Just before I deployed to Afghanistan I completely landscaped the back yard. I completely killed all the vegetation, graded the yard, installed a well, installed a sprinkler system and new Saint Augustine sod. The yard looked fantastic. I hired Massey to take care of my lawn while I was away for a year. I came home for R&R 3 times and each time I had to call the management to have them come and look at the mess they allowed my lawn to become. They never took care of the yard like they said they would because I was gone shortly after our face to face talk. You can now see how bad the yard is on Google Maps and especially if you were to look at it in person. Just look at their money back guarantee and they have not fulfilled their obligation or try to truly fix the problem. I spent more than 600 dollars on the yard service and almost 1200 dollars on the termite service. I would never recommend them to anyone and I believe they should have given me my money back so I can pay to replace the sod that they let get infested with weeds and fungus. Horribly disgusted and now I will be coming home from this h*** hole only to be disappointed with the h*** hole they allowed my yard to become. It is full of Dollar Weed, Nut Sedge, and other various weeds. Clifton Fischer I am still in Afghanistan and spoke to my wife on July 6th and she said that Massey has now called again because they want another hundred dollars for services they said they rendered. My daughters were home the day they said they came out...they did not perform any treatment what so ever and have the nerve to try and bill my wife.... I would like my money back, because you know they won't stand behind their so called warranty.
Description of Work: Lawn spraying for weed, pest and disease control. I also had them service the home for termites.

The Massey represented called made the appointment to visit. Was very punctual. After the house was fumigated, the representive returned for the final payment. The attic was fumigated on another day. He was very thorough.Everyone was very professional, including the workers who set up for the fumigating.
Description of Work: Entire house was fumigated for dry wood termites, including the attic.

I chose them as they had a fairly good rating on Angie’s List. They did a really good job. They guy who came out was really nice, helpful and informative. They told me they did not see any signs of termites which a previous guy said he did. Their pricing was similar to two other quotes I received but I wish it had been lesser. All their people who came out to talk to me and to perform the work were excellent. I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I use Massey Services of CLEARWATER (Pinellas) for termite extermination.

They never showed up to do any work so how can I judge anything. They want you to sign up for a monthly service contract, which is totally unnecessary , before they will do anything. I will never trust this company again.
Description of Work: They did absolutley nothing. Never showed up. I had lawn and shrub care every month and they never showed up. Needed my sprinkler system fixed and waited around all day. Ended up cancelling a contract for $77 per month plus $ 600 to fix the sprinklers. I do not know what is wrong with people in Florida, but I would NEVER use this company.

In the beginning I didn't like them very well because it was difficult to make appointments and they weren't very organized. I later learned that they were under new management and now that they have everything straightened out I'm happy with them and their services. I will continue to use them for my lawn maintenance.

