The pricing was average, not too expensive. Quality of work was good, no complaints there. However, customer service is subpar. You should beware of any "no big deal" spoken promises outside the official quote. Harry came to give me a quote on tile installation in my family room. While showing him the project request, I showed him two tiles that needed to be replaced right next to the family room and he agreed to change it no cost, as it was no big deal he said. This was a specific item I requested and he even explained how it cracked because the builders laid the tile too quickly because they rush to get the construction completed. During and after installation however, since it was not included in the quote, it was not replaced. Conveniently Harry forgot even speaking to me about the tile repair after we spoke about it on two separate occasions, and they claimed they never made that promise.

Extremely helpful from start to finish. We're from the UK so had to arrange everything through email for our holiday home to be tiled. Devan was very patient in answering all our questions. Darrell, the tile installer, did an exceptional job and was very polite and left the place clean after each day. We'd highly recommend Frank Hollinger Family Flooring to anyone!

Job began on October 17th 2013 and still isn't finished. Installers were nice men but inexperienced in laying wood flooring. I halted the job after the first day when our office had stair steps from the doorway across the room to the window and same size pieces were laid side by side. They made 'repairs' which caused more repairs to be needed. Hollow spots, scratches from carelessly placed tools and damaged wood either side of the pieces they removed to repair. In the living room I was left with a hump in the middle of the floor in front of the sliding doors. Repairs in the living room to reduce stair stepping that ran over 10 ft again left me with hollow spots and wood raised 1/8" above the rest of the flooring that bounces when you walk over it. The company agreed to install custom trim pieces so we wouldn't have joins in the trim. There were endless mistakes. The wrong trim was ordered, the repair guy cut the custom trim too short so more had to be ordered, then his blade was too dull to cut back the wood where the original installers had left it too close to our tile so we have deep gauges in the floor at the transition where a dull blade bounced around. Frank Hollinger, the owner, and his crew continuously promised they would make good on this but never did. There were never any viable solutions. They 'injected' glue under the hump and weighted it with everything from tubs of glue to my chimnea from my yard. The installers suggested 'nailing' the wood into the concrete to reduce the 'hump'. The manager quickly assured me they wouldn't do this when I called him tell him my concerns about this method. There was alwasy a week or 2 between 'visits' from repair men. One week we arranged for them to come out on a Friday at 9am and at 9.36am I received a call from the manager Mike telling me he had forgotten he was going away for the weekend and that he was already on his way to NC so he couldn't make it to my house that day. The last I saw or heard from this company was when they brought out more trim to install. It was almost jet black in color. Our flooring is reddish brown. Additionally it was oak. Our flooring is birch and they had already installed some trim in maple. Perhaps if the color had been right we would have settled for oak trim but it was so dark even the installer was embarrassed. After it took 5 months to almost complete a job that should have taken 3 days I think I can safely say I wouldn't recommend this company. The wood needs to be removed in order that the concrete underneath can be properly prepared and leveled for wood installation. Employing this company was an expensive mistake to make.
Description of Work: Installed engineered wood flooring in home office, living room & dining room.
Harry in the sales department was easily accessible, very honest, and very friendly. The workers, Abdul and Carlos did a high quality job, and went out of their way to get the job done the right way, and on time. I would use them again, and recommend them to anyone getting a quote on tile installation.

We had a great experience with Frank Hollinger and Son. Frank came to the house with his bus of many samples of tile and carpet. We were able to bring them into the house to see how they would look. This was a plus. Frank was very knowledgeable and helpful. The guys were always on time and worked late every day. They started the project a couple days early which made us happy. Jim did a fantastic job on the tiling. It is obvious that he knows what he is doing. I enjoyed talking with him on several occasions. we hope to have our bath tiled and would use no one else but Jim from Frank Hollinger and Son.

The job was completed in the designated time. We were very pleased with the workmanship of the installers and the appearance of the floor once the job was completed. All of the installers were friendly and worked closely with us on the project. They also dealt with a tile problem in the master shower to my satisfaction. One tile installer made a recommended change for the flooring in the bedroom/office area. We took his advise and are extremely pleased on how that floor appearance and installation came out. I have been very impressed with this company and the service they provided
Description of Work: Initially they came to our home in a large bus that contained a large variety of different flooring products. this allowed us to pick the product we wanted and brought samples into the home to see how it would look against other furnishings in the home. Thgey furnished and installed Rodano Mix Tile on back porch. Installed 24 in tiles in 3rd Bedroom/office. Removed and replaced broken tiles in three bathrooms originally installed by builder. Completed a re-grouting of existing tiles in kitchen area.

