Work: The service was a request for a quote for the installation of sliding glass doors. The product needed to be bronze colored as we live in a townhome community. The living room door was four glass panels each 30' X 80" with the two center panels sliding open from the center. The kitchen door was two 36" x 80" panels with the right side panel sliding to the left. Both doors were to also have screens

Allied Window Co is so popular. They have good prices but they don't make their own windows, they buy them. The guy was hesitant to give us information like who did the glass.

I researched window companies and got a couple of estimates. Allied was recommended by a friend who had used them to replace her windows and was very pleased with the quality of the result. We decided to not only replace all of the windows and sliders but to install hurricane resistant ones. Allied was one of the more expensive but the quality of the product was amazing (I'd researched the manufacturers and even the inspector said they were one of the best) and we liked the fact that Allied is a local company that has been in business for many years. There was no pressure sales and all questions were answered honestly. The estimator was obviously very experienced and came up with great options for our large window sizes. We decided to go with the hurricane resistant windows and doors as we live beachside and did not want to have to deal with all of the ancillary work and components necessary to pass the permit inspection. The installation was done over 2 days. The installers did an excellent job of removing the old ones and installing the new ones even when they came upon a couple of hidden and quot;surprisesand quot;. They were very neat and only a very small amount of touch up was necessary - amazing considering there were 2 large sliders and 13 windows. We are thrilled with our new windows! The house is unbelievably quiet!! We lliterally don't hear any street noise (unless they're missing a muffler) and have to look outside to see if it's raining! The difference is stunning! They enhance the entire house. One of the best aspects of our purchase has been the unanticipated decline in our cooling costs - we've been saving up to $50/month without changing our thermostat settings! I would highly recommend Allied Windows and their fabulous products. They're not inexpensive but I felt very confident working with them and you definitely get what you pay for and they're worth every penny.
Description of Work: We needed to replace all of the windows and sliding glass doors in our early 1950's house. Many of the windows were original and the newer ones (we don't know when they were installed) all had broken seals and were so cloudy nothing could be seen through them.

The four workers were prompt and in their Allied T-shirts. They installed the doors quickly and we are very happy with the quality of the doors as well as the installation.
Description of Work: We purchased a 16 foot sliding glass door with 4 panels and an 8 foot door with 2 panels. Both sets of doors are low-E and impact glass for hurricanes. They installed the doors in three hours.
