TILE DESIGNS BY ANTHONY

Great! Anthony was recommended by a high end tile shop. I first read his Angie's reviews and then gave him a call. He was quick to respond and came by that weekend to look the job over and give us a quote. He was friendly, confident, and knowledgeable. We felt we were in very good hands. Thankfully, we received and accepted the quote that same day and we were on our way to two new rooms. We arranged a start day and his crew arrived to begin demo of the master. The floor had a very thick mud bed that was applied to bring the bathroom floor height up to the hardwood floors in the rest of the house. It was a more difficult than expected process to chisel through all that, but was all removed within a few hours. Tile work in the shower began the next day, with Justin doing the tile installation. My wife had picked out 1' X 2' white carrara marble for the shower. Every piece was different since it is natural stone. Justin did a fabulous job of picking the right pieces - that takes quite an eye and much experience. We love the shower! The floor was next and we had picked out some marble hexagon sheet tile. Again, major props to Justin for his eye in mixing and matching to give the floor just the right look. He also cut the carrara and made classy baseboards and installed a glass/stone mesh as accent pieces in shower and around window and shampoo niche. The bathroom came out better than we could have ever imagined. Lastly, Anthony has a glass company he uses come out and measure, design and install the shower door. It is beautiful! My wife loves her new bath, which makes me very happy. The guest bath was much quicker and more straightforward. The guys had to remove a claw foot tub, pedestal sink and toilet. Once again, the old floor was removed and the same hex marble sheet tile was installed, this time by Nick, and he as well did a great job installing the floor. Everything was reconnected and now we have 2 new bathrooms we are proud of. Thanks to all involved. We are happy we chose Anthony. As with any job of this nature, there were a couple things that need adjusting, but what sets Anthony apart is that he gladly jumped in and made the necessary changes without stress or conflict. He was very responsive the entire job, usually answering texts within minutes He told us several times he wanted us to be delighted with our choice of him as our contractor, and we are.

Anthony was professional from the initial contact through the completion of the job. The work is extraordinary and we plan on having his company redo 2 bathrooms in our home.

Anthony and his crew installed wood look porcelain tile throughout my house. He removed the old flooring, both tile and carpet and installed the new wood look tile the right way-- in a full mud bed. This is a labor intensive process, and not something that is done in a couple of days. Anthony did one section at a time and patiently moved 30 years of accumulated stuff (including huge wall units) around to keep my house livable while the work was being done. At the end of each work day he marked out pathways so I could avoid stepping on wet tiles. He called or sent a text each night to make sure I didn't have questions or any issues. The young men in his crew have all been with Anthony a long time, some since they were old enough to work. These are not just workers, they're craftsmen and they are family! Such a pleasure to see young men taking pride in their work. Like Santa Claus and his elves, they went over and above to get me finished 2 weeks before Christmas so I could be ready for the holidays. When my painter postponed my start date until after Christmas, Anthony got on the phone and found me a fantastic painter who got it done before the holidays, for less money than the original guy. There is nothing he won't do to make his clients happy.

.WOW! Anthony and his crew turned my dreary 1980s kitchen into the kitchen of my dreams!! I sat down with Anthony and told him generally what I wanted and he made it happen. He suggested using the long back wall of the breakfast nook for narrow buffet cabinets to double my kitchen storage without doing any major construction. He also recommended removing the soffits and improved lighting which opened up the whole area. He reconfigured my center island so I had a more efficient prep area and the kids could get to the fridge without getting underfoot. This man is full of good ideas and simple effective fixes! He certainly knows his stuff. Anthony patiently walked me through the daunting task of selecting tile, granite, cabinets, and lighting, one easy step at a time. He was available for questions, ANYTIME, and responded to my text messages instantly. He managed to do the remodel without too much disruption. He scheduled the messiest part for the week I was out of town. His crew is awesome! Nice, polite, hardworking, young men who know how do things the right way. No shortcuts! I love these guys!

Easy and painless. Anthony and his crew are very helpful, courteous, diligent and aim to please. They were at my house every day (often as early as 8am) until the job was done. I never had to chaise them down (as I did with numerous others over the years). So the job was done very quickly - in 2 weeks. And they stand by their work. After they were done, I found that my bathroom outlet was not working, so I called Anthony. He came out right away and fixed it. And - his bid for the job was one of the best.

We did not hire Anthony for the job.

