Happy's Tree Service, LLC

Based on a referral from a friend, I employed Happy's Tree Service for our tree removal/trimming project and couldn't be more pleased with the result. From set-up to clean-up, Steve and his crew safely and expeditiously removed 4 Chinese elms, ground all the stumps, plus one additional one, and trimmed 2 large maples and one sweet gum. I highly recommend Happy's!

Steve, the owner, knows his trees but his ego is over the top. Came 20 minutes early for our appointment, which was the start of a 20 minute VERY LATE lunch window. We asked him politely to do a walk through the property and look over the trees while we finished and we’d join him in just 10 minutes. Mind you, this would have still had us meeting 10 minutes BEFORE our appointment time. He just snuck off without a word and left! Excuse us for not allowing a perfect stranger to intimidate us out of our lunch. I have a health condition that dictates I eat on time, but I shouldn’t have to explain that. Called the office and left a message with no response. So if you want to deal with an attitude, this is the company for you. Why spend all the money to advertise your company if you’re just going to throw away business? Big yard, lots of trees. His loss.

Steve listened to what we needed, gave us a reasonable estimate and offered to trim our mature Laurel oak trees of dead wood as well. The crew arrived early and got to work immediately. They were efficient, safety conscious and cleaned up everything after the job was complete. After trimming limbs hanging over the house, they swept off the porch roof and house of all the debris. We were very pleased with the overall project and would highly recommend Happy's Tree Service to anyone who needs a professional.

Happy's did a great job removing two large trees from my front and back yards. The crew arrived early, worked swiftly and cleaned up nicely afterwards. I received several quotes beforehand and Happy's offered the best price for a reputable and properly insured tree service. I would absolutely use them again and recommend them to anyone looking for quality tree work around Pinellas County.

I called for palm trimming, but never received a response. I guess, they did not need the business.

We have used Happy's Tree Service for several years. Usually for regular maintenance of the trees on our property and once for after hurricane clean-up. The most recent time was for the removal of an older tree that was dying. Steve had told us over the years to watch this tree as he saw signs that it was dying. We called Steve out and he advised it's removal was now needed to prevent damage to our house and limbs falling on power lines. He scheduled a quick turn around on this and took care of working with the local government for the proper permits. As he was taking it down it was quite evident that the tree was not healthy and had to go. The price was very reasonable. Staff is courteous and capable, the well maintained equipment was state of the art and their procedures were efficient with a big focus on safe working practices. I will be using them again and have no reservation it recommending them to anyone.

Rather pleased and impressed. Wanted an experienced and certified aborist to properly examine and prune large oak tree. Expected two guys with chain saws in pick up pulling long trailer. Instead Happy Tree Service showed up with small armada of three large trucks, crew of six or so, and assortment of self-propelled machines, including high lift bucket.. An experienced and coordinated crew immediately began work, accompanied with casual tutorial about live oak trees. All much appreciated. End result was a much needed transformation of oak tree. Even more, crew took the extra time to rake and remove all debris. And all for remarkably reasonable price of $350. Had to mention that if tree and I are both upright in 6-8 years, then we will certainly do this again.

Lucien and his crew did a fantastic job on our yard. After they left, the yard was cleaner than when they arrived! The overall quality of work looked really good.

On 4/1 our huge Laurel Oak split where three/four huge branches fell leaving a large portion of the tree standing which was compromised and a danger to our home. I called Happy's Tree Service because of their reviews on Google and Angie's List. Within the hour Steve Goodell was at our house. He was friendly, honest and put us at ease considering we were in a very stressful situation. The next day he and his crew were out to our house. They own their own crane which is not common for our area. They worked non-stop and removed the entire tree without any further damage. His crew worked diligently and meticulously to make sure that everything was completed timely and without a hitch. We had another company come out prior to Steve who was no way near as professional nor had as much integrity as Steve. Seriously, if you need tree service, you need to go with Happy's Tree Service. You will NOT be disappointed.

