I got an estimate, went out of town, and called when I returned to schedule service. I actually spoke to Bob, who said, he was on his was to the shop and would call me. I never received a call before leaving town again. I called and scheduled service again when I came back in town. He was supposed to be at my house between 9-9:30, at exactly 9:30, I called to see where he was. He said he had dental problems and would not be able to come. I understand this, but I would have appreciated a call to let me know he was not coming. He knew he wasn't coming, so why no call from himself or a representative????? Lack of consideration. He did say he would call me after he got out of the chair to let me know how he was doing, and when he could come. I have NEVER received a call. Sorry, two strikes and you are out.....my time is valuable too.

I have had 4 different painters since I moved to Florida a year ago. Some were cheaper, but Bob is the only one that was totally professional and did high quality work. While more expensive than the cheapest, his price is very reasonable for the quality of his work and his level of experience. Bob shows up on time, covers furniture as needed, and did a great job painting including repairing some knock-down finish where I had repairs on the walls in my family room. The previous contractor did not have the right equipment, and the spots were visible until Bob fixed them. Once I met Bob, I was not interested in using the less expensive painters because their work was not of his caliber, and they were not as professional to deal with. For the larger job (i.e., painting all the doors) he brought someone with him and they were very efficient. The doors are beautiful, and I doubt that a less skilled painter could have achieved the same results. He stays until the job is done. He removes hardware when necessary rather than painting around things. He sands between coats when needed as he is a true professional painter. I will continue to call Bob whenever I want quality work. He is very easy to deal with and very comfortable to have in the house.

Bob is a very professional and courteous person. I arranged a time for him to come by to take a look at my wall that I wanted wallpaper installed on. He gave me a quote that was reasonably priced given other estimates I received. We arranged a date that fit both of our schedules to get the paper installed. He called me later to say that another job had run long and we would have to reschedule. When the rescheduled date was approaching he called again to let me know we would have to reschedule again. I was a bit frustrated but confident he would do a good job based on the reviews he has received. He was really sorry for this and apologized on the phone. I understand schedules change and jobs can run long but if I had been in a rush to get this done it would have been a problem and I would have considered someone else at this point. But on the day he said he could make it he called the day before to confirm and finished the installation in just under 2 hours. He brought Chuck with him, I assume he is a co-installer with less experience than Bob, but they both did a pretty good job. I had a problem with my paper that Bob pointed out to me to be upfront about any problems encountered, which I greatly appreciated. Installation looks pretty good, there are a few areas that are not aligned with the pattern but from 6 feet back you can't really notice so I am happy with the job overall. I would hire Bob again to do wallpaper.

We ripped out the crown molding from our bedroom walls and left pretty large holes in the walls. Robert was able to cover the holes we made. There was also two layers of wallpaper in my secondary room that needed removal. Robert arrived on time and got to work immediately. He did an amazing job repairing the holes and removing the wallpaper on the walls. He then painted the rooms and ceiling. His work was impeccable and his prices were very fair. I would definitely use him again to paint the rest of our house.

Bob was punctual and professional. The bathroom looks amazing, he did a fantastic job. We would definitely refer him to others. He showed up exactly when he said he would, got right to work and did a fantastic job.

After a lot of less than ideal contractor experiences since I moved to Florida, it was a great relief to work with Bob. He is very professional, punctual, and did a great job. Previously, I had a plasterer say he could match the knockdown finish that was repaired in several places. It looked awful. Bob fixed all the botched repairs, and now that the room is beautifully painted, I cannot even tell where the repairs were. He is back to do another job. He is the only painter I have met that I would trust to do the trim work, i.e., about 13 doors. I have new floors, and everywhere he is working he has taped paper to protect the floors. He showed up right on time, is very knowledgeable, and does things the right way. I could certainly be spending less money, but I know the job would not be the quality I want. His price is very fair for his level of skill and professionalism. I recommend him without reservation.

Everything went great! Bob told me what he would be doing. He arrived on time and put down paper over my hardwood floors. He covered his shoes and on the first day did the wall prep. He came back a second time to do some extra prep and then again to install the wallpaper. He even suggested a paper that he had installed before. The wallpaper is absolutely beautiful. I am very pleased with his quality of work and the price he gave me. Definitely will use his services again!

Came on time and removed his shoes and put on special slippers so he would not soil the house. I was very impressed with that since most contractors are slobs. He set up "shop" and started the work. The outcome was excellent. Bob takes pride in his work.He did a very clean and professional job on the wallpapering(wallpapering is an art form and is not easy to do) I have since called him back to do additional work on my home.

