All work was performed to our expectations. Additionally, since we're new to Florida and not being familiar with the local flora, Mark provided us a list of all existing plantings (both common and botanical names). Mark showed substantial knowledge and training in all aspects of our dealings. He also gave us suggestions for landscape enhancements to be done in the springtime. We'll definitely be giving him a call when the time comes for this work as well.

I needed someone who was imaginative and patient and flexible as well knowledgable. Mark sat down and discussed possibilities. I knew very quickly that he was interested in capturing a match between our style and proclivities and the landscaping scheme. We emailed back and forth, sending pictures and ideas. It took some time but it was well worth it. The price was in line with other bids and sometimes on the high side but it seemed quite fair considering the attention and care given to our particular needs. It just so happened that the beginning of the process coincided with several unexpected financially challenging demands on our part. We thought we might have to scratch the whole thing. Mark helped remedy the situation by breaking the job into doable parts that would be taken care of over time. This gave us financial breathing room and the work began. Mark did a beautiful job and we are having him back in a few months. Some of the plants died by way of too much watering (rain, etc.) and Mark was quick to replace those plants without charging anything extra. I highly recommend this landscaping artist.

Mark did an excellent job -- he was responsive and easy to work with. His prices, while not bargain-basement, are reasonable. There was a little hitch where he had to reschedule due to a problem with his truck, but this only delayed the appointment for a few days. We would hire him again.

LBD and Mark far and away exceeded our expectations - Mark's work was coordinated with a fence being installed by A-1 and a pool install by Landmark (I'd also HIGHLY recommend both of them) and he worked alongside both companies very well...I'm sure you can imagine how challenging the scheduling was, but Mark didn't skip a beat. Believe it or not, the whole process was seamless! He and his team were very prompt, particularly efficient with their time, they were flexible on where to put plants (as my parents had a few changes) and Mark was helpful with plant suggestion...he took the time to sit down with them and discuss what they envisioned their backyard to look like, level of maintenance they wanted to do, etc. and created an amazing space.
We did receive 4 other bids from several St. Pete area landscapers (Tommy Todd being one of them) who all presented similar plans to the one Mark put together. Far and away his was the most reasonably priced for all the work being done. They finished the job ahead of time and on budget, clean up was superb and the attention to detail paid to the job was very high.

I sent an email on Monday morning. Recevied a call later that afternoon and set up an appointment for that eveing. We talked about a couple of options and finally agreed on a cardboard palm, emerald goddess loriope and some orange ixoras. We also had Eucalyptus Mulch laid.
They arrived sometime in the morning (after I had left for work).Everything went as planned except for the removeal of the stones under the palm tree because of ants. However, mulch was laid and the tree was trimmed. (This was not in the estimate - nor were we charged). By the time I got home, they were gone and the front looked great!
My only disappointment is when I went to get the fertilizer that was recommeded, only to find out that all fertilzer is band in Pinellas County.

My interaction with them was great. He came out, and he had two guys with him, one of whom was an irrigation specialist. They spent a lot of time measuring, and they seemed to really know what they were doing. I was happy with their response. I contacted four companies, and I got bids from them and one other company. They are in the running right now for the work, but they were a little higher than the other provider.

The project went very well. Mark was great to work with and very willing to exchange ideas on plants. My wife wanted more color in the yard and Mark went out of his way to find plants that my wife found on a Southern Living Magazine website. We are extremely happy with the results.

The job overall when very well. Mark did very well communicating with me about pricing and we did need to change the price above the original quote due to my needs. Mark never lost his temper or thought that he could not just discuss with me cost changes and he did so BEFORE HE DID THE WORK. (NOTE: I have had many contractors guarantee the quote and charge me more and be very angry about it.) I did discuss with Mark in the beginning that I knew my yard would not be easy and that some things would go wrong and need more work and that I wanted the job done correct and completely and to just talk to me about any of these issues, for I know it is not easy to for see unknown problems.
During my planning with Mark Higgins I wanted Nuggets and not mulch and Mark even called me from Home Depot to be very sure he was installing the correct material. He even offered to bring a bag by my house for me to be sure I wanted to use and be happy with.

Overall, the work was done very professionally and was completed in a very timely fashion. Mark Higgins stands behind his work and we expect to continue to use his services in the future including a total tear down of our backyard landscaping and bringing that whole area back up to a presentable design.

I called him and he came. He said that he would come back the following week with price and got measure things. He thought that he could the job I asked him to do. He never called and never came back. He was thinking of what type of flowers or shrubs to use. He was going to give me some ideas, when he comes back. I told him what I thought I might want. He said he can work that out and show me when he come. He never even bothered to call me back and tell me if he can do it or couldn't do it. He didn't waste my time or anything; but he just kept me waiting. He was on time. He told he will be here by afternoon.

My landscape was in desperate need of weeding, trimming and mulching. Using Angie's list email function, I contacted Mark on a Sunday, with a Monday follow-up planned because I was sure that no business would communicate back to me on a Sunday. Not only did Mark contact me via email, he was able to come out that evening and provide several estimates. Mark completed the work for me while I was out of town and I returned to a very nice front yard. I already have estimates for other projects that i am considering using Mark for in the future.

He knows his flowers; he goes the extra mile, he is trustworthy. I have an interesting backyard where he has to take his equipment through the inside of my house. He is very careful, and does not let the cats out. The backyard looks pretty and outstanding. He always calls before he comes.