They showed up right on time with way more equipment than was actually needed, so there was no "Well, we'll be right back with the gadget we don't have." They worked in team style and were quick, efficient, and did a terrific job. They cleaned up nicely. Would I hire them again. You bet! I strongly recommend Happy's Tree Service.

Happy's was excellent. They were on time, very professional, and they cleaned up. This was a very large tree near a light pole. They removed it and ground the stump in one day.

Today (11/7/2018) I hired an outstanding tree service “Happy’s Tree Service”. Steven Goodell (Certified Arborist) and owner brought his crew to remove and grind the stumps of two very large **** trees (Melaleuca) at least 60+ft tall. They also trimmed my large oak tree that was hanging over my house. The crew worked quickly never missing a beat and cleaned up as they went along. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND their services. The estimate was reasonable, and I WILL be asking them back in the future to remove more trees. You can’t go wrong with “Happy’s Tree Service”- 727-365-1803. Thank you Happ & crew!

Got 8 estimates after Hurricane Irma for my oak the had been blown over to the point of pushing my pool cage over. Estimates ranged from $2000. to $8700. (El Cheapo). Was told by 6 of 8 estimates that it was a "crane job", meaning that I had to hire a crane to lift the tree over my roof to the front yard, as they could not get equipment down either side of my house to do the job. Wendy and Steve got all the permits, hired the crane and provided the insurance from the crane operator and from Happy's to assure I had no worries. Of course, I was worried that a 900 pound piece of tree would get dropped through my roof into my living room, but no, nothing like that happened and the job was completed and cleaned up in less than 3 hours. They are prompt, honest, stick-to-their-word, insured, dependable, clean, did I say honest? business/family/neighborly people. I would recommend them till the end of time.

This company did not show up to my home 2 days in a row after I took time off from work to be at my home. DO NOT USE!!!

Wendy promptly returned my call, got all the information about my concern and arranged the time for an inspection. Steve arrived as arranged, actually a little early. I told Steve I thought the limb needed to be removed due to an area of decayed wood. After he inspected the limb he recommended that I just leave it alone. He reassured me that despite the area of decay, the limb was in no danger of breaking. I respect Steve's honesty and professionalism. He could have told me the limb had to be removed just to get the job. I will definitely call Happy's the next time I need tree service.

After the impacts of Hurricane Irma in 2017, our condominium association board decided to trim or remove several trees on the association property. We had one large Java Plum tree that had dropped several large branches last year and several folks told us that the tree was unsound and would likely see further damage in the event of another hurricane type event. On that advice, the Board solicited several bids to have the tree removed and the stump ground to grade level. The Board initially voted to accept the bid of another very highly rated provider from Angie's List. After two months it became apparent that the provider the Board had voted to accept had either seriously underbid the project, or lacked the equipment and personnel to complete the job. At that point the Board went back to the list of previous bidders and elected to call Happy's Tree Service based on their bid, which had been very professionally presented. Happy's got our project on their schedule within a week. On Monday, June 18th, Happy's Tree Service showed up at 8:00 am as promised and within three hours had completely removed the large Java Plum tree and ground the stump out below grade level. Steve and his crew were extremely professional and very safety oriented in every aspect of the operation. They have top-notch equipment and it's obvious that they keep it in outstanding working order. The property clean-up was exceptional in every regard. Happy's Tree Service has made us Very Happy, and we will certainly call them again for future projects within our community.

They were prompt in returning phone calls and were out the same day to provide an estimate. We called to schedule the job and they were able to put us on their schedule the next day. They were here early and immediately started work. Once they were done, they cleaned up and provided some guidance on what needed to be done with the area where the tree had been removed.

Happy's Tree Service did a great job! It was a large project that included removing 12 palms, a pine tree, a mango tree and a couple of other trees as well as pruning an oak tree and the remaining palms. The owner is an arborist and was very professional and easy to work with. Within a day they had all of the trees removed and the remaining trees cleaned up. It was a beautiful job! They are by far the best tree service I have hired and would definitely recommend them to others.
