Originally I wanted to replace the 3 bottom kitchen cabinet bases, the counter-top and install an under-mount sink in my small kitchen. The project was too small for just that, so we included the top cabinets so that the upgrade was cohesive and I wouldn't have to revert to a box store install. We started planning everything with Kandi starting July 2017 and had mostly everything hashed out pretty quickly when our project was handed over (really to manage ordering, production and install dates) to a new employee. Although nice, she did not measure up to TBMW's usual standards. Due to inconsistencies between the estimates, so much so, they would not request a deposit until it was sorted. This project rolled into a later project we were doing with them so finally as 2018 was approaching, Kandi asked if I still wanted to move forward as the "new" employee hadn't managed our project properly. Kandi even apologized for not overseeing her more closely. I was so grateful to Kandi for asking, especially after all the work we and the team had put into planning, but she recognized the issues that had led to the delays. She did not complain about all the time we spent with them planning or request that we pay any type of administration fee. To me this is amazing (as I am writing this review sometime later, I have had terrible experiences with several other contractors). I ended up in August of 2018 hiring Home Depot to do just the base cabinets & counter-top to disastrous effect. So much so that HD Corporate immediately refunded 100% of my money and left me with a gutted kitchen. I found another small family owned business, K&M, that was able to knock out the job in under 2 weeks brilliantly selecting lesser quality materials and craftsmanship than that originally planned with TBMW. We then hired K&M for a 2nd job and it was a disaster. The moral of this story is that TBMW has spoiled us. Kandi & Geoff are so professional, their quoting, sketching and invoicing is so specific, updated, and finalized that there is no doubt as to the scope of work, including conditions of cancellation, permitting, subcontractor management, etc. They always seemed to care about us, managed us very well and treated us as valued customers regardless of the project budget (small or large). If I had to do it all over, I would have planned the remodel to fit into TBMW available schedule, it would have been worth it. I gave the score of C for price because it is a fair price and worth is, but because they use such high quality materials it is hard to downgrade on certain things, which again is not really a complaint :0)

I wanted to add an additional hand rail to the stairway. Since I was doing that to also switch out the 2 other handrails so that everything was a bit more cohesive. The challenge was to somehow get the stain to match as we were not replacing the built in railing that is both on the bottom of the stairs (pictured) and the entire 2nd floor loft (not pictured) . I personally would have preferred to use pine as that is what the built in railing and previous handrails are made of, but I deferred to TBMW's expertise and was told oak was the only option for stair railing. I can say that the shape was an improvement over the pine. There were a few hiccups and several delays (hurricanes, supplier issues, etc) between the ordering of the railing, the initial install and the final stain color and reinstall. However TBMW was very responsive, kept me informed of status throughout and offered to make everything right. They took the railings back, re-stained and re-finished until the color was a better match and reinstalled the railings. Throughout the color correction process, not once did Kandi or any of her team lose patience with us. There were many communication challenges as I was traveling a lot during this time and would myself get frustrated with the nuance of wood types and how a stain color looks different based on what kind of wood it goes on, etc. My lesson learnt from this was to ask to see the color stain options before the project is stained. Because I had projects from them with stain before, without having to have these conversations, slightly color blind and trying to mix-match something, I hadn't realized how much lighting would make a difference. Initially I told them just to get as close as possible to at-least "blend" without needing to see it first. So for the re-stain, Kandi had them make 3 fully finished color samples and they successfully made a match. I feel fairly confident saying that they went above and beyond without complaint. We were very pleased with the final product. They suggested the bend on the 2nd floor rail and it makes such a difference use wise. The previous rail was shorter and set lower down the stairs. Ultimately the color was spot on. I marked C on price this time as I felt that for stair railing and the install it felt more expensive than I wanted to spend, especially when compared to the other products and services I have purchased from them. However because I knew that the rails would be installed properly (and not fall out of the wall) and they do look nice, I think there was value for the money. This was our 4th project with them.

Wow! This was a dream that we had discussed for a long time, I had dozens of inspiration pictures from magazines and websites. I am amazed I did not drive them crazy with all the back and forth with the planning, but if I did they never said a negative peep, cut us short or complained. My elderly Mother enjoyed going in to look at the drafts and TBMW were very inclusive with her, even when things were busy. They would have me review new updated sketches (2 & 3 dimensional) after every meeting or update until we created exactly what I was looking for both before and after the initial estimate and deposit. They were very up front about the costs and would help me consider cost vs value add for my ideas, taking an active role in telling me what could and could not be done. If I wanted something extra, how much it would add to the final cost. What I really liked is that sometimes they would have alternative suggestions that cost less, but gave me what I wanted in function but had not considered as I did not know. I liked that I could rely on their expertise without having to ask for it. Once the scope of work was complete, they provided an install/start window that they kept to. This job required several sub contractors for the electrical, drywall and my own contributions-interference :0) as I removed the popcorn ceiling myself, and consolidated the cable/internet wiring behind the walls, painted and installed a new fan. Kandi coordinated the symphony of work so that the timing resulted in almost no delays. Their subcontractors were so good, that I called them for other small non related projects later. They all had the same level of (obsessive) detail that I have, so I was pleased that they caught things before I did. They removed the office's old door frame and extended the wall to frame out (with beautiful molding) to accommodate the built in desk. The shelving had to be very specific to accommodate my specific library of books, TV, art and function. There were so many things that would have never occurred for me to ask, that they anticipated and managed to make the space work. The quality is fantastic and they helped me pick wood (Maple) that was inline with my budget and I am so glad they encouraged me not to do laminate which was my original plan. They really are so good at wood. My desktop is a piece of art. The end product was a totally customized masterpiece in my opinion. They found a way to do everything I wanted, even if they never heard of it. This was the 2nd job I did with them. I had leftover primed and painted baseboards that I purchased from them in 2012 and had stored upright on the floor behind my couch and all these years later it was perfectly straight with no warps. They were able to use that to replace the baseboards in the entire room (small office) thereby saving me a little money. We are return customers.

