Everything went fine. I like them. The service was good. Sometimes it took them a while to get out, so that was a problem sometimes, especially if the air conditioning was out.

He replaced my air pan and got my AC working that day. He is a great guy and I could tell he really likes keeping the old units running!
Description of Work: Simply the BEST service I have ever received! He did the work quickly and got my AC back on-line. He prefers to repair and keep old units working over trying to sell you an expensive new AC system that won't last as long as the old one.

I have been using this company for years. Brian is outstanding. He is an honest, professional who you can rely on. I called him on the 21st and he was at my house by 10am on the 22nd. He figured out the problem in a few minutes, fixed everything and was gone within an hour or so. NEVER tries to upsell anything... he will fix what is needed and nothing more. I have recommended him to numerous friends who always call to thank me when he leaves. You will be pleased with his work!

it went well for the first year and a half, but they forgot me after that on a 3 year contract. paper work did not mention duration of contract, but they said they would honor the 3 year and add for the missed followup half way through the contract. not great and not poor. they did install insulation to quiet the units (2) for free and that was very good.
Description of Work: cleaned ac unit and checked everything, installed ultraviolet lights for mold reduction, but did not say that these (300 a piece) are good for only 2 years. not a good thing. service was okay.

Hello [Member name removed] , Thanks for your reviews , when we installed your uv lights , you asked and we told you that the bulbs need to be changed annually , but so times you can get up to 2 years before bulbs need to be replaced , when I told you it was time t race the bulbs , you elected not to do so , then when I was getting ready to leave you found out that the bulbs only needed to be replaced and stated that on your next service you would change them . As far as missing your scheduled date , you told me you forgot to call us for an appointment , we gratefully said we would add 1 visit on to your contract . You might also remember that when I installed your uv lights , I took your pumps apart and cleaned them and also cleaned out the drain pans that were all clogged up , ( at no extra cost ) . You mentioned you just had the unit serviced by another company and you weren't happy with them . We look forward to seeing you on your next maintenance checkup , thanks again

It's wintertime in Florida and while it's not that cold, when I woke up to find my heater wasn't working and the temperature in the house was 56 degrees, I called Lewis Air Conditioning and Heating. Brian Lewis came out that same day. Brian spotted the problem right away. Interestingly, it was the result of something that was installed incorrectly by a previous company that finally gave out. He fixed the problem and was done within an hour. Brian didn't try to sell me anything beyond what it took to fix the immediate problem and told me my system was in good shape otherwise. I liked the fact that his charges were broken down between labor and parts so I could see each item individually. No hidden fees, in other words. Brian struck me as a very experienced professional and someone I can trust to tell me the truth and do an efficient, competent job.
Description of Work: My heater went on the blink on one of our coldest days. I called Brian and he came out that same day, spotted the problem right away and fixed it quickly for a reasonable price.

This is the second time I have had to call. The first time was on a Monday. I sent 3 emails through Angie's list and he responded within 15 minutes. He then called me at the time I stated I was available. He worked me into his schedule even though it was later in the evening. Came out and knew what the problem was within 5 minutes. He replaced the part and was gone within an hour. Very friendly and informative. he showed me how to do some preventative maintenance on my AC. The second time it was on a Saturday, I called and left a message at 10:30 AM. he called me by 11 AM and was at my house before noon. Again he had it figured out within 5 minutes. he did not have the part I needed. He was able to get a part that will work over the weekend because I have a football party Saturday night and needed the AC. He is coming out during the week to fix with the correct part. He was here over an hour and a half and did not charge me a dime for the visit. He will be out later in the week to finish the Job. I will recommend Lewis Air to anyone that needs AC work.

He really went above and beyond the job. He did a great job with the work and also dealing with the other company. Brian was very responsive to my calls and setting up the appointments. I really appreciate the work that he did for me.
Description of Work: I purchased the big deal for a service call. I had him out to change the capacitor and he tightened up the fan bolts, and he noticed there was a wrong fan motor that was recently replaced by another company. He called the other company who did the work and acted as a mediator for me and they actually came back out and fixed the work and gave me an upgraded motor for free and a fan blade.

Had to delay service then had to cancel appt. due to other work. Is now suggesting work next week. Too much delay, I've run out of free time. Nice guy but I feel the company is too small and have lost confidence in dependability. I will go with a larger company who offers emergency service, probably Caldeco.

