About us
Brisk Air, Inc. technicians are highly trained and certified under the latest environmental protection agency guidelines and provide superior quality installation, service and preventative maintenance to our customers. We are an FPL participating contractor Brisk Air, Inc. is an authorized extended warranty and service agent for all leading brands and models. Our accounts include residential and light commercial customers.
They refused to come out without charging us. About five months ago we had the original installer come and check the system. At night I can hear a low hum. He could not hear it and tried to charge us a service call. When I made the arrangements, I reminded them we were under warranty. I refused to pay the charge. Later that week I spoke to the owner’s wife and she agreed to have their best person come out and check the system. I have had serious medical issues with my eye requiring specialized surgery. I could not make the arrangements until trying this week which I told their receptionist . I was told because five months had gone by, even though our system is under warranty, that they would charge us. We have been their customer for years. They have serviced our air-conditioners, put the new system in at a very inflated cost which they admitted because of their “great service”, they have cleaned out all of our ducts and I am shocked that they refused to come out. Of course they would come if we paid them. I noticed on Angie’s list that they are now a “B” company. I am not surprised. If you are looking for an HVAC company, my recommendation would be to look on Angie’s list and find another company. I’m sure there are plenty of good ones out there that would not treat faithful customers in the way we have been treated..

Being in business as long as we have we learn their are people who will say and do things to hurt your company evening thought the individual is trying to take advantage of the companies kindness. Lets start from the beginning. We installed a unit November 17, 2017. We actually went back 11/28/2017 to drop off a thermostat that was purchase but you didn't want installed at the time of install. We weren't advised anything about a noise till January 18, 2018 which you scheduled that appointment for February 2, 2018. 3 weeks out about a noise that was unbearable sounds like a fan is running. We send a tech out February 2, 2018. He checks everything NOTHING was found to be wrong. Normal operation noise from a unit. Policy for the company is if nothing is wrong with the unit a service charge is to be charged as it cost money to send a tech out to check a perfectly good unit. My dispatcher waived the fee as a one time courtesy. You then called the next day because you were upset over the charge that you weren't charge and wanted to speak with a manager. The manager was out of town the week you called and you received a call when she returned. That manager was myself. We had a great conversation you were adamant the noise was unbearable and that their was indeed a noise. After a 15 min conversation I decided to send a 2nd tech at no charge to give you ease that there is nothing wrong with the unit. We scheduled that appointment and it was cancelled Twice. The 1st time you were going out of town. The 2nd time we were advised you just got back from out of town and haven't had time to hear the noise. We went ahead and reschedule which again wasn't a right away appointment it was weeks out. Not once did we hear anything about a medical condition you then called FIVE MONTHS later to attempt to schedule the courtesy call I advised we would do five months ago. Here is where the problem comes to play if a noise is so bad and it is unbearable why didn't you allow me to resolve the problem same week? second if there is indeed a noise why didn't you still schedule the call when I advised if there is no problem we would have to charge a service call for going out? You can complain about our prices but not once did you decide to call someone else because you know the work we do is quality and our employees care and take care of our customers as they would want to be treated. As you stated their are plenty of companies out there tons that open up everyday and are willing to do things a lot cheaper, but will that company be around 5, 10, 15, or even 20 years later? Are they license, insured and all employees covered under workman's comp? Is the actual owner the license holder or are they being qualified by another persons license? Brisk is is owned by the license holder, we are insured and have workman's comp for every employee. We offer full benefits because we treat this as a career not a job. We send our tech to training every year to learn new products and to keep up with changes in the industry. We have financial adviser come in every year to advise where we need to be priced in order to keep our doors open. We are very much involved with the industry so we know we are not the cheapest guys around but not the most expensive. As far as the letter drop it takes 10-15 consistent A's to go back up to A yet 3-5 reviews to lower to B. We have 191 A's and 16 F's. Anyone who has common sense can see not every customer can be pleased and their is always a few who nothing you do can satisfy them. With that being said. We wish you the best of luck.

