Karoly Windows & Doors

They provided an initial quote based on the measurements we supplied. I was initially concerned because Karoly is located in Tampa, not the Orlando area, but based on the good reviews at Angie's list I decided to give them a try. We received quotes both from Karoly and the Orlando based supplier for Simonton. Both companies came out and measured the windows. They were both knowledgeable and punctual but when we got the quote Karoly was almost $3000 less and quoted a shorter time to deliver and install. It was also nice that the guy who came out to measure and discuss the windows was the company owner and not a salesman. We placed the order with Karoly and they lived up to everything promised. The installation took two days and the installers came and finished on time, doing a beautiful installation. The Simonton Storm Breaker windows are very heavy and 2 of the larger windows were installed in a room with a vaulted ceiling at a second story height. Even so the windows were all installed with no damage to either the interior or exterior. I will use them again for an additional 4 windows we will need sometime next year.

They initially came out and said they couldn't do the job for $1,000. I contacted Angie's List and eventually they did do the door for $1,000. The end product is really great! It went quite well once we resolved the initial problems. We worked out the problems and they did a good job. $1,000 was a great price and I priced it out with other companies. I would definitely do business with them again.

They were so AWESOME - arrived on time and were very respectful of our home. There was one window that was damaged, and they took care of that immediately. I highly recommend them - great job at a great price!

Karoly and team were a pleasure to work with. They are extremely responsive responding to phone calls, emails and any questions immediately and always the same day. They got us on the schedule immediately, the windows arrived in the window promised and were installed on the days we scheduled. We ran into an unexpected wrinkle when we discovered termite damage that had to be repaired before 3 of the windows could be replaced. Karoly kept us on schedule for the remaining windows and came back the day after repairs were completed to finish the job. Karoly was on the job himself for a short time each day (3 days total) to be sure work was satisfactory and progressing well. We had some difficulty communicating with one crew member due to limited English which resulted in them having to go back and correct a few minor details related to the wiring of a disconnected security system but this was done with no questions. There were a few issues with the double door installation (didn't seal properly and sloppy glue job of glass trim pieces by manufacturer) that Karoly corrected when we called attention to them. He called us at the end of each day to see if everything went ok and if we were satisfied with the work. Overall, it was an outstanding experience working with Karoly Windows and Doors. They were professional, polite, and unobtrusive during their three full days at the house. We would definitely recommend them.

I needed new windows and doors for sure. My house had the original metal crank-out windows, many didn't lock, they leaked dirt and did nothing to block heat or noise. I had three companies give me quotes. One was a lower cost but I liked the look of the Karoly proposal better and chose them. Karoly and his crew replaced them with Simonton Energy Star impact windows. The doors had been installed by a handyman who shouldn't be a handyman and needed replacing too. Karoly's people installed fiberglass doors. I live on a busy street and the most immediate change was the reduced noise level in the house; second was the reduction in heat transfer through the window glass; third was elimination of dirt filtered through the windows. This is a win win win! It was a big job. I had 30+ windows originally, but with consolidation into larger surfaces the installation was for just over 20. These include sliders, double hung and picture windows. The end-product is beautiful and functional. His crew was here for four days removing the old and installing the new windows and two doors, dealing with the irregularities old houses bring. They worked through long days professionally and cleaned up each afternoon when they were finished. I have dogs so I was concerned with metal and glass fragments in the yard but there were none. Karoly was here frequently to check on the installation and the progress and came back later to answer questions and I had continuing contact with the office by email. This is a company that delivers what it promises carefully, on-time, and with attention to detail

Good communication (mostly via email) with the office person Yara, who handled all the paperwork issues. Karoly's estimate was significantly less than two other estimates we received, and was the only one of the three where the estimator and installer were one and the same. This was a tough job! The installation was expected to take two days, but despite Simonton's good reputation, 3 of the windows had issues with the hardware, which meant the windows didn't work properly, and this slowed the installers and also required Karoly to make two more trips on subsequent days to make the repairs to those windows and finish the detailing/caulking. He personally met with the Simonton repair guy to learn how to make the repairs, so he wouldn't have delays on future jobs; he did comment that this was a new and recent problem with just one size of Simonton window. The first day of installation, we didn't realize we were to take down our window blinds, but the installers never said a word, just took them down, and even helped us put them back up, as well. The job was done on time and on budget. The crew was friendly but professional, and cleaned up and removed the construction messes. Karoly took care of the permitting, and the windows and installation passed inspection without any problems. The new windows work perfectly and look great! Recommendation: before calling for estimates, call your county permitting office to see if you need impact windows! Pasco Co updated the wind map in 2012; on the new map, we are in the high-impact zone and had no choice but to go with impact windows;

