Landscape By Design

They do a great job, really seems to care about how my property looks after he is finished. He obviously takes pride in their work and the result is beautiful. If says he will do something, they do it well and on time. I have hired and fired numerous lawn services that blow through my lawn as if in a race. This company is the rare exception. The place has never looked better.

It went wonderfully. Mark was the only landscaper who really had an interest in my project. I called two other companies but they didn't even supply an actual estimate-not anxious for my business, I guess. Mark and Corey are knowledgeable about the whole picture-plants, irrigation, esthetics. They also have access to unusual plants that others told me were not available. The crew worked hard and did a beautiful job! What a difference and what fun to watch the big flat-bed truck pull up with a 12 foot Bismarck palm tree. One other thing: I was touched by Mark's hiring of a mentally challenged young man. He required extra supervision and I'm sure it would have been easier for Mark to hire someone else. What a guy! Hire him!

All went well. Mark and his crew worked long and hard in the HOT sun finished in two days transformed my yard and now I can enjoy it. They also transplanted two palms I had in the wrong place and now they are doing well in their new location. Thanks guys you did a great job.

I was impressed with Mark from the first visit. He was extremely knowledgeable. He gave me tips on how to take care of the lawn for the first 30 days and even took the time (without asking) to change the height of our lawn mower to the proper height! When his crew arrived, he gave me notice in advance that they might be able to start early. They did in fact start a day early and finished the work in a couple of days. The crew was very professional and courteous. They cleaned up after themselves and left the lawn looking great. We had one issue where the tree was not firmly seated. We called Mark and they came out that day and reseated the tree AND added more rock to the plant bed without additional cost. I would hire them again without hesitation and would refer them to anyone needing a landscaper.

Mark and his crew were very busy but came by within a day of initial contact to view the area and discuss the work we wanted to have performed. We talked with him about the vision we had for the area and he listened and said that he would recommend some plants based upon our wants. He sent me an e-mail with recommendations that my wife and I considered and then chose several plants. We scheduled the work for the following Wednesday and Mark and team arrived right on time and began working. Our house was a foreclosure/remodel and the landscaping had been neglected and overrun with liriope but they patiently dug it all out and cleared out old roots then replanted and mulched the area. They also reshaped the beds with new sod. The front of our house looks great!

Mark and his team were polite and courtious and kept us up to date what they would be doing each day. They asked questions along the way to make sure we were getting the products and services we wanted. He went above and beyond and trimmed some extra bushes and trees for us too. Everything looks fantastic and we are edited to spend the summer in our beautiful new backyard!

This was a multiday job which usually had 2-3 people working at any given time. They were polite to me and very mindful of what would be in my best interests. I appreciate all their hard work.

Mark and team were very responsive and adaptable to our needs. We do not live in the U.S. but have a home in Tampa, so scheduling was an important factor. They were able to schedule while we were in Tampa and performed all the work with great results and attention to detail. A very personable and professional crew. Very happy with the results and would certainly recommend.

Mark came over to my home with an assistant and a truck. They actually did more than I thought they would do cleaning up the area around the bushes/plants as well as cutting back the bushes/plants which had taken on a life of their own. When Mark finished the work, he removed all the debris from the cuttings and weeds. He planted bushes to fill in where plants had to be removed. He left making me feel proud of my landscaping.

Mark and Mark arrived and got to work taking care of work I had requested. Mark also identified some items that needed to be attended to so my trees could look there best and continue to be healthy. Very courteous, friendly and professional in all aspects. I have used Mark before and will again. Thanks Mark and Mark!!

