 + -1 moreI arrived for my appointment on time....and was seen right away. Each item to be appraised is carefully examined in your presence, notes are taken....and a picture too. The item/s are returned to you.....and within a week, you receive in the mail a detalied appraisal which is quite a piece of work itself !!
Description of Work: I have used SGS many times, and I am always extremely satisfied with the appraisals. They are so very professional and knowledgeable........honest and fair......and more than willing to help in any way possible.

 + -1 moreSchuler Gemological Services is a family-operated business, and has a gemological laboratory on site. They offer full service jewelry appraisals, and gave this client sufficient time to perform a thorough evalution of each piece of jewelry. The office provides a quiet, private, and professional environment. Tim Schuler, is a licensed Gemologist, and a member of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). He spent plenty of time answering my questions about the total appraisal process. His wife, Amy, is the office manager, and both were extremely friendly and professional. I will definitely recommend, and most likely use, their services again in the future.
Description of Work: Review of over 25 pieces of gold, diamond, and precious gems (watches, rings, earrings, bracelets, pendants, chains, and necklaces) was accomplished over a 2-hour period. 14 pieces of jewelry (14/18K gold, diamond, precious gemstones, and pearls) were appraised, and recommended for insurance coverage. The Gemologist recommended, if I desired, the 11 less valuable items, could be sold through an Estate Sale, or privately by me. Once all 14 valuable pieces were identified using a Microscope, the Gemologist graded each diamond, gold, and gemstone jewelry for a detailed analysis for me and my insurance carrier. Some of the older pieces of jewelry required cleaning which was performed using Ultrasound waves to remove the grime and prevent damage to the jewelry. Then each piece was photographed for personal and insurance purposes. Within two weeks, I received via mail, a professionally-produced binder with each individual piece of jewelry described in detail with appraisal values, colored photos, and placed in individual protective sleeves.

 + -1 moreWonderful experience! You make and appointment and bring the items to be appraised with you. He examines, measures, assesses, and analyzes the jewelry in front of you so your items are never out of your possession. He took approximately. 45 minutes for two rings with 6 stones. Then you are free to leave. He then does some additional research after you are gone based on the data he collected and writes up the formal appraisal. This is mailed to you in 1-2 days. Great experience!!
