Tech was well over 4 hours late so I had to call several times to ask if he was even coming. Then he shows up, spends 30 mins on his phone in the truck and then comes inside (no greeting, no apology) and says " So you have three?" My husband and I were both taken aback by his rudeness. He laid down the cable and didn't bury it so we had to call BHN to get that taken care of. Basically, almost none of the Hotspots work outside of the home. This is probably the worst and most expensive Internet service I've ever had. I thought TIme Warner was pretty crap but this one beats them for more money. Absolutely terrible service and expensive. But our area is monopolized so for now, we're stuck. Not at all happy and wouldn't recommend.

They need to train their service reps better. I talked to a service rep one time that was so helpful. He showed me a system on the DVR where I can pick the shows that I want to watch, and time that we want to watch. When we switched to a new DVR, they said that they couldn't transfer the saved shows to it. It was the list and there is a way to do it. We went through four cable boxes, and none of the reps knew about it. They sent out the head of the tech department out and he knew what I was talking about. He said that they don't train the new guys on how to do it. If the option and the ability are out there, they should know about it. Everything else is great. I now know how to do it.

They did good service while I was in Tampa. If I had problems, I could call them and they'll have a technician out quickly. I had a friend who had used them and didn't like them, but I tried them.

Freddy showed up in the time frame allotted and worked incredibly efficiently and professionally to run the new cable needed for our main PC and then got everything up and running, including my husband's wireless PC & TV's. He didn't leave until everything - PC's and TV's were working perfectly!! I can't speak highly enough of not only Bright house but of Freddy too - what an asset they have!!
Description of Work: They installed a faster internet service; installed a new box in my husband's office and replaced the one in the family room so it included a DVR.

I heard about a deal and called them after we had already set up our service and they gave us the deal. They are really responsive if there is an outage or repair. They watch our email security too. There really isn't a whole lot of need for them to come out so that is good news.

I have filed complaints against the company with consumer protection agencies.
Description of Work: Bright House billed me for more than what it had indicated adding home security to my bundle would cost. Then refused a refund when I canceled the service. I had a very satisfying business relationship with Bright House for (11) years; never late; often complimentary of the company in surveys and in referrals to others. Since I agreed to add the home security system, that has all changed. I was told by the telemarketer who called that it would cost a little over $200 and I would pay in three installments, the first payment of $127.29 due at installation. I paid that first installment on 5/7/12. On 6/5/12, I paid the second installmenbt of $106.65 and on 7/5/12, after questioning the amount of the bill and it being reduced by 420, I paid $98.52 for a total of $332.46; $12.36 more than stated on the first written bill received for the equipment and about $100 more than first quoted when I agreed to have the system installed. Then, Bright House billed me an additional $112.20 for the equipment! The total bill was now $446.66. I canceled all services, turned in all equipment and requested a refund of the overpayment of $332.46. Instead, Bright House on September 10th sent to me a new bill, the same $172.52 that they claimed that I owed in the August 10th billing before I canceled services and turned in all of their equipment. I disputed the bill in writing and again requested my refund. Instead, a representative of the company wrote to me on October 1, 2012, stating that as a courtesy, they were removing the fee for the rear panel replacement kit and now would accept $60.03. Then, before I could respond, Credit Protection Association L.P. sent to me a collection letter, stating that Bright House had turned the account over to them to collect and I was to pay to them the $60.03 or risk additional reporting against my credit rating.

I've changed the cable box every 2-6 months for the last 3 years and all their equipment is old and refurbished. I've spent more than 2 hours on the phone in the last 20 hours trying to get service. I went to the office today to get a new box and now I don't have a signal. It takes at least 20 minutes to get a tech on the phone and though they are pleasant, they are unable to resolve anything other than the simplest problems. It 's impossible, literally, to speak to a supervisor. Others in my complex have the same issues, so it's not just me. Because BH service is part of our monthly fee, we can't get service through another carrier. BH cable tv DVR service is terrible. If you have a choice, go with DireTV, Verizon, or another provider.

I am happy with them. They are good and I haven’t had any issues with them. The only issue that I had was when my remote control device went out. So, I went to one of the stores in the mall where they have their office. They said that was not a problem and they said that I could take a new remote. There hasn’t been anybody who has ever complained about them too much. They are a monopoly around here. So, they kind of have us over the barrel, price wise. I enjoy their services. I have a service that has a DVR with it and I really enjoy that too. It’s a good company and their service is good. I don’t know if I have ever had an outage and I have always had their service. I had scheduled a day for the guy to come in, install the cable and make sure everything was all right. He was on time. He was very punctual and professional. He set up my TV, DVD player and my computer system. He also set up my network. He did a great job. Then they sent me a bill and I paid it. I have never had to call them for anything. The only incident I have ever had with their customer service was when I had to walk into the mall with my remote. So, there were no other problems. I pay $113 a month for their services and that includes high speed internet and high definition cable. I have been using their services since March. They are great.

We haven't been here long enough to know if they are a local company. We spend on a monthly basis. The last time we contacted them for a customer service issue was about 2 months ago. I don't like cable companies, but they were very good. They sent somebody right out. He came out when he said he would. He showed up approximately at the same time that he said he would and took care of everything very efficiently. Overall, we have been satisfied with them. We don’t know about the price. The people before us had them so we kept the same service because it was easier. We haven't looked for price so we don't know. They were very good on professionalism. We will continue to use them in the future because not only do they do a good job, it's a pain to switch.
