Fantastic. Great guy, good hard work and honest prices.

Called for an estimate. Was prompt in scheduling appointment and showed up on time. Was honest that the scope of work we needed done was more than he usually took on. Given his honesty and knowledge of plants, I will ask him to come back when I an ready to put in the landscape portion of my project.

Mark and his associate were very responsive in assisting us is getting our landscaping presentable for the holidays. Things had gotten very overgrown and the we had weeds everywhere. The estimate to do the work was reasonable and the work was performed as and when promised. We'll be calling on Landscape by Design for regular maintenance.

I was impressed from the first day I met with Mark. He was professional, polite, and above all punctual. He was always available and returned my calls or emails promptly, even on the weekends or at night. While he was working on the job, he kept me informed of his progress. He completed the job in October but he still stops by months later to check on the plants and gives me a status.

I wish is was possible to give Mark and his team a rating HIGHER than an A+ as he did incredible work!!! We had a few other people come out and take a look and basically all they did was say "what do you want me to plant here" and "this is what it will cost you". My husband and I have no idea what kind of plants to get (hence us hiring a landsaper) so we were feeling a bit discouraged...until we met Mark. During the initial consultation/estimate Mark came to our house and spent over TWO HOURS with us listening to what we wanted, helping us pick the right plants,teaching us about our soil and how to care for the plants. While waiting for him to work up the estimate, my husband and I knew he was the right guy for the job but we held our breath waiting for the price. As much detail and work and the amount of plants he proposed, we thought for sure this was going to be more than we could afford. Wonderful surprise when Mark came back with an estimate WAY below what we were expecting (and the price even included digging up pavers and taking them to the dump and also a key lime tree and a navel orange tree). Although he had a busy schedule, Mark's goal was to finish our job prior to Thanksgiving. He thought it would take 3 days to finish but when he and his team showed up, they worked so hard it was done in 1 day! The guys did not stop for a second, constantly working. They were friendly, courteous and very knowledgeable and patient with my questions. One of the team members (Jerry) is an irrigation system expert and he set our sprinklers to correctly water the plants and he showed us how to use our timer. That in itself was a HUGE help! Mark has since called us twice to make sure everything still looks good and to answer our questions. We are absolutely going to use him to re-sod our lawn in the spring and can't wait to see him again and see the magic he can work on the rest of our property! Overall, the work that Mark and his team did is so beautiful and so well done that I have already recommended him to three people who will be calling him this spring for their homes. We couldn't be happier!!!

Very well in spite of a great deal of rain during the project. Everything looks great.

Very knowledgable about landscaping.

I wrote a review approx a month ago, i wanted to follow it up with my experience last nite, given a particularly heavy downfall. Here in south tampa i guess we received 4-5 inches of rain in approx an hour. Although my yard filled up as usual with this kinda of downpour, within 2 hrs of the rain stopping my yard was drained and doing well. I'd like to thank Mark and Stacey again....very amazing!

I truly love how he transformed my yards! Just looking at them brings a smile to my face. My husband and I highly recommend Mark. He was a joy to work with.

The job was done over a two day period. Mark has done many jobs for me over the years and is excellent at waht he does.

Mark was very helpful in the design and planning of the project, providing a number of options for consideration. Communications were great from start to finish, and after installing tree and sod he came back regularly to check on both. Just and excellent experience and would highly recommend Landscape by Design for any landscaping project. They did such a great job, I have asked them to provide weekly yard service.

Mark responded promptly and made several trips to discuss the project and showed me plant samples. He was punctual and kept me informed of progress. Everything went as planned and he completed the work in a timely manner.

We decided not to have the work done at this time but would definitely consider using his company in the future. It is no surprise why Mark has gotten so many good reviews and has received the Angies List Super Service Award. He is a true professional who really knows his craft and I would highly recommend his company to anyone who appreciates beautiful landscaping.

The shrubs and bushes in my front yard needed pruned and some needed replaced. I called Mark Higgins, the owner of Landscape by Design, on July 10th. He returned my call that evening and came by my house the next morning. I told him I wanted some color added to the front in addition to removing some of the older, scraggly shrubs/bushes. I also wanted low maintenance and low cost plants to replace the bushes he removed. Mark came up with a plan on the spot. He suggested some beautiful flowering plants that omplimented the color of the house. I also asked him to put fresh mulch down. He and another man came the next morning and got right to work. They finished before noon, and I was extremely happy with the results. The front looks updated, fresh, and colorful. I was very pleased with Mark's design, price, and finished product. I would highly recommend him, and I plan on using his expertise and design skill to clean up my Dad's front yard.

