It took about an hour from accessing the issue to replacing the heating element in my dryer. David even showed me the broken part and explained the damage. He also vacuumed the lint trap and around the dryer. In doing his repair, he found what appeared to be a diamond earring wedged in the dryer. It's nice to know that this company has very honest employees, and they do good work. I would use again.

My husband went online and found a posting from someone with a similar problem. We ordered the part from a company in Jacksonville. The part came the next day, my husband installed it and the dishwasher has worked fine ever since. I would not hire this company again for two reasons: 1- the repairman was rude and couldn't be bothered to figure out what was wrong and 2- the second part that he was going to replace was perfectly fine.

I called and the company sent someone out right away. Luis came out and he stated he had to order a part. The part came in a few days later however the machine still did not work. Luis continued to service the machine until finally it was fixed. It took longer than HE and I expected however it was no fault of his. My machine had a mind of its own but Luis did not stop until he solved the mystery. The price was great and the company and Luis kept in touch with me to let me know what was going on. I would strongly recommend and will use them in the future. Thank you so much for the professionalism and great service.

Great knew what was wrong & quickly fixed the problem

.I let him go and decided to ask an electrician friend to help me check the circuit board resistors. We found one burned 15 amp resistor and replaced it at a cost of less than $15.00. The oven and micro have had hard daily use ever since. My feeling is they are taking serious advantage.

They came promptly. They presented nicely. They worked quickly and made the repair well. Price was fair - very pleased with this company.

Repair man arrived on time; very pleasant. He listened to the machine make its noise and told me immediately that I needed a new trunnion. I had never heard of this part before, and he explained that it was the part that held the tub/drum in place. He informed me that the part alone would cost over $600 and then there would be about 4 hours of labor involved on top of it. He advised that I purchase a new washer. He asked how old the machines were and I informed him they were less than 4 years old. He informed me he did not think much of LG and that if the dryer (stacked on top of the washer) was the same age, I would be well advised to replace it as well. I was heartsick, but listened to his recommendation to purchase Whirlpool. I did a lot of shopping and research online, trying to decide what to replace these with. Then, I decided that before I gave up on these machines, I would call LG directly. I obtained the name of their local factory authorized repair company and contacted them. They came out for a higher service call ($79.95), but imagine my surprise when they never said the trunnion needed replacement, but a couple of other items, including the tub itself and that it could all be done for $389 plus tax (including labor). They ordered the parts last week and today performed the repair. It pays to contact the manufacturer for their advice in who should service their items, particularly if you have higher end appliances. These were not inexpensive machines and I was horrified to think they would have to be replaced in less than 4 years.

My washing machine was only putting out hot water. I was wondering if it was a good idea to buy a new one or not. Larry came out and very quickly replaced the Solenoid valve. It now is like new again! I feel like he was very knowledgable about the machine and went above and beyond to get me up and running again! I would certainly call on this company again! The appointment was made and the machine was repaired within just a few hours. Thank you Larry!

We had our old washing machine and fridge serviced by one of their technicians. The fridge is working fine. The washing machine was more of a challenge. After taking the thing completely apart and checking all the parts the tech explained he had never seen anything like it before. He did the best he could. It worked well for 2 washings and on the third I found the washing machine walking out of the garage. That's when we decided it was time for a new machine (see Famous Tate eval.).

He was totally honest with us with the cost of the part and the repair.

They were prompt and very reasonable. The guy was very educated on the appliance. He was excellent at explaining it to me because I don't know the first thing about refrigerators. He gave me information that was very helpful. The service call was $50.

When I called on Tuesday - they were friendly and actually came out the same day. The technician was friendly & quickly diagnosed the problem being our dishwasher needing a new motherboard. He told me the price would be $260. I said that was fine and he said he'll see me by the end of the week. On Thursday afternoon I had still heard nothing back from them. I called them & they informed me the part is more expensive then what he quoted and that they'll have to "get back to me" for a new price. Friday (end of week) no one has called AGAIN - so I call and they inform me the price will be $380 and do I want them to order it for me? I was under the impression it was ordered on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning? They offered no discounts for their error. Very unprofessional in my opinion. I won't be using them again.

Bob explained to me that the motor was burned up on the ice maker and told me the price for a new one. I called my partner to talk to him about it because it seemed high and we talked about replacing the refrigerator. We decided to go ahead and replace the ice maker because the refrigerator was only 5-6 years old. After the repairman left, I went online to look at the average cost to replace the ice maker for the type of refrigerator that we had and after seeing that the average cost was less than $100 but the part and labor of less than 1/2 hr to replace the part was $250 even after $20 discount for being an Angie's List member. Not sure I would use them in the future.

It was the morning I was to leave the country on a trip and I expected my clothes to be ready for the dryer so I could start packing, BUT I realized the washing machine was full of water and wet clothes but not working. I could not leave the water and clothes like that while I was gone. Freaking out, I called them at 7:45am and she was amazing. I explained I was leaving on a plane in a few hours and she reassured me they would get there in time. I hand washed the clothes while I waited but still had a washer full of sitting water. Well they did make it in time! I was able to leave with a working washing machine so that my house-sitter could use it and I was worry-free. The technician was so friendly and efficient. Thank you all so much!!!!!

Service was promised promptly, arrived as promised, diagnosed problem and discussed pros and cons, had repair parts with him and fixed it within the hour. Cannot and will not ask for more.

