Larry helped me open a certain type of file ( and charged me, less the Angies discount. A few days later,i received an attached file with a different format, helped me open it, and then charged me again ! For the 3rd time, i received the same error message ( unable to open attached file ) as the 1st time and then Larry installed an " all encompassing " method to help open all files ( which i should have received initially ) The Problem is i have now realized the methods were all available online free of charge Compounding matters further, i asked him each time to give me the charges upfront ; he did not ; he charged me only after he was linked on to my computer ( i was very specific each time ) When my daughter and i were on the phone with a final question, he became rude and literally hung up the phone on both of us !! We both felt we were treated dishonestly and humiliated

Outstanding! Steve came out on Saturday afternoon and spent four hours completing not only the tasks requested, but also configured the system for easier use. There was one program he had to return to the office to research, and will return Thursday morning with the updated program and laptop. There were a few aspects of the new operating system we were unclear about. Larry was able to not only answer our questions, but logged on to the computer remotely to help install additional software. Not only are these gentlemen professional and knowledgeable, they are also courteous, personable, and genuinely interested in our satisfaction. We will use SOHO Computer Services for ALL our computer needs. Oh, did I mention how reasonable their prices are? Outstanding!!

First, the phone was answered promptly. I was put through to Larry and described the problems to him. He was able to address both problems straight away. It took a little time but he was courteous and helpful prompting me through the process which was appreciated because I am not computer savvy. Overall a good experience.

I called Larry at 8:30 on a Monday morning. He said he would be at my place by 1l:00 and he arrived just a few minutes after 11. He spent most of an hour pouring over the inside of my computer, tightening, adjusting, etc. and about an hour later the full display came on and my computer is now working perfectly. He also showed me what to do in case this problem should happen again. Very punctual, very knowledgeable and very professional, I'm delighted to have found Larry. Crash occurred while I downloaded Windows 10. Got the deadly blue screen and error message. Steve and Larry at Soho were able to save all my files and painstakingly got me up and running. They saved everything at their location and then spent hours working with me remotely.

I described their work as detailed as I can, but want to add that in the past I have used several other computer services and that SOHO is by far the best to ever worked on our computers. Needless to say, that I would recommend them very highly

I brought in my laptop into SOHO on 6/26/14 because I had a computer virus. Steve, the tech who worked on my machine, seemed to be very knowledgeable and efficient and called me by the next day to advise me that the problem was taken care of and that I could pick up my laptop. Unfortunately, my laptop has not worked properly since then! The tech installed his preferred antivirus protection application (Avast Anti-virus) saying that it was better than what I had. (I had been using ZoneAlarm for years with no problems). He made changes to my laptop settings and I am not happy with what was done. I get a lot of popups and warnings (with flashing lights and alarms) so I know that everything is not taken care of. I called within a week of getting my laptop back. Steve was available to provide ?remote? assistance. In the middle of our session he told me that he had to go do something and would get back to me. He did not call me back that day. Further, when he did call to reschedule, I tried 3 times to work around his schedule because I wanted my laptop fixed. He was never able to dedicate a time to me. Each time he was at another business client?s location and said he would call me to reschedule. I finally got tired of the runaround and called the office directly instead of Steve?s cell phone. I told the father that I wanted to bring my laptop in because I was tired of being put off and ignored. As I said, this had been going on for a few weeks. In any event, on August 7, 2014 I brought the laptop back into their office. Steve was there and said he would take care of the problems (I had a list) and call me when he was finished. He called me the next day and told me to return to the office around 2pm. Around noon he called me to tell me that he would be delayed and that he would be back in the office around 4pm and that he would give me a call. I never got a call but I was waiting just in case he was running a little behind (he was never on time, at least not for me). I waited outside the building until 4:20pm and then I called to see if he was on his way. He claimed that he had been waiting for me since 4pm inside but that now he had no time because he had a client (Wendy?s) who needed help and he had to leave. He asked me to give him 15 minutes since Wendy?s was literally right down the street. I ran some errands and returned at 5pm (I knew he would not be back in 15 minutes). As I was parking my car I saw him go into the building. I figured he was going to call me to tell me that he was back so to save time I just went in to the office. As soon as he saw me he starting making excuses that he still didn?t have time and that he had to go back to Wendy?s. He handed me my laptop and said he would call to reschedule. He also asked if I had been sitting outside all that time waiting for him and that it was ?creepy? if I was. (What?!) I explained that I had just driven up and saw him go into the building. I got home I saw that he had left me a voice message on my cell phone in which he apologized for not being able to complete the job on my laptop. The message said that he would call me the next day. I have not heard anything else since then. Before submitting this revision I decided I would call to try to give SOHO another chance. I spoke with the brother of the original tech (I think his name is Matt, not sure). He apologized for my experiences and asked me to bring in my laptop. He made changes but ? now my iTunes did not work.!. I had to uninstall and reinstall iTunes; my printer continued to give me an error so I needed to uninstall, reinstall and download the drivers. My laptop had an error that it needed software updates to be downloaded. As I go along I find more problems. My advice ? STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! They do NOT know what they are doing!! I am also going to file a complaint with the department of Consumer Affairs and the BBB so that everyone is aware of the incompetency of this company. The ?funny? thing is that when I first went to this computer service the tech, Steve, told me a bad business story about another company I had wanted to use! I doubt they are worse than this?! Even though stores like Best Buy charge more for diagnostics, remember ? YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!! I'm lucky that I have worked in IT and was able to do some of the minor things like downloading drivers and uninstalling and reinstalling. For a non-tech savvy person experience would have had a harder negative impact. Needless to say, I now have to take the laptop elsewhere to get the job cleaned up.

