This was so bad that if I wrote out all the problems I probably wouldn't believe it. I called for a "tune up" and inspection but mistakenly mentioned my unit might be undersized. ... (they record the calls) so it was a heavy sales pitch boasting a great price when the not-service guy showed. "Only today" because it was cold and his team needed to stay busy. My unit was less than three years old. After he left I found out how incredible high his quote was and called to cancel. We renegotiated, only because they were"already in the neighborhood, ten minutes away", not true. He lied about many things including the permit. I had to file for an "after the fact" permit and I still don't have an inspection. I spent four hours cleaning up after these guys. They moved things, literally tossed them out of their way. They didn't even replace the old filter. The list goes on. As I said, I have a page long list of issues!! Only today I noted the other one star ratings. Not surprised. It's so bad that I have an alleged three year service contract. I won't call them! I don't want them back, ever.
Description of Work: Service, evaluate my AC unit. It was underperforming.

ON MY LAST BAD TRANE A COIL REVIEW FOR VELOCITY, SINCE THEN, I HAVE TALKED TO TRANE REPS AND THEY CLAIM THEY WILL NOT SELL VELOCITY TRANE EQUIPMENT BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO INSTALL THEIR EQUIPMENT SO THEY SAID VOLOCITY MUST HAVE BOOTLEGGED THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM FROM SOME WAREHOUSE SOMEWHERE THEY PUT IN MY HOUSE. AFTER THEY INSTALLED THE A COIL, I HAD SO MUCH CONDISATION THAT ME UNIT KEPT SHUTTING DOWN. VELOCITY AIR SENT 4 DIFFERENT TECHS OUT AND NO ONE COULD FIX IT. SO IVE BEEN DRAINING THE CATCH PAN EVERY TWO DAYS SO IT WONT SHUT DOWN. NOW A COUPLE MONTHS LATER, YESTERDAY MY MOTOR GOES BAD. 6500.00 DOWN THE DRAIN. WILL HAVE TO BUY A NEW SYSTEM BUT NOT FROM VELOSITY. BY THE WAY THEY SENT TWO YOUNG MEXICANS HERE ONCE IN A OLD JUNK TRUCK TO FIX MY AIR CONDITIONER WHICH INSISTED MY FILTERS WAS BAD. MY FILTERS WAS NEW. WHAT A MESS

BEWARE OF THIS CROOKED BUSINESS. THEY INSTALLED ALL NEW TRANE HEAT PUMP AND A COIL SPUNG A LEAK IN TWO AND A HALF YEARS. A COIL WAS SUPPOSINLY UNDER WARRANTY BUT VELOCITY CHARGED ME OVER 1,350.00 TO SWITCH IT OUT. TOOK ONE MAN LESS THAN 2 HOURS TO CHANGE IT. BUT NOW IT LEAKS CONDINSATION IN THE PAN AND SHUTS ON THE AIR EVERY THREE DAYS. THEY HAVE HAD FOUR DIFFERENT TECHS OUT BUT CANT FIX THE PROBLEM AND DONT EVEN KNOW WHATS WRONG. AND NOW THEY WONT EVEN RETURN MY CALLS. WHAT A NITEMARE. I SHOULD HAVE READ AL THEIR BAD REVIEWS FROM ANGI'S LIST.

Hello neighbors! I know this is a great website for us to watch out for one another so I thought you ladys and gentlemen would appreciate some experience I had with a company and take a warning before you get suckerd. I called velocity air to use a coupon I received in the mail. The coupon was for maintenance and included a lb of freon and a cleaning of the condenser coils. The tech Jason Hudson came just before 5 and my appointment was 1-3, s*** happens so, I understand. Jason went up in the attic and came back down and walked inside the house without a knock and he knew I was in the shower as my girlfriendwho originally aswered the door informed him afyer he asked to speak to me. So he stated we have mold and showed us pictures.he tried selling us a complete new system with uv lights. He then walked back out and I started to think the pictures he showed us were not of our own system. He said he was going to be a bit longer as he finished the maintenance. I had an uneasy feeling the next morning and checked my surveillance cameras to find Jason did NOT put any freon in nor did he clean the coils. I watched the camera as he went back and forth to his car and only taking out pressure gaueges to check the pressure and a paper. I had the pictures sent over to me as well and the pictures indeed are NOT of my system. Jason H from velocity took the money and a tip I gave him after "completing" his job. So if you don't like to be screwed over I recommend you stay away from this company. I wish i would have read the reviews because it seems they rip off women and the elderly.