I called to request a maintenance service call for my AC. I was told that my location in southern Pinellas county was too far away unless it was a big job.. When I asked why, the provider said they wouldn't travel that far to perform just a service call, but if I gave my name, address,etc. they would contact me to arrange my service at the same time they were performing other service calls in my location. They never did. Be advised- they don't REALLY service all of Pinellas county.

Brian came out and fixed the issue. He was professional and courteous. The issue affecting the air conditioning system was covered under the warranty, so there was no charge for the work or service call. The repair went smoothly, and was back up and running in short order.

My friend/coworker gave me the name and number of this company and shared that she and her husband were very happy with work that the owner had done with her a/c unit. I called at about 11am today and was so relieved that Brian was willing to fit me into his schedule this afternoon!!! I was very impressed by his professionalism and thorough assessment of my a/c unit. I found Brian to be personable and respectful and I greatly appreciate that he took the time to fully explain what was wrong with my a/c and provide options available for fixing it. In 2012, I'd had an a/c repair done by a "moonlighting" a/c repairman and Brian showed me where that repairman had incorrectly completed the work and left my a/c at major risk for catching on fire and me at risk for getting shocked. Not only did he quickly repair my unit, he corrected the work the other repairman had done incorrectly. I will definitely use this company again and will encourage friends and family to feel confident in calling if they need a/c repair or replacement. Thank you so much, Brian!!!

Great job! My ac conked out on a Friday night. Lewis AC worked me in on Saturday...he arrived exactly when he told me he would. He found the problem quickly and had a real mess to clean up from a bad install. Professional and very helpful. Will be signed a maintenance contract with him!

Lewis Air replaced my AC system would my old system failed over a very hot weekend. They replaced my old system on a Sunday and have maintened it now for almost eight years. They are friendly, ontime and neat!

Our 5 ton air handler was installed by another company and placed on a single piece of plywood with nothing supporting it. Due to the lack of support, the unit was sinking and the vent coming out of the unit became unsealed. Brian Lewis came out to provide an estimate and scheduled the job for the following week. It was not an emergency and the timing worked well for when I could be at home around my job. The day of the job he called me from the hardware store to let me know he was going to run a little late - I appreciated the notice. He and his assistant jacked up our unit and custom-built a support. They also sealed the vent. Additionally, he provided and installed specialty screws and closed the outside unit, which was left open by a technician from another company. They also cleaned up after themselves - this included vacuuming. We have three a/c units on the property and have decided to go with Lewis Air Conditioning & Heating to maintain them from this point forward. Very professional and personable - even with my kids, their friends and our pets running around.
Description of Work: Rebuilt the a/c closet and resealed the vent in the closet.

Upon inspection Brian found a few fixable issues. I had a Freon leak and a bad capacitor in my compressor. Brian also found that the fan motor was starting to go. Brian explained everything in detail in regards to how these parts worked and what my options were in making repairs. At no point did I feel that Brian was trying to sell me anything that I didn't need. When I bought my house it was bank owned and there was not a lot of information passed to me about the age of my unit. I could tell by looking it wasn't "newer". My concern was having to replace it. I inquired about replacing it with Brian. He again explained everything in detail as to what would need to be done to replace it and gave me the information to make a decision on whether I should just make the repairs now and replace the unit later. In no way did he push me in either direction. I made the choice to replace the compressor. This was on a Saturday outside of Brian's normal posted hours, at no point was that an issue nor did it cause any extra costs. Personally I've never experience that with a repair company. Brian then made some temporary repairs to get my unit up and running until he had a chance to shop for the best deal on a compressor. This included using parts from Brian's inventory at no cost. By Tuesday of the next week Brian had found a compressor that would fit my needs and installation was arranged. Brian showed up promptly and installed my new unit. I was very impressed and comfortable with Brian and his business that I signed up for a yearly maintenance contract. It would be great if all companies performed at this level. Thanks Brian! Also, I'd like to add that the "F" rating from a previous customer was not posted upon my choosing Brian and after reading when coming in to add my review I am very surprised and based on my experience with Brian am not buying it as being accurate.
Description of Work: My A/C was blowing warm air. I found Brian on Angie's List and picked him because of the positive reviews. Brian came out promptly and inspected my unit to determine the problem.

