He did a great job and was able to start a day sooner than promised.

Mark was very professional. He provided a plan and worked with us on selecting plants that would be deer resistant and low maintenance. He and his crew completed the job in 2 days. They came back and checked on status and replaced one plant that he (and we) were not satisfied with. A few days after the installation, Mark had a colleague stop by and inspect our irrigation system to make sure all the new shrubs and trees were getting apprpriate coverage. We could not be more pleased with Mark's work, his professionalism and attention to detail. Everything was completed in a timely manner and within budget. We highly recommend Mark Higgins and Landscape by Design.

They were very late. Took forever. Didn't show up. Did a sloppy job. They said it was a quick job but took 8weeks to finish. Wouldn't return calls. Very unprofessional. Very very disappointed. Would never hire them ever again. Very sad the way I was treated. Hired someone of the street to do some of the brick work. Which they had to redo. Unnecessary.

They show up every week and do a great job of mowing & edging my lawn. The 1st time they came to my home, my back yard was like a jungle. They had it cleaned up within a few hours. No complaints, they did a great job!

After waiting for the rain to subside for long enough that the sod could be cut and laid, Mark had my new lawn ready and waiting for me one day when I came home from work. He mentioned a spot that looked like it might not be covered by the sprinkler and did not sod that small corner where a head should go. I reviewed the irrigation with my provider and everything looked good-to-go but that corner was still bare. I called Mark back and made sure he was kept up-to-date on everything and to thank him for the work and a day or two later the sod fairy came by just to patch a less than one square foot hole in the lawn. That's what I call service.

He was very knowledgeable and gave us a good plan. We were getting ready to move and decided not to go with the plan at the time.

Mark and Jesse are great. They always go to extra lengths to insure that everything is taken care of. I have the nicest lawn / landscaping in the neighborhood. They are always friendly and always come once a week to do the grass / trimming. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing lawn care.

Mark and his team Jesse and Will were wonderful! Mark really gives good advice and design suggesttions to really add a special touch. I'm a bit quirky and they were so kind to tolerate my idosycracies and I'm delighted with my newly planted beds with decorative pots. I'm recovering from a broken femur and these gentlemen went over and above to deliver the plants, potting soil, mulch, and all items needed to relandscape my beds. I didn't tell them about my broken Ieg until the work was almost done so I knew this customer service standard was the same excellent service provided to everyone. They went to work and got the job done quickly and when they left everything was done and cleaned to perfection. I even made a communication error about the number of plants I wanted of one type. Jesse was very kind and tolerant to run back to the nursery to pick up the plant I forgot to include. I am very happy with their work and they were very polite and courteous throughout. I'm so happy to have found them for my future landscaping needs and will be definitely telling all of my friends and sharing pictures of my beautifully planted beds! He went to inspect the plants, explained to the resident what he recommends then made his recommendation to me. He returned at a later date for the install. Mark helped provide great customer service and for that we are so appreciative.

Yard looks great! I've gotten a lot of compliments from my neighbors. I had let my yard get overgrown so it needed a lot of help. Mark and his team spent a lot of time cleaning up my yard before they could even start planting. I met with Mark ahead of time to discuss what I had in mind but I mostly just gave a general idea and Mark suggested plants. Since I don't know what the names are of most plants, I had to keep google-ing them to look them up but Mark was patient with that! I also had lights installed by Jesse (one of Mark's helpers) to shine on the new palm trees and pencil hollys at night...they look awesome! Jesse also installed a new sprinkler timer for me since my 20+ year old one was well overdue to be replaced and he replaced some sprinklers, moved some and fixed others, etc. The light work and sprinkler fees aren't included in the price above...it was about another $1,500 total for all Jesse's work (I got a quote before they started the additional work).

Highest price of the three Angie's list landscape services that I called. Had issues with weeds coming through that was quickly taken care of, later had issues with plants withering and browning after being in ground for 2 months. Company came out to house several times and every time said that they needed more water, which I provided. After telling Mark that I would like him to replace the plants instead of nursing them back to health he called me on Memorial day raised his voice and used profanity. Two days after his phone call he replaced some of the plants.

Mr. Higgins and the men who worked for him were totally accommodating. my experience with them was excellent. I have already arranged with them to repair and renew a pond.

It went beautifully! He was always on time. He worked within the budget that I gave him. He and his men cleaned up beautifully and I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a great landscape designer and installer

When Mark started working in our yard, were we very happy. He and his employees did a great job, and we planned a couple more things, such as redoing our back yard and later also the front yard. After, already two weeks, working for us, did he ask us for a review on Angie's list. You can see, we were very satisfied at this time. Unfortunately for our yard, after 9 month did he start a couple big projects, they needed all he's time and he forgot about it, our yard. Since we are only every other month home for a few days, didn't we realize in time, that it's getting worse with our yard and we got calls from neighbors, that it's looking real bad. We talked to him and tried to motivate him, to continue the great work he and his employees did before. We asked for an offer to the one big corner in our back yard, to make a addition to our barbecue area, but we didn't get one after 3 month. For the wintertime, did he offer us to do a weekly service, to get rid of the weed problem, that was only occur, because of the lack on doing the job. But he didn't. It came better with the weed in our front and back yard, and did look nicer but it's still not fixed. Then did we see on facebook that he is calling us (the mowing/maintenance accounts) "id..., they want everything for nothing.", that it was too much. He ended his job in February, after 1 1/2 years.

They responded to all calls and emails quickly, they were very knowledgeable about the work, they were prompt and performed the work quickly and efficiently. They followed up after the work to see how things were growing and gave advice on how to continue to treat the plants and weeds

I contacted this company on 3/12/2013, via email from Angie's List, and received no response. FYI: there were no problems with the email, etc. as I have receive responses from other companies using this contact method.

He is an outstanding landscape designer. He completely redid our lawn front and back. It was hard work and in the middle of summer and they didn't say a thing. They came out and did their job. The quality of work was outstanding.

Mark answered my call promptly and explained how he would accomplish our goal of removing 20-year-old bushes before painting our house. The bushes were removed and I asked Mark if he could give me ideas for the design of our total yard. We walked the entire property and Mark made suggestions for plantings that were appropriate and unique. Mark checked four different nurseries for just the right tree for the side yard. Now that all the work is finished, we are very happy with our yard. I feel that Mark and Jeremy went the extra mile for us, answered every question we had and made sure we would know how to maintain the yard.

Mark called me right back whenever I left a message, Came out as promised and did a fine job. He brought a helper and they both gave me ideas which were beautiful. My previous "landscaper" had planted things where they were choking out other plants and I wasn't even aware. Mark helped me shop for pottery, moved plants and educated me on caring for my trees & shrubs. I recommend this company and will definitely use them again.

They did an enormous amount of research, including going downtown to the city arborist twice to ensure that they were getting the right tree that would be approved. They went above and beyond to double check everything for us. Mark and Jessie put in the tree, they did a wonderful job, made sure that the stump was ground up and we are very pleased.

I contacted the owner for an estimate. He tried putting me off telling me he was real busy and he would not be able to get with me for at least 2 weeks. I told him I was in no hurry, so he reluctantly agreed and set an appt. At this point I was skeptical, but based upon the reviews, I still wanted to meet him personally and get an estimate. On the day of our appt. he showed up late, and also smelled of alcohol. We went over the landscaping job I wanted, discussing the various plants and design. He told me he would email me a proposal and design within a few days. I never heard from him again. Wow!! I was never rude to him once. I find his response insulting and just plain not true. If you were to busy and not intersted why didn't you just say so. Fabricating stories to justify your actions is pathetic. I recommend you go somewhere else.
