SCAM SCAM RIPOFF signed a contract to replace garage door panel 2/17/24 for $1,100 paid $550. Called me 3/27/24 said panel came in but it was going cost an extra $550 for total of $1,650, I said I'd check around and got a bid today for $1,150 so I told them I was cancelling . The OWNER told me that my down payment was non refundable and that he was putting a LEAN on my home for the rest of the money , BUT DIDN'T DO THE JOB .

Make sure they mount the remote on the wall. I have had it for a couple of days and find I like it more every day I use it.

Great. The crew arrived on time as scheduled and promptly completed the work, answering my questions as they worked. My only disappoint met was that they could not replace the bumper on my door as they do not carry my type of bumper.

Garage door was very noisy. After tune up it runs smooth and is quiet.

Well. They had to come back three times because the opener broke at the end of the first service call, then they had to come back and it seemed to be working, but next day it wasn't so I had to call them to come again.

It went ok. The prompt response was excellent. Technician showed up on time and even called first. The work performed was good. The only issue, if you can call it that, was that I felt that I was trying to be sold things that I knew I really didn't need. I did end up having two other things done on the garage door which added up quickly. The door is much quieter than before and I don't have any bolts falling out now.

I am very satisfied - they got to my house within 1 hour of my call, explained my options and associated costs. I went for the complete overhaul - new springs, rollers, hardware, belt etc. Now my garage doors are super quiet and open easily. Yes, it costs way more than I expected, but after seeing amount of work and hardware required to perform this job, I think I got a good deal.

The work was of good quality and the technician left the parts replaced at the site. However, he arrived to the appointment before the scheduled time at which I was not available. He appeared to be annoyed because my schedule was not convenient with him. performed the services without me being present and did not provide a receipt for the services provided.

Service person was punctual, knowledgeable and direct. Assessed the problem and made recommendations. Provided options with costs for me to make the decisions. His work was done quickly and efficiently. He removed all broken parts and boxes.

They were professional, explained everything very thoroughly. They arrived as scheduled and kept in touch as they indicated they would. Best garage door opener I've ever had. No more LOUD motor that sounds like it will wake the neighbors.

They told me that the door needs to be replaced. It was okay. For what they did, I'd give them an A. The guy is very knowledgeable. They were there on time. He was right there when they said he was gonna be. I got what I paid more. They were responsive. The guy did good work.

Showed up as scheduled. Did a thorough job in a reasonable amount of time. Overall very good experience!

I was contacted within 24 hours. The first date chosen was a holiday for them, so they scheduled for the next day. We were told the work would be done between 2 PM and 4 PM. At 4:15 we called the company. They contacted the service person and called us back. He would be there in 15 minutes. He arrived 20 minutes later. He had stopped for a shower. I guess the last job was very dirty. He examined the door. He implied the springs would need to be replaced. He proceeded with lubrication of the door. His sprayer did not have a top, so I got out my WD-40, and he used the sprayer on his can of lubricant. We gave him permission to change the main springs. We did not watch him do his work. Approximately 2 hours later he was finished. The old parts were in the recycle bucket with the empty lubricant cans. I gave him a check and he departed. I took the sprayer off the empty lubricant can for my WD-40. The garage door has worked fine for the past 2 weeks.

I originally thought that it started out fine. Then as the job progressed, the technician determined that the initial price did not cover everything for the complete garage door overhaul and added $100 to the price of the job. After almost all of the work was done, the technician informed me that I could have done a lesser repair, costing $325, but "I would have had problems down the road". My issue is that I was not offered this alternative upfront as a choice, and although the original quote was for a complete overhaul, the price changed as the work progressed. I was not told upfront that something else might be found as the overhaul was done. Prior to completion, the technician asked to use my bathroom. After some time, he called to me that the toilet had overflowed. There was a flood of water all over the bathroom floor. The technician used towels from my closet and the bath rug to mop up. He then took $50 off the price of the job (which had been raised $100 from the initial quote), and left with an apology. Later that evening, after scrubbing the bathroom and washing the rug and towels, I wished that I had called one of the other garage repair companies in the area. I felt that the garage door was part of the security of my home, so I felt urgency to getting a repair done, but in retrospect, I would have been better off doing some comparison shopping. I indicated that I would not use this company in the future. However, the parts are under a 5 year warranty, so if I have a problem with the replacement parts, I may have to call them. I indicated N/A on quality because I am unable at this time to judge the quality of the work. The applicable ratings average out to an overall C-, but in all honesty, I would be hard pressed to this experience higher than an overall D rating. Since writing the review, I have spoken to others knowledgeable about garage doors and have priced garage door parts and other repair options.

The work was performed quickly and professionally. Credit for the prepaid deal was applied to the bill.

Tech was knowledgeable and prompt. I had called another company the day before and was told the opener had to be replaced even though it was only 5 years old and 3/4 hp. The other company gave me a quote of of over $1,500. Tech was there 30 seconds and had the opener working and showed me how to reset if again if power outage caused issues again. While I know the amount seemed high for what he did I was thankful for his honesty and not trying to sell me all new openers.

Sunday, I went to open my garage door, and it wouldn't open. I called Overhead Door of America. This is what to expect when you call them: They said they would try to get someone out on Monday (Memorial Day). So, I waited. They then called and said that they wouldn't be able to get someone out, but that they could be there first thing Tuesday morning, and that they would give me a discount because they have 24hour service, but they were unable to come out. I thought they would be here around 8 am. They called and said they'd be here between 10am and 12pm. They did show up a little after 10. After looking at my door, they tried to sell me a new door. . I told them my door was solid wood and I’d be crazy to get rid of it. So, they were able to fix it--They replaced the springs. The door needed a new battery. I asked how much that would cost. They said it would be $100. I called up another place and I was able to replace the battery myself for $28.32. He was going to make a big profit on that. If anyone calls for Overhead Door of America, I wouldn't recommend them. The guy that came out was professional and fixed my door, but in terms of pricing, you'd better have your lawyer present. I never saw that discount.