We showed them a picture from a magazine that was the inspiration. This was the 1st time we worked with them. They were friendly, helpful and we really liked the whole team. They were respectful and always returned our calls and came on time. Their estimates were very clear and specific to what you are agreeing to prior to making a deposit as well as establishing an install date window. Granted this was a pretty simple project, but as we had remodeled the space and the previous contractor had brought a vanity that was just awful, didn't fit and whose counter-top had been incorrectly cut so the faucet could not be placed we were so grateful that Kandi made sure that everything was installed properly with our new sink, etc. They made exactly what we wanted and their contracted workers did good work. We are very happy and easily recommend them. The quality was amazing. They are not cheap, but compared to what you would pay from a box store for particle board or veneer...this was so totally worth it. We have not seen soft close doors and drawers work so beautifully anywhere, no slams and no sticking. (Behind 2 of the doors we have 2 drawers)

OMG..the most excellent experiment possible! A redo of my elderly Mother's closet, I wanted to do something with laminate to replace the wire shelving and rod, but sort of custom. They were testing a new technology and what I got was magic and within my budget! A 120"w x 82"H x 12 to 23" D closet that created so much space there are still empty spots because of all the storage. The quality of the laminate was superior to that found in the kits from Ikea or the other box stores. It has held up fantastically. Kandi was integral to translating my ideas to reality. It was a surprise for my Mom, so they turned this around very quickly while she was out of town, delivered everything and helped guide me through the install process which I did with the most easily readable instructions ever created. They were incredible with getting replacement pegs for the shelving rushed to me when the wrong peg parts for the adjustable shelving were received by the supplier. I also bought 16 feet of primed baseboard from them to update several rooms. They were solid wood and cut to my needed height and approximate lengths. Painting them was easy and they looked great. I had the floor installer that they recommended put them in with my store bought laminate flooring. All their sub contractors have been great and reasonably priced. This was the 3rd time I worked with them. Although they decided not to do the flat packs in the future, I will use them for my next closet update as they translated what I wanted to reality so perfectly. Again I have to note their attention to detail and the specificity of their estimates. There are no surprises, they work with you to meet your expectations. I included photos of the after and before.

We were shopping for an alternative to the pre-made cabinets our contractor was offering for our master bathroom and closet remodel. We found Tampa Bay Millworks through an online search and decided to visit their showroom. We are so glad we did! They have a fantastic selection of wood species, hardware, and design ideas. They also sell a great selection of interior doors that they can custom finish and install. Kandi was especially helpful with the initial design layouts. She came to our home to go over the details and layouts. Dan followed up with on-site measurements once the wall finishes were installed and Geoff and Joe completed the installation of the cabinets, new doors and mirrors. Everything turned out great as you can see from the photos. If you are looking for options that are above and beyond anything a pre-made cabinet system or the big box stores can offer, we highly recommenced the folks at Tampa Bay Millworks!

This company is run very poorly. They hardly ever return a phone call. From the start they weren't returning our calls and I talked my husband into staying on with them anyway. They never showed up on time and a lot of the time they didn't show up at all and wouldn't even call. One time we needed a molding they ordered from them on a day that they were too busy to run the molding over so I drove 25 minutes to their business to pick the molding up. On my way there I called to let them know I was on my way, the girl that answered the phone said that my part was not "in" yet, so I starting driving back home, then she called back again and said she was wrong that the molding was there. So I turned around again and after 20 minutes when I was a mile from their business she called again to say that they actually just left and were bringing the part to my house. Our staircase that we went in and picked out everything for was never ordered. A month later when the installer arrived to install floors and staircase the stair parts still weren't ordered. The cabinets were not made to the right height of our stove. The cabinets in our master bath were also not made to the right height. They did come back and fix those. They have never come back to adjust all the cabinets throughout the house. A lot of the cabinets have a gap in the middle because they need to be adjusted. While their quality was fantastic, the lack of communication was far to frustrating to recommend them to anyone. :( Customer service is NOT their top priority no matter how much they say it is. Darn!! I really like them as people and hope that they can get it together!
Description of Work: New Construction: They crafted and installed all of our cabinets in our kitchen, office, laundry, bathrooms and children's desk area. They made the cabinets exceptionally well! The cabinets are beautiful and the color is exactly what we wanted.

They are very good. They were responsive. The front door was very intricate and complex and most people did not want to touch it or to charge me an unbelievable amount to do it. Tampa Bay Millworks charged me a reasonable price. I was actually shocked at the price as it was so much less than what others were going to charge. They were very professional and did what they said they were going to do. They did a superb job.
Description of Work: I used Tampa Bay Millworks for doors. They were referred to me by the contractor who renovated my home. They replaced the front door and the garage door.

I thought I could work with them and their proximity to the Palm Harbor Home depot made it convenient. Probably OK for most jobs, but must work on a tight margin and will give up customer service for $35.00 savings on a $400 order. They do have some nice wood working machinery though.
Description of Work: I bought discontinued floor from them - two boxes. Didn't think to check the color assumed would be same. Went back and got molding. Finally lay the floor, one box is as thought ,other is totally different. They want to charge me full price for $400.00 of additional. Same flooring I can buy from Orlando and drop ship to my house for same price. Would not even consider negotiating. It will be a cold day in..... Not customer service oriented for walk-ins.