Karoly came to our home, explained what the company did and how they would perform our window installation. He explained so well that we really had few additional questions. He measured our windows and doors and gave us a quote for the Simonton windows and door that we had already decided that we wanted. The quote was his best price and we appreciated that he did not lowball us and come back later with an inflated price. We interviewed two other window companies and neither provided the complete information on the windows, nor did they provide the precise price. Karoly's excellent office manager, Yara, provided the absolute most complete description and price for the windows and door that anyone would need. Yara is extremely efficient and constantly kept in touch with us to make sure that the project was moving along well, as did Karoly. Everything that I asked for was immediately taken care of, and I am a stickler for detail. The job was completed in one day, on the day that it was scheduled. The two gentlemen who did the job were extremely courteous and industrious, finishing the same day and cleaning up very well. Karoly was there at the start of the job, had to leave, and returned the same evening to make sure that the job was completed properly and that we were satisfied. If you need windows or doors, or any other service that they provide, do yourself a favor. Don't waste your time, just call Karoly.

As always, excellent services provided by Karoly. We had out french doors replaced in our family room. Karoly came out right away to complete an estimate. As part time residents, scheduled installation that was convenient for us. Excellent communication and personalized services. Doors were installed professionally and we are very pleased with the quality of the doors and of work provided. We previously used Karoly to replace the windows in our house. We wouldn't use anyone else!

Went great. Karoly was on-site with his workers and they got right to it. A special shout-out to Yara in the office. She's terrific and very helpful.

From start to finish, I would give this company and the owner an "A". Karoly came out and gave the estimate and he does the work. Everything happened the way he said it would with the exception of one thing. Windows were supposed to arrive before Karoly got here. He has another company deliver windows to the site. Someone was on vacation for that company and the sub did not deliver on time and Karoly had to wait and had all of the windows removed. Didn't end up being an issue as they arrived by 1:00 and all windows were installed the same day as promised. With regards to price, Karoly was approximately $1500 less than the other larger company also on Angie's list. I believe the difference is because Karoly doesn't have the overhead the larger companies have (e.g. salesman, showroom, etc.) The only negative was you couldn't actually touch or see the exact windows you were getting except through the manufacturers website.

The professional team and quality work of Karoly Windows is only surpassed by their outstanding customer service. The company owner made follow-up calls to ensure we were satisfied and to inquire if there were any problems or if we had any questions. He said he is always willing to come or send someone out--if we need them because he cares about his customers. Although we live in Central Florida and Karoly Windows is located in Tampa, it is the best choice and we would encourage anyone to select this company.

These guys are the absolute best. I'd hire them to do anything around my house! I've had nightmare roofers in the past where I had to finish sealing my own roof! So, these guys are a breath of fresh air. They will treat you right, so BE SURE to return the favor. This Hungarian superhero trio came in an hour after another guy delivered the windows and they got right to business. It took about 6 hours for them to remove, install, seal, and clean all 14 windows in my 1962 concrete block house. They are nice, honest, friendly, kind, quiet, competent, hardworking and clean! A rare blend these days! They were able to work at this speed in 97 degree FL weather, might I add. It was blazing hot out that day. Karoly makes sure that you check every window with him, inside and out, to make sure you are satisfied. I've had two friends try to suggest using Karoly for windows after I already agreed to have Karoly do the windows. Everyone who hires them loves them! And I can't forget mentioning that Yara is always so nice, positive, and professional in the office too! She sets up the times and the paperwork. I wouldn't waste time calling anyone else. You will be very happy and satisfied with their work. Thanks again you guys! If I do my sliders or front door, I'll be calling you back for more!

he personally did the measurements. i had several bids for the same job and provided the best estimate. it was a very pleasant experience with no problems at all.

Karoly and his assistant did an excellent job installing our French doors and side lites. My bedroom has been transformed. the Fr. doors and side lites look beautiful. This project went smoothly from beginning to end. Yara in the office and Karoly in the field are a dynamic duo. They are on top of everything and if they tell you they are going to do something they get it done. The price was excellent, the work precise and the end result stellar. They will be the only company I would have come and do future work for us and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Everything went very smoothly from the estimate to the finished product. We were not surprised with any additional costs at the end of the job. Karoly communicated with us when the windows arrived and then quickly scheduled installation. It only took two days to install all of the windows. Once the windows were completed, he cleaned up all of the debris. We shopped around and got estimates before going with Karoly. His estimate was less than any of the other estimates. We feel we got a great price considering the number (14) and size of our windows (53x76). Our next project will be installing french doors to replace our sliding glass doors and we will definitely have Karoly install those for us too. Thank you Karoly!

