Needed a couple bathroom fans installed, bought $99 coupon for 2 hours of service, easily a less than 2 hour job. Started badly with the tech saying "this is level 2 and it costs more and doesn't count for the coupon I'll have to talk to my mamanger" even though I confirmed before they came this is what I needed and I was using the coupon. Then after my protests he's calling back and forth and they decided to do the work. Once they did it, everything was fine, he installed the vent backwards and when I showed him it was wrong and told him how to fix it, he did and everything has been working fine since.

I used one of their big deals. The guy was good. He was great. He couldn't finish because I didn't have the rest of the equipment that was needed; but it's a bit of frustrating thing because one would not know what they need all the time, so that was great. I really appreciated him. I bought two big deals. He tried to fix my light to my kitchen, but I had only two pieces and I needed more. He worked for 4 hours. He was fine. It is sad that they told me that they would there by 11, so I went to the store to get some stuff and I got back before 11. Then I just kept waiting and apparently, they had come before I got back. We had to reschedule again. I didn't think that he would be able to come back so soon and it was great. He was aloof and competent guy. I really had to provide everything. If they give the ladder, I have to give them equipment and I had to give the bulb. There was one thing that was fabulous that I stopped using a switch years ago because it smelled like a fire and he pointed out that it was not the right switch for the fixture, so that was devastating. He was wonderful. He was just very low-key. The big deal was fabulous. I don't know how much they would cost if they don't have a big deal. The big deal was stupendous.

Had to do a follow-up visit, since one of the ceiling fans was not installed properly the first time around. I did not feel that I got a "deal" on the price. Thought the $99 was a hook to reel me in. Would have preferred to have gotten a couple of other estimates before spending the money.

I called in to Mr. Electric a month ago to schedule my work for tomorrow. Everything seemed fine until today when I called in to confirm my appointment they said they had to look through some stuff and they would call back in a little bit, three hours have passed and they still haven't contacted me. Their voicemail box is full so I can't leave a message. I am completely in the dark with this company as to whether I am scheduled for work tomorrow or not. The contact Margaret Anglin has never been there an never responded to me. If they can explain to me why they weren't able to call me back and that I am scheduled for work tomorrow I would be more than happy to change this review to a better one.

Roman and Frank did not know why they were at my home for so Roman called someone and confirm that they were here to label the circuit breaker box. They checked everything, one writing and the other at the panel. To my non-electrician eyes, they seemed to be thorough. They were careful walking around the house. They told me they had to take the written list back to the office to run it through the computer. They were supposed to be back February 8 to finish the job but they were no show. I talked to Lonnie and we set up another appointment for February 13. Again, no show although Lonnie called and told me they were running late at another job but would come anyway. They never came. Finally, on February 15, Roman showed up around 2:30 pm. (not sure of exact time), and spent a few minutes pasting a handwiritten label on the circuit panel door. By the way, they were supposed to be between 12 & 2, but Roman showed up at 11:00 and we were not available, so he had to come back later. I do not have a way of knowing whether the list is ok or not. It appears to be ok.
Description of Work: I purchased a deal for this company to do circuit panel labeling. When I got around to using the "deal" the company was no longer part of the Mister Sparky network of electricians and is now on its own as a separate entity. As a result of that, the person who is listed on the deal, Margaret Anglin, as the contact to set up an appointment is either not around anymore or was unavailable to me at the time I called. The contact person now at Wireman Electric is Lonnie, at 954 765-6685. I set up an appointment for February 6, between the hours of 12 and 2:00 p.m. Two electricians/technicians, Roman and Frank, came over shortly after 12:00 pm on February 6.