The work went well. They remodeled the master bathroom shower stall and surrounding area. They replaced the shower pan, removed the old tile, removed the existing walls and replaced them with waterproof wall board and new tile, which we picked out. They removed and replaced the floor tile and also removed and replaced the shower door with a new glass enclosure. The workers were skilled, efficient and polite. We are very satisfied with the finished product.

the price had to be renegotiated because he assumed the we only wanted a thin set when we needed mud set to lay rectified tile evenly. He was very unprofessional when handling the matter and we had to rip out the first 65 tiles to save them in order for the mud set to be laid. The glass tile in the shower came out very nice with the exception of using one tile that chipped from the back. There were many leftover that he could have used instead. Also he had to be called ha k to complete the last tile on the bottom of each side as well as the stair in which he just cemented the sides. The toilet was never bolted down and the shower faucet was leaking like a waterfall as if it was never checked to see that it was installed properly. The grout has many holes in it throughout the whole house. A crew member came back to fix a tile they laid that was broken and fill in grout which he used his finger to fill it in. The holes came back and I was given dry grout in a Gatorade bottle to fix on my own. Overall I would have expected to pay half the price for the job I received. I would not recommend his services.

We had several contractors bid on our job which was an 1,100 sq ft removal and install of modern tile for the first floor of our townhouse. We selected Anthony based on a combination of a prompt estimate, a thorough discussion of what the job would entail and a no BS attitude. He was very straightforward and we like that - everyone else was blowing smoke by comparison. The job wasn't easy. If these remodels jobs were all perfect, HGTV would have no programming material and would be out of business. It was a difficult job under difficult conditions, so Anthony and their crew leaned in to the obstacles as they were presented. The previous install was done by two different people (which was known to us), and one used the correct thin set which came up easily and the other used something akin to concrete. Anthony and crew had an exceedingly difficult removal phase, essentially chipping out concrete with their impact chisels while attempting to preserve the work surface integrity. A DIYer would not have the equipment, experience, incentive, nor have a foreman like Anthony driving the crew to complete this awful phase of the job. Kudos to him and the crew for forging ahead without complaint. Due to the above, Anthony had to float an entire new surface to bed the 9x36 porcelain tile we had selected as the work surface would not accommodate the thin set/notched trowel approach. We've done enough tile on our own to know we would have been way over our heads on this one. Anthony and crew laid out a beautiful pattern, as flat as conditions would permit, working as fast as any reasonable person could expect. That's the thing with these internet reviews - reasonable client expectations. Some of the negative reviews on this page baffle me. Things don't always go perfectly, and yes contractors are pros, but they are human too. Homeowners need to accept their fair share of responsibility by staying involved in the process. If you don't like any element of the job - let your contractor know about it in no uncertain terms. This will give them the opportunity to make it right to coin a famous phrase. Anthony tolerated three adults, all with our own expectations and suggestions, peering over his and his crew's shoulders at every turn doling out extra requests as the job progressed. They kept their smiles, and we kept up the banter, and it all worked out. The bathroom remodel also wasn't easy, but Anthony made elegant suggestions about design that we had not considered, so letting him lead on that worked out very well. The bathroom turned out beautifully, with a raised ceiling (tough to do in a townhouse) and a more efficient lay out, completely modernized. Two weeks after the job's completion, we had an unrelated problem with an upstairs bathroom leak. Our first call was to the remediation experts, but when it came time to fix the issue we turned to Anthony without hesitation. As of this writing, he has finished up another bathroom remodel, also remediating the walk-in shower pan that - yes - another installer had improperly completed a few years ago. No shortcuts with Anthony - straight talk about how to get it done correctly, at a fair price. Reasonable people can't ask for more. I gave them a B rating on professionalism, but that is really only a B rating on their ability to clean a house as clean as you would do it for yourself. It takes time to clean all of the dust such work can propel throughout your home. If you want total and absolute cleanliness you likely should not remodel in the first place. So, this review is keeping it real by saying expect to do some cleaning yourself. He left the job broom clean as expected, but he is no housekeeper, after all, that is not his trade nor what you are hiring him for. Great job Anthony!

Tile Designs by Anthony remodeled our hall bath. The job turned out spectacularly, the tile work is beautiful. I found Anthony to be someone who is increasingly difficult to find, a tradesman who takes pride in his work. Anthony was responsive to our concerns and worked very hard to make sure the job was finished to our complete satisfaction. The work was completed in a timely manner. We plan to use Tile Designs by Anthony to tile another bathroom. I highly recommend Tile Designs by Anthony.

Anthony and his team were courteous, professional and responsive to our needs. They were careful with the handling and moving of furniture and kitchen appliances. Anthony is a hands on owner and visited the job site almost every day. We love our beautiful new floors and are very happy with the quality of the installation. Thank you Anthony!