We selected our laminate at the store in Clermont and the boss (Frank) came to our home to discuss and quote the job. He explored options and, when asked, offered his opinion re the problem areas. I asked for references in my area and when queried they were very enthusiastic about quality issues. One reference stated that his prices were below others in the area. I was mainly interested in quality not penny-pinching. On the scheduled date a four man crew appeared at 9 AM, moved all the furniture out of the room and proceeded to chip away the ceramic tile. This is a very dusty job and they made a valiant attempt to control the dust. All the debris disappeared. They made a start on laying down the laminate on Monday and were back to finish the job on Tuesday. At the end of the day all the furniture was back in place. The quality is excellent. I would not hesitate to use this company for any other projects of this type.

We did this project well over a year ago, and no longer live in this home, but I still think about our experience and thought I should write a review, since we found them on Angie's List in the first place thinking they would be great. We had a very bad experience with this company. We were sold porcelain tile for the seamless nature of the product, but the install was extremely sloppy. We would constantly trip over the seams of the tiles because many of them were installed unevenly. We had also stressed the tight timeline of this project to get completed over a specific time period. It did not meet the deadline, and we never saw any attempt by the installers to arrive earlier than late morning or stay later than 3-4 pm every day. They ran out of tiles, and had to order more, which delayed the project finishing on time even more. To make up for it, they tried to sell us on a different tile that they had in stock instead of the one we ordered - who would ever agree to put in mismatched tiles? Therefore, we had to wait for new tiles to come in because they didn't order enough to complete the job. Lastly, these people p***** on our house - literally. One of the workers went to the bathroom on our home, in front of our next door neighbor, and it left a huge yellow stain on the side of the house. Our next door neighbor come over and let us know immediately - it was disgusting and embarrassing. I could go on with other issues, like how they ruined several floor boards, ripped the paint off the wall taking off the floor boards, and left the installed tiles filthy, but that should give you the overview. The only reason we do not give them an F for this job is because Mike came out and spoke with us regarding our issues, and he was a reasonable person who seemed to care about the job and wanted to make up for what he could, such as the paint, cleanliness, floor boards, but at that point there was little to be done and we wanted to be rid of these people from our home. I will say they did clean up the huge urine stain too, and Mike was visibly embarassed for their staff's behavior. He also only came out because we insisted on speaking with Frank (the owner who sold us on the tile and project), but we never saw Frank again after hiring them initially. No one from the company took initiative on their own to ensure we were satisfied with the project. About a week or 2 after everything was completed, we got a message from one of their employees on our machine saying "I'm calling because you said you wanted to meet with Frank and have him come over." That was just the icing on the cake.

