Mike responded promptly after I purchased the deal on Angieslist. He met with me to discuss the job and to set up a date to complete the job. We picked the day with the least chance a of rain, and we lucked out with the weather. Mike and Julian arrived early on the agreed upon work day, and worked all day in the heat to complete what turned out to be a quality job in record time! I couldn't be happier with the result (see pictures). I plan on hiring Mike again. He was pleasant to work with and knowledgeable about all aspects of painting that he's picked up in his 20 year painting career.

The package was to include caulking and minor repairs, all exterior painting, washing and prepping of all surfaces, and labor. Paint was to be paid for by the homeowner. We ALSO had to purchase the caulking, the blue tape and papers for covering the windows. They were to start on either March 31 or April 1, but when I called Mike to let him know they could start on Apr. 1, he said they had another job to do that day, and they would start on April 2. They did start on April 2nd, but never showed up until almost 10 in the morning, and the same thing happened on the two following days. Mike did very little of the actual work, he left many, many times, especially on the first 2 days. He seemed to spend a lot of time on his cell phone, when the others were working. His "helpers', Julian and Marty, did 90% or more of the actual work, and they worked well. On the third day, when they thought they were done and were packing up to leave, we had to point out to them areas that needed to be touched up or finished. They also had to use our ladders which were in our garage, as they didn't seem to have any of their own. I also hired Mike to pressure wash our pool deck and fence, and we'd agreed on a price ($200) but the work was done by Marty and Julian, again. Mike told me at least 3 times during the course of the 3 days that he hadn't been paid by Angie's List yet, that Angie's List took 30% of his pay, and asked more than once about the price of the pressure washing. I told him that I paid up front for the entire job when I contracted him on Angie's List. We were considering having some additional staining or painting work done to the fence by Mike, but changed our minds by the third day. I feel that he may be having some financial stress, but that is not my concern with a contractor. I expect the contractor to keep his personal problems to himself.

Because they do such an excellent job, they stay booked in advance, so don't expect them to be able to begin the day after the estimate. My wait time was 5-6 weeks after the estimate. My first contact was with Tammy, who came out to do the estimate. She was prompt, courteous and very knowledgeable. She emailed me the estimate either the same day or the next day. She then scheduled a second appointment to bring me paint samples and assist me in choosing colors. I can't say enough about how helpful and understanding she was. Once the work began, the crew was always on time, very professional, answered any questions I had and they went out of their way to assure an outstanding result in everything they did. They were completely finished with the entire project in 4 days. I have used several paint contractors in the past, and Mike's is by far the best. Once they finished the job, they had me walk around the entire house with them to be sure everything had been completed to my satisfaction. I am very detail oriented and tend to notice even small flaws and in my opinion, they did an excellent job. I have absolutely no reservation in recommending them and will definitely use them the next time I need painting or pressure washing at my home.