After leaving a voice message, I received an immediate call back from Lawrence. I explained that we had been having tremendous difficulty accessing and maintaining an internet connection for several weeks. We had contacted our service provider, who had only been able to provide momentary fixes. Larry came over on a Saturday ( the next day),and determined that our computer was riddled with viruses. It was necessary for the PC to be taken to the shop for thorough maintenance. We also sent a laptop that needed some attention. Larry provided valuable information regarding future maintenance and upkeep of our Windows 8 system. Larry and his sons Matthew, and Steven are true professionals. They are courteous and respectful, and always run their business with customer satisfaction being their number one priority.

Our email was extremely slow so we contacted our internet service provider who suggested the problem may be our Gateway which was over 1 year old. After installing two new Gateways within 2 days the email speed still did not improve. We then called Larry, as we had used his services this past Fall, when he advised and assisted us in our purchase of a new computer. As usual, he was able and willing to remotely connect immediately with our computer to try to remedy the problem. When the problem could not be fixed remotely, Larry came to our office that same day and was able to fix our problem by adjusting the settings on our email. The next day when we realized our scanner/printer was not working, Larry again was able to immediately dial in remotely, and again come to our office that same day to fix the problem. Larry is a pleasue to work with, his pricing is fair, he is extremely professional and polite, and always ready to help. We would definitely recommend his services.

Today Steve and Larry spent quite a bit of time removing viruses from my computer. They were determined to fix the problem, regardless of how long it took. Great local company!

I just my position as office administrator in a small office when major computer problems occurred and the owner was travelling to Europe. Not a patient or rational person, she insisted that I find a computer person immediately to fix the problems before she departed. I looked on Angie's list and found SoHo computer service and Larry went out of his way to accompany our needs. Due to my boss' demands for ridiculous needs to the computer system, Larry spent an excessive amount of time at our business to accommodate her requests. He always dealt with these difficult situations with true professionalisms, above and beyond any expectations. The business hit difficult financial problems and Larry was always patient and understanding of the situation. Above, beyond, the reasonable and best services that could ever be expected.

It turned out to be a big job, and they had it for days. They kept me updated, did an excellent job of getting everything straightened out, and charged me $74 for services that would have cost several hundred dollars elsewhere. Since I'm a recovering technological moron, they had to do a fair amount of training around the changes they had made, and they did so patiently. And it should be said that I was in deep trouble and they accommodated me immediately. They also put virus protection, which I had thought I'd had before but in fact did not, on my computer for the first time. I highly recommend this company.