Feeling extremely frustrated. The tech that came out to do our repair convinced us to sign up for a $240 maintenance package, but did not explain that that package gave us a discount. So, when I called to cancel it, they would only refund $104 dollars. We ended up spending way more money than we can afford and we're left feeling like we were tricked.

Hired them to replace all ductwork due to rodent damage. We were assured we would have no problems in future after installing "higher quality" ductwork. Exactly one year later after the $8,000 in ductwork, the rats gained access through the ductwork. We hired a different company and discovered velocity had not replaced the original ductwork under the kitchen, which is where rats had gained access. So they charged us thousands of dollars for "all new" ductwork but only replaced part of it.

Velosity is a BAIT AND SWITCH company. They own the phone numbers and names of more than just the one called Velosity. I called thinking I was calling another company and wanted the "special" that was advertised online. I was assured I would recieve that price for a tune-up of my AC unit. When they texted to tell me the technician was running late...I said okay and just wanted to confirm I would still be getting the special offer. But when they responded the "special" price was $20 more than my original quote. They refused to give me that price...at first telling me I was mistaken....then I was lying....then I was stupid. They said the company I claimed to have spoken with isn't even in business...but when you call that (out of business) company they are not only in business...but owed by Velosity...and the number is answered by Velosity. I'm assuming they do this BAIT AND SWITCH successfully...and just lie to the customers that call them out on it. If we continue to let this company misrepresent themselves by using many different names on Google...the legitimate companies will get squeezed out (assuming that's actually their business model). The other company is MISS-represented online as Savior Home Services 813-907-8877...but when you call it is (NOT OUT OF BUSINESS) it is actually Velosity....I'm sure this isn't isolated and that this is actually how they get business...they offer special deals under false company names... those numbers go to Velosity...so when you want the special deal they tell you they are not that company...BUT THEY ARE THAT COMPANY. I can not see how this can be a legal practice...because the consumer is mislead and overcharged. This is unfair practice, bait & switch, and deception.

