Description of Work: Man came at appointed time on 12/1/14 for service plan checkup. He fumbled |with Freon gauge and Freon hissed out of it, leaving oil stain on unit. |He wrote a 3 part proposal with highly inflated prices ranging from Freon |fill up to a new unit. I checked with another company and Freon was fine. |So was the unit. A day and a half later the heat went. This 5 year old unit was never touched til now by these people and when it is, the heat goes? My mother bought this unit from them and died 4 months later. I learned that the heat strip itself can be bought online for less than $100. Their charge to install $575. My sense tells me that these techs are on commission-a disaster for the consumer. The tech asked me to fill out a Angies List review after his visit, and before things went bad. I have severed my relationship with these people and am awaiting a service plan rebate?

We called approximately 10:30 a.m. to be told that the "place" in Sarasota had to wait until they filled up their truck before bringing up the part to Clearwater. Will all the conflicting stories, untruths, and lack of response or concern, we told them to camel. We called another company who picked up the part locally, where numerous such parts were available, and installed the motor in a very short time. So much for the Sarassota story. The parts are right here in Clearwater. Never, never use this company. We got NOTHING FOR OUR $69.
Description of Work: Our a/c stopped working and we called National A/C who had installed this machine. A serviceman came out on an emergency call on Sunday and said we would need a new blower motor. He said that they would order it Monday morning and come out late that day to replace the motor. We waited all day but no call, no serviceman. We called the office and were told that we were to hang in there, that they would be out before the end of the day. We called after five and were told that they had to get the part and they would be out first thing Tuesday. Tuesday came, but still no servicemen. We were told that they had replaced the motor and left a note on the door. Funny, we were home all day waiting for them and no one showed up. No motor was installed. Don't know where they installed one but not at our location. We called again, and were told that they had to get the part from Sarasota.

+ -1 moreOverall, the experience was negative. They installed the unit incorrectly, and they had to repeat appointments that weren’t effective. They did not back up what they sold, either. I had to call in another company to get everything resolved.

+ -1 moreGave me a 2 hour window. Did not show up until 2 hours after that window closed. I wasted a whole day waiting on them. They said the appointments the office sets up never matches when they actually show up. It took them an hour to check my A/C then said I need a whole new unit (frozen compressor). I had another company come out and it turns out all I needed was a $12 wire. Fixed on the spot in 20 minutes. STAY AWAY FROM NATIONAL HEATING!

+ -1 moreThey were just horrible. Every time they came to service my home something else would break on my A/C unit. They were replacing air ducts, parts on my a/c unit, etc... The service team that would come to my home was not knowledgeable and not honest. I felt ripped off. I left them and now have a fabulous, trustworthy company who services my A/C unit.

Description of Work: National Heating and Air lied to me about needing a new air conditioning unit, the installed the wrong size for my size house and existing heat pump. this caused the heat pump to burn out and the entire heating and air conditioning system had to be replaced. also, the mega filter they installed was also the wrong size. this whole fiasco cost me $11,240.00 to fix, in addition to the $3,760.00 that National charged me for all their bogus work. I highly recommend that you do not use National Heating and Air. They not only do poor work, they are rude and will continually call you and try to sell you more unnecessary work. National is located at 2650 Enterprise Rd Clearwater. Fl. Their phone # is 727-784-9399. If you value your money, Do not do business with these dishonest people.

+ -1 moreIt went terribly. They had to come back multiple times to fix parts that broke, fell off. They lied and tried to sell me more things than I really needed but then someone else came to check it out and said I didn't need it. He didn't hook up the heating right, he didn't pull any permits so then when we had an inspection it failed so he had to keep coming back.
Description of Work: They installed an air conditioning unit and all the vents for it.

+ -1 moreI AGREED TO THE TUNE UP ON THE CONDITION THAT THEY WOULD NOT SEND OUT THE SAME GUY WHO ALWAYS TRIES TO SELL ME A NEW AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM, HIS NAME IS KEITH. THEY DID SEND THE SAME PERSON AND HE WOULDN'T EVEN REFILL THE FREON OR TRY TO FIX THE UNIT, HE CLAIMED IT WAS BROKEN AND THAT I NEEDED A NEW ONE. HE USED VERY HIGH PRESSURE SALES TACTICS AND WOULD NOT DO WHAT I ASKED. THEY TOLD ME OVER THE PHONE THAT THEY WOULD ADD 2 POUNDS OF FREON AT NO EXTRA CHARGE, BUT HE REFUSED. THEY DIDN'T DO WHAT THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO DO SO I TOLD THE MAN TO LEAVE.