He diagnosed the problem quickly,and the replacement part was available on the truck.The new part was installed in a timely manner and my kitchen was left neat and clean! Better Homes has also repaired my washing machine (withih the past half year) and repaired my dryer on two occasions. I have been completely satisfied with the workmanship every time!

Water on the kitchen floor was the first indication that something was very wrong with our refrigerator. I traced the source of the water and realized that ice in the ice dispenser was melting because the freezer wasn't cold. Only the day before I had done shopping for the ENTIRE month and the fridge and freezer were both packed with food. This was 2:00pm on a Saturday. Where was I going to find someone who could fix this before the end of the day? I logged on to Angie's List in a panic, and found Better Homes A/C. As I dialed, I prayed that they would be able to fit me in the same day. Lynn answered the phone and I immediately liked her professionalism. It's really nice, when calling service companies, to hear a friendly, helpful voice on the other end. I especially liked that when I asked about the likelihood that they'd be able to come by today (Note : This was 2:15pm on Sat and per Angie List info, they were scheduled to close at 4:00pm), instead of guessing, she asked politely if I could hold while she checked with the Technician who was out on a call. Luckily God was on my side, and Lynn assured me that while she couldn't give me an exact time, the Technician would be at my home before 5:00pm that day. At around 3:30pm the Technician (Jim) showed up. With my entire month's food supply on the line, I don't think I've ever been so grateful to see anyone in my life. He diagnosed the problem. A broken cooling fan. He installed a new evaporator cooling unit fan motor kit. Verified that it was working, and that the fridge was cooling properly and YAY!! my fridge was fixed and my family's food supply for the month was saved. Thank God!!! and thanks to Better Home A/C & Appliance Service. They did an outstanding job. I was very impressed with their responsiveness and I'd be happy to recommend them.

They were able to get a tech to our home day after we called, so that was good. The provided accurate assessment of the problem, but had to order parts. The tech was punctual, friendly and qualified on both visits. BUT, I didn't hear from them, so 2 days after first visit, I called them asking when parts would be in and when to expect completion of repair. They told me their parts person was out, but would leave a message for them and they would call us back with ETA the next day. NEVER got that call. Five days later, got a call that parts were in and that they could complete repairs the next day. Again, the tech was punctual (early in-fact), friendly and the repairs he performed resolved the problem with our washer. The price they'd quoted was honored and they also honored the Angie's List coupon, which saved us $20. After the tech left, however, we discovered a stain on our carpet from water that had drained during repairs; he used no drop cloths. Also found dirty, grimy hand-prints all over adjoining walls, light switches, doors and trim. The washer sits in a closet and we found deep, 1/4" gouges in the custom wood threshold where he'd drug the washer over it.

"My wife called for service b/c washing machine was not working. Since I was at work I could not take a look at it first. Repairman told her the pump was burned out and needed to be replaced. He requested a check as a deposit on the pump for over $500. When I came home from work my wife told me this and I went to inspect the washer. I'm no appliance technician but when I ran the unit I could hear the pump activating. I disconnected the discharge hose and found it partially clogged with wet lint. after clearing that I found the pump emptied the machine. My feeling is that troubleshooting step was fairly simple and any tech should check the simple before deciding a new pump was needed. I called the company and told them my experience - - to their credit the agreed to cancel the order and not charge me for the visit. They did state he was a "good tech" and they thought my experience was unique. Last night my wife told me the spin cycle is slow, and hasn't really been working properly since I "fixed" the discharge hose. I took another look, and upon dissembling the lower cover of the unit I found, next to the pump, a connector cover designed to be unscrewed and cleared of debris. Guess what - - it was full of lint, some quarters, and some plastic. It's very clear this connector is there by design for a technician to access and clear blockage. I can't imagine a qualified tech not being fully aware of this, and I can't imagine checking this connector not being Step # 1 in troubleshooting a washer that fails to pump out water. So I conclude this company would have ripped me off if I was not wiling to spend time trying to figure out the problem myself. In looking at reviews on this company, I wonder how many of the $100, $200, and higher repairs I see with "A" ratings were really necessary.

I do not like to give less than an "A" to anyone, so I will explain. Service man came out to my rental home the same day I called and was promt with their appointment time (which was excellent). He was unable to give me a cost for the part until the next day - on 7/30/13 he called and told me the part may take appx 1 week and will cost $373. I mentioned the $20 Angies List coupon so he said yes, then it will be $353 and they would charge my credit card on file. I did not hear from them since 7/30. I called today, 8/8, to confirm all work was done (which I assumed it was since I didn't hear from my tenants). They confirmed the work was done and I was charged $399 to my credit card (to my suprise). They quickly fixed the error for the $20 Angies' List discount but I still paid $379 instead of $353. The difference was tax that I was not quoted. While this is minor and understandable had I known such in advance, I find it unprofessional to get the authorization to do a repair for $353 and then charge the client $399 without notification. Just make sure to get your estimate in writing. I think it was just poor communication with the technician but everyone was very helpful, quickly responded & repaired my problem. I would only use them in the future with an estimate in writing.

He looked at it and told my son that he would figure out what was wrong with it. He called after he had already deposited my $49 service fee. He said that it was all iced up in the back and needed a new mother board. He told me that he didn't defrost it. I blow dried the unit to defrost it and it has worked fine ever since. I called the company and they said, "Sorry," but didn't offer to do anything about it.
