Future Home Integration

I spoke to the provider with our requirements and was steered somewhat into how things should be done. I did insist how I wanted things to be done and the provider accepted this. This is due to past experience in commissioning a home automation project. The provider revisited my home with some colleagues to measure up and quantify the work required for the job. I then received an eye-watering quote of $72,000 which in my opinion was significantly overpriced. Upon scrutinising the quote, I discovered that many of the items included had a mark-up of 100% (doubled in price), and many around that figure. The items in question were easily available through websites or on Amazon. The quote included items which I had explained we did not need, such as a media server, some internet switches and other equipment. Upon contacting the provider by email, it became more and more apparent that the provider did not like the fact that his quote was being scrutinised (although at that price, I'd be amazed at who wouldn't question it). I explained to the provider that although I am happy to pay fairly for time and expertise, I'm not happy to pay inflated mark-ups on readily available products. I also then explained to the provider that we are now considering an alternative system from a well known automation manufacturer (on sales in Home Depot and Lowes) and would they be interested in installing it. The arrogant response included the phrase 'We are not interested in a science experiment. It is nice to hear that with a little research on the Internet you are an expert at a trade that I have spent 15 years to become proficient at.' - I have retained the email thread for my records. We still have a budget of $30,000 for this project which has now been downsized and I'm bewildered as to why a contractor would take this attitude with me and expect such a quote to not go through some form of scrutiny. I will be avoiding this provider for any future work at this, or any other home I may move to, and I will recommending to my friends and colleagues that they do the same.

Nice guys, they do quality work because I had them do a smaller project at my house previously. Their quote for whole he automaton and the other projects were way higher than my other quotes. For example they quotes $8000 to install dock lights. I bought the best lights you can buy online and had them installed. The total was $2000. They quotes $6000 for landscape lights in the front of my house. I paid $1800 for the lights and installation brought the project to $2500 total. Cabinet lights quotes at $3000 which I had done for less than $1000. I was honestly offended by the prices quoted.

The team at Future Home Integration did an incredible job on the lighting upgrades to our newly remodeled house. We went with all LED's. It is amazing how the LED lights show the colors in my counter tops and tile so well. They told us at the beginning of the project how important it was to choose the proper lighting and they were correct. We also had a lighting control system installed using Lutron RadioRa2. We can adjust the lights from our iPads and these really cool keypads in the walls. When we get home, we just press "Welcome" and the whole house comes to life. Each area is set to just the right dim level. When I leave the house, all I do is press "Goodbye" on my keypad and all the lights turn off except a couple of lamps for the dogs. Everyone at Future Home Integration was a pleasure to work with. They were professional and thorough. I felt like they really cared about the quality of the end result and making sure that we were 100% happy. We would highly recommend them.

I called future home integration and met with Craig. Hew took me through all the options for the alarm system and home theater system that we wanted to have installed. We selected the items that we wanted and then the installation date was set aprox. 2 weeks later. His people showed up on time and the installation went smoothly as Craig had said it would. All equipment works perfectly and we are very happy. We would gladly recommend Future home integration to anyone wanting quality service.