Good. Nice guy, went out of his way to please.
Description of Work: Pre-paid for $99.00 electric service. I wanted to exterior ceil fans installed. When existing light fixtures were removed the relay boxes were not correct and needed to be replaced. The electrician said replacement of boxes and fan installations not coverable by the $99.00 and that there would be an additional $112.00 charge. I thought this was reasonable, so I paid the upcharge. After installing the two fans one fan was noise and did not function well (the fans were used). The serviceman then took a third fan (I had lying around) and replaced the non-functioning fan. That worked fine. In essence I had two fixtures removed, 1 fan removed, three fans instatlled, two junction boxes removed, and two junction boxes for fans installed.

The technician arrived in an unmarked truck which was the first flag for me. He explained that they were going through a name change and the trucks weren’t completed. I asked to see his license to verify. His license had expired in 2012 so that was another major flag. I called Mr. Wireman and spoke with someone in the office who advised that he was a master electrician and the journeyman could work under him. However, there was nobody else on site with the journeyman. I asked him to do an estimate for GFI outlet that I wanted to have replaced and he said that it would be $112 to replace. I know that it wouldn’t be that expensive so I turned him away and requested a refund.

The two representatives from Mr. Wireman Electric arrived as scheduled, with their uniforms on, and proceeded to review the job with me what they would need to do to successfully wall mount the large screen tv and went about performing the services we discussed. They engaged us in the process when decisions needed to be made, for example, at what height the tv should be mounted at for the best viewing and use of the various options of the full motion wall mount we had purchased. They provided their expert opinion based on their experiences in other installations and that was very valuable when unsure how to proceed. They cleaned up after themselves when done and were professional every step of the way. If we have other electrical work to be performed they will be the first on our list to call.

I purchased an Angie's List "Big Deal" for 2 hours of labor by Mr. Wireman. I wrote to Mr. Wireman by email on January 12 to schedule service. I waited several days, and did not receive a reply. I then called them, speaking to "Lonnie" and scheduled an appointment for January 23rd between 8 and 10 AM. Lonnie called me at 7:50 AM on the date of the appointment to inform me that two of his technicians were out sick, and asked if I could reschedule. I agreed to reschedule for the same period the next day. Technician "Marvin" showed up about 9:20 AM as scheduled the next day. I had already installed a spotlight outside and ran a wire to a new junction box in the attic. All I requred was for the electrician to snake a wire down from the attic through an outside wall to a location for a new switch, and to electrify the light. After evaluating existing light switch locations (by removing the switches and then replacing them), Marvin suggested an alternative location for the switch that would take less time (cost less money) to install. I was satisfied with his suggestion and appreciated that he offered it. He then wired the switch as I requested. He used my materials, except for a switch that he supplied. The light tested fine, and his work was completed in about 75 minutes. He was neat, courteous and professional. He did not try to sell me anything I didn't ask for. Reading some other reviews, I was skeptical of this "deal," but in fact it turned out to be a good bargain. I think a buyers results will depend on the quality of the technician who shows up, and I was most fortunate to have it be Marvin.

Initial contact was when a member came out, and we walked through the inital work to be done, the quoted the prices from a 'chart' that listed most types of work and prices and which they showed me, what each task would cost, Once agreed to, we set a date, and they showed up on time, actually an half hour early, and quickly got to work with a two man team. The first two tasks were completed within 3 hours, while the final had to be rescheduled when the outside hired lift was a no show and arrived three days later. That day, again they were prompt and the work took two days to complete due to the slowness of the lift and its tendancy to break down, as well as dealing with a racoon that also claimed the tree as his home. All in all the work was excellent, they could have charged me more due to the delays caused by the troublesome lift and the racoon, but they did not. I should note, as I did above, $500 of the overall price went to cover the rental of a lift from an outside firm, and close to another $200 was costs of the city permit, so the actual costs from Mr. Wireman itself for all their work is closer to $500
Description of Work: Consisted of three wiring projects, the first was installation of new wiring to the second room to help convert this to a workout room, second was installation was installation of an all new circuit from the circuit breaker box to outside where a large pine tree was and inclusion of a multi-line plug box with protected 'geo' plugs inside a weatherproof box, plus a timer circuit and all included the permit work to do this and get it approved by city. And finally the actual lighting of the aforementioned pine tree which is 38 feet tall in christmas lights for the holiday season. (Side Note: $500.00 of the above cost came from an outside rental of a lift for the third lighting project)

