Overall, very satisfied with work and service. Ron was very accomodating. Made sure little things that were missed, were corrected to satisfaction. Conscientious crew were careful around plants and cleaned up after each visit. We had compliments asking about the paint job the same day it was completed asking us for the contractors name.

They advertise “larger crews to get the job done fast.” We hired them and two showed up. It took them over 2 months to finish painting the outside of our home. They left trash all over our yard, damaged property (stood on new pool heater), and had to come out four separate times to finish. The management is insulting all the way to the owner making you feel as if they’re doing you a favor when they owe you an apology at minimum. It was obvious they never did a walk around the first or second time they showed up. Paint chipping on front door jam, missing paint spots on front door (nobody asked my wife to open the door even though she stayed home for two days to make sure this wasn’t needed), over paint on window frames (multiple locations), missed spot on garage door, missed many spots on side of home, clogged eves from excessive spray, multiple holes in wall not filled, over spray on month old pool heater, cracked new pool heater from standing on it, left trash all over yard including full trash bag for us to pick up, and broken hose sprayer. Everyone from the site supervisor who argued with me about fixing some of the items, the salesman (who called my wife a liar and tried to play off that they didn’t damage the heater), and up to the owner (who never fully apologized and told us that any further compensation would degrade our warranty) made them unprofessional to work with. I’m questioning whether or not they even have insurance given the owners claim. Not a way to run a company. They need to take responsibility up front. Unprofessional!

Response from Premium Painters
We started the job on December 11th and finished the project on December 13th. The project was sufficiently staffed for a small residential home. It did not take 2 months to paint the home. We just recently were paid the final amount owed, 2 months after commencement. Any touch-ups, cleaning remaining, we have offered to fix, however we have received no customer response, allowing us to do so. In regards to damages, there was no definitive proof that we damaged their pool equipment, other than speculation, however we still reimbursed them. We damage things periodically, it happens. Our painters are very open about their mistakes. No employee's jobs are threatened by accidental damage, so we encourage them to notify supervisors when they happen. In addition, we are heavily insured and licensed throughout the State of Florida, and we encourage any homeowner to make sure contractors are licensed and insured. Our documents are available online, or by request. No employee called the homeowner a liar, it was simply a difference in opinion. Homeowner contacted corporate (not local Tampa location) in Hobe Sound, FL to dispute the damage and repair costs, plus additional monies off the final bill. They made the determination to reimburse for the damage, however there was no reason to give additional reimbursement off the paint work performed. It says on our contract for the warranty to be valid, customer must pay the full contract price. This is standard practice and is among the terms and conditions of the largest painting company in the nation. We fixed the damaged heater, and warranty our work. The ball is in their court to let us address the small touch-ups that remain.

They painted the house that I was selling in June. They did a good job. I use to be in the business, so I know what to look for. The price was fair. You get what you pay for. I didn't really talk to the painters they didn't speak English. They did what they said they would do, and they did it well. We had a lot of rain during that period of time, but whenever they could get there they were there. I saw two workers, and that was fine it was a small house. They were available, and I needed the house painted quickly, so that was important to me.

Premium is very good, they did my other home for me, as far as interior painting. But when I got a price on this home after I bought it, I decided to go with someone else. They are awesome. I called them first to get a quote, unfortunately they were really really high for what I needed done on this home. So, I went with someone else. 3 years ago, they painted the inside of my town home. They were an “A” overall. At that time, I definitely considered the price a “B”. They did an excellent job. There were 2 crew members that came out to do the job. I made them do a punch list before they left my premise. One of them kind of didn’t want to but I told them no you are going to. I told them don’t pack up your stuff till I do the punch list. I mean they had done double high ceilings and a staircase.

I was very pleased from the first contact by Kevin who priced the job. He was quick to respond and schedule around my time frame for a party. The foreman, John, did a great job pressure cleaning and spray painting the house. He also did the carpentry on the deck and added a final coat of stain to make it perfect. The crew was very courteous and helpful. Arney painted the interior. I was impressed with all the preparation he did caulking baseboards and covering furniture while painting the ceilings. He painted two coats of paint to cover the patches on the walls. The rooms look great. A quality job was done in a timely manner around my schedule. Thanks to everyone who worked on the job.
Description of Work: Exterior of home was painted. Large patio deck was stained. Four boards had to be replaced and Premium Painters did the carpentry before staining. Exterior and deck was pressure cleaned. All Hurricane panel screws around doors and windows had to be covered by foil prior to exterior painting. Three rooms of interior were painted in addition to the ceilings. Interior painting was covering areas of patched plaster where there were cracks from an addition settling.