Work was done on time and done well. However, watch out for their pricing. I paid way too much. I only had 5 vents and they charged me the "up to 10 vents" price. When I called the office I got the canned response. "The price is up to 10 vents." So what? I have 5 vents. Seems to me a partial credit should have been offered. Will not use again. It's a shame to because I have several other homes that need this service. Will go elsewhere. The work was pretty ok - but I feel the pricing is a bait and switch. Just left me feeling taken advantage of. A real gimmick.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a response. I do have to disagree with you regarding "real gimmick" the coupon we have on Angie's list clearly states up to 10 vents. So whether it is 9,8,7,6,5 we charge the same amount. We by no means try to hide anything when customers call, email, text we give the same information. You have to understand we do not charge a service call or charge hourly with duct cleaning so whether it takes him 2 hours or 4 hours to clean your ducts its a flat price. We take proud in what we do and is why we go through each individual vent and take down each grill and properly clean. Other companies will go through one vent and say they cleaned your ducts. We purchase top quality equipment to ensure we can provide safe, efficient, quality work. Sorry you felt taking advantage of, but I can assure you we did not take advantage. We have been doing this for over 25 years and as you can see customers are very happy with our services. Should you have any other questions, concerns or simply would like to speak with some feel free to reach me at 954-463-7616 ext 100 I am the office manager here.

The price was fine. Well their service was pretty good. They recommended us to have our vents cleaned and sanitized. We were going to use them for that, their price was pretty good and they seemed to know what they were doing. But they forgot to tell us you couldn't have your dogs home when you did this. So I had to call to cancel and ask to reschedule, once I found out they couldn't be home. They were fine with that but they never called to reschedule.

I do apologize if someone in our office forget to mention no one can be in the home for 45 minutes after sanitizing is preformed. Our staff is advised and trained when scheduling or performing duct cleaning we must notify the customer of the process. I do have notation we left a message to reschedule however never heard back and void the call slip. If you are still interest I will be more than happy to schedule someone out to your home to complete the duct cleaning. The reason I looked for a specialized company is I have an air conditioning system that is a Lenox, which is not a common air conditioner in Florida. It's a very common air conditioner in a lot of places, but I wanted to find someone who was certified. They were excellent, and they're certified in servicing this specific Lenox five-ton unit. They give you the right parts is what I'm saying, and the warranties stay in place. When you use companies that are using popular names like Rheem and things like that, they try and substitute parts, and once you start doing that nothing works right. They offer a $179 two times a year visit in which they clean your water discharge pipes and put all your pressures in compliance, and give the unit a look over twice a year for 175 bucks. $175 for two visits a year includes cleaning and 21-point check on a restaurant air conditioner, so we subscribe to that now as well. It was $175 this week, because I did not have a contract. Now I have a contract and it'll be two times a year for the same price. I would certainly give him, on a 1-10 scale I'd certainly give him a 10. Honestly, they were excellent. They're not trying to sell me things. They're just giving me good advice on how to take care of my unit. What are serious problems, what not to use in cleaning it out myself, just how often I should change vents and air conditioning filters, what I should do to remind myself to clear the discharge pipes by using vinegar rather than any other kinds of chemicals, just the kind of stuff that a homeowner needs to know that they don't know. What I'd have done, I'd have poured chlorine down it, because chlorine is an excellent killer of everything. He said that also could do a lot of damage, particularly, whereas vinegar is a natural ingredient that cleans just as well and does not cause any problems and is very inexpensive. When people tell you that, they're not trolling for money. Honestly, I'd give them all A's and I'm not an easy guy to get along with.

We decided to just recharge the freon to save money. Maybe not the best choice in the long run because it ran out 3 weeks later just as we were about to close on the house. So we called them out a second time. Now they said the compressor had been fried so needed to do BIGGER repairs--or, better yet (in their opinion), replace the whole unit. The repairs would have been 1/2 the cost of a new unit, so we got a second opinion (from another provider on Angie's). Compressor wasn't fried at all. It was the capacitor. Fraction of the cost for their quote. Other guy did the repair for 1/3 the price--and all under warranty. Can't tell if Brisk was just incompetent or dishonest. Hard to tell these days. But maybe next time do a better job with diagnostics.
Description of Work: Problems with AC unit. They came out. Said there was a leak. But we're in the process of selling the house so didn't want to invest a lot into the unit. So we had choice of fixing the leak or just recharging the freon and hoping it didn't leak out too fast

