This company only cares about money. Period!!!
I want to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service provided by this company. I have been a customer for almost 2 years and have increasingly felt that the company's primary focus is on extracting as much money as possible from its clients, rather than providing quality service.
Firstly, since hiring this company to service my pool, I have consistently been told that my pool is not working well due to its age, and that various components need to be replaced and this is when my pool was running perfectly fine before they installed new pump. The most recent incident that prompted this feedback was when my pool pump stopped working and this is a new pump they have installed last year. After contacting them, I was shocked to receive an invoice for $1424 for a service that I eventually managed myself. They didn't even stop by to see the issue but simply sent me invoice for $1426. It took me just one hour of watching YouTube videos to identify and fix the issue, and since then, my pool has been running better than it has in a long time. I was able to adjust the pump speed and schedules without any professional assistance.
Furthermore, I have noticed that since they replaced my pump, my pool has experienced nothing but problems. The company has consistently blamed these issues on the age of my pump and system. This approach is reminiscent of a car dealer suggesting numerous unnecessary repairs during an oil change and it is not a business model I am comfortable supporting when it is clearly they only want to bill you and make as much money they can knowing that you are not professional and you have no choice.
I want to emphasize that everything I have stated her is 100% true and can be substantiated with invoices and records. I have since found a much better pool service company that is extremely professional. My pool has never been cleaner, and everything is running smoothly without the exorbitant costs I experienced with this company.
Response from The Better Pool Guy
We try to go above and beyond for our routine maintenance customers. Offering free diagnostics and several options for repair. Our primary focus is keeping your pool water safe, healthy and worry free. That does sometimes require repair or upgrading your equipment as well as sufficient filtration run times.
To address your first point of concern. The new technology of the pump does not mesh well your automation that is aging out of service. We send our service technicians to several training sessions throughout the year. If you had contacted us regarding a non working pump or run schedules that needed adjusting, you might have been under warranty or reprogramming the pump is a FREE service we provide to our regular route customers. I do not show an invoice OR an estimate for 1424. Unless it was a warranty item generated under your account and was for informational purposes I am not sure what invoice you are referring to?
You mentioned that your equipment was running better than it has in a long time? Perhaps you have removed all the pieces of your broken, brittle maindrains out of the plumbing and valves. If so, I am Glad to hear it. I hope you have they have been replaced so that doesn’t reoccur. If not, this is a service that we would provide, at a labor cost (when our technicians perform labor, it costs the business money to pay them, so we relay these costs to the customer).
I am sorry that you feel we are recommending unnecessary items. The upgrades and preventative measures are all industry standards and are needed to efficiently run your pool. We have logs of several hours of phone calls and atleast one of those from the owner and a minimum of 4 hours of FREE service visits and call backs.
I would also mention that each time we left the property things were working properly except the things that needed a direct repair. If i am not mistaken there was an issue of little fingers on a spa remote that kept causing some issues as well. We hope that you found someone that is licensed and insured AND could meet your budget requirements.
We have never stated to anyone we are a non profit organization. We are in the business of generating a small profit, like most businesses. We do our best to adjust prices to the current economic conditions (i.e. inflation, vendor price increases, labor costs).
