Description of Work: Please disregard the F. It turns out I Had his phone number one digit off and was leaving messages on someone else's phone. We were able to connect thanks to Angie's list and talked making arrangements for the installation of my cabinet. He has always been courteous and responsible which was why I found the non response unusual. He does NOT deserve the F

Description of Work: Ziggy and his crew just recently finished remodeling my kitchen. They basically ripped out my entire kitchen(including ripping out the cabinets, the floor, the soffits, and the counters.)Installed were state of the art cabinets, ceramic tile floor, granite counter tops and a new sink. They also ripped out a wall separating the kitchen and living room and made an open counter area where I'm able to put bar stools in the living room. They also installed recessed lights for me in the living room. They cleaned up after every day. This was all done for under $16000. Ziggy know exactly what he is doing as I let him pick out the floor and the cabinets. They are very professional. The kitchen came out better than I ever could have expected. I will definitely have them come back and remodel my bathroom. I highly would recommend them if you are thinking about having your kitchen of bathroom remodeled.

Description of Work: Showed up about five months ago from snap fix group, then proceeded to tell me he was extremely busy, that it would be a month. I have called him repeatedly. Over the months he has made several appointments and promises and never showed. Last Thursday I waited all day for he and his carpenter to show. No call, no show. Wouldn't the professional thing to say is that he did not want to do the work instead of keeping me hanging. He took a piece of wood that I really need to complete a frame. Very poor treatment.

This Inspection was done on April 19th and she posted review in September? I am assuming because her insurance company did not reduced her premium. I have learned from this, and this review is a perfect example of why we don't sell that particular Big Deal any more, members expected that my inspection would reduce their premium.

See above. My husband and I were very involved in making selections on products, as well as design. Although Ziggy is fully capable of doing the job with no input, he also worked well with us and was very tolerant with our being involved in design and selection of products. He has good taste in selecting products himself and offers suggestions if he thinks something may not be the best choice. He is particular about his work and if something was not done to his standards, immediate corrections were made. When issues presented, he worked until he had them resolved. Although the job took a bit longer than expected, we are extremely pleased with the result. We were able to go to a local vendor to select our products and Ziggy picked them up for us. I called Ziggy multiple times regarding the job and all calls were returned promptly and he answered all questions, patiently accepting that I wanted to make various changes to the original plan. Ziggy works hard to make the job something that both he and the client will be proud of. I love my new bathroom.....simply gorgeous and functional, as well!
Description of Work: Ziggy did a complete bathroom remodel. Our bathroom was the 1980's original and very much out of style. We had the bathtub, counters, toilet and sink replaced. The bathtub I selected was out of the ordinary and Ziggy worked until he had a solution on the installation. A door was taken out, along with the adjoining wal, and the ceilings were raised with new vent and lighting installed. The tile floor was taken up and a new and stylish travertine floor installed. The surround on the bathtub/shower was replaced with beautiful travertine tile with decorative cut outs and glass accent tiles installed. A new toilet was installed, all wood cabinets and medicine chest. All extras such as toilet paper holder and towel rack were installed. The wallpaper was stripped and bathroom painted. The bathroom door, as well as all hall doors and closet were replaced and new hardware installed. Dimmers were installed on all lighting.

I am extremely please with the service provided. It was performed on time and within budget. My neighbors had a similar problem at their house and they already contacted him for the job. You could not meet a nicer guy. He was always there when he promised and returned all my calls promptly. I would recommend his services any time to anyone in the future. I am already considering re-roofing my house and I am thinking on Ziggy for the job too.
Description of Work: The main window at my kitchen was not installed properly creating a leak inside my house every time it rains. The tropical storm Debbie made it impossible to continue procrastinating the repair.

