Description of Work: As a matter of background, I had planned to purchase a beautiful lot on a beautiful street in Lutz, Florida, however there was a Progress Energy high voltage transmission line adjacent to the property. Because of the high voltage transmission lines, I had health concerns regarding the effects of electromagnetic fields (EMF). I decided to investigate the dangers, whether real or imagined, of EMF by contacting a highly respected home inspector who had previously done exceptional work for me in the past. The home inspector advised that EMF testing is highly specialized and he recommended I contact a specialist in the field, a Will Spates from Indoor Environmental Technologies, Inc. (IET), I immediately contacted Mr. Spates and explained my concerns. I found Mr. Spates highly knowledgeable, just like the home inspector stated. Mr. Spates graciously took the time and provided a wealth of information along with links to several documented studies conducted throughout the world. Based on Mr. Spates' conversation and documentation provided, I was able to make an informed decision - I decided not to purchase the property because of health concerns. But what surprised me is the fact that that Mr. Spates did not attempt to sell me on a service. He not only was willing to take the time to provide the information over the phone and via e-mail, but provided the information at a cost of: ZERO. I believe Mr. Spates' actions speak louder than words as well as his trustworthiness. What more can I say? Based upon my highly respected home inspector's recommendation and my experience with Mr. Spates, I plan on contacting IET for any future home inspection. And, without a doubt, I highly recommend contacting this company for any type of home inspection needed.
