I called at 6pm to schedule after hours service. They told me they would not have anyone available until 2 days later!!! I then called another company in the same area and had a guy come within hours !!

I always had to call them. They were speaking with the tenant but I was the landlord/owner. They never called me to discuss pricing/cost/labor but went ahead and performed the work without my approval. I filed a complaint with the BBB. I already filed a formal complaint with the State of Florida Business and Professional Regulations Department. That complaint is still under review and processing. Their employees lied to cover for each other to cover up their big goof up. The Supervisor John stated he quoted price and he never did. It took them 4 days to get a part and complete the unauthorized work. Now 30-40 days later the A/C stop cooling again

I called three different companies. I wanted them to come in and give me estimates. One didn't even bother coming in. The other company wasn't doing the carpentry. Del-Air came in to look at it, set me a price. I said, 'Do you do the carpentry?' And he said, 'Of-course, how would it sit in there if we didn't do the carpentry?' We have had them come in and check it and do the maintenance from time to time. I would highly recommend Del-Air to anybody.

I have dealt with Del-Air for more than 25 years. They have serviced my air-conditioners and my son's, and have replaced the units at our houses when needed. They have replaced the four units in my house at least twice and my son's a/c once for a total of at least 9 units possibly 13,(my memory for A/C units installed is faulty due to my blocking out the high cost of them) . They perform maintenance on my four units at home, the two units at my office, my son's and an a/c in Gainesville when they went there, and that of my sister-in-law. I thought this was a a service oriented company, and had continued to utilize their services, even though I could obtain those services cheaper elsewhere. My son's 1 1/2 year old air conditioner stopped working- a unit the Del-Air had installed and serviced twice yearly. The technician said that the blower was bad, and that that he did not have one on his truck. Because they did not have to manufacturer's part in stock, they could install a temporary motor for a rental fee of $125. Let me re-iterate- They did not have the part so they are charging an extra $125 ! How convenient. I called the company, and asked to speak with the general manager. He was "in a meeting", and I was told he would call me back. To my amazement, he did call back. I explained the situation to him, and with a condescending, dismissive manner, he explained what I already knew. He did not care that we had a long history with the company. I do have to hand it to him, he was rude in the most polite way. I think he thought he was talking to a person of limited intelligence, and expected me to apologize after explaining the situation to me. The fact that I discussed moving my business, in a non-threatening manner, elsewhere fazed him not one whit. I can't understand that he is willing to lose all of my business over what I think is a revenue generating scam. I told him that I might not be his biggest customer, but I was probably his most loyal one. He did not care about this, and now I see that loyalty is valueless to this company, a "so called" employee owned firm. I think it is just a case of the employee-owners, trying to wring every single penny that they can from their best asset, their customers, or in this case, a former customer. Funny, how going from employees to owners changed their philosophy. Today, they called me to ask that I rescind the review. Since I was under the impression that they had ameliorated the original insult, I agreed. Then I spoke to my son. They had charged $394 for the first visit, including rental for the motor for a few days. They came back today, and installed the proper motor. The technician broke a fan blade, and had to return to his warehouse to get a replacement. Thank the lord they had it in stock. They then tried to charge an additional service charge because they did not have the motor in stock on the first visit. That is what we call chutzpah. Chutzpah is when you kill your mother and your father, then plead for mercy because you are an orphan, in other words, unmitigated gall. They expected me to pay extra for their lack of technical service, lack of customer service and lack of communication.They will call tomorrow to ask why I didn't remove the this horrid review, and I will tell them they don't have a snowball's chance in H***.

