He was really quite personable and did a good job. It was good that he communicated both by phone and email, which we really appreciated. His work was excellent and we had no issues with the work. He is in enough demand that he did have to reschedule us for a couple of days because of something else but we also had to reschedule him once. He was really quite good. We didn't compare his prices. I thought it was a bit high because I grew up in a rural area but we were glad to pay to have it done.

Jeff came and gave my husband an estimate on the things we needed done. We did not bother to get a second estimate because we know that Jeff does quality work at a reasonable rate. He had to have some help installing the ceiling fan since we have a 30 ' ceiling in the livingroom and the fan dropped down on a 6' rode. It was not a job which he could do alone. Jeff was nice enough to go to Home Depot and picked up the attic ladder for us since we do not own a truck or SUV. He also used a helper to help him with the attic ladder. All the work was done on a timely manner and my husband and I were very pleased with the quality of his work and price. We will be calling Jeff again for future work to be done around our home. We are happy to have found a good christian and honest person to do handyman work for us.

so far, good Job competed. had long conference with Jeff on how repairs could be done in reasonably economical way in light of this being rental property. We settled for middle of line looking for endurance. It was particularly noted that although Jeff had in fact bought new closet doors he was able to fix existing doors and took new ones back. price was fair. I am in process of getting quotes fro him for repairs for my home.

Old sliding glass patio door at a campus rental property was beyond repair. Jeff Lucas recommended replacing it with a French door to avoid future issues and up-grade the appearance. He located the new French doors at a good price, and then removed the old door set and installed the new. He and his assistant did an excellent job, were prompt and professional, and friendly to deal with. Would definately recommend.

Each project went great from start to finish, with a clear understanding of what work was to done, how, and when.

Everything went very well from start to finish. Jeff and his assistant arrived on time and spent a day taking up all the old tile and preparing the floor for installation. Thenext day Jeff brought a subcontractor and his assistant to install the tile. They were excellent and worked very hard and in an efficient and professional manner. They were very polite and cleaned up before they left. Jeff came back the next day and put in the quarterround while the asistant grouted the floors. Everything was moved back into place and was beautiful when they left. He followed up with me to make sure everything was okay and that I was happy with the work. I would gladly hire him again to complete any renovation project that I need to have done! I am very pleased!

This was the third visit to my home. She is very good, willing to do anything I need help with, very professional and personable, very considerate, and gets the job done well and in short order. I am very pleased with this service provider and hope to continue with her.

Based on reviews we read on Angie's List, we hired Jeff Lucas. We live in Texas and purchased an investment property in Tallahassee. It needed painting, new front door, new french door, new flooring in bedroom and several other items. We communicated everything we wanted done by phone and email. He was awesome! A man of his word. He had just over one week to get the house ready after we closed the transaction and before we arrived in Florida. Everything was done with one exception but that was an item we were waiting on from a supplier. He also came up with some creative ways to solve some issues in the house. Hiring someone "sight unseen" always has some risk. However, based on the reviews we read we felt much more comfortable. We would highly recommend Jeff to anyone. His price was fair and he made sure we were happy with his work. We will definitely contact him again when we need anything!

The work was completed on time and all seemed to go according to plan. The re-roofing looked good at first. But in November, after a little over 8 months, it started to come loose and crumble. We contacted him to look at it. After several contacts by phone and email he finally came out to see it. He said he needed to wait for better weather to do the repairs. That was the last we heard of him. He never replied to any further contacts and we finally decided, based on another unsatisfactory job he did for us, that we were better off starting over with someone else. We never received the product warantee either. The roofing now comes off in pieces every time we have the roof cleaned. The stripping placed over the metal screen porch is all leaking as well now. Lesson learned- a warantee is only as good as the integrity of the person providing it unless you want to go to court over it.

I noticed the dryer seemed to be taking longer to dry clothes. Jeff cleaned out the dryer vent for me and it works much better now. I would not hesitate to use Jeff for this service or any other of his handyman services. He is very reliable, honest and professional!

I contacted Mr. Jeff Lucas about having his company paint my apartment. I appreciated being able to reach him easily and not wait days to get an estimate. He came out, went over what needed to be done, and gave me a good price. I expressed concerns about not getting paint on the carpet which was in great condition. He assured me the carpet would be protected and free of paint. I accepted his offer and requested that he begin soon as possible. He started the next week which worked for me. His painter, Bill, started and finished the job within my time requirements for readying the apartment for tenant move-in the first of the following month. The paint job was "Excellent". All the painted surfaces were neat and the carpet was spared paint. Bill did whatever needed to be done to make the paint job look good and last. Jeff furnished the paint, and it was all good quality. I am very pleased with the professional paint job performed by Bill who had many years of experience. I definitely got my money's worth. Because Jeff does good work at a good price, I have had him do several jobs for me. I have found him to be honest, reliable, trustworthy and and a man who will give you a straight talk assessment of a problem you have and how he would fix it at a good price.