We received a call to service a 15 year old unit in bad shape, homeowner didn't want to spend the money on replacing being that they were in the process of selling and it would become new owners problem. Our first tech went out and the unit was low on Freon. When a unit is low on freon it usually means one thing. there is a leak someone . may be the lines, can be coil could be condenser but a unit should never need freon. The owner decided to go with filling up the unit. Unit ran for about 3 weeks and customer called us out a 2nd time. 2nd call was a tripped breaker. Mind you usually when the unit is tripping the breaker it means SOMETHING is wrong. Owners still insist on going with temporary fix because they were selling the house. We than received a 3rd call. We went out yet again and this time the compressor was over heated causing breaker to trip along with unit low on freon. Our company takes pictures of all calls so the pictures of the gauges were uploaded to customer file proving the unit was low and over working. Never did the tech use verbiage of compressor being fried. The only two legit fixes to the unit was A.) repairing bad compressor or B.) replacing the unit. replacing a compressor on a 15 yr old unit is always a gamble and we always advise customer it is half the cost of the unit or a large portion or what a new unit would cost with no warranty. The best value would be replacing and having a factory warranty along with a labor warranty. Replacing the capacitor doesn't sound correct, but I'm sure if your still in the home you realized that wasn't the proper repair. 2.) there is no [Member Information Removed] in getting around the unit being low on freon so if he just changed capacitor that wouldn't have corrected your issues. 3.) you said replace capacitor under warranty. Your unit is 5 yrs pass the 10 warranty. are we referring to company warranty if the capacitor fails? I'm sorry you felt we were incompetent or dishonest remember you can find any company to do a temporary fix. At brisk air we do what is honest. we will not provided a service that we know will not resolve the problem. unfortunately us being so honest and the next company willing to do anything for a dime hurts the industry. I'm most sorry for the new homeowners who have no clue they are about to buy a house and will have to repair or replace unit as soon as they move in. best wishes

he replaced two fuses that cost 12 dollars at home depotand charged 50 bucks. He put in 2 gal of freon for 150 dollars. He told me the fuses probably blew due to low freon making the motor work harder. The unit ran for 1 week and then stopped running. I took a closer look and noticed that the heat exchanger was filthy and that is probably why it stopped working. For $200 service call, I would think he could have mentioned the filth and/or hosed it off. I called a parts place when the unit stopped working again and he told me it was probably the capacitor. So I hosed off the heat exchanger and put a new capacitor in and it is working. It seems like the contractor did the bare minimum while charging the maximum.

First and foremost I would like to take the time to apologize for the tech sent to your home. He is suppose to check complete unit not sure how a dirty heater got passes him as he was sent to diagnose the unit. Our techs are trained and are advised everything needs to be checked and any and all recommendation need to be added to invoice at the time of the call even if owner denies additional repairs/cleans etc. please note our office staff is here to help with any situation. if at anytime you are upset or have belief the tech did not preform the job correctly please feel free to call and speak with our office manager and or service manager. We are always willing to correct the situation if it indeed was a mistake made by our tech. We do appreciate your feedback as it is used for training purposes.

It was horrible. They only wanted to charge me after they did a job, and the work was not right! I put in a complaint, but they never tried to fix it. I ended up having someone else come out and finish it. They kept saying it was coming from animals in the attic. We later found out it was because a part they put in wrong. They worked really hard, and spent many hours working here. The owner was here working. After the work is when the trouble started. I called many other people but they refused to fix it, because it was such a new install! If it wasn't for the other company, it would have never been finished. I'm so thankful to Angie's List for giving me other referrals!

Thank you for taking the time to do a review. I do have to point out a few things that are misleading to other potential customers. the cost of your equipment was not $5000. Your complaint was air is not reaching your upstairs room. when it comes to air flow reaching some area and not others. It is usual due to poor duct work or damage to duct work. We offered to go by and diagnose the problem, however there is a fee to diagnose duct work. Keep in mind we have to send someone out to crawl through attic and figure out the problem. We offer free estimate for replacing systems but to examine duct work there is a fee. 99.9% of the time if a customer is requesting the estimator to examine the duct work they usual will for no additional fee, but in your situation this was way after install. We also pulled permit and passed inspection with no problems. Unit was deemed up to code and installed properly. You stated the other company said the problem was due to a part being put in wrong, but no parts were installed. You received a brand new complete systems and again inspector passed our permit. if in fact a part went bad you could have called our offices and we would have had no problem replacing the part under both labor and manufacturer warranty. With a new system install you receive 1 yr labor warranty and 10 yr on manufacture. I am sorry you feel the way you do. We wish you the best of luck.