They started the remodeling of my bathroom 5/28/12. They finished the remodeling of my bathroom and today (6/7/12) finished installing the pedestal sink, two medicine cabinets, and light in my second bathroom and the drywall repair on the wall in my living room. Everything looks absolutely wonderful.
Description of Work: Ziggy and Mark finished completely remodeling my first bathroom. This week they installed a toilet, two medicine cabinets, a pedestal sink and a light in my smaller bathroom. They did a wonderful job. I had a place in my living room outer wall which needed repair. Ziggy put cinder blocks on the outside and drywall on the inside. He also did a wonderful job on that. I am very pleased with all the work they have done for me and I recommend them highly.

Ziggy and Mark arrived 5/28/12 on time at 8:00a.m. They told me Mark would be removing everything in the bathroom. The first day Mark removed the old tile above the tub and the tile on the walls outside the tub. It was all quite heavy to remove but he did an excellent job and kept everything nice and neat. He was very quiet as he worked going back and forth from the house to the outside. He removed the sink, the cabinet above the sink, the toilet and the cabinet above the toilet. He worked continuously without taking any breaks. A very hard worker. I don't know all the proper words to describe what he did but after removing everything he prepared the walls so that they could be tiled. He removed all the tile on the floor . I have a totally all new absolutely beautiful bathroom. I am so pleased. We picked white tile and a beautiful pattern to edge around the tub and outside walls. It all looks so beautiful. He put in a pedestal sink and a white medicine cabinet above the sink. He installed the toilet and is going to install a cabinet above the toilet so I have storage space. My bathroom is small and I needed some storage. He has a Martha Stewart light that he will be installing , a shower rod, toilet paper holder and towel rack. Ziggy was here on and off and helped with the tile in the bathroom. He is also going to buy a bathroom door, paint it and install it. Throughout, Ziggy helped me with picking colors and I asked for his suggestions. He wanted to make sure I was happy. Both Ziggy and Mark worked in my kitchen. My daughter and son bought me a dishwasher. Ziggy had to remove the sink, get me a new sink, new cabinet and new counter that would fit with the new sink and over the dishwasher. They did a super job. Ziggy is also going to put the toilet that came from the other bathroom and put it in my second smaller bathroom. He is also going to cover an outer wall in my living room that has to have concrete on the outside wall and inside wall covered.
Description of Work: Ziggy and Mark performed all the work. I have a bathroom that was in desperate need of a lot of work. It had not been remodeled in over 30 years. Ziggy and Mark tore down all the tile in the room. Ripped up all the tile on the floor. Removed the bathtub, sink (which was in horrible shape) and removed two cabinets and the toilet. It was left an empty shell. They also installed a dishwasher my daughter and son got me. They had to rearrange the kitchen to make room for the dishwasher. They are also going to install a toilet in my other bathroom and cover an outside wall in my living room that has been a hole for many years.

It was clear from the start that Ziggy takes great pride in his work and wants to provide a high quality, professionally finished product for his clients. Along with updating the look of our condo, we wanted to maximize space. Ziggy was very helpful in the design phase of the project and made several great suggestions to help us add space in the kitchen and bathroom areas. He also provided samples of tile, granite, and cabinets from suppliers he had relationships with which saved us both time and money. Throughout the remodel we found Ziggy and his team to be professional and hardworking. If we ever had a concern about the way something was done, Ziggy would work on the issue until we were completely satisfied. The results of the remodel are beautiful and we very pleased with Ziggy's work.
Description of Work: We recently hired Ziggy's Perfect Home Solutions to do a complete remodel of our 1,100 sq ft condo. Based on our experience, we would highly recommend Ziggy and his team. Ziggy was actively involved in all phases of the job from the design plan to the final finishing touches. Work that was completed throughout the condo included travertine flooring, crown molding and baseboards, removal of popcorn finish on ceilings, addition of textured finish on walls and ceilings, new doors and door frames, installation of ceiling fans and light fixtures. Additional work completed in the kitchen included removal of two walls to expand floor plan, removal of drop down ceiling with fluorescent lighting, moving electric and plumbing to relocate the refrigerator and dishwasher, new bar height eating area, custom cabinets, granite countertops, and installation of appliances. Additional work completed in the bathrooms included removal of drop down ceilings with fluorescent lighting, installation of LED lighting, removal of walls to expand shower size, tile and glass doors to finish showers, replacement of toilets, custom cabinets, and granite countertops. Ziggy also installed a hot water heater, replaced the windows and sliding glass doors, and installed a new front door and screen door.