On December 30, 2018, my AC went out. The unit was only 5 years old. We were out of town so my daughter (adult) went to let the tech in. We arrived home on the 31st. Velocity convinced us to replace a new unit that was still under warranty. They said the evaporator coil was leaking and it would be several grand to find the leak & repair it. We financed a new system & it was installed on January 2, 2019. They assured me that the new AC would never leak because it was aluminum. I believed their sham. A couple days after the install, before it was inspected, it quit working. I called the office, they sent out Jason. Jason was messing with the unit, outside when he killed the power to our whole house. I go outside to see what happens & this guy is in his van, leaving! I tried to stop him. His response was “I don’t know anything about that” I called the office again, they were shocked like I was. I called the finance company who also called the office. They had someone come out & fix it. I was without power in my home for a few hours because of that tech. Then, inspection time came, they failed! The electrical was not to code. They had to come back out & correct the electrical & the emergency switch. Once it finally passed, it ran well. At the time, they said our ductwork was great, no issues. They even said they replaced one small section where a rodent had chewed it. Fast forward 2 years later... our AC stops working. I called velocity to come out. They sent a guy out the same day. His name was Foster. Let’s talk about how incompetent this tech of theirs is! He said the evaporator coil was bad, the condenser was damaged & my unit needed 30 pounds of coolant. I was livid! How did the exact problem occur in this new, state of the art unit that they assured me would never leak!? I asked for a supervisor. Foster said he couldn’t reach a manager on Sunday. I then said I would pay the $49 charge when the supervisor called me. This ***** says “I’ll just write you’re refusing to pay” I said “no, I’m not, I just want to speak to the supervisor, first!” Amazingly, he could suddenly reach him. I then spoke to James, the project manager. Ok, talk about a pompous, rude, a**, he insisted he would have someone here, first thing in the morning for a second opinion. I paid the $50 and waited for their tech on Monday. When it got to be after 11, I called the office. No one ever showed up. I spoke to Megan. I requested to be contacted by the owner, Bill Snyder as given to me as the owner on record by the attorney general. I never did receive a call from him but, Megan said she spoke to him & he was going to discount the repairs. She also arranged for their “master tech” to come out. Craig arrived to discover not one thing was wrong that Foster claimed. I had a bent duct. The duct was all bent up where it was attached to the AC. This was obviously not installed properly. He goes outside to call James. He also said he would have someone bring out a portable AC unit. Again, none of these promises ever happened. James called and said it looks like his tech made a mistake but, he can replace my ductwork for us. He called back saying the one duct was $900 to replace! The one they improperly installed to begin with... I told him Megan said the owner was giving me a discount. (Velocity did not install all the ductwork but did have to attach that main return to the AC when they installed it) He hung up to call Bill Snyder. James then calls back & says they will be here at 11AM to replace the duct. He will do it for $600. I agreed & thought it was handled. Tuesday morning, James calls AFTER they were already late, he says he cannot honor the promised price. I told him we had a deal. He said he can’t do it! I requested the owner to call me, AGAIN! It’s now been over an hour. No call from the owner, no call from the pompous manager, no one showed up to fix anything. I’m actually quite sure they replaced my 5 year old unit unnecessarily. I will never be able to prove it but, it was having the exact same issue, 2 years ago. Had they inspected the ductwork as they claim they did, I wouldn’t of replaced the unit. They also were paid to clean & sanitize all ductwork. If they cleaned it & sanitized it, they should of noticed it was not installed properly as they’re now claiming. I’m still waiting on a response. I would never recommend this company. Imagine, if I had just believed their tech and paid the $1500 quote to fix the parts he claimed were broken. I still would be out the money and still have no AC! They already wasted 5K on a new unit when the unit they replaced was only 5 years old! I also paid $50 for the WRONG diagnosis from an incompetent tech. Of course James, the manager is making excuses for him. He says “he’s had a rough time, lately & had some health problems” ok, fine, he should NOT be working if he cannot do his job, properly! James also stated he was notifying the manufacturer that we have improper airflow so it will void our warranty! Yeah, your incompetent techs installed it! It’s only bent where it connects to the unit! James says improper airflow was what caused our previous unit to burn out, prematurely. Well, if that’s the case, why didn’t you fix it 2 years ago? You said it was all fine! I feel like Velocity must really mean incompetent. They are not qualified to repair a dog house! On day 5 of no AC in the heat of the Florida summer, they finally send 2 guys out to replace the return duct to my 2 year old AC unit that THEY installed! These 2 guys were very professional. I don’t have any issues with them. I brought them inside then out to the unit. The one guy immediately noticed the drain pipe is wrong. He pulls it off, immediately. I then showed them where the crawl space access is to go under the house. They get their tools & proceed to replace the duct. I’m inside when I suddenly smell a strong sewage odor. I go outside to see what the issue is. They were sitting on the back of their truck. When I asked what the smell was, they stated “whoever installed the drain did it wrong.” Apparently the water from my AC unit had been backing up into the main return duct which caused the duct to deteriorate & collapse. The noise I was hearing was the inside of the duct, coming unattached from the outside. This caused it to block airflow & the unit froze up. They said that smell was a lot worse, under the house. I can only imagine, stagnant water, accumulating for 2 years... NASTY! This guy did call his supervisor and let him know. Of course he didn’t come out to look at anything. I paid the bill, and called the office. I told them I did not feel this was my responsibility to fix since it was them that did not install it properly. Also, no one verified cooling temps or that the system was hooked up properly, again. The second tech, Craig that came out stated Foster did not put it back together, properly. Well, he put stuff back but not completely. This was also obvious when the unit wouldn’t turn on. They had to turn the breakers back on. This just verified that nothing was tested or filled, prior to marking the job as completed. I was told we needed coolant, that wasn’t done. I was told I needed the coils cleaned, that wasn’t done... all I know is this entire mess was created and compounded due to Velocity AC & their negligence. Had they completed the job properly, 2 years ago, we would not be here now!

A Velocity employee gave me an estimate to repair a 10yo AC unit. I was told my "starter" was broken and it would cost $1,000 to get my AC unit running BUT once he got it running he said my compressor may be dead which would cost another 1,000. He did offer me a new unit for 6K. We talked for a bit and I called another AC company for an estimate. The estimate for a new unit quickly dropped to $4,500. I thanked him and paid the service fee. Cornerstone AC came later that day. Their rep was professional, wore a mask the entire time and gave me an estimate to replace a $200 part. In an hour my ac was running perfectly fine.

Velocity responded promptly. Found that the refrigerant was completely depleted. Technician could not locate the leak, but went ahead and replaced 11 pounds of refrigerant. The charge was $980.He gave an estimate of $2236 to locate a leak in the line to the air handler. Ten days later the A/C unit failed again.I called a different company. This technician found a leak in about 30 minutes sealed the leak and replaced 10 lbs of refrigerant costing only $100. MY CONCERNS 1) TECHNICAL INCOMPETENCE-Velocity could not locate the leak which the second company found in 30 minutes 2)EXORBITANT PRICING-For a failed job, charged $980.,The second company charged only $100 for the refrigerant!!! In addition, Velocity gave an estimate of $2236 to locate the leak 3) CUSTOMER SERVICE-The Service Manager I talked to was unhelpful and dismissive and abruptly ended our conversation