Mark and his crew were able to address our landscaping mess the week I contacted him. Landscape By Design has done several other sizable jobs for us at our home in Dunedin, and the guys always do a top-notch job. Mark generally starts with a full walk-around of the property with me and asks a lot of detailed questions regarding what our goals are - sometimes we're only interested in making a dent in tasks that we normally do ourselves (e.g., weeding and light clearing of areas to be planted, distributing mulch over the entire property), other times it's more of a full court press on reclaiming an area back from Mother Nature as was the case with this job (completely weeding an overgrown pebbled area, taking out sapling thickets, shaping up citrus trees, and taking down a foot-high back yard). Either way, LBD always does exactly what they say they will for the price they quote - no shenanigans regarding work scope or the amount to be charged. Mark works along side of his crew, and they will go at it from morning til night to the job done. I highly recommend this outfit - they are always our go-to guys for jobs that can get completely overwhelming!

I talked to Mark several times on the phone trying to coordinate a time when we could meet to discuss our landscape issues. He was friendly and enthusiastic. We met 8/29 and both my husband and I were impressed by Mark's ideas, creativity and willingness to work with our relatively tight schedule (our house was going on the market). At the conclusion of the visit, Mark said he would confirm a plan, a date when he could begin the work and provide a cost estimate via email within the following 2-3 days. When we had not heard from him after 5 days, we called. I had never had difficulty reaching him by phone, but this time the "mailbox was full." A later attempt to reach him was also unsuccessful. We never received an estimate or heard from him again. It was very disappointing. In the end, my husband and I did the work ourselves...using many of Mark's excellent ideas. We hope he is well but, obviously, will look elsewhere for landscape services in the future

Mark Higgins was very professional, creative in his ideas, thorough, and listened to my needs and wants. He is a true professional and an artisan at his craft!

Very good workers Mark was easy to talk too. Fit me in to his schedule because I was having a party the 22nd.

Mark Higgins came by our home, and did a thorough walk through of our property, he was very upfront, honest, and professional. We have had bad luck finding regular maintenance in our area. Mark was very honest about the prohibitive cost of doing monthly maintenance for our home. He is based out of St. Pete, so the cost of gas alone is astounding. Add to this that he maintains a good work environment for his employees by paying them a good wage. This is not a fly by night, "look I've got a lawn mower" service. There is obviously a deep amount of care for his employees. Since we are so far out monthly maintenance costs would be too much for our budget. That said, we will ABSOLUTELY be looking to use Mark and his crew in the future when we do some big projects. There is nothing better than helping a small business that treats their employees right! Absolutely recommend Landscape by Design!!! And, just because he was here, he trimmed back bushes for us at a very reasonable price. We were his last estimate of the day, so he did us a HUGE favor. Even better? He stopped by to see his mom and treat her to lunch! Who wouldn't want to support that!?

Here's exactly what I said to Mark: "Just wanted to say that you guys did a GREAT job. We're out here enjoying the backyard right now. And, while we're biased, we think we have the nicest looking front yard in the neighborhood."

It went very well, we are happy with how it came out and will be excited to see it grow over the coming months. 10/10 would hire again.

When Mark initially came out to provide an estimate neither one of us knew the extent of the root system under the mulch that was our little back yard area. Due to what we found, a one day job turned into 2.5 days and cost more than estimated, understandably so. Mark and his partner worked very hard to get the job done and provided me with opinions and options as they went along. All in all everything turned out great. Was very good to work with.

Mark from Landscapes By Design did exactly what he said he would do and completed the work in the time-frame promised. He met with us and spent a considerable amount of time and effort educating us about various plants and flowers, and he offered suggestions about different landscaping options. He was never pushy and was respectful of our budget and time-frame. The work completed was high quality and we were very pleased with the results. In fact, we've set up a quarterly agreement to keep our landscape fresh and neat. Mark communicated clearly and promptly about a change in the time-frame for the work (due to a weather-related problem), which demonstrated his high level of professionalism.

They do a great job! They are always prompt and courteous and do a thorough job of the lawn care. I've never had any issues and I plan to use their services for more extensive care & landscape design in the future.

Mark and his staff kept to the agreed timetable. The work was professional and fully satisfied my objectives. The staff were extremely polite and hardworking. The full scope of work was completed as agreed and within budget. The money was well spent and I am extremely satisfied with it.