In response to posting on Angie’s list from [Member Name Removed] regarding repairs to heating and air conditioning work at son’s home we have reviewed the file and the following is our findings. First of all, Del-Air installed a new Lennox Heat Pump System for [Member Name Removed] son two (2) years ago, 6/19/13, not 1 ½ years ago. The one (1) year labor warranty that Del-Air provides expired on 6/19/14. On 7/30/15 his son called into our office to report that his unit was not cooling and requested service after 4:30PM that same day. The call was dispatched to one of our service technicians at 6:15PM and he arrived at 7:06PM. Upon checking the system he found that the unit was iced up due to a seized blower motor. The blower motor required for this unit is an OEM factory X13 motor and is not standard truck stock. Due to the time of day, the vendor warehouse was closed and our technician would not be able to go pick one up. The tech also called into our office to see if we had one in our stock, which we did not. It is impossible to stock our warehouse or trucks with every type motor (or part) for every unit. Our policy is to offer alternative solutions so that the homeowner can have air conditioning (or heat) and not be left down while the factory part is obtained. If the case allows (some cases this cannot be achieved due to special mounting brackets, rpm, horse power etc) we offer to install a truck stock universal motor with relay to get them up and running. The fee for this is $125.00. Our technician explained to[Member Name Removed] what the charges would be for the OEM factory motor and the additional amount if he wanted the temporary motor installed. He approved the temporary motor installation and authorized for Del-Air to order the OEM motor. Charges are as follows: $79.00 diagnostic fee, $365.00 for universal motor of which $125.00 would be non refundable for the installation of the temporary motor but $240.00 would be applied to the OEM replacement- total of charges was $444.00 and then a $50.00 Del-Air approved coupon was applied bringing the total collected down to $394.00. [Member Name Removed] was quoted $376.00 less credit of $240.00 (paid on previous call for the temporary motor) for the in warranty OEM motor. Balance due at time of the factory motor would be $136.00. Total charges with the diagnostic and less the $50.00 coupon would be $530.00. [Member Name Removed] father called into our office the next day (Friday 7/31) and demanded to speak to the General Manager. He refused to speak to anyone else in management and since I was in a meeting was put in my voice mail. I returned his call and listened to his story and how he felt that his son should not have to pay for the motor replacement, let alone the temporary motor installation. I tried to explain our process to him and what it takes to obtain a warranty part, get it installed and the processing of warranty claims to return the part to get the credit from the manufacturer. We have costs and overhead associated with this process. I told him that I would review the situation and get back to him. The service call to return to install the factory motor is on today’s schedule, 8/3/15. I have instructed the technician to go ahead and install the motor and not to charge [Member Name Removed] the $136.00 as previously quoted. At this time I feel that our charges were fair and that we try to take the extra step to make sure our customers have cooling when our technicians leave their home, even if only a temporary fix. In this case, we installed a temporary motor would have been at a cost of $125.00 which only covers the labor and we are left with a motor that we cannot sell as we do not sell used parts. We do this as a courtesy to our homeowners to provide cooling when temperatures outside are extreme. Not all homeowners want the temporary motor, but the offer is out there for them. I do not know of any other company that offers this service. I know [Member Name Removed] was extremely upset when he spoke to me but I do hope that he will revisit this situation an reconsider his comments and negative feedback on our company and services we provide. It's a big company. But, they have excellent service. We had them out here Saturday night. All of a sudden everything stopped. They were doing repairs at eight o'clock at night. It was beastly hot and they were here taking care of us. Robert is so good at figuring out problems. I think he works in the emergency crew in this area. They've always taken good care of us. There was no charge. He kind of felt that the original installation two years ago wasn't quite right. So, they did some re-plumbing of the drainage and there was no charge. When you call, they tell you how long it's going to be and they're good about making sure that you know what's going on.

They didn't do anything. My energy company (electric) XXXX Energy has an energy audit program. After an energy audit was done by Duke Energy they and I wanted a front door blower test to test out the A/C vents to see which vents/ducts (if any) are leaking. In October 2014 I was talking to XXXX Energy and they transferred my call to Del-Air. The Del-Air rep. said they didn't know anything about any kind of blower door test. XXXX Energy said that was incorrect and gave me Del-Airs direct telephone number. I called that number and left a message but no one ever called me back and this was October 2014. In July 2015, XXXX Energy company did an energy audit on 07/15/15 and they recommended a blower door test to check for leaks in the duct work that we both could feel. The appointment with Del-Air was made on 07/15/15 for the next day which was 07/16/15 at 11am. At 10:35am on 07/16/15 Del-Air called and said they are running late and won't be out until 1pm or 1:30pm and it could take two hours for the blower door tests. I said don't come out because I can't take the FULL day off of work that I would have to if he didn't show up until 1-1:30 and finish by about 3:30pm. I took 1/2 day off of work (the mid-day) to be home from 11am to about 1pm when we expected to finish, but I can't take off the whole day since the guy was running late. So then I called to complain and Del-Air customer service person said there wasn't an appointment for today, the last one was 2011. I hung up and called XXXX Energy company and got a name/phone of Del-Air person who I can deal with directly, so I called her and she will have a supervisor call me about the whole issue. PEOPLE: Do not use Del-Air.

The technician inspected the outside unit and it was relatively new, no repairs needed there. Inspected the air handling unit and said it was fine. Went into the attic and said I had little or no insulation as the problem. He suggested I call FPL for a free home energy audit, which I did the same week. The FPL inspector came out and checked the air handler and said where the air handler goes into the attic and connects to the duct work, there was a void about 12-18 inches deep by 2-3 feet wide where you could look up and see the attic where there should have been a wall to prevent the hot air from the attic coming down into the utility room where the air handler is located. Additionally, the FPL inspector some of the duct work was not connected to the vents, and the flexible duct work had numerous holes ranging from pencil eraser size to softball size. I'm thinking the Del-Air Technician should have caught at least some of this.

