Jeff did excellent work. Even picked it up at my house and dropped it off. (I was close-by.)

Jeff did a great job. The snowblower tune-up was done at a reasonable price and he provided some additional helpful advice on maintaining the machine that is not in the owner's manual. Excellent skills and customer service.

Like many snowblower owners, I don't think much about my blower until I need it. When I went to get it in late December during a big storm, it wouldn't start. I wasn't entirely surprised, as I had never taken the unit in for any service. (The blower is about six years old.) Jeff came the same day I called him and picked up my snowblower, took it to his shop, repaired it, and delivered it back to me a couple of days later. Given that his services were in high demand - i.e., immediately following a big snow event -- I thought this was an excellent turnaround time. He explained that the carburetor of the snowblower had gotten gummed up -- a combination of using oxygenated fuel, leaving gas in the tank in the off season, and using fuel stabilizer in the gas in the off season. He explained that I should NEVER use fuel stabilizer (as had been my practice -- adding stabilizer to the remaining gas in the tank at the end of winter) -- it does no good and may do harm. He also explained that I should only use non-oxygenated fuel (i.e., ethanol free) and gave me the location of a service station near my house that sells it. He recommended that I empty the tank at the end of the snow season -- either by siphoning it out or burning through the last bit -- to leave the tank empty in the off season. This, he said, is much more effective in keeping the carburetor clean. I have to admit I had a bit of sticker shock -- $96.00 for the repair on a small engine. But when I consider that he picked up the blower and dropped it off -- it requires a truck to transport it, and I don't have a truck -- and completed the repair and did it so quickly, I was happy to pay it. I would absolutely call Jeff again if I need snowblower or lawn mower repair.

Jeff is AMAZING! I called and left a message inquiring about a lawn mower repair. Oil issues brought my machine to a screeching halt. Jeff returned my call within 10 minutes. Picked up the mower 20 minutes later. Brought it back, fully repaired and cleaned, 90 minutes after that! I told him how grateful I was. I was only able to make it 5 feet with my push mower. He laughed and said, "Push mowers are for horses." I can't say enough good things about this business. Great guy and great service. Thanks Angie's List!

Jeff went above and beyond with this repair. He took a rather old and tattered lawnmower and restored it well enough for me to get a couple more years of use out of it.

Our gas mower was chuffing and losing power. Jeff diagnosed a probable cause immediately upon pick-up: we used gas containing ehtanol. During the repair, Jeff also discovered warping in the pump mechanism that allowed air to escape and to cause uneven performance. Jeff replaced the pump mechanism, gave advice on where to find proper gas, sharpened the blades, etc. It came back like new in 5 days. Jeff was pleasant to deal with, informative, timely, and affordable. The icing on the cake was the free pick-up and delivery. I would recommend Jeff to anybody needing lawnmower repair or maintenance.

Jeff was knowledgeable and efficient. He solved the existing problem quickly and advised me of a possible future problem that could be caused by using gasoline containing ethanol in the Honda mower. He was very generous in charging me a minimum amount since he was able to correct the problem in a few minutes while I waited.

Jeff came - same day - to pick up my snow blower. He showed me on-the-spot what the problem was. He had to order the part, which took some time, but fixed the blower as soon as it came. I have used his services several times for fixes and tune-ups on my mower and blower. Every time, he picked up same-day and did the job in a very short period of time - sometimes returned it next-day! Jeff is reliable, honest, and keeps his prices low. He's great at explaining what is wrong with the equipment, and gives advice on how to maintain it. I won't use any other service! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Jeff!

Jeff is a treasure. He picked up the snow blower, repaired it and returned it within a week . I can't tell you how much I appreciated the pickup and delivery as I don't have a vehicle that can haul the monster I am now ready for the snow we all know is coming. Thanks Jeff!!!

Jeff did a great job. He came to get the machine and returned it, fully repaired, in less than a week. Fixed the problem (clogged fuel line) and gave me a primer on how to care for it. He also recommended a gas station that sells non-oxygenated gasoline which should help prevent the problem.

One good thing about Jeff is that he picked up our snowblower. He was able to pick it up a day or two after we called him. He told us it would take about a week, however it took about 2 1/2 weeks for him to get it done. Other than the difference in the time he told us it would take and when he did get it done, our experience was positive. We haven't been able to really test the snowblower - other than when it was test started when Jeff dropped it off yet as there's no snow, but all looks well.

Jeff is awesome. He dropped by at a time that was convenient for me and picked up my snowblower. He collected a $30 check (cash would have been fine too) for the initial diagnostic, which seems fair to me. He dropped it off the next day and it starts on the first pull. Runs great. Had a great chat with him too. He's lived in the neighborhood for over 25 years and we knew a lot of the same people. Great guy and would recommend strongly.

The whole experience was well beyond my expectations - including free pick-up and drop-off for homes near his location. I really can't recommend him strongly enough. I wish all of my service experiences were like this. I called on a Saturday afternoon not expecting an answer. Not only was he there, he came and picked up the mower within 15 minutes of the call. He's an extremely professional, polite, and decent guy to deal with. He gave me a time and cost estimate that he stuck with. When he dropped it off, I was surprised to find an almost new looking mower. It was filthy when he picked it up and I had no idea it would be sparkling clean as part of the service. It started on the first pull and I actually mowed a patch while he waited. The service included oil, filters, blade sharpening, and some carburetor repair work. He concluded by giving me some very valuable tips on starting the mower -- especially in cooler weather. I think one of those tips would have saved me a few huge hassles last fall. I wasn't expecting pick-up and drop off. That was like icing on the cake as getting the mower in my car is difficult and causes a huge mess..

I am the person who filed the "Page of Happiness" nomination for this company and I must follow up. After using the repaired mower twice, it broke down. Jeff came to get it and repaired it again, explaining that another part needed repairing and that it might not be long for this world. He charged me for this second repair. One year later, the mower is dead. Wouldn't a real professional know if a mower were worth repairing at all? Should he have charged me for the second repair? Now I am out what I spent and have no mower whatsoever. That does not seem a good deal.

My electric lawn mower would not stay on, and there were no convenient options for repair. Faced with spending several hundred dollars to replace it, I found Jeff Thompson's listing on CraigsList. I called him. He was pleasant and informed me that with a $69 tuneup, he would get the mower running again. The same day, he came and picked it up. Two days later, he called and said it was done. He delivered it at my convenience. He had tuned it up, fixed the carburetor, sharpened the blades, replaced a bolt with handles, and cleaned the entire unit. It looked new. It started on the first try and stayed on. He gave me tips to keep it running. He was pleasant, accommodating, and he clearly enjoys his work. He did not even charge me for pickup and delivery.
