AMI Air Conditioning

It went extremely well. I called them late on December 14 almost to closing time and left them a message both on the phone and by email. A lady from the office called me around 8:30 AM. I called her back around 11:00 AM and she told me a technician would be here in midafternoon. He came right on time, inspected the work and fixed the problem. He was very professional, competent, and neat. He made sure the air-condition was working properly, checked it a couple of times, and left the work area better than he found it. I was able to use Angie's coupon, so the job cost $144.90. I was very pleased with the way they responded promptly and with the quality of the work. I definitely use them again.

It was GREAT!...The tech was honest and detailed. He told us the problem... He did not try to say that we needed a new unit...as others have!...I would highly recommend this company!

I had just bought a foreclosure and was told that the AC should be changed within a year, it died the week after I closed. I was hoping that this would just require replacing a to buy time before deciding on a unit the next year. After searching on Angieslist I bought the diagnostic package from AMI to troubleshoot. I had purchase a deal on Sunday night and AMI called me at 8am Monday morning. Upon finding out the AC wasn't working I got an appointment that afternoon. (See pictures) Adam came out to troubleshoot the compressor and handler and gave me some recommendations. I did end up going with a better unit (a Carrier two phase unit) and Adam was honest enough to say that it would take more than 10 years to breakeven. I did find out later that they added options that was not normally included. Casey and Amil (spelling?) came to do the install 2 days later. The delay was because of permitting. They did send a paint can of cookies later (see picture) What I like about working with AMI (compared to other AC installs I've been involved in) (0) Scheduling was painless and it felt like they were doing their best to work around my schedule. (1) Installed the compressor on a bracket, other AC that I've had don't. (2) They handled permitting (3) Communications appears to be better.

The job was ok at first. The company shipped us a reusable filter at no cost. But we had to call for another company to come out 4 months later to clean and tune up again.

Technician performed task and took time to explain the process. Got some helpful advice.

The job was completed in a very short time frame and resolved the problem.

This is what I sent to AMI on 11/18/15. I have never received any response. $59 for a Central A/C Inspection, Cleaning & Tune-up! I made this purchase through Angie's List yesterday when I realized that my AC was not draining. I received a message to call 954-966-2380. I phoned AMI today to schedule. The receptionist asked what was wrong with the AC. I told her that the drain needed to be flushed. She said this was "extra" and not included in the $59. What exactly is included in the "Inspection, Cleaning & Tune-up"?

They refilled the Freon in my air conditioner. They wouldn't honor the deal, and charged me double or quadruple the original cost. I did receive a check for 10% of my costs, but I feel like I've been conned.

Expedited services. Very professional. Will use them every time I get an A/C problem.

They were on time, found the problem immediately and resolved by the next day.

Prompt, professional service. The technician, Steve, was professional, on time, and got the job done. We didn't know if we were going to be looking at a huge repair bill. The fix ended up being simply clearing a drain line and pan. We will use AMI for any future AC needs.

The greatest. performance of professionals I have dealt with for A/C in many years. Asked questions told me how old the equipment was, what to expect from it. Answered my questions.

got in a bit late, customer service on phone was good. tech was a bit aloof at frst, later got better when he saw repair was easy. i had to prompt him to check the rest of the unit. overall ok, not the greatest service i had from an ac company

Punctual, honest and got the job done

It's a mixed review. It eventually worked out but there were some issues. We had a misunderstanding. The worker that came out was excellent. He was prompt.

It went badly. I had an appt window from 8-12. I was told I would get a call 20-30 mins before the tech arrived. At 12:10pm when I had not gotten a call, I called them. We arranged that I would call them after I had run errands.. I told them I would be back around 2pm and would call, which I did. 1:45pm, was told guy was still at same job. I was told they would call me and I was next in line. They did not call. I was on 2nd story roof doing repairs and it took me time to get down and get to street side - all of this I had told the person when I called them after lunch. A very belligerent tech told me he had been waiting (!) 20 mins - I have cameras and the doorbell records and then the CID. He was there less than 5mins. This was about 3 hours beyond the window I was given. He then proceeded to try to argue with me about wasting his time while I was taking him to first AC that I needed replaced and wanted estimate. I have dogs and to save time and given I had no warning of when this guy was showing, they were inside the house- so easiest to hit out building and compressors. Very nasty tech. Loud. Lied. My first interaction with this company and now last interaction. They can keep the money I spent on their 'deal.'

The company was very responsive. They made me the second call of the day. I bought the $49 Angies List special and he blew out my drain pipe which was backed up, for free because of that. Extremely friendly and professional technician. I am a tenant and this is not who my landlord wanted us to use but their guy couldn't get here until the next day. I would use this company again if I could. Great experience.

Earlier this month, I began experiencing problems with my 2 ton Rheem AC unit and contacted the company which had done the installation (8 years ago) and had done the annual service on the unit. They identified the issue as needing to replace the circuit board as they were getting a code 27. When I told them it was not working properly and it was still too warm, they never called me back. While they consider themselves the BEST, this was clearly disappointing after being a customer for 10 years. That said, we are in SFL and AC is a must, so I signed up for Angie's list and decided to search for a reputable company which could help me. AMI caught my attention and I decided to give them a try and I could not have been more pleased with my overall experience. I contacted them and had the pleasure of meeting Steve who worked on the 2 ton Rheem unit. He identified similar issues to what was found above, but ended up finding a way to get the AC to work to a reasonable degree. Several days later, my 5 ton unit stopped working, so I called AMI back and Steve came and identified the issue as a faulty circuit breaker within the unit. He had to run out to the supply store, came back in a reasonable time period and fixed the problem with the 5 ton Rheem unit. I contacted AMI and asked to speak to someone about replacing the 2 ton unit (8 plus years old) as it was not consistently working so at times it would be blowing out warm area. After a month of drama with this unit I decided to replace it and had the pleasure to meet Corey, the service manager and like Steve, he was very knowledgeable. I selected a new 2 ton, 2 stage Carrier unit which removes the humidity from the area it covers and is much more energy efficient. Casey came last Monday and did the installation however, the mini-computers in the AC unit, handler and thermostat were misaligned, so the AC stopped working when I got home that night. I called Toni who runs the office the next morning and explained the issue and she was very understanding and arranged to have Adam come by on Wednesday morning to fix the issue, which he did. The AC is running smoothly and the installation passed inspection by the town last Friday. Hopefully, my 5 ton unit has a few more years on it; however, if I run into problems in the future or need a new AC unit, I will be sure to give Toni and team a call. In the meantime, I'm going to contact FPL and lobby for a higher rebate on new AC units as what they are offering today is relatively minor in the big picture.

Almost positive this review will be a repeat, but excellent service never gets old. A few months ago, we were having trouble with the fan motor on outside unit. Adam came out and fixed the problem, but gave me the long face when he told me the unit was ancient, and amazed it had lasted this long. Middle of August, just returned from cool NC, and the downstairs unit finally gave up the ghost. AMI was my first call, though I did shop around for estimates. Adam came at the scheduled time and confirmed that it was time. Adam gave us an acceptable estimate, and though it was middle of summer, since I was a repeat customer, they fit us in for two days later. No muss no fuss; these guys were very professional and tore out the old and installed the new in approx 6 hrs, clean-up included. The new unit is running like a swiss watch, and snuggle bunny is a happy lady. I would highly recommend AMI A/C and Heating without hesitation.
