Today the movers were scheduled to arrive at around 11am. We got a call in the morning that one of their guys had been in an accident and would be late. No problem we said that was fine. They got here at 1 and then said that we did not provide them a walkway to move stuff so they couldn't do it. We moved ourselves everything in the open area from the stairs to the door into the driveway with no help so that they would have "access". MJ then told us that we had too much stuff - not true because we moved it all before with the same size truck and we told them that anything that wouldn't fit we would move ourselves. End of story they said they were not going to move us. I begged them to take just our big furniture. They said no. Because we have to be out of our apartment that put us in an EXTREMELY BAD spot. my opinion is that Samantha was extremely rude, disrepectful, not understanding and CLEARLY had no customer service. They had moved us before and we had not had any major issues. They were not great but they were ok. The price was good and that was why we decided to go with them again. I did get upset with them... and understandably so!!! I did tell her I will be in touch with my attorney... which I will. You get what you pay for. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! We think the reason they decided not to do the move was because they didn't want to work late. They kept telling me before we scheduled that they didn't want to work late. MJ moved our furniture before. He knows some of it is heavy rh furniture. We are completely floored that a company would sign a contract to perform a service such as this and then BAIL! Unethical, unprofessional. Use at your own peril. I can't in my opinion say enough bad things about them. Can you imagine as a customer what I am going through now trying to figure out how I am going to move this furniture myself today to my new residence? Good luck with the Karma you just created for yourselves 3 guys moving. in my opinion you are the worst.

WRITTEN ALL OVER THIS COMPANY Mike, I spoke with Roger briefly this morning regarding your requirements. Here is our final offer. The pickup or load date should be 9/6 and 9/7 or 9/7 and 9/8. What it means is that if you decide to load me on the 9/7 then your guys must come in on 9/6 to pack and if you decide to load me on 9/8 then your guys must be here on 9/7 to pack. No exceptions. They can not pack the day of the move. Answer – THIS IS TOTAL ACCEPTIBLE TO ME ...NO PROBLEM 2. This is a binding estimate so my price does not change no matter the circumstances such as weight is higher or lower. Description of Work: Bait and Switch on Binding Contracted Price provided in writing with Sales person Richard Cox's signature Richard Cox who is a relocation specialist for O'lakers moving and storage also known as 3 guys moving also an agent of Stevens Worldwide Van lines came to my home and did a visual inventory evaluation and provided an estimate in writing with his signature. He amended that binding estimate and lowered the price because I was going to use the competition. One week later, he came back to my home and try to con me into signing a new binding agreement with his signature that reflected a 5 day delivery window from the 3 day delivery window that he had originally quoted on 2 separate estimates with his signature. Upon asking him for the clarification of this delivery window, he said that it was Steven's guidelines and he has noting to do with it. Did not even take any ownership on making a mistake. Then he went on to say by the way if you want me to change your delivery window from 5 days to 4 days which was quoted by him with his signature and in writing for 3 days to begin with, I want you to pay 365.00 more and if you want me to change the window back to what I originally quoted you in writing with my signature and having it binding, you will pay 996.00 wanting to uncharge me and agree to a higher price so he can make more commission and money. I reached out to VP of sales and marketing for Steven's worldwide van lines as well as sent emails to executives at Steven's but only person I heard back from Steven's was Roger Wise and he asked me to forward all of this in writing by Richard Cox and promised me that he would get back to me. Guess what, no follow up from him. He clearly saw the delivery window that was promised but would not stand by his company's reputation. Did not hear from any executives at Steven's van lines. Contacted the owners of O'lakers and 3 guys moving name Mark and Samantha O'lakers and all I got was a call from GM name Jeff who was the most unhelpful person you ever want to meet. He basically said its a 5 day window take it or leave it. I have a 3 year old. We have plane tickets, hotel reservations, elevator reserved for the building that stuff is being delivered to and now I am told that it does not matter because your stuff won't get there as we promised you. Richard Cox calls me today and starts yelling at me because he wanted me to agree to his proposal of 5 day window otherwise he is walking and withdrawing his bid and leaving to go to Panama tomorrow. Forcing me to make a desperate decision on the spot and then he goes on to insult me further because I do not agree to his wishes. My request to them was very simple and that is to stick to what they promised me in writing and if they wanted to change anything, dont make me pay for your mistake and steal my 1000.00. The owners never responded or called that goes to show how much they care. Richard Cox sent me an email saying that he withdrew his bid and good luck finding another company leaving me and my family stranded as we dont have a mover while I have plane tickets and hotel reservations but Richard Cox, his owners, his GM or Steven's Worldwide Van lines VP of Sales and Marketing does not care because if they dont fill their pocket with extra money, they could care less if your family is taking care of or they are on the side of the street. What a business ethic and value. Not sure how they survive in business by doing this to customers. I am sure I am not the only one. Moving is one of the most stressful things you do in life and for them to kick our family to curb is not a decent thing to do. The reason why this industry has this reputation is because government entities do not take enough action to shut these scums down from ripping or and hurting people and their families. I will report this DOT, AMSA, FMSCA and all the possible people I can but nothing will change unless regulations are more tightened toward this people and there are consequence for people like this to possibly face criminal and civil charges including loosing their license. Thx

