This is our 3rd time using Midway Services and we'll keep on using them in the future should the need arise. Way better than Geek Squad!! ----------------------------- HERE'S THE SHORT STORY: Today we were blessed by Geri for our plumbing needs.šŸ™‚ Geri pulled everything together for a quote for the REMOVAL, the PICK-UP, the DELIVERY, and the INSTALLATION of a toliet and 2 bathroom faucets, and did ALL OF IT ON THE SAME DAY!! All of that was done in LESS THAN 6 hours!! That INCLUDED Geri doing the removal, and then the pick-up and delivery of our products from the company warehouse!! Oh, I forgot to mention we live in a condo on the 2nd floor and have NO elevator! šŸ˜¬šŸ˜®šŸ’ØšŸ˜µšŸ’« ------------------------- HERE's SOME DETAILS: Geri was not only on-time and professional, but he gave detailed insight and direction to every question we had, and explained the answers in laymans's terms that we could understand. All while explaining the warranty details by Midway Services as well as the product warranty. The quote was done expeditiously and was a fare pair price. Especially with rising costs now days. Geri was proficient at organizing each step of the process from ordering, to arranging pick-up time for products, completing the installation for our plumbing needs, and was clean frommstart to finsh. We called for a quote on toliet removal & installation. HOWEVER, at last minute we had leaks in our bathroom faucets!! Geri is the 3rd of 3 Midway Service workers that have been to our home. The 1st was our water heater and the 2nd was our garbage disposal. Midway Services has treated our home as if it their own. We'll come back again should the need arise because they're the best in our book!!

DISASTER. Spent 30k and they set the whirlpool tub on its drain hose causing it to crack. Flooded my new dining room ceiling. Broke a handmade sink and installed a heavy glass shower door on the wall that had a pocket door-shower door never shut correctly. NOW I have a leak in one of the shower pans. This will require a complete demolish of the WHOLE shower! 12k down the drain and that doesn't include tile because I provided it all to Midway when they did the job. I can't afford that tile, again. Just another expensive OOPS by Midway and of course they can't help. Thankful I caught every other OOPS before I paid them. Midway is expensive but that doesn't make them capable.

It went wonderfully. The plumber they sent was professional, on-time, explained everything and alerted me when water had to be shut off as well as the amount of time. I highly recommend Midway Services for any job you may need done. This is the third time I have used their services. Previously, it was full remodel of kitchen and bathrooms including having to change plumbing lines, electrical (to bring to code). Clearly, in my opinion the hire the best and send their customers the best.

Came out the day after I called and reviewed repairs. Gave a quote which I accepted and they did the work the same day. Very efficient, excellent communication and great work.

Midway replumbed the whole house in Roser Park which had archaic plumbing and years of build up. Additionally, they had cleared the main drain which was also a culprit to slow draining. Since I did not know any better, I wonder why I wasn't recommended to replace the main drain as well. Now, short of two years since service and additional $350 for a plumber visit to clear main drain again. And he said I may continue to have problems with the main drain if I didn't replace it. Additionally I asked for a a/c duct replacement quote which was double other providers and the technician was rather rude with his quote as though take it or leave it, so I left it. Supposedly, they serviced the A/C two years ago as well. The company that I did hire was surprised as they thought the unit did not appear to have been serviced in years.

I called and they offered someone to come out same day. Looking for a emergency shut off for a gas connection to put in a natural gas grill. Man arrive promptly and there's where it fell apart. He told me I needed a permit, and was offering a "check" to make sure there was gas at the site. (which I knew there was) which there was a charge. He never really answered my questions and I finally asked could he do it and how long would it take and would it be over $300 and he said more....he said the permit alone was $150 and it would be awhile......There was nothing in his conversation that made me think he knew what he was doing or he was taking me for a fool. I had already done some preliminary work on this and said No Thanks. I called TECO and they gave me a recommendation of Plummer who worked on gas connections. He is doing the job for $200 and will have it done it a hour. Insult to injury. I called and spoke to Customer Service Mger with Midway and she wasn't interested at all in the situation . She totally defended the actions of her employee. She obviously wasn't listening. She was non apologetic and is in the wrong business.

After another electrician spent days trying to locate the problem, Joe arrived to troubleshoot and repair a circuit breaker switch that intermittently tripped for a seemingly unknown reason. He found the problem in an unused wall receptacle in a room that is currently unoccupied. We were very impressed with Joe's professionalism, perseverance, and dedication to resolve this issue for us, and to represent Midway Services in such a positive manner.

Called Midway for a bad leak under the kitchen sink. The problem was quickly identified as a leak coming from the faucet. Service man offered several solutions and examples of different makes of faucets to replace. Did not pressure me for my choice of replacement. I chose the most expensive Moen faucet offered as it was the one I liked. It was installed and works perfectly.

