Champion Window Tint

The wife and I wanted our cars tinted (Toyota Prius and Lincoln MKZ) Calling around to a few shops, this is the one that was the most professional over the phone. I went by their shop to check it out, and was met by Jaime. I was pleased to find they have a very clean vehicle bay for applying the tint, and they do computer cutting of the tint for an exact fit. Jaime explained the type of tint for my car that would not interfere with the electronics (such as Sunpass, remote door unlock, etc) and the legal tint limits for Florida. The Prius was first. I had some concerns over ripples on one of the windows, but Jaime assured me that this was normal and would go away in 2-3 days (it did). The next day, we brought in the MKZ for tinting, and at that time decided to have the UV windshield film applied to my Prius. Jaime advised that anything on the front windshield is illegal, but it looks clear and has never heard of anyone getting a ticket for it. The UV film blocked so much heat from the sun, my wife wanted it on her car as well, but we were out of time so we agreed to meet the next day (Sunday) at 10AM. They do work on Sunday by appointment only. Shortly after 10AM, Chris showed up and apologized for being late (it was only 10:02AM!) and did the window UV film for us. They applied a warning sticker to our window controls, to help against rolling down the windows for the first 2-3 days while the film cured. Also, we were warned to not wash the tint for 30 days. When I asked about turning on the rear defroster, Jaime said that is an urban legend, you can turn on the defroster immediately after tint is applied without harm. The type of film used (SunTek Carbon Series) has a limited lifetime warranty, so we were given a receipt with serial/lot numbers on it for warranty purposes. We were very pleased with the professionalism of both Jaime and Chris, and the work they performed. The film has absolutely no bubbles or dust trapped underneath. It is precisely applied to the window shape with no rough edges. One word of caution if you get the UV film: I had a Sunpass Mini on my Prius, which was applied only 2 days before the windshield film was put on. They (of course) had to take it off to apply the film. It was sticky enough to be re-applied to the windshield afterward. However, on my wife's MKZ was a Sunpass Mini and an RFID sticker for our community gate. Both of those were removed but didn't have any usable amount of sticky on them and had to be re-purchased. The tint for each car was $150+tax, and the UV windshield film was $75+tax. A little bit pricey compared to some other tint appliers for sure, but why take a chance with the lowest bidder? I can highly recommend them and will be returning to have my future cars tinted with them.