The price is above average but the service, it's quality and if there is ever an issue he comes back out free of charge, explain things thoroughly I've actually face timed him for an issue and he told me exactly the issue was without even having to look at the unit, so he's personable, he's good, he's the guy that I would recommend to other people. They actually gave me some advise to call the manufacturer and the manufacturer actually refunded me a portion of my cost that I had them work on so they were very instrumental in a helping me with that situation. Very clean, very cleanliness, they come with vacuums they sweep up, they clean up, it's like they weren't even here.

Description of Work: I was told there was no angies list discount which I then checked on angies list and it said a 10% discount. I also was told I cannot have maintenance done because my coils are dirty and I needed freon which would run me a total of 1,000 approx. for both but if I chose not to do the services I would only be charged 85 dollars for the fees for detecting the problem since maintenance should not be done. I ended up being charged 115 and when I called I got simple run arounds and that they completed maintenance.

this house has a history documented power surges. Since installation in 2014 our company has been dispatched twice. The first call came shortly after the new installation, that promted the owner of the company to find out the problem after 8pm. Its was confirmed that a power surge had taken place shutting the compressor off on internal overload. The owner stayed and cooled down the compressor with water. Started up the system and check for proper operation. Upon inspection he found the breaker of the outside unit to be very hot to the touch. The tech put is amp probe on the unit to check for over amping. The system pulls very low amps and this was shown to the husband. The tech then showed the husband the hot breaker that he confirmed to be very hot to the touch. The tech open the electricl panel to tighten the wire connections at the breaker to be sure nothing was lose. The husband was informed to call FPL to install a surge protector on your home to protect his applicances. The tech also expressed if the breaker continues to trip that the breaker would need to be changed, for the breaker should be hot to the touch at all. The husband seem to be extremely pleased. The following dispatch to this home came the following year. The system had froze over because of terribly clogged air filter and needed to be cleaned. The ice melting caused the garage, while the system was off waiting for the the tech to arrive. Filter was washed and system checked to operating properly. The final call was place just this week by a very angry wife. The owner took the time to calm her down and a sured her that he will ho personally to check her system. The owner was greeted by a happy husband thankful for us stopping by. I asked if everything was ok? He said yes just for some reason the ac is not working. The owner checked the custom filter which has an arrow pointing the direction the filter should be in, in regards to air flow. The filter appeared to have been recently cleaned but needed additional cleaning. The tech took the time to started cleaning the filter, and mentioned it was found installed backwards, which isnt a big deal it happens. Went to the thermostat with the husband and said lets turn the ac on and see what happens. We both noticed the thermostat was set on heat and joked that thats why the system isnt cooling. We laughed and turned the unit on. At first the tech thought the compressor wasnt running because it was so quiet. Which he mentioned to the husband who said know its so quite i cant believe it. The owner of Brisk Air and the husband always held a good repore. Freon pressure check proper. Air flow was correct. The tech finished cleaning the filter as the ac began to cool the home. Once all was completed, the husband was shown the air temperature coming out of the Air Handler. Which has a 20 degrees difference compare to the temp in the house which is excellent. The owner then reminded the husband of his suggestion 2 years ago when he came to check the system late in the evening. The husband said your right i cant believe you remember that. At closure of the service call the husband began to apologize about his wife being as upset as she was. The owner responded with no worries I understand, just know we will always be the company you can depend on, we will never run away from a problem. The owner wrote up all that happened and all that was said. Was thanked and went on his way. As for the Air Handler in the garage always sweating. The temp coming out of the top of the air handler is in the 50s. Its hard to keep an Air handler that cold in a hot garage from condensating which causing the sweating. Thats a manufacturer issue, not the company that installs, and repairs them. But if this complaint was made evident before, we would have addressed to wrap the air handler with duct wrap insulation to help remedy the problem. We have and will always do the best for our customer. This bad review comes as a big surprise considering the consistent positive communications between the husband, who works from home, and the owner of Brisk Air. We have always went the extra mile, serviced on demand, and suggested honest solutions to any problems. As a company we understand the damage bad reviews cause to every employee and their family. We dont take that lightly. Even if reviews were not something to be held accountable to. We would operate the same way because we truly care.