We had new irrigation and sod installed on 3/11/2011 by a different company. Our first "lawn treatment" was prepaid through that company. Massey (Michael Duft) came out to set up the account. I explained to him that I was alittle nervous with using this company because its prior name was Middleton and we had already tried middleton and were not impressed. He told me not to worry because Middleton was great at lawn services and that by aquiring Massey they now had excellent inside services. He explained what was included (inside and out). I added a bug that I commonly found inside the house. I asked about paying for all services at the contract signing becauseI was interested in the discount, He told me to pay the intitial payment to get the work started and he would get back with me on the discounted price. No phone call back about the discounted price. I also stated that I wanted services on Tuesdays because my husband was home during these times. Services started on 3/21/2011 with outside lawn spraying. The new sod came with ants so I wanted to make sure the ants were killed right away. So they treated my lawn for pest (ants) and fertilized as you would for any new lawn. This was a monthly service so one month until next visit or as needed for problems. About 3 to 4 days later the ants werent gone, so I called to have someone come out and retreat. Noone showed up. Home services came on 3/29/2011 to start inside pest prevention. He noticed spiders so he treated for those and the obvious things in Florida (Roaches and Ants). They would be back out in a month and then quarterly or as needed. About a month last lawn had not showed up again. So I called and they told me the account was closed. I asked who closed it. They could not tell me, then they noticed that there were two accounts and neither were active. She also noted that the first company had not paid the first treatment fee. So now I was responsible for that first payment. She scheduled the lawn treatment for the next tuesday and fixed the accounts. During the next lawn treatment the tech (Aaron) found White clovers and treated for it. I noted to him that it was in our flower beds also and why werent they sprayed for the weed. He stated that our monthly service was alternating Lawn one month Landscaping the next month. This was not explained to us in the begining and I would not have agreed to the charges per month for one or the other service. I was told I was paying $45 a month for Lawn and $5 a month for landscaping. I was also explained that they dont treat flower beds for pest or the weeds just to fertilize the shrubs. I noticed at this time that our back yard had started to die. At this time I dropped the agruement and thanked Aaron, I would bring it up when I called the home office and talked with a supervisor. On that Saturday a home pest tech showed up at my house without a prior appointment. My babysitter was here with my children, at that time he didnt bother to contact us by cell to make sure it was ok to be at our house. We showed up about 20 minutes after he arrived surprised to see him at our house. We made sure our sitter was fine and asked if he said anything to her. He had not, He just started working in our backyard around the perimiter of the house. He asked me when I went outside if we had noticed any problems and I told him we have seen an increase in spiders in our house. He did some extra work onspider treatment. He left. I called the home office to deal with our problems with the service and our lawn dieing. She didnt understand why we were upset about our service and that our lawn couldnt be dieing. She stated that she was going to send out a supervisor to check our lawn. I hung up at this point furious with the company and the lack of management. A supervisor showed up at our house on the 6th of May. He checked our backyard out and found we have grey leaf spot disease. He would send someone out to treat. Also stated that it is not their services to treat landscaping other than to fertilize shrubs and that he would speak with Michael Duft. The tech (Aaron) came out on May 11th to start treatment in our backyard. Thanked him when he was finished. During this whole time period I was still trying to get ahold of Michael Duft. I had left messages with no response. I was told that he was on Vacation at the end of April (21st) and that is why my phone calls were not being returned. That he had been on vacation for three weeks. His work phone had not been forwarded to another salesperson. I very bluntly told the home office that he is my point of contact for the account since he set up the account with us and that it is not good customer service to just leave customers hanging. At least he could have changed his voicemail message to reflect the vacation time period. On May 12th I again attempted to get ahold of Michael Duft. He answered this time. I explained who I was and again the problems we were having. He said thats not possible. I told him infact it was, I had to end the phone conversation because my two small children were screaming, He stated he would call me back after investigating this situation. He didnt call me back instead he showed up at my house. We have a door with a semi circle in the top of it. I had a sign on the door to knock please because babies are napping. I am walking out of the kitchen towards the door when I see a face peering into the top window and then he knocked. Not only do I find this offensive because there is no reason to look into my house on the first knock but its intrusive. I answer the door and come out to the front porch and he asks me whats wrong. I told him I'm p***** off because for more than three weeks we had tried to get ahold of him. He told me to just stop right there because I had no reason to be p***** off. At this point I told him to cancel the contract and went back into my house. This company has no customer service skills. They have management that has no clue how to be management. And their salesperson is a fraud.

They do all types of lawn care and termite control. They do a great job with everything. We have used them many times. They let themselves in and locked the doors when they left. I was pleased with their price, and they are trustworthy.
Description of Work: They tented and fumigated our house for pest control. Also they do our regular termite inspection.

Massey Lawn services are at best dishonest , They killed part of my lawn did not repair as per the contract and then tried to service after I fired them so they could sneak in one billing. I had to call the police to remove them. Now they are trying to lien on my property for a contract I canceled

Massey replaced the sod/lawn at my next door neighbor's house a few months after I had replaced my own lawn this Spring. My first impression of the service came when they used some kind of herbicide to kill off my neighbor's old lawn. Whoever did the application of the chemicals did a poor job of controlling the spray and it killed off a portion of the grass that I had just replaced in the adjacent area of my yard. My neighbor and I spoke and after that interaction I was confident that the grass would be replaced so I didn't press the issue further. 6 weeks or so later the sod was replaced on my neighbor's yard, including the area of my lawn that had been affected. While I was happy that the dead grass was finally replaced, the new sod was of poor quality and generally in bad condition (wilted and yellow). This was true for a good portion of the lawn overall, and much of what had been installed subsequently died, leaving large patches of rotted/dead grass. I spoke with my neighbor on several occasions and they had tried to get Massey to fix the issue but to no avail. I even offered to contact Massey myself on their behalf several times but they declined my assistance. To date the lawn has not been replaced/repaired and there are still several areas that have not grown in, including areas of my own lawn that were originally killed by the herbicide application. I will replace that section myself when the weather cools down. Also worth mentioning is that my neighbor informed me that they had to enter into agreements for lawn maintenance and treatment with Massey to maintain the 'warrantee' for the new lawn.

I have had a good experience with them. They are friendly and helpful when they come. They answer all my questions when I have any. I haven?t had any problems with them.

The salesperson that came was extremely informative and knowledgeable. He did not use any sales tactics and inspected the house thoroughly. He also drew a map of the house outlining all the major problem areas. We had contacted a couple of other companies too, but found Massey Services to be the most impressive. We still do see a lot of ants around, and they are promptly coming today in response to our call to check on it.
Description of Work: We signed up with Massey Services Inc. for pest control as we had a problem with ant infestation. They come every quarter, and the last time they came was two weeks ago. The outside and inside of the house were infested with ants, and they had sprayed insecticides and laid baits.