The storage facility I had been using for many years went out of business and 3 Guys Moving took over. Subsequently, my items were moved to another facility they owned. I was told that they inspected everything appropriately after the move to ensure that nothing was damaged.This inspection also included checking the wooden storage crate (or vault as they call it) for damage. A couple of months after the move, I went by the facility with the intention of taking my furniture out. When they initially opened the door, I noticed the furniture at the front of the crate had been damaged by water. I notified staff, who then notified the office manager and office supervisor. They took a quick look around the vault and we decided that because I had to get moving to multiple appointments that day, that I would come back in a few days to resolve the issue. We made a specific appointment for me to meet that Saturday with the warehouse manager. When I came back the second time, the company had arranged for the warehouse manager to unseal the vault completely and inspect all items, not just the ones in front. All of the furniture had been damaged with the exception of the mattress springs on the bed frame I have. The wood for my antique roll over desk and antique headboard and foot board were water damaged and warped, as well as all of the other, more modern furniture I had stored there. We discussed the issue for a bit and I was told by the office manager that they would call me back in a couple of business days. I was assured they had insurance, but was never told quoted a reimbursement figure and was never provided with any other information about who the insurance company was. I never received a callback either, so I called them and they told me they hadn't had a chance to get together yet and discuss it and that they would call me back. I waited a couple of days--no call--so I called again and was given the same story. This happened a couple more times, and I eventually gave up trying to contact them to move forward. I trusted that--as good business people--they would have followed up with me, considering the amount of damage that had occurred and the fact that I was a long term, loyal customer. That is unfortunately and certainly NOT the case. I would advise others think twice before using this company if you value what you are needing to store.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They scheduled this move for 3.5 hours. It took 9 hours! Had to call the owner several times during the job to complain about how slow these two incompetent morons were. Also let him know that one of his workers might have a drug problem! Now we're saddled with an unfulfilled claim for damages with their insurance provider, MOVINGCLAIMS.NET. Owner Jeff said he'd look into it. Never called back. These guys are LOSERS! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
Description of Work: Sent two young amateurs out who were totally unprepared to complete our move. Arrived late. No uniforms. I'm sure one of them was severely hung over. We found this same kid digging through our medicines later when we caught him red handed.

Awlful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! complained the boxes were not taped. Came a hour late each day. Were there a hour and told me that they could not finish the job and needed to come back the next day. That there would be additional costs. What could I do I had to move. They set off my husband's fireworks, they put liquor in my friend's car without my permission. They must have gone through the liquor because one of them commented on a particular bottle. they did not wrap any of the items. They through items together, damaged my things...pottery, bed frame, wall and door of my new house etc, only set up my bed. I am unable to locate cables for TVs and other equipment. Hit me in the head with a chair. Left a mess around both houses. I treated them to lunch each day. I bought them water and Gatorade. They left their bottles on my wooden furniture which left marks. The second day it was like dump and run. When I called the company to complain have been getting the run around. Originally, Richard Cox quoted me $2,000 and I had to pay $4050.00
Description of Work: Complained that the boxes were not taped. (no one said anything to me) came late, being there a hour came and said that they could not finish the job that day and needed to come back and there would be additional costs. What could I do...I needed to move. did not wrap things, lit my husband's fireworks off, put liquor with out my permission in my friend's truck, did not take everything, hit me with a chair in the head, put a special piece of pottery in a mop bucket (unwrapped) and then put the mop in the bucket. They damaged my king size bed frame. They broke the cap . Left a mess in both houses after I had treated them to lunch. Bought them water and Gatorade that they left on my wooden tables leaving a mark. Opened up boxes that were marked liquor and pulled them out and remarked on it. Damaged door and wall inside my new home. The only thing they set up for me was my bed. I can not find cables for my TVs and other equipment. Spoke in front of me how crazy his supervisor was and was giving information on a new hire. Obviously he was not bonded. I had 3 Guys Moving come out prior. His name was Richard Cox. He gave me a quote of $2000. The ending bill was $4045.00. When I have contacted them they have given me the run around.

