We notified the contractor that we were experiencing a/c problems - this contractor installed a new compressor in our HVAC in December for $1470.00, we called them back in May and told them we were having problems again. They charged a trip fee and said they would return the next day to install new duct work, which they indicated was the problem. Their tech arrived late in the day to do the duct work and finished about 9:30 p.m. that night. We continued to have problems with the unit - calls made to the company went unanswered. Finally, after 3 messages, on the 4th try the owner answered and after a brief conversation told me that because the worker was stung by a wasp when working under our home that our place was 'dangerous', and because we were SO far away to go and find someone else. I asked him what about the warranty on the compressor - he said if the compressor was the problem he'd come back. I called another a/c contractor. They came out & inspected - they changed the in-line drier - they said that the company (Green Mountain Air) did not replace this when the replaced the compressor. A few days later the compressor failed. I called the company (GMA) and they did not return my call. I am disappointed that we ever called this company. They were an ANGIES LIST recommend. I would hate to have someone else be ripped off by this contractor. The DO NOT care if you are sitting in a hot home with a/c that doesn't work. I have a disabled husband (Parkinsons, heart condition) and an infant granddaughter living in the home. Buyer beware with this one. ANGIES LIST should remove him as an 'A' trade partner - he is far from it. Unethical and does not comply by his own warranties. Absolutely no integrity at all. They only want to be on the side of collecting the money. I am also angry with myself that I recommended them several months ago to a woman I work with - they went to her home and charged her $282 for service - told her all was well. A few days later her a/c failed again also. She called them back out and they charged her also for a service call ($60.00) and told her everything was fine. It also was not - she had to call someone else who correctly identified and corrected the problem. On another note - this contractor sends his techs out late in the day so they are working by the headlights of their vehicle or by flashlight.
Description of Work: Replaced compressor in December 2015, returned in May 2016 and said our duct work needed to be replaced after the tech did a 5 minute check of the system (he never did anything else but see a tear in the duct). Actual problem was the compressor was failing again.

They were prompt. Their prices were more reasonable than anybody else that I contacted. They explained everything to me. They told me how to check and see if the person was licensed. Even though they have a number, it does not mean they are really licensed. You need to check it and so forth. They were very good. They were very informative on what to look for people who come to work on something and how to check to make sure that they are really who they said they were and have their insurance.
Description of Work: I have used Green Mountain Air. They installed my new air conditioning.
