Our clothes washer is a Kenmore Model No. 796.40512900 that was purchased in early 2010, has had no prior mechanical problems, and is no longer under any warranty or maintenance agreement. I found Wright's appliance initially via an expanded Bing search after finding no satisfaction in my immediate area and prior to joining Angie's List. Jim Wright answered the phone promptly and professionally (no answer machine and waiting for a call back). He listened to my explanation, asked pertinent questions, and confirmed the model number so as to bring with him the part(s) likely needed. He explained the basic site visit fee & diagnosis would be $85. This was slightly higher (by $5) than a local competitor but the local competitor couldn't come for 10 days and Jim had an opening that afternoon. As well, he was not charging a travel or fuel fee to travel 35 miles or so to our home. Further, he explained that the initial $85 fee applied fully to the repair if we chose to use Wright's for the repair. Conversely, the local competitor stated their fee was only for the first 30 minutes. Jim arrived well within the promised range of time and complete the repair in less than an hour. He was professional in appearance and demeanor and even provided some helpful information like the fact that our particular Kenmore was a rebranded LG model (Kenmore doesn't make their own machines) and how to run just a spin cycle without a wash or rinse cyle, which was not explained anywhere in the owner's manual and is not intuitive merely by looking at the menus and controls. At the time of this review, I would not hesitate to call Wright's again for another major appliance repair.
Description of Work: Confirmed owner diagnosis of inoperable washing machine drain pump and replaced with a new one which he had brought with him after confirming the model number during the initial phone call. Exercised great care in disassembly and reassembly. Left the damaged part as confirmation of the work performed.