I had a leak in my air conditioner. I had them repair it in January, at which time I purchased a one year warranty. I hadn't needed my AC for a month, and when I turned it on again, it still wasn't working. For him just to check it, he said that it would be $85, and then even more to diagnose it. This is after I purchased a one year warranty. He even said to me, "I'm not in business to lose money, I won't do this for free." So I told him to leave, and my air is still not working. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Description of Work: I had a leak in my air conditioner, and they came out in January to "service" it.

Good Afternoon, I apologize but I am not able to locate you in our system so I'm not sure if we are the correct company. I can tell you a diagnostic fee is $85.00 which if you decide to go with repair is waived and you just pay for cost of repair. If a unit is under warranty we do not charge a fee. If you were out of your 1 year labor warranty we would would charge the $65 service call plus labor and material. Please feel free to contact me at 954-463-7616 Jacklyn Andres office manager. Thank you

Awful! The Tech tried to speak in all technical terms that I didn't understand and was not helpful at all.
Description of Work: I will never use this company again! They checked out our system and said we needed to wrap the pipes on the outside to stop the condensation. They charged us over $400 and when this did not fix the problem they came back out and said our AC unit was improperly installed and charged us another service call.

Im sorry you feel the situation wasnt handled properly. Our first technician noticed the insulation around the copper pipes for your mini split were badly decomposed. If the original installation was done by our company plastic paintable line hide on the exterior of the home wouldve been used, protecting the insulation from decomposing and drastically improving the appearance of the installation. $400 to insulate the existing pipes and improve the current condensation problem was the best we could do with the budgets approval. A second tech was sent to an additional water leak call. This highly trained tech in his fourth year of trade college on his way to being a mechanical engineer was surprised to see the sloppy current state of the installation. The type of Chinese off brand used for installation, where there is no factory support, very difficult to work on and very difficult to get replacement parts can be somewhat of a turnoff. He suggested a clean start and charged a service call only, for the travel time and hour he spent trying to help the situation. The owner of Brisk Air, Andy, was made aware of the customers dissatisfaction. After speaking with the homerowner about his rental property. Andy wanted to make sure there wasnt anything else that could be done to improve the current situation. Andy had to break into the exposed Spackle used to cover the hole made from the original installation. What he found was an uninsulated wall cavity causing all the warm air within that cavity to be sucked into the air handling unit creating the condensation. Andy sealed that wall cavity with a thorough application of expanding spray foam insulation. Andy also noted and took pictures for the homeowner, exposing a bad weather strip around the front door. The Air Handler sits just above the front door, not something we wouldve done, because it greatly increases condensation possibilities. The leak behind the wall from the uninsulated wall cavity was repaired free of charge. The extra mile diagnosis and sending pictures via email that expose the poor weather seal constantly allowing the warm air from the outside to be sucked in by the air handler creating the condensation leak when the hot air and cold air meet at the air handler, was also free of charge. With a concern that this problem is beginning to cause mold to grow, because of the poor weather seal. Andy not only sent emails but also attempted to reach the owner many times by phone. In an email Andy was thanked but Andys attempts to reach out over the phone were not successful. The original service call from the second tech remained the owners responsibility to pay. The extra time spent by the owner Andy was given free of charge. In an attemp to show the homeowner. Brisk Air will never run away from a problem. We will always be dependable, honest and fair. At Brisk Air we truly care and will always go the extra mile to help the current situation as long as its fair to its customers and staff.

Juan was excellent. Called before arrival, accessed needs and gave me a quote. Sealed up return in garage that was in sad shape also return in ceiling. Had a $58 certificate from FPL so cost was reduced by that amount. The are now under the name Brisk Air. Will be calling them for all my AC needs in the future.
Description of Work: Sealed leaky return vents in AC unit. Had FPL come out and test, called B & B and they came right out.