On 11/28/17 Midway Services performed plumbing work at my Motherā€™s condo in Clearwater, FL for a simple 2pc toilet rebuild. Since it needed to be done she paid the $410 MIDWAY OVER CHARGED this INCLUDED a $60 discount, (originally Midway charges $470 for this work). After researching I found that 2017 prices for this type of service should have been (per Homewyse.com) $234.64 high side, $195.12 low side; also after talking to others and seeing what parts cost at Home Depot, etc the amount that Midway charged is OUTRAGEOUS....the TOTAL should have been between $150 to $240. 3 calls have been placed to Midway and I have been told that the Manager has my information...to date NO RETURN CALL, which leads me to the conclusion that not only are their prices INFLATED, they also LACK in customer service. So I am writing this review as many places as possible. NEVER CALL MIDWAY SERVICES FOR ANYTHING. Their PRICING is RIDICULOUS; they TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE ELDERLY and the final outcome of the product is NOT the best.....right now it takes approx. 5 minutes for the toilet tank to fill 3/4 of the way and that is supposed to be acceptable.....prior to this rebuild it DEFINITELY did not take that long. Do your research and NEVER call MIDWAY. I KNOW WE will NOT be calling MIDWAY again and WILL be telling other residents at The Top of The World Condos about this experience.

To Whom It May Concern; My name is Kathi and I am the Customer Service Manager at Midway Services. [Member Name Removed] called me about her mother's plumbing services and we have resolved all of her concerns. She is the daughter of Elizabeth Asselta and she is also the person who actually wrote the posted reviews. Elizabeth had been our customer for Electrical services in the past. She had PL service at her home on November 28th. [Member Name Removed] was there too. Our technician gave them the plumbing service options to fix their issues. He also gave them upfront pricing for those options. They chose an option, agreed to the price and had the work done. After our tech left, [Member Name Removed] said that she called other companies and also Lowes, to compare the pricing and then became upset at the price they agreed to pay. She called our office and complained to our Customer Service Representative. Because I was in a meeting when she called, I looked into the customer's information for the service before I responded. I always do this so that I know everything about a customer's service experience. And because it was now at the end of the day, I decided to call Elizabeth back in the morning. I called Elizabeth, at 10:45 AM on 11/29. The phone just rang and rang and it never went to Voice Mail. I was unable to leave a message for her so she didn't know that I had called. I called Elizabeth again and this time her Voice Mail was working and I left a message for her to call me back. In the meantime, "Elizabeth" went online and wrote two very unfortunate reviews about our company and the customer service she said she didn't receive about her concern. She posted this review on several sites. What [Member Name Removed] DIDN'T KNOW, is that I HAD called to speak to Elizabeth in a timely manner, but I couldn't leave a message because the Voice Mail was not working the first time I called her. So when [Member Name Removed] returned my call later that afternoon, I explained all of that to her. She admitted that she was the one who wrote the online reviews. I let her know that it is ALWAYS Midway Service's intention to help our customers and her concern WAS important to us! Midway Services has been in business for 60 years and every customer concern is discussed by management and then acted upon accordingly. I listened to [Member Name Removed]'s concern and we discussed every point of it. I agreed to give her mother a refund that brought her total price for the plumbing service to $175.00. [Member Name Removed] said she thought that was very fair and her mother would be happy with that. We also sent our plumbing tech back out to the home the next day, free of charge, to make sure that everything was running smoothly in Elizabeth's home. Our tech reported that Elizabeth had been happy with our service and everything was working the way it should be. Thank you from Midway Services.

Went well. The job required three trips. First to disconnect all hot prior to demolition. Next, the pre-wiring 220 and wire prep prior to installation of appliances, cabinet and fixtures. Third trip, closure of all appliances after plumbing, counter installation, cabinet install and drywall. A few more electrical details including drywall removal, cutting through walls and floors, etc. Overall, dependable and professional. The cost was very pricey but the satisfaction of well done work paid for peace of mind that job was done to all safety standards.
Description of Work: Electrical wiring in Kitchen. Complete wiring and electrical power for wall oven, microwave, exhaust hood, lightening and island power and lights.

I would give them an A rating. They come out immediately. I do have a service agreement with them which I get a discount for and its very affordable overall. Same-day service. It seems that all their technicians are very knowledgeable.