I purchased a deal to have an outdoor outlet installed. Since I did not want my outlet directly behind the indoor one, there was an additional charge for locating where I wanted, but this was understood from the deal. I also had some additional work done, installing outdoor outlet covers and a dimmer inside. The electrician explained everything, and even helped me track down a faulted GFI circuit, at no charge. They arrived promptly, and completed the job plus extras as promised. I would recommend them.

I was moving to a new home and purchased two "Angie's Deals" for TV mounting. I believe the price was $139 per TV. I prepaid around $280 plus tax for two TVs. Two young men came over for the installation. One was pleasant. One was bordering on rude. They were both totally unprepared for the job. They did not have the correct screws or bolts to go through an exterior wall or a wall with metal beams. Nobody asked me where the TVs were to be hung or what kind of walls I had in advance of the installation. The installers went to Home Depot, and were gone so long I didn't think they were coming back. When they did get back, I learned of several additional charges. They were going to charge me an extra $60 per TV to hide my electrical wire, and because one of my TVs was a 65-inch (my "deal" covered up to a 55-inch TV), they charged me an extra approx $250. Originally they told me they were giving me a deal because that charge covered both the price of installing the larger TV and raising an electrical outlet on an exterior solid wall. In the end, I told them to leave the wires exposed and not raise the outlet, but they still charged me the same amount. To make matters worse, the TV is a bit crooked. I'm going to have to have it fixed. Beware of pre-? purchasing services. My understanding is that Angie's Deals cannot be returned.

See above. The Tech did not know what the job was to be when he arrived. If he had, he would have known that a ladder was needed.
Description of Work: Appt made for a Monday. No Show. When I called, I was told I was not on the schedule. Made appt for 11/24. Tech arrived promptly but without a ladder. The Big Deal was to replace light bulbs out of normal reach, so obviously to me, a ladder was needed. Tech called office or supervisor to bring a ladder. Supervisor took almost 2 hours to arrive. While waiting, the Tech performed the included "Safety Inspection". When the Supervisor arrived, he used the ladder to replace the light bulb in the outside hanging fixture above my front door. I pointed to a security light fixture at corner of roof and asked them to replace those bulbs, but they opted to do the inside ceiling lights first that I had pointed out to the Tech. This is when the Supervisor exhibited an uncooperative attitude and said they would not replace those 4 bulbs--as the ceiling was too high. The Supervisor said they would replace them at a charge of $225 each. He said there was a 15 Foot limit. Nothing I received regarding this deal said anything about a 15 ft limit -- I received several emails - receipt, confirmation, etc. After I showed them all the e-mails I'd received on the deal and they called - someone - and I showed them that my ceiling was only a few inches over 15 feet, one of them went up the ladder with their pole which had a bulb catcher on the end. However this basket was broken and they could not remove the old bulb. I have a like pole which is not broken and I brought it out for them to use, which they did - from the floor, not the ladder. The 4th bulb to be replaced was broken off with only the base in the socket. They did not replace that. They refused to replace the bulbs in the outside fixtures - front and back at the corner of the roof. While the Supervisor was being argumentative with me regarding the indoor ceiling lights and the $225 each charge, the Tech said he replaced the batteries in my 4 smoke detectors. I supplied all bulbs and batteries. Not a happy experience.

The clean up afterward was not that good. He did a good job and he was very professional and nice. The work was good. He was on time. It was just one day, he came in the morning and finished in the evening. His price was a little high. They have a catalog and they look in the catalog and base their price off of the catalog. He did the calculation with the Angie’s List price, which would have been for one fan, and we were desperate to get the work done so we had him do the rest. They were on time. If I could find someone less expensive and do the same quality work, I would go for it. It is all cataloged and structured, which is all-good.

