Description of Work: I contracted with Perkins to place curbs on my front yard. Their price was reasonable. The office staff was friendly. I can not comment on quality of work because after one month, I was informed by Perkins that the city would not issue me a permit to put in a curb?? Not sure why, 3 of my neighbors all have recently put curbs in. Anyways , if I could "grade" the city of Tampa, they would get an F. Perkins was fine to work with. My frustrations have noting to do with them. If I have another job, I would def give him a call

Not hiring this company!
Description of Work: We called 4 different companies recommended from Angie's List. The first 3 companies showed up at our property, per our request, to look at the job we wanted performed. They all gave the same contract quote of $2400. Then Mr. Perkins, the 4th company, showed up at our request and quoted $100 more than the other companies but we liked that Mr. Perkins offered to secure the permit to proceed, whereas the first 3 companies wanted us to secure the permit ourselves.We received the proposal/contract on 2/15/16 and asked that a few more particular details be clarified as part of the terms of the contract. Perkins agreed and re-issued the proposal/contract on 2/19/16 for the same price of $2500. We then passed some paperwork back and forth for a few days in an attempt to lock down the deal when Mr. Perkins suddenly called us on 2/25/16 and said the proposed price of $2500 was wrong because it didn't include the cost of the concrete. He was going to send a revised contract proposal to us that morning and when he did we were shocked! The original proposal included furnishment of all equipment, materials, labor and supervision to complete a concrete driveway pad and sidewalk. The newly revised proposal stated the exact same language but now he wanted $3250, a 30% increasefor the exact same job he originally proposed doing!We feel as if we were either tricked or scammed and treated in a most unprofessional manner by this company. Once they saw we were proceeding with the job and finishing the paperwork, the price shot up 30%! Wow!

I had approximately 550 Sq Ft of drive way that had buckled due to erosion as well as four other smaller sections that needed repair. I had four estimates with all being pretty close in price. I narrowed it to two, but decided to go with Perkins - a wise choice. All work was done exactly as described within the time promised. Warren stayed in touch throughout to ensure all was going as planned.
Description of Work: .Damaged sections of my drive way were broken up and removed. Fill dirt was added, packed, and forms laid. Concrete was poured and finished in two days.

The contractor was punctual, his workers were hard working, courteous, and cleaned up the site as they worked. They were mindful of the remaining existing property (we were living there during construction). We were very well pleased with their price, their quality of work, and the overall experience and would recommend them to anyone at all without reservation.
Description of Work: Pour foundation, slab, and do masonry walls on an addition to an existing single story single family home. The addition is approximately 2200 sq ft.

My experience with them was limited as I didn't use them at all. However, it seemed like they were fine. They gave me a reasonable quote. They gave me all the details and explained what they would have done. I used someone else whose work I liked and also probably because he was a little bit cheaper.
Description of Work: I got an estimate over the phone from Perkins Concrete sometime in August as I needed new concrete front steps poured.

I think the quote was around $13000. They responded very well. I will use them again in the future.

They were quick to call me back and say they'd be out and get me an estimate. I haven't heard anything from them. It's been at least a week and I have heard nothing. He even said he lives in the area and said he could drive by over the weekend and get me an estimate.

THEY SENT OUT TWO PEOPLE WHO DIDN'T WORK VERY WELL TOGETHER. THERE WAS AN OLDER MAN WHO KEPT HARPING AT A YOUNGER GUY WHILE THEY WERE WORKING. THEY UNDER CALCULATED THE AMOUNT OF CONCRETE THAT WAS GOING TO BE REQUIRED, SO THEY HAD TO HAVE ANOTHER TRUCK COME OUT AND THAT TRUCK DUMPED EXTRA CONCRETE OUT BY THE ROAD AT THE END OF MY DRIVEWAY. THEY TRIED TO CLEAN UP THE MESS, BUT IT STILL LOOKED BAD. THE BOSS SEEMED TO BE A PERFECTLY REASONABLE GUY WHEN I SPOKE WITH HIM, BUT THE OLDER GUY WHO DID THE WORK WAS DIFFICULT TO DEAL WITH IN A WORK SITUATION. IT WAS LIKE HAVING THE THREE STOOGES OUT HERE EXCEPT THERE WERE TWO OF THEM AND IT WASN'T FUNNY. THE FINISHED RESULT IS NOT PERFECT, BUT SATISFACTORY.