On February 7, 2017, I met with a Midway Representative named Shane to have my HVAC system replaced. He informed me that I would also need to, ā€œreplace my incorrect #10 conductor wire to a #8 conductor wire to meet Codeā€ for the new HVAC system I wanted (Estimate Attached). I was told this wire exchange would cost $2,000. Since Shane informed me it was the incorrect wire size and didnā€™t meet code I said yes to the exchange. I was under the impression this was an honest company with Technicians and Representatives with a comprehensive understanding of the National Electrical Code. Soon after the install I had the Mechanical & Electrical Inspector for Pinellas Park come to my familyā€™s home to inspect the new HVAC system. Almost immediately both of the County Inspectors questioned why I would replace my perfectly correct and up-to-code #10 conductor wire. I told them how Shane at Midway told me I needed the upgrade to meet code. They felt terrible that I was taken advantage of and even helped me find several consumer protection groups who were eager to assist. Shortly after, I called Midway and asked to speak with an Owner or CEO about the unneeded upgrade that I was told would be necessary for the install to meet code. The CEO didnā€™t call me back but instead the HVAC Manager Jeff did. I told him Iā€™d rather discuss the case with the Owner but he persisted. He told me he was going to call the employee and Inspector to verify. He only got a hold of the original technician who made the mistake, Shane, who assured him he wasn't wrong (makes you wonder how many other people paid the extra $2000 for the unnecessary upgrade...) With newfound confidence, the manager Jeff called me back and told me that I wouldnā€™t be worth the CEOā€™s time, told me that the Inspectors would never tell me what they did, he kept rushing me off the phone saying that he didnā€™t have time for it anymore. I have Autism and sometimes I mess up my words during a stressful situation, so the Manager started mocking me telling me to call the Surgeon General, NASA, and my other imaginary friends to be insulting. I didnā€™t want him to tease me anymore so I asked again if he was going to do anything and he said there was no way any inspector would agree with me. I asked, ā€œWhat if he does?ā€, the manager then told me, ā€œThen I would gladly give you a refund.ā€ We got off the phone at that point. The first thing I do is call the Shane to inform him of his mistake. Almost immediately he says, ā€œfrom a mechanical and electrical point I agree with you 100%. He then proceeded to tell me he only did it because the Inspectors make mistakes so he did it to be safe! I know that sounds insane. Especially as seeing the very opposite happened with the Inspector., Next I call the Inspector to verify everything again. He tells me how he just got off the phone with the HVAC Manager Jeff at Midway and that he had to correct the Manager (pretty scary that the manager there doesnā€™t have correct understanding of the NEC). The Inspector even stated that the Manager was very upset and rude to him when he didnā€™t hear what he wanted. Feeling great that the Manager now has the truth I call him back. The manager hangs up on me. I still havenā€™t heard back from the owner. On May 2, 2017, I get a call from a General Manager for Midway named Steven Kurz. The call starts off incredible with the General Manager admitting I was correct and promising to make the situation right. The manager tells me I will get a refund but that he doesnā€™t have any documents that show the upgrade for the wire cost $2,000. He made a good point so he told me $500 is fair because thereā€™s no proof of the $2,000. Luckily, not even 2 minutes after getting off the phone, I find the e-mail and recorded phone call with the HVAC Manager Jeff discussing how the new wire would cost $2,000. So, I immediately call the manager back and let him know I found the pricing. He then proceeds to tell me that that price was a mistake and that sometimes people make mistakes. So first they make the mistake of giving me the wrong wire and then calling me a liar. Now the Manager tells me I canā€™t get my full refund because the Representative made ANOTHER mistake in the wire pricing. Why should I pay the overprice if you admit I was charged too much? So, Iā€™m getting $500 only. Sincerely, Patrick

After 10 years with another a/c servicing co I decided to change to Midway after seeing their ads on local TV. They require you to prepay for an annual service contract before they come out. First visit they did normal maintenance but gave me a very long list of things that needed to be done but at prices 2 to 3 times prices I had paid in the past and indicated i should replace my system. My feeling was they were looking for everything possible to make it look like my system needed to be replaced and they pushed costs up to make the replacement system appear to be the cost effective choice. I talked to the manager and he agreed to call me in a month to give me time to decide what to do about the long list of repairs they wanted to do. He never called back. And I won't be contacting them again.

We expected to pay about six to seven thousand, and it was right at seven. It could always be cheaper. They came out, and we had to order the ac, they don't have these things laying around. They gave me an portable units for an week, it happened in July of last year. Which is good, because in Florida in July, its really nice today, but in July you are paying for it. Its hot. We have had some nice days lately. The first service was two people that came in and installed the unit, and the air handler was two people, so four workers. It was two and then two. The work took less than an day. I am real happy with what they did. I would recommend them, lets put it that way. I work in engineering, I don't do AC.

I called to set an appointment for an estimate for various small repairs around my home. I spoke to a lady in a call center, I explained my needs. We scheduled an appointment for two days later. I explained I work until 4:30 it would have to be after 5. No problem we will call 30 to 45 minutes prior to arrival. The morning of day they were to arrive, I received a call at 8 am stating they were on their way. I explained my appointment was for the afternoon. No problem she said, I will fix it. 4:00 that afternoon I recieved a call informing me my appointment was being cancelled due to high volume that day. They attempted to make it right, but I already felt as though I was seeing warning flags of incompetence.
Description of Work: Estimate for various small repairs around my home (i.e. ceiling fan instalation, replace bathroom vanity, repair storm door).