I called to get an estimate. Hourly rates are in the mid range of most movers I checked out, but this company wanted to charge me $115 travel time. I explained that I am exactly 1 mile down the street from their address and only moving 7 miles away and that the $115 fee was excessive to travel one mile to me and 6 miles back. I was told they had been charging this fee for 26 years whether they are traveling one mile away or to another county (Clearwater). She told me I was welcome to pick someone cheaper, but I would get what I pay for. Sorry, don't think paying an extra $115 is going to get me any better moving services than not paying it to a company who isn't trying to rip me off. Decided not to hire.

Description of Work: Moved 2 BR apartment into 3 BR house - Pinellas to Hillsborough county | |My original scheduled appointment was cancelled by 3 Guys without notice - I only found this out when I called to confirm - phone agent made an excuse saying I failed to "reconfirm" with them through Angie's List - I made certain our time slot was reserved move than a week in advance, however. We had to delay our move by one day. | |Movers made excuses as to why they didn't want to move some items. Movers didn't want to move a simple small (3ft) tree because they were worried they would damage it. - isn't this a normal request? | |Large bookshelf was too big for the two movers that showed up so I had to help them. They made me sign a waiver saying that any damage they caused to the bookshelf was not their responsibility. That was very odd and showed no ownership in the quality of their labor, I signed it because I didn't want a debate - they were not prepared but we had to get it done. | |It took a very long time for them to finish packing the truck. One mover mentioned at least 3 times how hopefully their pace would not affect their "tip". The other mover apologized for his multiple comments regarding their potential tip. | |One mover left apparently to be replaced by a different mover. I was hoping they called in reinforcements because they were behind schedule - that wasn't the case | |They drove below the speed limit the entire trip on the interstate - not sure why they weren't able to safely operate their truck at a normal speed - this caused further delay. | |Movers arrived exhausted and behind schedule at the destination to unload. Here is where damage was caused to my bookshelf when they dragged it 5 feet across a cement floor on the exterior painted side panel instead of the unfinished bottom of the bookshelf. Dragging on the bottom is perfectly fine - not the finished wood panels that are visible during use. | |Mover made multiple gripes/excuses about moving certain pieces into the desired location - they wanted to dump it all off instead of placing it into one of 3 general and accessible reasonable locations. | |I would not recommend them to anyone. Very expensive, slow, and caused damage. what's the point? |

The woman who showed up to give the estimate was Teri.....I told her over and over and over and over and over and over again that we needed wardrobe boxes AHEAD OF TIME if we were going to do pre-packing. She never made that happen. I also made it CRYSTAL clear to her that her people would have to do some of he packing....some of it....I'd do most but they had to do some of the delicate stuff. This message was not communicated to the packers. When the packers arrived they had idea they were supposed to do any of the packing. I NEVER got the wardrobe boxes ahead of time even though I asked for them again and again. The packers themselves did a terrific job. The woman who came to give me the initial estimate, Teri, really dropped the ball. How can you emphasize something over and over, and then she forgets all about it. She really dropped the ball and that made the whole move much more difficult. I would not recommend this company since the administration/management staff has shown itself so incompetent. Although I want to stress again the the guys who showed up to do the moving were top-notch...hard working, moved quickly got things done and done right. All things together, this company does not belong on Angies List as "recommended". I would not recommend them to anyone. If the estimator doesn't communicate with the movers....then they've got some serious problems.
Description of Work: Moved most of my stuff from apartment to new house. They moved the larger pieces of furniture. However there was a HUGE misunderstanding between the person who provided the original estimate and the guys who showed up to make the move.

Shopping, but not hired. Quoted for job to be done within teh same home, no travel required. Gave prices per hour, but with a 2 hour minimum.....but then tacked on an extra hour rate to show up at the travel site, as well as gas money. As a business, you don't charge for someone just to show up to your job site. In addition, usage of moving truck was not needed. Possibility was there, however killed the deal with trying to price gouge the extra hour and fuel. TRavel time is an investment into your business, not a fee the person hiring should be responsible for.
Description of Work: Provider gave a ridiculous example of price gouging.

I apologize if you think that we as a company charging a travel time is price gouging. I can assure you its not. We have charged a standard 1 hour travel time and fuel anywhere in the bay area for the past 26 years we have been in business. This is standard with most other moving companies across the board. They may not call it a travel time, some say they charge from the time they leave their office until the time they get back, which means if they get caught in traffic then you have to pay for that. We only charge 30 minutes to get to you and 30 minutes to get back after we are finshed. We do our best to provide all of customers with the best service and we are sorry that you are so upset with us. If you do not believe our prices to be fair, I can understand that, but I can assure you that we are very competitive with our pricing against other reputable compainies and we in most cases are charging less than they are.