They were on time and very professional. I originally needed 2 things to be done. I asked on the phone would they be able to install a doorbell and move an outlet from one side of the wall to exactly the same side on the other side ,in 2 hours. I was told they could. When they got there and saw the job I was requesting, I was told that they would not have time to do the other task because the doorbell installation would take up the 2 hours. Well, they finished with @ 20 min to spare.....

I was surprised that Mister Sparky - Davie didn't charge me any extra. I thought the deal was for one person for two hours. It took two of them almost the two hours to get the job done and they didn't charge me any more money. They did a real nice job, too. The lighting company swore there was 16 foot of chain in the box which there wasn't. So the guys had to come back the next day. They did the job the day before Thanksgiving where I was afraid it wouldn't happen.

Purchased an Angie?s List Big Deal for 2 Hours of Electrical Service for $99. When i called to make an appointment, I received a next day appointment which was impressive. Roman arrived late on a Friday afternoon and it was obvious he was not motivated to work. I showed Roman the ?punch list? from the home inspection which listed several minor projects. I asked him to replace the main disconnect and he did look at it, but he never changed it. He ended up selling me a whole house surge protector for $199 and I do feel he was fully competent and experienced in working on the electrical service. I felt the $99 Big Deal was a waste of money. While looking at punch list Roman noticed the ceiling fans were incorrectly wired. He pointed it out to me and I asked him to rewire but he would not correct the wiring because he wanted me to buy a nearly $3,000 wiring project. I would not use them again.

In finding the problem and fixing it, they were very efficient. I have no problem with that. My objection to Mr. Sparky is based on its business model. As I mentioned above, the very first thing the electrician did was to talk about their fee system. He presented a laminated list of graded services ranging from a low of $57 to a high of $1089. He said my problem fell under Category 4 at $225. He said that $225 would be the price whether it took him 10 minutes or 10 hours to fix it. That works out to an effective hourly rate of either $1350 for 10 minutes or $22.50 for 10 hours. Running a new wire for the microwave would fall under Category 7 at $432, but he would have to come another day because he didn't have the proper wire on his truck. Now his truck was the size of a small moving van, so I assume its purpose is to carry a great deal of equipment. I find it hard to believe that an electrician's huge truck would not carry a supply of wire. What I conclude from this two- day deal is that it was intended to justify the two-tiered fee system. By paying him $225 on Wednesday and $432 on Saturday, I guess I am not supposed to notice that correcting my problem actually cost $657. After he replaced the outlet on Wednesday, I asked the electrician about several other electrical projects I was considering, including replacing all the landscape lighting front and back, and repairing the underwater pool light, and installing a security spotlight in the backyard. He said that they could take care of all those things, but the cost of the landscape lights would depend on which fixtures I selected. He said he would drop off some brochures when he returned. On Saturday, he said they had no more in the office, but that he would drop them off on Monday. That was the last I ever heard from him. I do not like the pricing menu that Mr. Sparky uses, but I like even less that it does not follow through on commitments. I was prepared to offer them several sizable projects, but I certainly do not want to do any further business with a company that shows such contempt for its clients. And did I mention that the electrician who came both times is the office manager?
Description of Work: I was brewing coffee and running the microwave at the same time, as I have done practically every morning for the last ten years, when everything stopped suddenly. I happened to have a flyer from local service people which contained a full page ad for Mr. Sparky,so I called and made an appointment. An electrician arrived and immediately asked whether I had ever called Mr. Sparky before and whether I was familiar with their fee system. More on that below. After the commercial presentation, he addressed my problem. He determined that the coffee maker was on the same line as the microwave, which, he said should be on a line by itself. He said he would need to run a separate line through the attic space, but that he didn't have the proper wire with him. He replaced the receptacle which he said was burned out, and advised not running anything else with the microwave until the new wire was installed. That was a Wednesday. He returned with the wire and two assistants on Saturday and they installed the new wire.
