Terry is a perfectionist! We are so lucky we found him. We highly recommend True Cool AC to anyone that wants an honest, professional company to do a competent and correct job.
Description of Work: Let me start by saying that out of the 6 different AC companies that came to our house, Terry at True Cool AC was the ONLY ONE to do a 'Manual J' calculation for our whole house. (It's called a Heat Load, for every room in the house). He has such integrity, that he wouldn't even consider giving us a quote unless he did a Heat Load calculation First! He went in every room, the attic, the garage, and the outside perimeter, (because he had to take into consideration the exterior walls, the width of the eaves and the direction of the sun during the hottest part of the day, among many other things). He measured, calculated and plotted everything out. He drew up 3 different estimates for us, based on 3 different systems, to offer us choices. He got the job because he knew what he was doing, he explained everything to us, he rose to the challenge of meeting my husbands requirements for the AC unit, and he did it while I was shaking my head the whole time and saying, "No, this isn't going to work." Did he make a believer out of me! I've never seen anyone do a job so professionally, accurately and with such honesty, competence and care. We bought an American Standard HVAC system, with a 10 year Warranty, from Terry at True Cool. (American Standard and Trane are the same company). We needed a new AC unit that could offer Zoning, (adjustable cooling for different rooms/areas in the house). We had an 11 year old Trane (purchased from a different company), that needed to be replaced. It was one of those 'hanging from the garage ceiling' set-ups, (which is the absolute WORST place in the world for an AC unit in S Florida!) So this time we decided to get the best solution we could, plus get the AC unit off the ceiling and onto the floor. I was planning on building an AC closet in the house because I didn't want it in the garage again, but Terry showed us a new insulated exterior that does not sweat, even in the garage on a hot day. He was 100% correct! Our new American Standard AC does not sweat in the garage! Since my husband wanted a unit that could offer zoning, and since I said NO to getting a 'mini-split' system, Terry was able to configure a new system of split ducting in the attic, each duct (zone) is controlled by a separate thermostat, so we have 3 thermostats, for our 3 zones. It's perfect! We can adjust our zones to be any temperature, depending on where we want to be in the house. Instead of cooling the whole house 24/7, we can control the temp. during the night and day, to suit our comfort, and not pay FPL a fortune each month, for cooling the entire house to a set temperature, when it's not needed. But even when I do turn everything down low, this system is so efficient and quiet, our electric bill has barely been affected. I LOVE this system! We had 2 extra returns ducted into the attic/bedroom ceilings, to accommodate the zoning. The AC unit has a built in de-humidifier. We have never been more comfortable in our house. It's never too cold, too hot or humid. It's super quiet, and best of all, our $400.00+ electric bills went down to $150.00-$200.00. What's not to love about that?! Terry's crew was excellent too. Everyone was clean, on time, polite, knew what to do and how to do it. They got the job done, no errors, no mess, and super polite people. Rochelle, the secretary was very nice too. We knew this was going to be costly, (@16K), but after we did the math, including the lowered electric bills, we broke even at 6.66 years. (16K [cost of AC], divided by $200.00, [electric per month] = 80 months, or 6.66 years).

+ -1 moreRobert was extremely knowledgeable, and honest. He listened to my description of not just this instance, but other instances in which the same problem occurred. I explained to him that the original installer replaced the same part at least three times since I installed the unit in 2010. Robert explained to me that this part was not even necessary because the unit had an external breaker. In about 20 minutes he removed the old breaker and bypassed it, thus fixing the problem. I was so happy with the experience that I decided to start a maintenance contract with the company, And he did the maintenance right after the repair. He pointed out other potential problems in the condenser (the outside unit) and the air handler. Rochelle, the dispatcher, was also extremely responsive and friendly. I called her Friday morning and she was able to squeeze me into their schedule, so that by 2 PM, Robert arrived at my home. The whole experience was very positive and I am so glad that I found this company. I highly recommend them.

ADVISED WARRANTY WOULD PROBABLY COVER AND I WOULD PAY FOR LABOR . CHECK OUTSIDE PART FOR ADDITIONAL LEAKS FOUND NONE ADVISED ME THAT ROCHELLED WOULD BE IN TOUCH TO ADVISE ME WHEN THE PART WAS IN SO THAT THE COILS LEAK WHICH WAS IN THE UNIT WOULD BE REPLACED AND UNIT WOULD THEN BE 100PC PROBABLY WORK TO BE FULLY COMPLETED WITHIN A WEEK DEPENDING ON PART. VERY PROFFESSIONAL. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. JUST A BIT MORE ON LABOR BUT IF THE PROBLEM GETS SOLVED IT IS WORTH IT. LOVE THE STAFF AND THEY ALSO SERVICE ALL MITSUBISHI SLIM LINES WHICH IS HARD TO FIND EFFICIENT COMPANIES WHO KNOW HOW TO SERVICE THOSE UNITS. Description of Work: I made a service call on the 7th and the repairman came out on 1/8. He was very thorough and was able to fix my unit satisfactorily. I found the cost of the repairs was a bit high, but worth it as I felt that the quality was top-notch. The company also sent me an estimate which I found very reasonable and detailed. I was very satisfied with this company and would use and recommend it.