Response from Premium Painters
We go above and beyond to make our customers happy. Some customers are never satisfied. Workers felt uneasy and demoralized working in an environment with an overbearing customer. Home was located on the water and had pre-existing moisture and paint bonding issues. A coat of paint is only as good as the substrate in which it bonds to. In this instance the peeling occurred in an area where years of peeling and moisture was present. In many cases, Premium Painters, as a contractor, is inheriting a pre-existing bonding issue from years of previous poor quality paint work. We offered, and still offer, to re-prime and paint the small affected area according to manufacturers specs, but if it still peels, is it truly the Painters fault? We take our service very seriously, and our reputation statewide painting thousands of homes and hundreds of positive reviews online speaks volumes.

Prior to the work commencing, but after I paid a $250 deposit and received my contract back signed by the company the owner Mark Cudia, painted rectangular squares of a variety of paint color choices on the surface of the front of my house, using tape to form separate squares of color choices then removing the tape afterwards. A crew began working on Tuesday August 18th and I was told they expected to be complete by Thursday or no later than Friday of the same week. After they started priming the house, I noticed it was patchy, with many parts of the new stucco where I could see the grey concrete showing through. Also, the rest of the house was primed in white wash, transparent even though Premium Painters stated in their proposal to me they intended to use a tinted primer. This fact alone, made me question the discrepancy from what I was seeing applied, to the written proposal. There was no tinted primer applied to any surface of the house. I could still see the gray underneath the primer once they said they had finished priming. I contacted the owner by text messaging my concerns, because he notified me earlier in the week he was taking a spontaneous vacation and to reach him this way. I told him the primer was going on thin and also the paint, and was not getting good coverage. He replied that his foreman, Louis was in charge. He answered my questions concerning how may square ft. he had figured for my job, and the amount of paint he ordered by writing back that I had 4200 sq. ft of paintable surface and he ordered 32-33 gallons of paint. He did not identify of the total, how much was primer and how much was surface color, or trim or staircase paint. His painters also never left the pails of paint, and took all of it with them each day without leaving it on my property. I was however, able to observe the amount of paint as it was applied. I spoke to Louis about my concerns and he said that he had painted everything with two coats of primer and two coats of paint. He also told my mason that he had painted two coats of paint, after my mason had stopped by and was concerned that he saw grey stucco through the areas Louis said he had primed. What became the major concern, was after Louis said he was finished painting the front of the house, you could still see a demarcation of the square boxes outlined from the tape where Mark had painted the sample colors and also one other area of the front where you could see the outline of where the mason applied a product called elasta merrik over the new masonry work. Actually, there were other elasta merrik areas, but after I insisted Louis reapply paint, those no longer showed. I told Louis that both areas could not have been primed with the same thickness as the others, and they needed to be fixed but he kept telling me no matter what he would do, they would still show through. I did not accept his answer and because of this, I went to Sherwin Williams, where Premium Painters purchased my paint. Sherwin Williams gave me a printout of what Premium Painters purchased in my name: 10 gallons of white primer for the total job and 15 gallons of paint for the surface paint color. I researched the coverage for both products on Sherwin Williams specifications and learned that this particular primer would only cover 200-300 sq ft on normal surfaces and approx. 80 sq. ft. on new porous concrete surfaces. I notified Mark of the discrepancy in his proposal to what he actually provided in supplies for my job, and said that based upon the manufacturer specifications, the primer they used should only have covered 700 - 1000 sq. ft of my house, and they used it to cover all 4200 sq.ft. This appears to be the reason you could see through the primer, it didn?t coat the house with a solid even base, and it had poor coverage. He was extremely upset with me that I had contacted Sherwin Williams and obtained the invoice for the paint ordered for my job. After I told him I had the invoice, he then implied that his crew had only used the primer he purchased for my house on the new stucco, but that they had brought other left over primer from someone other job and used it on the rest of my house, ( I reminded him that ALL the primer used on my house was white, mostly opaque and that I had previously told him how thin it was...because my proposal had called for primer that was "tinted to the body color of the house" and there was never tinted primer applied whatsoever. We exchanged emails and Mark insisted all the problems were from my mason and according to his foreman, Louis, I should have my mason come back and redo my masonry. He did not accept responsibility for the large squares