PODS Moving & Storage

It was expensive but they kept my pod for 2 months. They will deliver the pod to where you are packing up at. So whatever house you are moving from they pick up all my stuff. They dropped off the pod and let me fill it up. Two or 3 days later they picked it back up. So they let me work by my dates. And then they dropped it off again on my dates at the new house. So they kept it during that time and I didn't have to worry about my stuff or trying to find a moving truck or somewhere to put it. It was really cool considering I had nowhere to put my stuff for 2 months. The worst part was they said it was climate controlled. I put 2 of the bags that absorb moisture in the pod. I still had moisture in my pod when I got my stuff. So some of my furniture was wet. So where ever they put it, either there was a leak in the pod or or it wasn't climate controlled. I'm not quite sure what happened but we think there was a leak in the pod. They asked if there was any damage. I said no it was just wet. They were pretty good about coming and getting it and dropping it off. They were there right when they said they would be, probably within 5 minutes. I would use them again but I would make sure I check out the pod more carefully.

They were pretty good. I took pictures of the truck in case anything went wrong. It was a tight squeeze. It was a possible concern in case something went wrong and got damaged, that at least I had evidence. They ended up not damaging anything. They were able to put it down gentle so that there were no depressions in the driveway. It was an asphalt driveway, and it could damage if it came down crooked. They brought the storage unit and it was there a few days to get loaded. They came and picked it up, and it took a few days to get to Denver. Once it got to Denver, she was delayed a couple of days for her to get people to empty the pod so that the pod could get taken away. We were satisfied with their service. The only trouble was that a new driver came and he didn't know how to pick up the pod that we had filled. A veteran came back with him and was able to explain things and took care of it without any problems. They gave us warning when they were coming. They brought locks with it along with instructions on how to lock it up. They gave us tips on how to pack things. There was a guide sheet on making sure we packed heavy stuff in the front and they advised us on how to tie up the furniture. We tied everything in so it wouldn't shift around when the pod was being moved. The pod was kept horizontal and was moved very delicately. They had some kind of a frame that could slide over the pod, then they have chains that could hook onto bars on the side of the pod. The frame had a motor on it that allows them to move the pod back and forth to get wider and narrower. It gets around the pod, and then they can raise it up to goes onto the back of the truck. Then they can pull up the wheels that are on poles so it sits on the back of the truck and they can anchor the pod to the truck. It seems to be a safe, careful way of doing it. They had all kinds of controls on this movable unit that sits on the back of the truck. That's how they were able to handle it, and the wheels come down and they can actually raise up the unit to get the original pod off the back of the truck. They just reversed the procedure when they picked up the pod and took it away even though it was loaded with furniture. They were prompt. They did what they said they were going to do. They were careful managing the pod down a narrow driveway. They were competent and they are widespread. If you are doing a far moving type thing, you wouldn't have to have the pod move past a bunch of third parties. If anything goes wrong, you will have one point of reference, both on the sending side and receiving side. They have been in business for 30-40 years so they seem to know what they are doing. The price was not outlandish. The pod was clean and not damaged. The pod looked relatively new. It was delivered clean on the inside. They came and delivered it within an hour of what they said, even though there was snow all around. She was able to call them on the other side and they were able to hold off for a couple of days on the delivery of the pod and drop it off on the newly agreed date. They did bring somebody at first that didn't know how to use the apparatus. He had to put a call into the office. There was a delay for the other fellow to get there, but they didn't charge anything extra and they were incredibly apologetic.