This is a family owned and operated company. I dealt primarily with Steve, who is not only extremely savvy, but very professional and polite. (He even helped carry my computers, back & forth to the car several times!) Steve seems to keep abreast of all of the latest technology and trends. He researched everything to find the most reasonably priced parts for me and recommended software that he knew would best fit my individual needs. Steve's service did not end with the repair of my machines, however, he took time to make sure I was educated as to what he had done and instructed me on how to avoid future problems. I also had limited dealings with Larry (Steve's dad;). He was also very polite and customer-focused. Overall, they are very knowledgeable and trustworthy! I would recommend them to anyone!

I joined Angie's List just to find a reputable computer repair service and I'm so glad that I did! Larry was so helpful on the phone and helped me make the correct decision to bring the computer in for repair. I honestly have never experienced this kind of professionalism from any other company. It was above and beyond! Many computer repair services charge by the hour and you can really never be sure of how long they're spending. I loved the "flat rate"! Only one part was needed and I was charged the exact same thing as if I had gone to buy the part myself. They could easily have marked it up but didn't. I just got my computer back and it's running like the day I brought it. There were so many things wrong with it and Steve repaired every last thing! He gave me frequent updates and always called when he said he would. I've used Comp USA to repair another computer and after many days and hundreds of dollars it never worked the same. I will NEVER use any other place to have my computer repaired or "tuned up". They get an A+ rating from me!

WOW! I've dealt with many computer stores and chains, but these guys are in a field of their own. Called me with updates. Finished promptly. Reviewed work before giving me the computer. Gave me their personal cell phone if they were on a call to ensure that my questions were answered promptly, etc. I am VERY pleased with their service. Their price is a little more than I am used to from other providers (an extra $30 or so), but in the end, the job is done on time and done right the first time; no need to return to fix the provider's mistakes. Thanks Angieslist for helping me weed through the mediocre techs out there!

It did not go very well. I have called multiple times and they still have my laptop and it still has not been fixed. It has been very hard to communicate with them. UPDATE: This was a miscommunication on my behalf. The guy who fixed my computer, did an excellent job regarding communication with the manufacturer. He did all that he could do. They did a fine job. We will go to them again, and recommend others to them. I have updated his grades as well.

Mr. Elias was calm and specific in giving me instructions to connect him to my laptop remotely and I could watch while he performed each activity which he also explained in a notepad window.

Very easy from start to finish. I called and described the problem. They were familiar with the issue and I brought the computer to them. Estimate was 2 days and it took 3 in each instance. The cleanup also resulted in increased speed as they cleared unnecessary files, cookies, etc.

Called store, went in with Dell tower that had major virus's and hardware issues from falling off table. They took it and fixed it up and got rid of virus's and here I am writing a review. Can not get any better,

We called provider and set up a date to come out to give a quote. He did not show up or call, and when we called him he said he had forgotten and would call us back the following week. Which didn't happen either ..

At the start of my son's fall semester at FAU his 2 year old Dell laptop decided to go on holiday. The folks at SOHO Computer performed the differential diagnosis (I had other people guessing at "bad mother board") and expedited the repair upon my request. The work was performed in compliance with their estimates (time and price), fixed the problem, and I was kept appraised of their progress as the repair process advanced. This is the third/fourth time I've used them for laptop repair and received excellent service. More importantly, for devices which are often difficult to repair, SOHO's efforts have always correctly addressed my stated device problems. Highly recommended (they're a little bit of a drive for me, but worth it).

The rep did a great job(I think his name was matthew). He discovered we had a problem with our modem, call ATT for me, ordered a new modem and showed me how to install it. He checked our router, showed me how to reset it as needed and then proceeded to check all of our computers for any malware, viruses, etc. He took the time to show me the best free software to maintain all our computers and showed me how to test our internet speed going forward. Super helpful representative, very patient and knowledgeabe. I would definitely recommend.

The SOHO team are my 'go to' guys for computer work. Fast, efficient and reasonably priced.

Once again they saved me time and money. Couldn't ask for more !!!

SOHO will be my go to computer 'guy'. Unable to cure my issue over the phone, probably my fault, I drove to their office. In 20 minutes, Matt was able to see my issues, took a couple of minutes to tweak my computer and offered some advice. I'm back online in no time. Thanks, SOHO