that left the demarcations from the paint that HE had applied with tape. Rick Crawford, Mark's Sherwin Williams Rep, came out to my home on Monday to ?observe? the problem, Mark did not, though he had told me he would be present. Upon arrival, Rick stated that he had talked to Mark and that Mark told him he had used additional primer on my house from his warehouse, but I have disputed this because I never observed any "extra" primer used. Furthermore, Mark never mentioned any extra primer used for my job and the only time he claimed to have done so, was after I complained. The rep immediately based his opinion on the information given to him from Mark told me the demarcations where Mark painted squares were the result of the masonry. I clearly was upset with his predetermined opinion, and told him he was wrong, and began to walk away in complete frustration. One of the painters from Premium Painters spoke up and explained the lines on my wall showing through was from the tape Mark had used when he painted sample colors. After than, the rep said that he had a primer he would give me, to have the painters apply that he felt would cover up the problem areas. This was complete confirmation that what I had told Mark all along, that he needed to get a better primer, was accurate. My insisting to the rep that this job was not acceptable, he offered another "primer" to be applied to cover it. Sherwin Williams donated to me a product to help Premium Painters fix these areas, including the area of masonry they damaged. Mark was not present for this meeting, but I heard from him afterwards that he would only agree to fix the area he damaged and would nothing else. I asked him several times to complete the job, which I have documented in emails, with him refusing. He informed me he would not fulfill the rest of his contract, to paint my staircase, or clean and seal coat my driveway and pool deck. Premium Painter's foreman, Louis, returned on Tuesday morning alone, without his crew, and brought the 5 gallon pail of donated Sherwin Williams product called Lexon XP that had been tinted to match the new paint on my house. Louis primed just the one area where the squares are and waited for it to dry. I phoned Rick, Sherwin Williams rep, and told him that his product appeared to be working to cover the boxes, but they refused to use it anywhere else. He said he would contact Mark and call me back, which he did to tell me they would re prime and paint the other wall, but they did not. I watched Louis apply only a minimal amount of this primer, paint over it, and then he left with the nearly full 5 gal Lexon XP. He never did a final cleanup and left a lot of debris and drips of paint on my driveway, pool deck, outdoor furniture, window screens, my hoses are damaged and covered with paint, which they used without my permission, and more that I documented in photographs. It took me a day and a half of cleaning my property to get it looking decent from the mess they left. There is a 7 year warranty in their contract. However, Mark is now claiming that his warranty only applies to the paint, not labor. I have requested a dry millage gauge test performed on all the areas of my house they painted, to determine whether the paint is even in the thickness of the millage applied since they did not prime the entire job with the same consistency. Premium Painters took their supplies home daily, hiding the pails of paint used on my job. There are blemishes and streaks in the walls of my house. I had called and e-mailed many times to get the primer / paint work resolved, along with trying to have them finish the contract. Mark, stated I was hard to work with and refused to return to my property or complete the job . I have e-mail threads regarding the faulty work and trying to get it resolved. I need assurance that the primer was applied according to Sherwin Williams specifications on every surface of the exterior of my house. I should receive a deduction for doing their clean up. I am requesting a dry millage gauge test from them proving the primer and paint are even, which does not appear to be the case. The contract has a 7 year warranty they will not honor, and Mark Cuida refuses to return to the property. The original work was quoted at $6,170. With a $500 discount from citing the coupon advertisement in a circular for the total contract which was bilaterally signed by Mark Cudia and I. I have just received a new invoice by email, which they have removed the charge for Exterior Brick Sealing Pool Area - $ 290.00, Driveway Sealing - $960.00, Exterior Staircase Painting and Priming - $ 450.00 of Now that the company is refusing to do anymore work, they are requesting payment for $4,310.00 + $160.00 for painting shutters minus the $500.00 discount for the coupon, and minus $250.00 deposit paid, for a balance of $3,720.00. I have contacted another contractor to fulfill the remaining terms of their contract, for pressure washing and sealing both the driveway and pool deck. The price quoted is higher than Premium Painters contract with me. I believe Premium Painters is entitled to some payment, however, I do not believe it is for the amount they are seeking based on all that I have stated herein.
Description of Work: Premium Painters were hired to Paint the Exterior of my house, the metal storm shutters, sealing my driveway, sealing the pool deck and painting an exterior metal spiral staircase, which included pressure washing and priming.. They only painted the house and storm shutters, with the quality of the work is what is being disputed.
