+ -1 moreHandyman Roofing was Awesome from beginning to end. Derek came out right away to give an estimate and thoroughly explained everything and answered all my questions. Very professional. Removal and install crews were on time, respectful of property and homeowner. Supervisor Westley was by each day to follow-up on crew and to see if I had any questions. Joe was also very professional, explaining and answering any questions that I had. The lady who answers the phone was also very pleasant to work with .Overall Handyman is a company that appreciates their people and it shows in the work they do. This day and age it is hard to find a company so committed to their staff and their customers. Handyman was truly good company to have do the jobs I needed done ! Good price and work was completed in the timely and professional manner as promised.

+ -1 moreI reached out to this company through their website for a roof leak repair. A couple of days later (yesterday), I received a call from Rich (“richard A” from his email). Told me they couldn’t get out until the following day (today), which is fine. He asked what window of time I prefer, 9-12 or 1-4. I selected the latter and specifically asked for someone to call when they’re on their way. I planned my day around this. Being a busy parent and with a full- time job, I trust that a professional company would follow through with their commitment. I’m sure you see where this is going. No one showed up. No one called. When I emailed Rich, no response. Not even a lame excuse. Anyway, given the volume of roofers in the business, I feel it’s important to relay to other possible customers to not waste your time with a company who doesn’t have the company to follow through with their commitment. I wish I could offer a grade other than a D; but if you don’t show up to the exam, you flunk. The only reason I didn’t give an F was because Rich sent me their insurance certificates as requested. That’s why I was shocked at how this ultimately transpired. I say if it’s between this or another company, go with the other.

Very simple on my part, meet Jim for estimate, scheduled date to complete work. Arrived on time, worked straight though, cleaned up and hauled away roof debris, very neat, not a thing left for me to do except to have comfort in knowing my roof is repaired and I hired a great company to do the work. Thank you!

+ -1 moreThey replaced 13 roof tiles, 7 of them I supplied. It took 2 men about two hours. Charged me $775.00. I had a $100. coupon and I did receive my permit fee back. ( said they did need one ) The price is a little high for the work that they did.

Westley kept me updated on the project as it was a rental home and I wasn't there. From the estimate to the final inspection everything went very smoothly. I would hire them again in a heart beat. When the repair was completed they went the extra mile by having a couple of their staff come by on separate occasions to ensure that the work was performed properly. Staff were always courteous and helpful. One person straightened out a loose soffit we had without us even asking him to do it. The company even sent us a thank-you card for our business. I've never seen such exceptional customer service from a contractor.

+ -1 moreI contacted HHRS about replacing the soffit on my house. An employee came to my house, measured the roof line and told me the cost would be $1450. I told him, "Let's do it". He went to his truck to fill out a written estimate, and when he returned he told me he had some bad news. The price he quoted was the cost if I had the roof replaced. The price for only the soffit was $3600. An increase of 150%. I feel that the company pulled a 'bait and switch' on me.

+ -1 moreAs they were putting on my new roof, they discovered rotted wood and other places that had been severely damaged from the leaks in the roof. They took pictures to show me the damage, gave me a reasonable estimate to do the work, and completed the repairs along with putting on the new roof. There were a couple of days they did not show up for work or call because one of the supervisors had been injured. Other than that little problem, they always arrived on time, were very professional, and cleaned up at the end of each day. The clean up was particularly important to me because I had a puppy and I did not want her to find nails or other debris in the yard. They have put on complete new roofs for at least 4 or 5 houses in a radius of a couple blocks and I believe everyone has been very happy with their work and their price. One roofer, Arrys, would not even come to my house to give me an estimate for 6 weeks! Handyman came out very soon after I called them.
Description of Work: Tore off my old tile roof and put on a new tile roof.