I hired Frank Hollinger and Flooring to install travertine flooring in the kitchen, laundry room, and pantry area during a kitchen remodel. I supplied all the flooring and materials and just needed the labor. I was at first given an estimate which was several hundred dollars more than what I had been quoted by other companies. I explained to Frank that his estimate was not competitive with the other companies and I informed him of the other quotes. Frank was unsure if he could match the estimate but stated he would get back to me. Approximately 20 mins after leaving my house he called and said that he could match the estimate. After that I never received a call informing me when the work would begin. In fact I had to call their office several times and was told A date that the installer would start. The date came and the installer did not show up which irked me since I had taken the morning off of work to be there to let him in. My sister in law was kind enough to stay at our house and the installer showed up after lunch time (was supposed to start at 9AM). The installer worked a few hours and returned the next day, worked a few hours and left the house around 3PM. I was told the installation would take approximately 3 days. After the first two days I realized that this install was going to take much longer than that. I also noticed that the quality of the installation was marginal at best. To ensure that I was not just being picky I called a friend who was a contractor but unable to work due to a medical illness. He looked at the floors and informed me I was not being picky and measured the gaps in the flooing to be greater than 1/16 of an inch. In some areas the height difference was 1/8 of an inch and at once corner was 1/4 of an inch. I spoke with the installer about the uneveness of the travertine to which he became offended and argued that the install was fine, sliding his level across the tile to show me it was level. I then showed him where the tiles were not level and were off by more than th 1/16" of an inch they should be. To demonstrate this I slide my cell phone from one tile to another and it flipped when hitting the next one (should not have happend). At no time did I see him use a tile puck to check for eveneness. The installer blamed the uneveness on my floors to which I told him that was why the mud goes underneath the tile. The installer then accused me of walking on the tile before it settled (nobody was home to walk on the tile overnight). I told the installer he would either fix the tiles or he could leave my house. i then called the owner who stated he would take care of it. The next day the installer arrived and apologized and stated he would fix the uneven tiles. The 3 day job ended up taking about 8 days because of a holiday weekend and the fact that the installer never seemed to be in much of a hurry to finish (he never stayed past 4pm). In addition the transition between the tile and the laminate flooring he brought was the wrong color. Instead of going to the shop he asked me if I wanted to use the one he brought (wrong color floor transition) to which I said No. He left the transition piece with me and wrote down his cell phone number on a scrap piece of paper and told me to call him later in the week and he would bring another piece and fix it in between jobs. At that point I was tired of him being at my house so much that I just took the number and never called back. The only reason I rated them Fair in professionalism and not any lower was the owner of the company did seem to correct the issues with the installer immediately and was very professional when providing the estimate and explaining the job to me. We ended up continuing the flooring into the living room area and I hired another contractor for that portion. Not only was that contractor cheaper but his work quality was noticeably better and he laid more square feet in less time. The installer did inform me that the company does not install many travertine floors which may have been the cause of most of the headaches. I never contacted the owner after his installer left and was never contacted by the company either. Overall I probably would not hire this company to do any more flooring and will stick to the contractor that installed the rest of the flooring.

It went very well. From the time of the estimate to the completion of the project my home and I were treated with respect. Because they have a showroom and a Sample bus it was very convenient to choose tile. They were very helpful with design aspect and respectful of my budget. When removing tile and carpet they covered every thing left out in plastic. The installers were very efficient and punctual. They also took good care with my home. At the end of the project it was inspected and all was fixed to their and my satisfaction.I will be having them do my bedroom carpets in the near future.

Frank Hollinger & Son Flooring was very professional. They helped us pick the appropriate flooring for the room. There was no hard sell. Once the flooring was decided on they scheduled a time to measure the room and schedule a date for installation, which was within a couple of days because the flooring had to be ordered. Work was completed within two days. Cleanup was immaculate. They left instructions on the care of the flooring. The two installers were knowledgeable and friendly and work very hard to give us a great floor. Payment was made in full only after all the work was completed.

They installed a wood floor (purchased elsewhere) in a living room. This installation was very good with some sloppiness at the end of the installation that was remedied when it was brought to their attention. They also installed a ceramic tile floor. I was disappointed in the installation of the tile floor. There were quite a few areas that the tiles were not level to one another, although they did keep the joints straight and true. The problems were solved to both of our satisfaction. I would like to say that they were prompt and courteous throughout our relationship.

A number of hours later, Derek finished the job. We have had a number of guests visit us since the tiles were installed. So far they are holding up well. Thanks Joe, Derek, Mr. Hollinger, and ?Angie?s List?!
Description of Work: We noticed a couple of tiles had loosened up in our hallway, some months back. We called Frank Hollinger & Son Flooring, Clermont for an estimate to replace the tiles. Joe arrived as scheduled on Friday October 29th and said we had to replace several additional tiles surrounding the pair as they were somewhat loose as well. He wasn’t sure why they had loosened up…improper installation, or were affected by the record cold spell we had last winter. Tiles contract & expand, and in close quarters like hallways may become problematic. He gave us an estimate and we subsequently authorized the job. Derek arrived promptly as scheduled on Tuesday 11/02/10 to install the tile. He thought there were even more tiles that should be replaced than originally estimated. He checked in with the company, and with me, and we jointly decided that the installation should continue on with the added tiles as Derek had suggested. Mr. Frank Hollinger came by to observe the proceedings and informed us, in an aside, that he had originally installed tile for the developer of the community’s homes when they were first built a number of years back. Since our original estimate was off by a few additional tiles, he gave us a discounted price from the original estimate. He did not have to do this, but it was nice of him to do so.