He was very professional, very courteous. He had some good ideas about what type of plants would be best in our area. He did a free pH sample on our soil. He prepared the quote on the spot, which I liked. He seemed like he was a little packed on his schedule so we ultimately decided to use another provider.

We selected Landscape by Design from a group of landscapers with high Angie's List ratings...all of which were good and gave good proposals. Mark Higgins impressed us with his understanding of our desires and needs as well as his artistic design for the new plantings in front of our office building. He was very busy but worked us in to his schedule to begin the landscaping the next Monday. He and his crew actually worked all day on Sunday, Mothers Day, to complete the job before the day that we wanted to have it finished. We will definitely use Mark Higgins and Landscape by Design again...and have asked him to come back quarterly to maintain the landscaping and keep it looking manicured.

They were quite high. He may not have really wanted the job. I thought they were too expensive, they were professional enough and stuff, but their price was too high. They were very responsive. I got other estimates. I'd use them in the future if they'd come in comparable to the other estimates, they were a couple thousand higher than another estimate. I found them on Angie's List.

They were nice people. I had a lot of work that needed to be done and so I had several estimates. I couldn't really get everybody on the same page to match apples to apples as comparison, so it wasn’t really fair at that point; some could do some things and some could not do the other. I couldn't find anybody who would do all the things that I wanted. I ended up having to do it myself. They were very professional and very knowledgeable, but they are not all inclusive. If I wanted what their specialty is, I would use them.

Sod was replaced at a residential home. Landscape by Design killed all the weeds, leveled the ground and replaced sod. Instructions were given to maintain the new sod. Overall experience was better than the last two contractors hired.

Landscape by Designdid an outstanding job listening and developing a perfect landscape design for the front of our house. The experience was outstanding and ther results exceeded our expectations. They take extra personal care in ensuring the owner's visions are executed and do an excellent job in making sure they focus on the details to ensure satisfaction and a job well done. We had a very positive experience and needing more landscape work done in the future, they will be the landscape company we call back! Hire them, you won't be sorry you did!

Mark was very prompt with the proposal and follow up. Once we scheduled the work they showed up on time and kept me informed of their progress. Since they had a lot to remove we had time to discuss changes to layout and plantings. The removal of the existing plantings was more extensive due to the Rafus palms, since they traced and pulled the roots to avoid repopulation. I was very pleased with the work performed. The plants looked very nice and seem to be taking off ok. Over and above the plantings, the crew ensured that my current irrigation system was sufficient for the new plantings and called in a repair company to fix an issue 9not created by then) and install new heads. Mark has followed up via email to ensure the plants are thriving and that I'm keeping up on the hand watering he recommended for the larger trees.

At first it went well, but then we started having problems. Once I had to actually ASK the mower (not Mark) to mow the back!!!!!!!! Yes, you read that right. I was sitting in the house when they came & they did NOT mow the back! I was speechless! My husband, Richard, told me to do something since we have small bushes lining the driveway & the grass is growing up through the bushes - he commented to me one day, "you know they could at least pull the grass out of bushes"! Richard told me because the mowers are paid minimum wage, they do the minimum, but I can't put all the blame on them. Mark (owner) was here Fri & after they finished I told him we couldn't afford his service anymore. Mark NEVER pulled the grass out of those bushes nor did anything else! Basically they just mowed the front. Addendum 5/10/13: I was afraid to mention that I was unsatisfied as I did not want to be a bother to him and our previous landscape company told me I was a bother and I did not want that to happen again. I just read Mark's reply - Really???About pulling grass out of the bushes lining the driveway - NOT part of the contract? My husband Richard is VERY laid back & easy-going but even HE mentioned it to me!!! In fact, I pulled tall grass out of those bushes myself!!! What was the big deal with THAT??!!! Whatever...

It was the most pleasant experience I've ever had with a service business of this type. Mark was reliably prompt and responsive both with phone calls and work performed. He came to our home a couple of days after I contacted him to provide an estimate for the work we needed done. We communicated via phone and email about my choice of plants and the schedule. A week later he and his team had restored our yard from a weeded, half-finished DIY mess to a beautiful, professionally done landscape. Mark's crew was outstanding! They were easy to talk to, knowledgeable about plants, and entirely willing to work. A week later, all of my new plants appear to be healthy and happy. We just had a party and everyone raved about how nice the place looks. I would recommend Landscape by Design without reservation.
