Mel's Electrical

I'm afraid this business is CLOSED. No one responds to calls or messages. Mel was very good and I would use him again if he were open.

Never received a call back, so no work done, I would have appreciated a "too busy" or some response.

FANTASTIC I have 3 outlets in my kitchen and only 1 outlet worked. Called Mel and he really helped me out by making some time to check out my problem. He wasn't here more than 10 minutes and he figured out what was wrong and replaced a bad breaker. Gave me a fair price and his efforts to help me today are much appreciated.

We discussed all the things we needed and Mel provided useful information. We had a number of things done, including installing microwave, ceiling fan, ceiling and exterior fixtures, exhaust fans and shower lights in two baths, outdoor outlet, and new updated service panel. My favorite is the new backyard power outlet. I use it all the time for various projects. Mel did outstanding work and we would not hesitate to hire him again and recommend him to others.

Everything went well. Mel installed the ceiling fan in less than a 1/2 hour . He also removed an electrical line coming off of my electrical box and disposed of it for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

MEL ARRIVED ON TIME, INSTALLED A NEW CEILING FAN AND LEFT EVERYTHING SPOTLESS.

HE ARRIVED ON TIME, BOUGHT THE OUTLET FOR OUTSIDE THE FRONT DOOR AND INSTALLED IT IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. HE DID A VERY NICE JOB, AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE THAT NEEDS SOME ELECTRICAL WORK DONE.

Mel has experience working with mobile/manufactured homes. My outdoor circuit breaker box had rusted out, and every time it rained, the A/C breaker would trip. Mel came out and gave me an estimate, and also found a dead rat that had crawled into the breaker box through the holes in the bottom! I felt his estimate for the work was good. He and his helper replaced the box with a new one and made sure everything was working properly. He seemed knowledgeable and efficient, and left everything clean when he was finished. I'll call him again when I need electrical work.

Melvin came on time. Got all the work done perfectly and he also checked some outlets. I really appreciate his professionally. And I would recommend them.

Mel got started in a couple of days and got the work done in a couple of hours. Only problem was that the final price was $200 and I accidentally wrote the check for $220.....and he cashed it without mentioning that I wrote it for $20 too much. I'm going to assume it was an honest mistake on his part.

Mel and his helper arrived on time and each one took a different room and fan to install. They weren't easy jobs by any means. I have a flat roof in my family room and I have had numerous electricians tell me that they couldn't install a ceiling fan in that room. I was told they would have to run a line with a covering on it, etc, etc. When Mel was here the last time I asked him if he could possibly install a ceiling fan in that room. He looked at the area, asked me some questions and then said no problem, he could install the fan. After I bought my fans I called Mel and he e-mailed me that he was available the following day. He also had to install a fan in my living room that didn't have an outlet or previous electrical box. He had to put a box in and run a line and install the fan and a new light switch for me. He did all that without any mess or damage to my ceiling or wall. The two men had the two fans installed in almost two hours. I couldn't be happier, I will always call Mel's Electrical if I have any electrical work that need to be done.

We had an air handler that would not work and the breaker flipped. There was a short in the power supply box in the attic. I called Mel and made an appointment. He was on time and professional. He fixed the problem quickly. I would definitely call Mel again.

Mel and his helper were here on time, they explained what would be happening, did a great job and left things neat. He was very accommodating, sending out an extra receipt when my insurance company asked for it.

Mel gave fair estimate for the project. He kept to our agreed on schedule. He communicates clearly and honestly. He and his assistant clean up as they work and are most considerate. We count on Mel for all our electrical work.

Mel has done various electrical jobs for us over the last several years, but this is the first since we became a member of Angie's List. He has always been the ultimate professional. This time he showed up right on time, and went to work non-stop until they all were installed. Just a very pleasant, soft spoken, and easy to communicate with. Nothing is ever a problem. Need to mention in the past he has gone out of his way to solve a problem, and never charged us extra. We would never use any other electrician, and since he is a young gentleman I hope he will be around a long time. I highly recommend him!

The light switch on my fan stopped working on Sunday. This is the major source of light in my family room, so I was anxious to get it repaired ASAP. I didn't feel it was right to bother Mel's Electrical on Sunday, so I sent an e-mail. At the end of the day Mel e-mailed me back that he could fix my problem and gave me his estimate. He said he was available the next day (Monday) and he arrived early and fixed my switch. It is such a relief to have the light fixed so fast and without any problems. I have used Mel's Electrical before and he has never disappointed me.

MEL WAS VERY BUSY, BUT MANAGED TO COME OVER THE SAME DAY TO FIX MY PROBLEM. HE IS ALWAYS VERY PLEASANT AND VERY EFFICIENT. HE SOLVED MY PROBLEM IN A MATTER OF MINUTES. I HAD A BAD CONNECTION IN MY WALL OUTLET THAT AFFECTED TWO ROOMS.

Mel is very efficient and professional. This is the third time we have required Mel's expertise and service. The work was performed perfectly and the area where he cut through the ceiling was cleaned up and left spotless. This technician is superb. He is congenial and pleasant to work with. And most importantly his prices are very reasonable. We highly recommend him.

Mel completed the work in two hours and did an excellent job.

My husband and I were having trouble getting the new lights to work over the kitchen island. We had installed new ones but they wouldn't come on for us. We tested the light switch and then decided it was over our heads. I called Mel in the late afternoon of the 15th and he came at 8:30 am the next day. He inspected the light and found that one of the connections was loose so he used better caps to keep it tight and also cut some of the length from the pendant wires so everything would fit better under the ceiling plate. He also installed a new chandelier over the kitchen table. Mell is very pleasant and efficient. He was in and out within an hour.

This is the second project we hired Mel for and plan to do it again for the next project.