This company is unprofessional from top to bottom. When I got my estimate I explained to them that I needed a company to move some of my belongings to an apartment and most of my belongings to a storage unit. I was told by the salesman that in the storage unit would be organized so that I could retrieve any items that were needed easily via pathway through the unit. Because of my concerns that there would not be enough space I increased my storage unit from 20 x 20 to 20 x 30, which cost me approximately 200 more dollars for the three months I was using the unit. The first day I was provided with three men to help me pack up some of my belongings along with boxes and other packing materials. Two out of the three men who camewere extremely unprofessional. For example, they were overheard talking about making this a slow job. In addition there was a lot of cussing in front of my children. But I think the final insult was when one of the workers made the comment that he didn't know whether to p*** in the toilet or on the floor of the bathroom. I will admit that my home wasn't it top condition because I was moving and I have two boys who often miss the toilet. They made me feel ashamed of my home. I was charged several hundred dollars for a packing material. Imagine my disappointment when I discovered that some of the boxes were more than halfway filled with packing paper crumpled up. It wasn't that the paper was being used to cushion the rest of a heavy box, some of these paper filled boxes headlight items in the like Tupperware and plastic cups. In fact, there were other boxes filled with dishware and glasses that were extremely heavy and not cushioned as well as these lighter boxes. I also thought it was unnecessary that they would have to wrap individually each piece of plastic Tupperware. The next day they came and packed up the trucks. One truck was headed for my apartment and the other truck was to go to the storage unit. The two workers assigned to the truck going to my apartment were wonderful. I had no issues with them. However, the 2 movers for the truck going to my storage unit were another story. Unfortunately, they were the same two unprofessional guys who come to pack the day before. I went with the two menr over to my apartment to help them place things in the proper place. When I went to check the storage unit after the other two movies was had left, I discovered that there was no lane for my to access my belongings and about one third of the storage unit was empty. My furniture was thrown on top of each other haphazardly. Now let me tell you about the response I received from the management of this company. On the second day, as we were driving to the apartment / storage unit, I called the office to let them know my concerns about the wasted materials, the comments overheard about making this a slow job, and the lack of professionalism of the staff. I also called afterwards to let them know the condition of the storage unit and what had been promised. I sent some pictures as well. I was offered a meager $100 for my pain and suffering, not even enough to cover the extra cost renting the larger storage unit. I explained that I did not feel that that was adequate since I had been charged extra time for the packing of my home as well as charged for unnecessary materials. They said they would take this back to their management and get back with me. I called back three more times as late as a two months after the move happened and was told it was still with management. It is now 6 months later so I'm assuming there will be no compensation.
Description of Work: Sold me packing materials, helped with some of the packing and moved my belongings to an apartment or storage. I was going to use them again when my new home built-2 months later-but changed my mind about that after the first move.

I was in a pickle! I had to get a heavy 1930s wardrobe to a furniture refinisher and the only day she could take it was on a weekday - when all my friends with pickup trucks were unavailable. If I couldn't get the piece to the refinisher on that day, it would be two months before she had another opening in her schedule. After a dozen calls and no one available, I asked Richard of 3 Guys. He stepped in and stepped up! Got the wardrobe (which weighed a ton) to the refinisher and, when the job was done, went over to pick it up and return it. It's now back in my house and looking great - almost as good as 3 Guys Moving. Love ya!!

This was my first time using this mover and it went quite well. I called them at the end of May for a last minute emergency move for a client of mine (I'm a Realtor). Apparently the end of the month is their busiest time and they were booked solid. The sales guy told me they were booked up, but he could add my client to the end of a day as long as we were ok with them showing later. Of course we were ok with it, we had to get his stuff moved immediately. They called ahead of time on the move day and kept us informed as to when they would be there. The guys worked quickly and everything went smoothly.
Description of Work: Moved a clients belongings that had to be out immediately.

I was totally satisfied with their service. They were courteous and professional. It was two guys that did in 3 hours, what other companies would have taken 5 hours to do. They really had initiative. They did what I requested, and even suggested things on their own. They were really great and next time I move, I want to hire these guys again.
Description of Work: They unpacked boxes, assembled furniture, moved anything I wanted, assisted me with anything I needed.

They were amazing. They came under their quote. They were efficient. They didn't damage anything. They didn't take their time to be able to charge me more. They were very patient with me through the moving as well. Very good guys. Honest, and respectful. They unloaded moving pods for us. They even took time to help me turn my water on. John Flattery and Bobby Watkins were the movers. They were great and I would recommend using them.
