+ -1 moreTerrible. I wasn't home, but when I returned, I asked Richard if he called Dennis & he said: "Yes, but I'll never talk to him again. He was condescending & I don't know how you did it (meaning how I dealt with Dennis). "He talked as if I was bothering him with menial details." In the end, Dennis never did help Richard, don't know how the conversation ended. Richard isn't much for details... Anyway, (sigh) I, personally, will NEVER call Dennis again or recommend him to anyone. Period. I told Richard, yeah, he can go either way, either he's very good or he's condescending. Unfortunately, Richard got him when he was in a condescending mood. BTW, Richard figured it out on his own. So that's the GOOD news!
Description of Work: Husband Richard couldn't tell on our Dell tower which was drive M & which was drive N. I suggested he call Dennis since he took care of our computer in Aug. 2007.

Description of Work: Our computer was running extremely slow. He removed a security patch and uninstall files and old system restore files. Installed crap cleaner (literally called crap cleaner) and removed 431 megabytes of unnecessary files. Installled easy registry cleaner and removed 128 invalid registry entries. Uninstalled any programs from ad-remove module. Could not remove Richards profile or uninstall AOL 9 Internet security modules. It just locked up on him. Error windows indicated corrupt system files. He took the tower to the lab and scanned it for viruses and spyware, removed one spyware and virus program. He backed up data files and reconfigured the hard drive and did a clean reinstallation of Window XP Home sp1. He installed sp2 activated windows and installed all security patches to date. He created optional boot up menu. Shut down now button on quick launch. He created the utilities and housekeeping folders on the desktop.