WE RECEIVED AN ESTIMATE FORM DOUG THE SALESMAN AND HE WAS PROMPT AND COURTEOUS. WE WERE TOLD TO STAY HOME FROM WORK FOR THE WORKERS AND AN HOUR LATER THEY LEFT TO PICK UP SUPPLIES MAKING US FEEL LIKE OUR TIME WAS WASTED. THE FORM WAS LAYED OUT AND WAS INCORRECT BY 2 FEET ON THE WIDE END OF THE PATIO AND WAS OFF BY 8" ON THE OTHER END . THE WORK TEAM GAVE US A HARD TIME ABOUT MOVING THE BOUNDARIES, BUT THE BOUNDARIES WERE MOVED TO OUR SATISFACTION. THEY ALSO WERE SUPPOSED TO LAY DOWN THE METAL REBAR AND IT DID NOT GET DONE. THE END PRODUCT WAS COMPLETED VERY NICELY AND WE ARE HAPPY WITH THE FINAL PRODUCT. WE DID NOT APPRECIATE THE LOST WORK TIME AND THE NEGATIVE DISCUSSIONS WITH WORK SUPERVISOR REGARDING BOUNDARIES. I FEEL MAKE SURE WORK TEAM COMES PREPARED TO WORK NOT SHOP. ALSO IF YOU CANT TAKE OFF WORK ON THE DAY OF THE SITE PREPARATION FIND ANOTHER COMPANY.

I REQUESTED THE MEMBER TO BE AT HOME WHEN WE DID THE LAY-OUT BECAUSE THE JOB CALLED FOR RADIUS EDGES AND WANT TO PUT FORMS WHERE THEY WANTED THEM. SHE AGREED. WE DID THE LAY-OUT WITH THE MEMBER. WE LEFT THE JOB AFTER THE LAY-OUT TO PURCHASE PROPER FORMS TO COMPLETE THE FORMING. WE RETURNED AND STARTED FORMING THE DECK AREA. SOME TIME LATER THE MEMBER CAME OUTSIDE AND ASKED US TO MOVE THE FORMS SAYING THEY WERE IN THE WRONG PLACE. WE MOVED THE FORMS AND REDUG THE FOOTERS. AT THE END OF THE DAY THE MEMBER CHECKED THE JOB WITH MY FOREMAN SAYING EVERYTHING LOOKED OK. THE NEXT DAY WE RECIEVED A PHONE CALL FROM THE MEMBER STATING THE FORMS ON THE SOUTH END OF THE POOL WERE DONE INCORRECTLY. I CALLED THE MEMBER AND QUESTIONED HER ON WHY WE HAD SO MISHAPS ON THE LAY-OUT AND IT COSTS MONEY TO REFORM JOBS 3 TIMES. I WASN'T AWARE HOW MUCH THE COST OF THE PERMIT WOULD BE AND HOW MUCH THE DRAWINGS COST. IT WAS TOLD TO ME WHEN THE BALANCE WAS DUE. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD WHEN THE WORKERS WERE COMING BECAUSE THEY NEEDED POWER AND I HAVE NO OUTSIDE POWER SOURCE. THE WORKERS DID A GOOD JOB.
Description of Work: CINDERBLOCK WALL WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED, 3 FT X 25 FT, TREE ROOTS REMOVED, FOOTING POURED, REBAR USED TO REINFORCE. ALL TRASH REMOVED. OWNER WAS TO PAY FOR PERMITS AND DRAWINGS PER OUR CONTRACT. THE PERMIT TOOK 2 WEEKS FOR THE CITY TO PROCESS. PERKINS CONCRETE CHARGED FOR THE COST OF THE PERMITS AND DRAWINGS BACK TO THE CUSTEMER PER OUR CONTRACT. IF WE DID NOT CALL BEFORE WE ARRIVED THAT WAS OUR MISTAKE.

I RECEIVED A PROMPT AND COURTEOUS RESPONSE WHEN I ORIGINALLY CONTACTED THE COMPANY, AND THE WORKMEN WERE VERY NICE. PLUS, THEY CLEANED UP THE YARD BEFORE THEY LEFT.