Ziggy is always so professional and does such good work in a speedy manner at a good price. I would highly recommend him to my friends or anyone who needs work done.
Description of Work: Ziggy took down the plastic sheet covering the fluorescent light from my kitchen ceiling. He designed and replaced my ceiling. He boxed it in with molding, painted it and installed a light for me. He also added 7 LED spotlights around in my kitchen. It looks beautiful and I am so pleased with it. On 3/8/12 came over and changed some of the light bulbs to give me more light. He also changed the filters in the reverse osmosis water filtering system he installed earlier.

The work took a bit longer than expected but as with most renovations, some things were not discovered until the work started. The contractor was prompt in bringing problems, issues to our attention and did so BEFORE continuing any work. He was dependable and showed up when he said he would. He also communicated well with us and with other contractors working on the job (fire alarm system). All of his workers were respectful of the church environment - very important point. The work is all quality work and resulted in a professional finish. He was patient in dealing with us and the frustrations of the complications that arose. He went above and beyond to obtain permits for the work, and worked well with the city inspectors. We will continue to use him and already have other projects in progress.
Description of Work: We had a building in need of some minor renovations and major cleanup/refurbishing. The building in question is 7400 square feet. The work performed included: 3 new A/C units, new duct work for one A/C system; refinishing 3400 sq ft of oak hardwood floors; renovating kitchen area with new cabinets, countertops; installing new fire doors; installing new fire-separation ceiling; installing new light fixtures; repairing old light fixtures; building 2 new bathrooms (handicap-accessible); installing all plumbing - new and existing repair; installing floor tile; repairing windows; building closet enclosure for electrical, fire, and A/C equipment; installing new garage door; patched and painted walls and ceilings in 3/4 of the building; installing new handrails for stairs per building/fire code; repairing soffit as needed; obtaining all permits per city building and fire codes and final inspections.

We are very happy with the work done. Ziggy and his assistant were very easy to work with, very friendly, good-spirited, and professional. Ziggy takes a sincere interest in the final product looking beautiful. He cares that it look beautiful. In the many instances along the way in which my wife and I had to make a decision regarding design, layout, aesthetics, etc., Ziggy was always very helpful and thoughtful with good ideas and recommendations. He was open to our ideas, but was willing to share his ideas, which we appreciated and usually went with. He was very flexible, able to make changes when unforeseen obstacles or issues arose. I think it speaks to his experience and know-how that he was able to deal with unforeseen circumstances very well. He had good suppliers and sources for materials and items. For example, he was able to find a window last minute that was a perfect fit and look. He had a vanity custom-made to fit the dimensions we needed, and the design and color we wanted. While the vanity was being built, he realized that the price we agreed on (specifically for the vanity) was less than he would ultimately be charged to have it made by the third-party craftsman he enlisted for that job. Knowing that we had already agreed on the vanity price, Ziggy was gracious in not charging us the difference. The vanity is well-made, as were the matching cabinet doors he had made for the two built-ins in the bathroom. One of the best aspects of working with Ziggy is that he added finishing touches that we didn't even think to think of or to ask for, and we liked all the choices he made for those finishing touches (for example, the light switch, the marble threshold, the marble ledge, the spotlight above the alcove/niche he created, the doorstop, and the air-conditioning vent register on the floor). I highly recommend Ziggy for bathroom renovations. When we save up some more money, we'll ask him to do the upstairs bathroom.
Description of Work: Complete renovation of downstairs bathroom. Demolition and disposal of old bathroom, including large shower wall, beadboard, floor tile, wall tile, and large glass-block window. Leveled and re-built the floor Re-did the walls, including smoothing the old plaster, and installing new drywall and greenboard Installed new window, Installed bath tub, Moved the plumbing under the bathroom floor in order to re-position toilet from one side of the bathroom to the other Installed toilet Created custom niche/alcove next to the tub Created/installed spotlight above that niche/alcove Installed floor tile, and grouted and sealed it Installed all bathtub/wall tile Ran all new plumbing for shower and bathtub Installed new light/fan and routed to vent to exterior of house Installed new beadboard, baseboard, trim Painted walls, trim, beadboard, baseboard, ceiling Arranged for the creation of custom vanity, including granite countertop and backsplash Installed vanity Ran all plumbing for vanity Installed new cabinet doors (and trim) on two built-in cabinets, to match custom vanity Installed new light fixture above sink Hung new mirror Installed marble threshold and marble Installed all fixtures (faucets, cabinet handles/knobs, etc.) Caulked everything Installed new light switch Also fixed leak from upstairs shower, and patched up downstairs ceiling afterwards.