This was an emergency remodel job for my daughter. She just bought a small town house and was moving in when she discovered a huge leak in the bathroom. Since the bathroom was outdated anyway I offered to have it renovated for her. Time and money were both tight, but Anthony was able to accommodate us with his usual good nature and patience. He had some brilliant suggestions to enlarge the tiny claustrophobic bathroom without too much construction or added expense. He even hooked us up with a lovely woman who helped my daughter select tile to achieve the look she wanted without breaking the bank. The final outcome was beautiful. He got it all done on time and in budget. I cannot say enough about how accommodating and patient this man is. Next up, my kitchen. I know Anthony is going to do a phenomenal job.

Tile designs by Anthony was an unpleasant experience. Not only did they start the job late, they finished the job five days later than discussed. Even with the extra time the job was done poorly. They did not install the tiles leveled, they chipped multiple tiles, and the grout lines were all completely different sizes and were not fully filled. To add insult to injury, they left the house a mess; there were hand prints, grout splatters, grout smears, and cement splatter all over the walls. Also dents were left in the walls, shards of tile were thrown all over the backyard, front yard, and living room. Garbage such as cigarettes, cups, and food wrappers were left in the front yard, front patio and the backyard. On the last day of the job we were assured that all the mess would be cleaned, and trusting their word we gave them the last payment, which was clearly our mistake. Anthony came by 03/14/16 to see the job and clean up the excess tiles, but did not want to hear or deal with our concerns. He started an argument with my father in law, he did not address any of the issues we had, and he did not take responsibility for any of the problems. They "cleaned" some of the tiles, but it actually made the tiles more dirty/hazy/unappealing, so we had to clean them...again. Also one of his workers would speak poorly about us and our concerns when they would leave the room. There was no sincerity or apology given in regards to the bad job they did.

I highly recommend Anthony's work. He was great to work with on every level. He is professional, prompt, courteous, clean, and did exactly what we asked for in a timely manner. It is clear from the first time you meet with him that he is very experienced and hard working. He walked into our bathroom and understood exactly what needed to be done, how long the job would take, and sent me a contract within a day. His pricing was very fair. He was not available right away and then we were busy, but we established a start date and he was there at 9 AM that morning with Charlie, ready to work. He kept our house very clean, laying down plastic and paper on the floors to prevent any damage. He and his crew work very efficiently and he kept me updated on the daily progress. It took him 3 and a half days to remodel the shower and install the toilet. He works with a great guy who measured and then 6 days later installed the frameless glass enclosure. His work is seamless. It was not a complicated job but he made it happen exactly as promised. Before he got started I was worried that it would be hard to be home with our two little girls while he was working. He kept everything so clean and organized and the noise was minimal -- it was not an issue at all. I am completely happy with our beautiful, new bathroom and look forward to working with Anthony in the future.

Initially it was difficult to get a locked-in start date, but that is likely due to the fact that he is so highly rated on Angie's List and is booked up weeks in advance. Anthony seems like a stand-up guy who calls it like he sees it. His workers are polite and quite capable at their trade. Overall Anthony and his crew did a nice job. Only concern was that the job took longer than originally anticipated, but that seems to happen with every project. We are considering a bathroom remodel and will likely hire Anthony for the job.

Anthony's operation is FIRST CLASS. His operation is PUNCTUAL, PROFESSIONAL and RESPONSIVE. I would HIGHLY recommend them. WHY am I giving a glorious review to Anthony and his crew? Because they did the job right where other contractors didn't. I'll cut to the chase. I got burned by three contractors that were just horrible for my bathroom remodel. These South Florida contractors will make a good first impression, start the work and then take on a bunch of other jobs and put your project on the back burner. Every single one quoted 1 week, started and work would stretch to 1 month+ before I would have to let them go. I needed someone that could correct all the shoddy work that the previous contractors did. In other words, perform a miracle. After interviewing another 2 contractors, I found Anthony on Angie's list. Anthony showed up on time and was very professional. I told him everything that happened in the past and was very clear: "I need someone that will show up when they say they will, do the job they say they are going to do and finish the job when they promise it will be finished". He quoted me a flat fee to do the whole bathroom. He said he could do it in the time promised and we see signed a contract. Well, his crew showed up on time. They started the bathroom and he personally looked over all details. He also was personally involved in the whole process doing the actual work. He was always in constant contact, keeping me updated and sending photos of progress. They promised in about a week and wow - they did it in about a week!!! There were a few touch ups needed on paint areas, like any job, but they came back immediately the next day and finished that up. Bathroom looked amazing. Loved the tile work and frame less shower door. Anthony is licensed and runs a reputable operation. He has his own crew and holds them to work at high standards. He has been in the business for a while. You can tell he likes what he does and has pride in his work. His pricing is fair and worth every penny. This is your house, you want the job done right and in a timely manner. I highly recommend Anthony.