+ 0 moreIt went great! A big thank you to Kevin and everyone at Handyman We had been seeking quotes for shingles but our salesperson Greg suggested we take another look at tile. The price they offered and the color/style choices made this an easy decision. Greg really knows roofing. Everyone involved was very professional and did a great job keeping us informed of the progress. Kyle was our supervisor and we could not have asked for a better person to work with. He even came back every evening to check on the work and double check for nails in the yard. Johnny supervised the tile work and patiently answered all of our questions. You could tell he absolutely knew what he was doing and took a lot of pride in his work. Once the roof was done, we submitted the wind mitigation forms to our insurance and our rate dropped in half. I had to do a project in the attic last weekend and the attic was much cooler with the tile roof. We think the roof should last twice as long as the a shingle roof so we think it was a smart decision. And I have to say, it looks beautiful. It was great to deal with a professional company.
Description of Work: We replaced a shingle roof (originally tile) with another tile roof. We also replaced 2 skylights and had the flat roof replaced.

+ -1 moreHandyman Roofing I called Handyman Roofing, and told them that I needed someone to come out and I said to them "very clearly", "prepared" to do the work, because I am going away. The man came out only to give an estimate and was no way prepared to do the repair. He told me that he could do it differently with out a guarantee, that he might be able to call somebody to come over and do it. I said "no thank you", then he said that they will get to it probably within the next seven days so it will be done by the time I got back. I got back and it wasn't done nor was it done three weeks after that. So I called them and wanted to cancel the contract, the person that does the scheduling yelled at me, telling me who did I think I was, that I am not allowed to cancel and that they would take me to court. In my contract it says if I canceled I would be responsible for 1/3 of the price, and I had no problem with that. They didn't come back out or reschedule they just got nastier and nastier and said we will see about this. They were also way over priced. The service never occurred, just abrasiveness, nastiness, tiring to get money from me for a job that never occurred. I would never recommend anyone to use them.

+ -1 moreThey have invested no time, money, equipment or material. His manner of customer service is what tweaked me the most. You don?t talk to someone like he talked to me. I let him know if he steps foot on my property I will call the cops and if any of his workers are on my roof I will call the cops. To this date, this is where I stand with them.
Description of Work: I had a leak along my 50 foot ridge cap and it needed to be resealed. I called them on the 14th and let them know I was going out of town and needed the repair done before then. They told me this would be fine and the guy would come prepared to make the repair. He showed up and said he was only there to give me an estimate and that he didn’t know anything about a repair. He said he would have someone out by the 16th or 17th at the latest to make this repair. Although this was not what I had hoped to hear I said ok. I came home on the 18th thinking this had already been taken care of. I had even offered to pay part of the money, but they said no. They did have me sign a contract for the amount of $575.00. Wednesday night, the 18th there was a horrible storm and sure enough when I got up the next morning there was water leaking in. I called them and asked them to come back out to take a look. The receptionist put Joe on the phone and he said if you’re mad, call the man who repaired it not me. He yelled at me to talk to the other man, not him. He told me my job wasn’t even scheduled until next week. I called the estimator who said he didn’t know what happened and that he would straighten it out. I called on the 23rd and left a message with Lynn. On the 30th I spoke with Sharon or Sherry and she said she would transfer me to Joe. He started right in with yelling at me so I told him I was just going to cancel this contract. He threatened me with further action for cancelling my contract with him. I told him there was nothing else to say and that he was not to come to my property. I got a bill from them that was sent out September 7th, but dated August 18th for the full amount of $575.00 and the invoice doesn’t say what it is for.

+ -1 moreTerrible. We had a leak within one month after installation. Averaged 1.5 leaks per year after installation after 11 years. The company did give us a 10 year warranty. However, after the 5th or 6th leak, a person by the name of Joe, started making me out as the villian. Service began to lag, time to repair was dragged on, and the quality of workmanship was poor. I have since had to have 40% of the roof replaced and we are still occuring leaks. We have over $8,000 in repairs because of the poor workmanship of Handyman roofing. Do not call Handyman for any roofing needs.

+ -1 moreThey came out and repaired the ventilation and crown on our roof. He was very quick and got the work done in a day. He had to build a crown on top of the roof for the ventilation to work. The redesign helps us get good ventilation out of the attic.