When I spoke with them on the telephone we set up an appointment for a quote. They did not show up nor call. I asked them to do the work in December and they said they were busy and put me off until January. I was using a oucher from Angies list and it was about to expire. He stopped by picked up some tile samples and after repeated calls to him he said he could not locate anything to match.

First of all I did not perform any work!!! He called me over four months after purchasing for 2 Hours of Remodeling Service. I went to look at the job; he needed tiles that would match tiles in other rooms. Owner supposed to provide all the materials, he ask me to go to stores and try to find tiles for his project. So I did - as a favor. I went to three different places; they do not make tiles like this. I did all the research on my own time, and I was going to extend time of the deal, but he made report - I guess some customer are never grateful.

Whoever recommended this contractor for Angie's list needs to have their head examined. I don't think my expectaions are at all unrealistic. When I hire someone to do work I expect at a minimum that they will show up when they say they will; be prepared to do the task required with the necessary tools and materials needed; replace anything damaged: will complete the job in a reasonable amount of time: respect my home and then clean up when it is completed.
Description of Work: Bathroom remodel. I responded to an Angie's deal. It was supposed to be $ 5,000 off a bath remodel of $ 10,000.00. Additional square feet were to be $ 70. each. Needless to say it went over. I told him that I had to stay within the amount quoted as that is what I had budgeted. He said he would do his best but was sure it was going to cost more. So as to save money, he reused my toilet and instead of a tile surround he put in a prefabricated shower enclosure. I had very little say as to what went into my bathroom. He bought the cabinets, lights, plumbing fixtures, mirrors etc. ( whatever he could get cheap) He kept saying " Trust me, it will look beautiful". My only input was the color of paint on the walls. I told him I wanted beige tiles on the floor so I had 3 to select from. When I told him I didn't like any of the selections and I wanted something more like the tiles in my entry way, he went out and selected and bought tiles for the floor. He did not provide any written estimate or contract before starting the work.. It was't until he was almost finished with the job and it was obvious that it was going to cost more that $ 5000.00 plus 21 additional square feet @ $ 70.00 each ($ 1,470.00) that I asked for an itemization which he provided. He did very little of the work himself; he had two apprentices that did most of the work and he would drop in for a few minutes daily to check on them. It was apparent to me that they were still learning and that they required a great deal more supervision than what was provided to them. For example, their professionalism was non-existent. If they needed an extension cord, they went out and rummaged thru my garage until they found one. Of course, without getting my consent first. There were several times I went in to check on the progress of the work and found things they had "borrowed" from my garage. I let them borrow my NEW fan as it was hot, afterall this is Florida. They somhow managed to break it and taped it together with duct tape, hoping I wouldn't notice. Since it didn't work when I went to use it, I "noticed". If I would turn on the air conditioning for them, they would go in and out and leave the doors open. If they were taking things to the truck in the evening, they would turn on the porch light then leave the door open for all the bugs to come in. I have hardwood floors and it was not until the 2nd day when Ziggy came to check on them, that he told them they should put something down to protect my floors. One night they left and left the side door to the garage wide open AN OPEN INVITATION TO BURGLARS AND RAPISTS. Another day they left the gate wide open when they left. ( I have an inground pool and a 2 year old living next door). I gave them ice water and they rewarded me by leaving it on my imported wood furniture without a