What a disaster! Brian has very poor social skills and the interaction ended with him declaring, "I don't need this stress!" and storming out the door, but not before slamming it very hard! He became more and more angry and it was a mystery to my husband and me as to why! And all because we had questions regarding the proposal he was giving us for our home which he said would require extensive duct work and extra returns which would have involved cutting into ceilings etc. (Verbal estimate totaled "approximately $1500 which also included fixing a leak and connecting a return that he said was not connected??) Both AC units were installed in 2010, so they are new and we have had no issues with them. All we wanted was a new AC guy and a maintenance contract. Our last AC company that we had for 3 years and who installed the units had just checked both units with their maintenance contract 2 weeks prior and all was AOK. I mentioned to Brian that the AC company said the system has a 10" return and needs a 14" for better air flow. MISTAKE. He focused completely on duct issues after getting that information and I never got information about if the units themselves were OK or not. He said the homes (Arthur Rutenberg, built 1989) weren't built adequately with enough returns etc to accommodate AC needs.??? I chose him based on his "A" grades on Angie's List, but unfortunately, this was not our experience. After I told him I decided to "hold off" on the maintenance contract, and to charge me for today's service only, he said that if I did not do the maintenance contract, today's charges would be $129 per unit! Wow! Update-6/19/13-Received a call from Brian to remind us that he didn't charge us a dime and wanted us to remove the "F" rating. He also admitted that perhaps his social skills were not the best. My husband reminded him that he did not get all "F's," and the "F" he received was based on his behavior in our home, and that he felt it was important for customers to know the experience we had for better or worse. Brian began to get angry again. My husband said to him that his anger on the phone was exactly what we were referring to on our report and that he was doing it again! He then told my husband that we would be receiving a bill in the mail! Had he been nice to us on the phone, this could have all been worked out. Unfortunately, it did not work out that way, and we were threatened with a bill after we would not remove our "F" rating. We wish him the best, we really do.

The member reported she chose us because of our reviews : Which is an "A" rating ! We received a call from the member and she was very upset with other company because they told her she needed more return air added to their systems after 3 years of servicing their unit . I serviced your system as you requested , cleaned leaves out of your 2 outdoor units and confirmed you needed more return air added to both systems in fact 1 duct wasn't even connected and just laying in the attic , your supply air duct at air handler is leaking on master bedroom a/c unit . In your comments you said other company said everything is fine ? How can that be if everything is fine then why did you call us ? After I performed all the work that you wanted you decided not to uphold your side of the deal , I decided to walk out of your house and not charge for my 2 hours of service . I was going to charge you a $129.00 for 2 hours of service and you weren't happy with that either and then you insinuate that I did nothing ! I love what I do and it shows by all the reviews I have previously received . We still feel that I made the right decision by leaving your premises ! Our AC system stopped cooling around 4pm so we looked on Angie's List and called Lewis AC & Heating. Brian, the owner, came out within 2 hours and worked diligently until he found the problem which turned out to be a leak in a coil which he repaired and even guaranteed his work. After 20+ years as a home owner in Tampa, we finally found someone who is not only passionate about their trade but an excellent craftsman as well. We feel Brian was honest and very reasonable given the amount of time he put in to find and resolve the problem in one visit and would highly recommend Lewis AC & Heating to anyone. Thank you Brian! PS: Wish we could only find as good a lawyer now.

It went so well with my first contact through Angie's list that I have established a relationship for additional work with Lewis AC & H for all work needed on my properties.
Description of Work: I took advantage of an "Angie's List Special" for the evaluation and addition of an IR Filter system to my a/c. Lewis AC&H was punctual, professional and very helpful with questions I had. Since the initial service I have utilized Lewis AC&H on two more properties I own with the same outcome and results. He has dealt well with renters I have on my other properties who also reiterate his performances. I would Highly recommend his services as he presently takes care of all the H&AC for my four residential properties.

Brian diagnosed the problem and offered a fair price for the parts and labor. I have no complaints about the service and am looking forward to using Brian for a new renovation project tha we have planned in December.
Description of Work: My wife and I are moving inot our new home this weekend, and of course the AC broke yesterday. I was able to book my appointment on the same day and Brian was out and fixed my issue on the sport. The service was superb and I would definitely recommend using Lewis Air Conditioning again.