It was a small job, but everything went well. He charged a fair price and did a good job.

The job was very professionally done. Bob was courteous, asking before setting up his worktable, and doing a full clean-up and removal of debris. Bob also took care of removing and re-installing the powder room hardware (towel bars, toilet paper holders, hooks, etc.). We would definitely call Bob for future jobs!

I was given Robert's name from a successful designer. He called me back within an hour of my initial call, and came out the next day to see the job. It was obvious he was very knowledgeable and professional. In addition to the painting I needed, I was very happy that he told me he was able to fix the patches on the knock-down texture. It was clear that he does not use short-cuts, but does the job the right way so that the end result is excellent. We quickly scheduled the job, and Robert showed up on time exactly when he said he would. He brought all materials needed, moved all the furniture, covered the floors, and overall worked in a clean and professional manner. Despite his perfectionism, he worked quickly and efficiently, and I was amazed that the whole job was finished within the day. He presented me with a typed and itemized invoice, for the exact amount we had agreed on. The price was very fair especially given the very professional quality of the work. I will definitely hire Robert for every painting job in my house.

I found Bob Gagner on Angies List and it has proven to be the best find so far. When I first spoke with Bob, he was the consummate professional. As time was limited, he went to the condo and called me with an estimate. He proposed a price of $2800 based upon the assumption that the walls would be ready for his painting crew. When he arrived to do the job, the walls & ceiling were far from ready. He told me that he would take care of it and would only charge me for time. The GC I hired was not particularly efficient or detailed. Although the GC told me the walls, ceiling were primed and prepared for painting, Bob clearly felt they were not up to his high standards and they needed a lot of work. It took him an additional day to prepare the walls/ceilings, etc. for which he charged an additional $400 (quite reasonable for the work he and his crew did.) He told me he would correct the problem and assured me that I would be pleased. I put him on a very tight schedule and he met every time line. Talk about honest...we had all our conversations and agreements over the phone. As I was out of town, he did the work without my being present. When I returned, we did a walk through and found little things that need correcting. He again assured me that he would take care of it and I have every confidence he will. My wife also asked if he could repaint one room a different color - always the professional his response Yes, no charge.... He is great and I now understand why he is awarded high praise. I WOULD HIRE HIM AGAIN AND GIVE HIM MY UNQUALIFIED RECOMMENDATION. Finally, a "no stress" contractor" (too bad he doesn't do tile work!)

Robert was a pleasure to deal with. He performed his work in a timely and very clean manner. Despite a mis-measurement by the wallpaper provider, Robert salvaged the situation saving us hundreds of dollars and a great deal of aggravation. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

He was a true professional painter. Bob proved to us what a professional painter means. We are very detail oriented as far as true painting has to be done. Mr Gagner satisfied our expectations. His pricing methods were reasonable and he worked diligently to complete our project in a timely manner. He was also lenient to our changes mid project, in order to satisfy our request. We will definitely hire him and his team for our future projects.

Bob is professional, quiet and friendly. He arrived on time for the initial meeting and was able to return the next day to install the wall mural. His quote was on par with two other estimates and even half the price of another estimate. He installed the mural in exactly the timeframe that he suggested. We would absolutely hire him again to do any work - either at the office or at home.

Really A+ experience with Bob. First and foremost, he was extremely responsive. We had dealt with two other wall paper hangers who couldn't be bothered to return our calls or deal with our relatively small job. Bob always returned my calls, and within no time he was able to come in and do the work. He did a great job. He was very clean with the work, and very respectful of the fact we just had new floors put in. He did a great job, and the job was fantastic. Also a great guy. I highly recommend Bob to anyone who needs a great professional to hang wall paper or paint.

Bob is not only a perfectionist when it comes to his work, but he treats wallpapering almost like it's an art. The seams are invisible on my brick pattern wall paper and he was able to suggest a different look to save us $ on cost of wallpaper which worked very well. I would highly reccomend him for painting and wallpapering!

He came promptly to give me an estimate. He came as promised to paint trim and prepare walls for paper. Because I was involved in a construction situation, and to avoid stumbling all over the workers, he suggested doing the job on Sunday. And what a masterful job it was. Robert is a master craftsman-----done to the penny of his estimate--no surprises---everything spotless in his wake . I am gratefull to him for his pride in his work.