coaster. I took a week of vacation in October to be home for the remodel. Although they worked 10 or 12 hour days the job was not complete until Thanksgiving. If his workman knew what they were doing and were better prepared they should have been able to finish the job in a week. Afterall the bathroom was only 61 square feet and they used a prefab insert for the shower. They were constantly leaving to go to pick up something at Home Depot. One day they left 5 times. I can understand getting the wrong size connector or something, but to come to do demolition on the first day and have to leave because they didn't bring face masks is not coming prepared for the job. They had absolutely no clue as to what they were doing. Since I had to go back to work before the job was finished we would arrange for Ziggy to come by at five and work a couple of hours until the job was completed. There were several occasions where he would call (usually around 6 p.m.) and tell me he wasn't coming afterall. He had absolutely no respect for my time. If he had call earlier I could have run errands on my way home if I knew he wasn't going to be there that night. Instead I would rush home and twiddle my thumbs until he decided to let me in on his plans for the evening. PROFESSIONAL contractors make some effort to clean up when the job is completed. In my original bath I had a mirror that was almost 8 feet long. Instead of trashing it, I suggested that it would probably bring a few dollars in a yard sale. Now I'm a 60 year old female, how did he imagine I was going to get it into the garage, wave my magic wand? From day 1 of the remodel he left it standing in front of my dresser drawers, so not only could I not use my dresser for almost 2 months, I had to come up with a way to move the mirror to the garage, along with the old light fixtures, paint cans, etc. The final straw came when I went into the bathroom some 2 weeks after the job was finished to find water pooled on my bathroom floor. I immediately called Ziggy and when he came to check it out, we discovered that the drain pipe under the sink was just hanging there and had not been tightened. He said I must have knocked against it and loosened it, even though I had not been in that cabinet since he left 2 weeks earlier. Needless to say there was standing water in the cabinet and water damage to the interior of the new cabinets.

The contractor brought out a few tiles for me to look at. I was planning on having a bathroom remodeled. He talked like it would be hard to convert my bathtub to just a shower and I just didn't have enough to go on to make a decision. I had no books or samples other than the tiles to really decide on what I wanted. Perhaps I should also consult an interior decorator. I find it difficult to come to decisions about what to do with a room just talking to a contractor. His price was very good as it was one of Angie's List Big Deals and I would have gotten it for half price but just didn't have a confident feeling in the whole process.
Description of Work: I didn't choose to have this person do the work that I needed to have done.

He was very helpful in choosing the color of paint to go with the tile and the cabinet. He was very neat with his work and is quite an artist who takes pride in the job he does and as a result I have a beautiful new bathroom that I love. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is thinking about doing remodeling in their home.
Description of Work: The shower stall (shower doors removed), walls, floor and shower pan were removed. Old fixtures, old cabinet, mirror, hardware, and wall paper were removed. The shower pan was replaced and the floor re-cemented. The floor and walls were re-tiled with travertine. He did a really nice design on the walls with a nice border around the shower. He selected a beautiful cabinet and placed a tri-fold medicine cabinet over the sink with a nice light over the cabinet. He was very helpful in choosing the color of paint to go with the tile and the cabinet. He was very neat with his work and is quite an artist who takes pride in the job he does and as a result I have a beautiful new bathroom that I love. He also installed a reverse osmosis water system under my kitchen sink.