Any contractor can do a good job when everything goes smoothly and easily for them during the renovation and installation. Unfortunately that was not the case on our project since the original builder had installed the plywood sheathing OVER our windows instead of installing the windows after the sheathing was in place. This meant the original windows were virtually impossible to remove. But I give Karoly and his crew credit since they stuck to it, figured out a removal tactic and spent many hours under extremely difficult conditions removing my old windows. It was a nightmare install for them but they never gave up until the job was completed. They deserve a lot of credit since many contractors would of walked away. So that's the mark of a class act to persevere when things DON"T go as expected and stand by your customer. Very rare these days. Both door installations went smoothly. The windows they installed were very energy efficient. My Florida room is now a comfortable living space no matter what the outside weather is. It's very cool and comfortable in this room now when before it was like a toaster oven in there. So as far as the windows go it was a huge success and accomplished 100% what we were trying to achieve. Karoly's prices were better then any of my other quotes so he earns a full recommendation from us.

The project planning was precise, and the installation itself went well -- on schedule and with all the proper materials delivered directly to the site. Afterward, Karoly and his assistant thoroughly cleaned up the areas around the windows. Karoly also demonstrated for me how to open the windows and tilt them in or remove them for cleaning of the outer surface from inside the house, as well as how to remove and replace the screens. He watched as I practiced these maintenance operations to ensure that I'd understood the procedures. He also said that if I wasn't sure of what to do later, I could call him; he often "walks people through the steps" over the phone. That level of customer care is unusual and greatly appreciated. A homeowner can damage an expensive product that was properly installed through improper maintenance.

I initially saw this business on Angies list and decided to go with them based on their reputation. After speaking with him, Karolye matched my lowest estimate from another company. Installed about a week earlier than expected and worked with me on install date/time due to a hectic work schedule. Windows were expensive but per codes they had to be impact windows and the price for impact windows are outrageous. Overall nice guy and so was his crew. Took about 3/4 of the day to install, happy with the windows and door. His office assistant was good as far as communication, mostly done through email and some phone. Would recommend to anyone needig window install.

My wife and I were a little concerned about going with a company out of Tampa, since we live about 2 hours north of Tampa. Our concerns were quickly put to rest after he came over to give us an estimate. He gave us a very good quote on some good Simonton double hung windows. Karoly started the job only 3 weeks after we signed the contract, and arrived at our home at 9:00 a.m. ready to start the job. He and his team were quick, professional and efficient. Karoly was always willing to answer questions and he was very helpful with useful suggestions. They replaced 21 windows in 2 days. They did a pretty good job cleaning up too. We are very pleased with our new windows and would definitely hire Karoly again.

They were very good. I will recommend them. He was interested in getting the job and providing us with the best job to meet our needs. He gave us a lot of information on products. My husband did a lot of research. He gave him his experience regarding the products that we have take down and gave him some guidance in getting the products that we needed. When it came to installing, his crew was great. They were very neat, clean, did a good job, a little bit above and beyond to fit some of the windows and the doors. We were very happy to put the bond and results too. They get us the best price.

From working with Yara in selecting the door to Karoly coming out to install the door the experience was phenomal. We contacted Karoly's because of their reviews on Angie's List. We never do "snap" purchases and both Yara and Karoly patiently answered any and all questions. The service was punctual and all phone calls were returned promptly. We are planning on replacing our windows and remaining doors and will definetly use this company for that work.

I did have to pay extra, because I have a larger sliding glass door than the standard. They mentioned the additional price when they first came out so that there were no surprises. This company was very convincing on the warranty of the materials. He also put in a screen door for me too. He mentioned if I ever had any issues they would come back and help me with the door. They did a good neat job with the installation and you could not tell that someone had been there.

They showed up when they said they would (2 days). The owner of the company worked on the sliders and door while the assistant worked on the windows. They were both very professional and hard workers. They used Simonton Storm Breaker Plus windows, which are supposed to be stronger than the other major brand, plus they are better with hassle free replacement if there are ever any problems in the future. We shopped this a LOT with the top rated companies from Angie's List and we felt that this company gave us the best product, best price, and a good feel for their sincerity and honesty. The owner is trying to grow his business through the items I just mentioned. We had a couple of minor problems which were taken care of promptly with no push back or argument. The office staff was also very cooperative, available and friendly. I do not hesitate to recommend this company if you need this type of work.