In deciding on which AC unit that I wanted to go with, I bid out five different vendors. By far John Aldrich with Del-Air was the most professional and knowledgeable. John, had no problem coming after hours to meet with me. That is very hard to find with the other vendors and actually caused friction with a few of them in trying to arrange appointments. . He came to the house, made his evaluation and provided a very detailed quote. Once I decided to go with Del-Air, a day was set (even was able to get a Saturday install without paying extra!!). On the day of install the technicians arrived on time, had name tags with their pictures on them The install went extremely well, they worked very clean, professional and courteous. All the work was completed as specified. I am very happy with my AC install experience with Del-Air and would highly recommend them!

ze the cooling & heating for each zone and each dayI live in Kissimmee and often when I do a local search for service many excellent providers are omitted because their central office is outside my local area - Del Air has headquarters in Sanford (about 50 miles north) but as they are my current a/c compamy I was aware of them even though they didn't show up in my Angie's List search First off Del Air is a large company and that gives a customer a lot of advantages - They don't spot order ac units ..... they order in bulk on popular models and that can get you a terrific price - In my case I wanted a dual stage, 5 ton, 16 seer unit with a full color programmable thermostat - Based on Consumer Reports I opted to go with Trane (A good ac unit is going to last 15 years so low ball priced units will disappoint for a decade) I shopped 6 different suppliers - Del Air not only came in $900 cheaper on a top of the line unit they showed me how to qualify for $450 Kissimmee Utility rebate List price on my package was over $11,000 and after the Utility Company rebate and Del Air loyalty concession my final installed price was $6,800 - There are cheaper units (single stage style) but I opted for a double stage ....... that increased efficiency should knock another $50 a month off my electric bill - Another plus with a dual stage is the thing runs so quiet my wife kept going out to see if it was actually on for he first few days - They also included a full year of service in the price The programmable thermostat breaks each day into 4 separate time zones and you can customize cooling & heating for each zone for each day - It also regulates humidity, has some downloadable data I haven't gotten to yet and even gives a complete 7 day weather forecast - Oh! It is also a touchscreen which is another nice perk Installation was painless - Signed the deal in the afternoon and they were there the next morning - No lag time waiting for a spot order unit to arrive - They had it on the floor at their warehouse - The Del Air installation crew left my garage cleaner than when they arrived - That's another advantage of a larger company ... professional crews with a long employment history - No part timers or pick up labor - These workmen will be in your home and if you think security has a value then the Del Air team will give you peace of mind They are cheaper manufactured units and cheaper installation charges but on a purchase that will last 15 years you need a company that will be in business a long time and be able to stand behind their work Del Air is definitely worth a look

I had them put in a new airconditiong in 2013. They were prompt, went over my needs, and quickly installed it. It is now 2015 and have never had any problem whatsoever. You can see the installation was done carefully and in a professional manner, and has been completely reliable. You cannot put too much importance on your AC performance in Florida! Thanks!

My husband is a double lung transplant patient. Del-Air understood the medical urgency and came as soon as possible. They diagnosed the problem and due to a rare part order, returned the next morning first thing and did the repair.

Another company had to come in and fix the following after Del-Air missed: Missed finding simple issues with capacitors and open valves. Leaving valves loose/open for the purpose of creating a problem where none existed. Not detecting a dual capacitor reading that was way below specs. Finding ways to replace parts simply because they are under warranty and charging labor fees on the high end of the scale. Previously, the Del-Air service technician demanded immediate payment for a warranty item and refused to leave my property for over an hour. Home Builder had to call Del-Air to get the technician to leave. There are Del-Air receipts that I have that have with statements on them containing similarly threatening language demanding payment before leaving my property, dated 2013. Please note, I have a credit score in the 800s and no record of failing to pay Del-Air or any other contractor. My tenant sent text showing that the Del-Air tech at this last visit wanted $150 before adding coolant to the system. Scared the tenant into believing that if he didn't pay the system would freeze up and he would have no AC. The tenant has two 3mo old babies in the home and this caused he and his wife great anxiety. This was confirmed with a conversation I had with the Tenant. A simple leak check and one lb of coolant should have been added at that time, it is advertised as part of their service. By the way, the system cooled without a problem until the other AC company came out 10/22 and fixed what Del-Air missed. Update 1/16/2015 - DelAir PR department did follow up with me only after they read this review. They were very nice on the phone.

Their service has been great. I am under a maintenance contract so they come out every 6 months and check it out. It is a yearly fee. I would recommend them to my neighbors because they are dependable. They are not the cheapest.

I am pretty happy with them. We had bought the house when it was 6 years old, and we saw their name on the AC unit, and we called them. They were prompt on answering me, they gave me the service pretty quickly, and I was happy with them.