Jeff is very reliable. I trust him to do every job in a conscientious manner. On this occasion, he found there was a problem in the layout of the vents which he corrected. Then he cleaned out the built-up lint. I expect much better service from the dryers at these properties.

It went perfectly. Jeff Lucas is dependable, professional, courteous, on time and very easy to work with. He did a great job, doing everything I asked for a terrific price. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing handyman services.

Jeff came out to look at the foyer ceiling on a Friday morning to see how he could replace the light. He told me he could probably do it on Sunday or the next week, but then he called me right back and said he had assistance and could do it that very same day! He and Buddy came back that afternoon and did an excellent job of replacing the lights in a very timely manner for a very reasonable cost. My husband was out of town, and I hadn't finished assembling one of the lights. Even though that wasn't part of the estimate, they also helped me assemble the light. The lights look and work great! I couldn't be happier. I have used Elite Home Services for other jobs in the past, and they have never let me down. They will always be the first company I call for ANY home improvement/repair because they are true professionals, reasonably priced, and very honest!

Update: Will NOT recommend. 5/4/12. It's been 3 months and he hasn't returned to finish the work he committed to. When I started using him a couple of years ago he was very responsive, but it has slipped steadily. He's now not responding to email or phone calls. Also blew off an appointment he agreed to this past Monday. No show. No call. No replies. I've been very patient: I don't want to have to look for someone else, but now have to. Did good work on this date and deserved the review. However, I won't use again. We noticed our dryer was taking longer to dry clothes. It had been 2 years since the last duct cleaning. We also had drywall staining behind the dryer, all the way up to the ceiling. Had a couple vent companies quote on cleaning the ducts, but they wanted no part of the water staining issue. Jeff came out and in short order, determined that my existing dryer ductwork in the attic was causing the moisture issue. The duct ran halfway down the attic to the roof vent. The moisture was running back down the duct and leaking out of a seam. The accumulated moisture also caused excessive lint buildup. Jeff put in a new vent directly above the dryer and ran pvc pipe from the dryer to the new roof vent. He also removed the old vent, sealed the hole and put new shingles in place. Looks great. He also put a cleanout access in the attic attic pvc, so I can easily cleanout the pvc duct if/when needed. Jeff is very personable, professional and goes the extra mile.

We had received a price from Lowe's (where we bought the flooring), and Jeff beat their price by a lot! We had already used Jeff for other services in our home (painting, lighting installation, door installation, etc.), and he was EXCELLENT, so we did not hesitate to give him this job as well. He drove 2.5 hours to perform this job and stayed overnight - he will truly exceed your expectations! The floor looks amazing, and we we could not be happier - again!! Thank you, Elite and Jeff, for another outstanding job - we will use only you for all of our future contracting endeavors!

This is the most recent of quite a few jobs I have asked Jeff to do. As always he did a great job. I feel very comfortable having him go into rental properties to do work whether I am there or not. He understands exactly what I want him to do. He always leaves the place clean. I have been extremely pleased with his work.

I can't state enough how happy I was with Mr. Lucas' work. He took the time and had the dedication that is rare with contractors and builders in Tallahassee...he even came back a few weeks after the repair work was officially completed to "touch-up" paint a spot and to reinstall a gutter that had inadvertently become loose. Mr. Lucas offers professional services and I am convinced he truly wants his customers to be happy with his work. I would be happy to field questions or comments about Mr. Lucas' work, and highly value his work. He will be getting my business again in the future! :-)

Mr. Lucas built a set of steps that were far superior to the original, including the replacement of the 2x4 anchor posts with 4x4 anchors. His original price quote was just to replace the original but he built a better set of steps, at no extra cost over his estimate. I'm very pleased with the results, and with his professionalism and promptness. I will use his services in the future.

I could not be more pleased with the outcome. Jeff was extremely professional and completed or supervised the highest quality work. Even on the jobs he contracted for, he chose professionals that did a fantastic job and either visited or stayed in touch with me constantly to ensure I was happy with the work being done. I am very leary of hiring service providers as we've had a bad experience in the past, but Jeff made me a believer again! The value for the money spent was EXCELLENT.