I sought quotes from may companies to lay the tile. 3 from Angie's List and a few others from shops that sell tile. Anthony's was the only company from Angie's List to respond. Anthony's quote was also among the best pricing from all quotes (about 4 of them). They weren't the least expensive but they were very close. A few things about them made me choose them over others: The quote was free of charge, like many others, but those that did charge to come out and scope the job were excluded. In my experience all tile installers will tile you their starting per square foot instal rate. This allows one to get an idea of cost without having to set up a visit. Anthony's pricing was very competitive so I had him visit my home. His many years of experience, especially when installing cheaper tile ($1.49/sqft, made in China porcelain), left me confident the job would be done to my liking. I wanted 1/16th inch grout lines or less. He said they could do it. Other installers required at least 1/8 inch. He delivered on this promise. He's verbal assurances that his team would be responsive to my requests and would leave the job site until I was happy. The instal team delivered on this promise. His installers have been working for him for years. I measure the value of a company by it's employee satisfaction, not just the personality of the owner and their ability to sell. His friendliness didn't hurt and he seemed very honest and trustworthy. This proved to be true. I didn't know this at the time but when the job was finished he followed up immediately, before his team left to make sure I was happy. He was adamant that I be 100% satisfied while they were still on the job site. He then followed up by stating to let him know if anything arose later to let him know. Definitely doesn't seem like his operation is a get the job done and run. My wife and I plan on purchasing many homes in the future and will be using Anthony again without question.

My outdated bathroom was transformed into a beautiful new look. Anthony and his team were very professional and ensured I was pleased throughout the job. I have another bathroom that I will contract Anthony for in the future.

Outstanding!! Anthony and his team are very professional. Their workmanship is excellent, they arrived on-time every morning, were clean and totally aware of our pets and our needs. They were very polite, had a positive attitude, answered all our questions, and cleaned up their materials each evening. We would definitely use them again and we highly recommend Anthony and his team!!

Had Anthony and his crew remodel my master bathroom. He did such a wonderful job, I just had him remodel a second bathroom. He replaced the bathtub, replaced all the tile, replaced shower enclosure, replaced vanity and all the lighting. The tile is beautiful . Anthony does a spectacular job of tiling. It's perfect! Could not ask for a better remodel project!!!

I was very impressed with Anthony's crew of workers. They were very polite ,came on time and most importantly they cleaned up after themselves. Anthony did all the tile work himself.....and he did a FANTASTIC job! He promised very little grout and he delivered. There was a delay with the shipping of my glass borders (not Anthony's fault) he called me daily with updates. He even works on Saturdays to get the job done. I like the fact that he passed all his "trade" discounts ( example tile and shower door) along to me. My only regret is NOT using Anthony's granite guy for my counter top. He takes care of everything from ceiling to floor. I plan on keeping Anthony very busy with remodeling my master bathroom and laying new tile in my hallway.

Most important, prompt everyday, never missed a day! Anthony was great, gave suggestions as what to choose. The crew was awesome ?.always a good attitude and friendly! Made sure that we were satisfied with the job and experience!

Anthony and his crew are wonderful. Did a beautiful job on the shower and linen closet. All tile work was done very well. Vanity is due to be installed in 5 days. Anthony was honest and very responsive to all requests. His crew were very hard workers and were very nice. Did a beautiful job on all the work done. Vanity to come, but, expect it to be top quality like everything else. The remodel was done much quicker than I expected, which was wonderful. The whole experience has been exceptional. Planning on having him do a second bathroom in March. So glad I found him on Angie's List!

The tiling was very, very well done! He is a nice guy, just some slight communication issues.

.Hollow tiles, grout different color and cracking. Bathroom subcontracted to sombody who was not professional. who did terible job. Mirror in in the corner instead centered over the vanity cabinet, painting is uneven. Behind the cabinet and the toilet he didn't finish painting. Didn't know how to instal a new Kohler toilet I have to call him many times to came back to correct the fob which is still not completed. Last time he didn't showed up or even called. He told me that hollow tiles are normal and it is called voids and that every home has hollow tiles. Response to Anthony response: Nobody ever refused the job for me> I told evey contractor that I had problem before with water coming from under the tiles. I choose Anthony because he told me that he has 25 years experience. He wrote on the contract that if I ever had problem with the water coming he will remove the tile free of charge. This is the reason I removed the tile in the closed and there wasn't much tinset in the middle.. Anthony looks like he is very busy man however he only has very few reviews. He works with people who are not licensed and don't know what they are doing. I invite anybody to see the job Antony did in my house. I want him to replace every hollow tile and properly grout the floor. And finally finish the bathroom which he promised to do. However he never come back. My house is open to anybody who wants to see Antony work.
