Description of Work: Replaced the condenser fan on our outside unit.

Description of Work: No service was performed other than a check of the unit and a written estimate was given. Although I did not end up getting a new AC unit, when the time comes to purchase one...AMI will be the company I call. Very easy to work with on all levels. (The only reason I did not use AMI to fix the problem was because a family friend was able to help.)

Description of Work: First, AMI is a family owned business and right from the get-go, you get that family treatment. Scheduling the service appointment was very cordial, fast and easy. Toni, who did the scheduling, had excellent telephone skills. The technician,Steve, arrived early and after a brief introduction got right to work. As he was performing the maintenance, he let me watch and answered all my questions. I never experienced such a thorough check-up .before. Additionally, he washed the re-usable filter and made some suggestions about filters. Finally, after almost an hour, he was able to determine only one concern: the blower motor. which is an expensive part, the price determined by Carrier.not AMI. $438. But, installing a new blower motor would prolong the life of the A/C unit. I received a brochure which explained all the info I needed to make an informed decision. As it turns out, I am not eligible for any maintenance plans. because the part I need makes the health of the unit questionable and AMI cannot offer me a plan with pre-existing conditions. I was impressed and very pleased with the service I got from AMI. All A's in my opinion.

Description of Work: My A/C was freezing and not working properly. I called A.M.I. the night before and left a message. First thing in the morning Debbie returned my call and an hour or so later Adam arrived, checked out the situation and within minutes had discovered that the system was low on freon. He added the refrigerant and immediately the system was better. Price was good and service was fast. Outstanding work. I will use again if needed.

Description of Work: I called Dennis from AMI, after searching on Angie's list for a reputable air conditioning company. I explained to him that we were experiencing smoke odor inside our home whenever the neighbors barbecued or the everglades were on fire. I told him that I thought I needed to update our AC system from a package unit to a split one, more modern system, and asked if he would provide an estimate for a Trane product. He said he would, and also provided two more less expensive estimates via e-mail. But first, he said, he wanted to examine the existing system because he felt that the problem could be solved by ensuring that the existing system was sealed. Sure enough, he found the problem. The intake air duct was opened and exposed the interior roof and he informed us of that and recommended that sealing the air intake would solve the problem. Not only did it solve the problem but the house interior was cooled much more with the AC unit working less. Dennis saved us anywhere from 7 to 10 thousand dollars and fixed our problem. It is rare that a company would exhibit such honesty and display such investigative talent to find and deal with the problem that the customer may not be aware of. Kudos to Dennis and AMI!!!!! On July 15 Dennis returned to our home, per our request, and completed a new job we wanted which was putting new sheet metal around the casing of the package unit. Again JOB WELL DONE!!!!
