+ -1 moreI couldn't be more pleased with the job they did. Not only were they prompt and efficient, they communicated with me every step of the way and worked hard to get the job done on schedule. My floors are absolutely beautiful and worth every penny of the cost. I highly recommend this company and would definitely hire them again in the future.
Description of Work: I contracted with Alexander's to refinish my hardwood floors. I called them on a Thursday morning, Scott came out to give me a free estimate that afternoon, they began the job on Monday morning and finished on Friday afternoon. Their price was competitive with other companies.

This is a company you can trust and be amazed by how easily they glide through the work. I couldn?t be happier with the floors and the customer service is top notch.

+ -1 moreGot the job done. Sloppy in areas with overspill and when politely brought to owners attention he got defensive and obfuscatory trying to convince me of excuses I knew were not true. I have pictures to show the mess but I could tell he was going to be a pain so I just did the repairs myself. Not the worst experience but would look elsewhere next time.

Description of Work: I made an appointment for 5:30 today to meet the owner of the company to look at the job I WAS going to hire him to do which was refinish my wood floors in 3 bedrooms. I left work early to met him and when he didn't show up I called him and got voice mail. I left a message as to what was going on please call me. Ten minutes later his wife called and said sorry my husband wasn't feeling well today and we "forgot to call you". I said really you forgot ?? She said well I thought he would be better so we forgot. I said sorry I make it a practice to never do business with a company who porches me. She said what does that mean! She then says look at my ratings and I said I just cannot trust your company to do business with. She blew me off, called her husband and he had a miraculous recovery and called me and started to yell at me! Wow I guess he was well enough to call and give me a hard time but not to call and cancel! This is exactly what happened and what ever they come back with is total nonsense. Stay away from them, they would have had a $1600 job and blew it didn't understand they were at fault and blamed me!!!!!!!!! WOW is all I can say typical Florida company.

+ -1 moreThe Good : They gave a fair estimate. Came on time. Finished on time. Cleaned up after finishing. The Bad (once paid): the floor is uneven and needs to be leveled. We agreed on an additional price and set dates for them to fix. They did not show for several appointments to fix this issue (no call; just did not show up). Each time I called, they had an excuse, set a new time, but in the end, never showed. With so many other flooring companies out there, I wouldn't recommend this one!

+ -1 moreI have actually used them twice. I am happy with the price for both jobs. I used them again because I really liked them the first time. They were fast, efficient, and professional. they also did a great job. I wasn't as happy with their professionalism and clean-up this time. They broke a couple of lamps. We had to sand all the way down for the floors, and there was a lot of sawdust. Generally, they cleaned up, but not totally. I had to do some clean-up myself. I was disappointed with that. I also asked them to match my existing floors, and they totally did the wrong color at first. They had to actually sand it off and start over. They were okay with doing it, but I didn't think they provided enough professional guidance.

+ -1 moreThey are a small family owned business that takes pride in thier work. Scott explained the process very well and then did a very professional job. They moved funiture and cleaned up very well after the job. They even touched up the paint on the baseboards which was not part of the job. I highly recommend them!
Description of Work: Replaced section of hardwwod floor that was heavily water damaged. Then they buffed and applied two coats of sealer to three rooms of flooring.