The brush that circulates was full of dust and dirt he completely took both of the unis and serviced in full at 225.00 each and they were saturated with dirt and dust and even had mold. Corey the technician was great he brought tarps and was super professional and cleaned all brush wired and coils and blew out lines of the two units. The third unit he completely cleaned and advised no need for the full clean up until next time as the brush wires were no full of dust. He however, did clean and vaccum and blew out all lines and the outside part of the units he checked to make sure in proper order. True pleasure and great professionalism and its not easy to find a reputable company that works with SLIM LINE HVAC SYSTEM. Rochelle, who scheduled appointment was right on the money with time and with the scheduling and Terry took the first call and had full knowledge of the product. Will not use anyone else to service my MITSUBISHI SLIM LINES. THEIR SERVICE IS GREAT.

Terry came out and repaired the damaged part while even providing a "senior discount" I was very impressed with his professionalism, compassion and knowledge. as my mother is elderly and hard of hearing, I wanted to be there with her at the time of service to make sure all went well and Terry was great about communicating with me via texts about his estimated time of arrival. All went well and I highly recommend this company!

I called Terry at True Cool A/C to schedule an appointment for Monday... He asked what the problem was, I told him. He said he could come out that day (SATURDAY)! When he arrived, he diagnosed our problem, fixed it and it did not cost "an arm and a leg". He was very pleasant to talk to, very professional, and I would highly recommend him to our friends.

He cleared the lines and provided advise of how to deal with this issue. This was the second time that we have used his services as he had replaced another unit in the house. He is very knowledgeable and professional. I'm also recommending him to very dear friends that need a/c replacement
Description of Work: The lines were cleared and the leaking stopped in a 2 ton unit that cools one area of the house. He noticed that even thought this unit was over 25 years it was running well so it did not need it to be replaced at this time.

+ -1 moreTypical situation - the air conditioning failed on a Saturday night. Sunday we called True Cool Air Conditioning and the call was taken by Terry. He came out that day - explained what was wrong and the different options which were available to us. At our first meeting with Terry, we were immediately comfortable with the way he was handling our problem. We decided to replace both units. Two teams of technicans arrived with the equipment on Tuesday. One installed the unit outside and the second installed the inside unit. While it took all day they were done by mid afternoon. The work crews were efficient, knowledgeable, and cleaned up after themselves. The difference in the comfort of the house was immediately evident. There is no question that he sized our unit correctly and that it was providing us with the quality of air that we wanted. We are confimred customers of this company and recommend them highly.

Although he was out of town and we needed to wait until he got back, once he got back he scheduled the job quickly. We are glad we waited because the job was done without any problems and without any aggravation.

Not only did Terry answer all my questions and provide excellent information he did it with honesty which is hard to come by these days with some contractors. He was very straightforward and to the point and that was appreciated. While it was pleasure dealing with him I unfortunately needed an AC sooner then he could provide . However I have no problem recommending him to anyone. My brother-in-law already uses him and trusts him for all his AC work.

+ -1 moreThe A/C unit was installed and working in one work day. A temp cooling unit was supplied while the work was done. Another full work day was required to comply with city permitting. The city inspector failed the electrical connection and it required several phone calls/complaints to have that fixed (6 weeks elapsed time). The thermostat had wide fluctuations in temperature and was replaced twice, the last time with the same brand to match the air conditioner. The unit leaks water slightly in the attic (discovered after 2 mo. and mold on ceiling underneath). Has been repaired once but still leaks.
Description of Work: Replaced split system air conditioner/heater. Repiped water drainoff and covered air handler duct with metal to comply with city permit regulations.

But when I asked him if my electrical box would handle the unit that they will be installing or will I require a larger electrical change, he had no clue about it. He came back and said that maybe I would have to upgrade. He was not very professional and did not know his business well.

+ -1 moreThey did a good job. They showed up right on time and the crew was professional while they were at my home. The only complaint that I have is that they had to come back out once to do some finishing work that they did not do the first time and they were supposed to be out a second time to find the cause of a small whistle. I have not seen them for that second visit. I would probably use them again in the future, my only concern is that it is a small company.

I have been using them for some time now, and I have been pleased with their prices and with the quality of their work. I would definitely rehire them again in the future, but I can't remember how much they charged me.
