I have had a maintenance agreement with BaySide for several years. They come out every 6 months and look at my units. Pros: They are nice, scheduling is easy, prompt in responding to problems Cons: the maintenance done is minimal and they usually find something to sell you I just had "service" in September. Technician looked at my small unit, said it looked good and performed no maintenance. He looked at my larger unit and told me I had a leak and did no maintenance. He mentioned my warranty but when I asked how much it would cost he told me $3500. He recommended that I just replace. I started moving forward with the plan to replace then took a closer look at my warranty. When the contractors showed up to replace, I had 2nd thoughts. I questioned how much it would cost WITH the warranty. The cost to fix leak and replace fan motor with warranty: $1500. Not sure why they quoted me $3500. I decided not to replace. I contacted another company for a 2nd opinion. They found no leak and no problem with my fan motor. They performed complete maintenance on my two units (something that Bayside had not done in at least the last 2 visits). I am very disappointed in this company. I trusted them and they let me down.

The tech was 2 hours late. When he got here he didn’t apologize and was very sick. My son has a condition where it’s dangerous for him to be exposed to illness. The tech proceed to bark into his cell phone the.n rang the doorbell . He reamed me out because I have a shelf in the garage in front of where the AC unit is. He said, “I’m moving this but I’m not putting it back and your shelf was already broken...I didn’t do it”. I asked if he’d like for me to move something and he walked away from me muttering. I am cancelling my contract with this company and will not use them again. The owner contacted me and explained why the tech was impolite, and apologized and refunded a service fee that was charged in error.

We've put in a call to this customer, and waiting to hear back. Not sure about being 2 hours late though since we can never offer exact times, not knowing how long previous calls will take to repair. We offer times between 9-12, or 12-5. We do ask customers to make the equipment available to the technician by moving any shelves or storage items in front of their system to access for repair. The technician did express and apologized that he was a little under the weather and didn't want to shake her hand and possibly spread what ever was ailing him. Will follow up with more information once customer is contacted. Customer never called back, but after further investigation, we found out she had talked to the service manager and was very upset that the technician who arrived was a little under the weather. Understandably, concerned for her son. The manger did apologize, and told her that if she was that uncomfortable with the situation, we would have been happy to send someone else out. The technician did inform her though, that he was a little under the weather, and never went into the house since the repair was in the garage. She's been a long time customer who has been very happy with us and always left great reviews on Angie's in the past. We still wish to hear from her, and hope to work things out. Customer did call me back and we had a great conversation, and a much better understanding. She assured me she would amend her grade to a more favorable one.

Originally I had a not so nice review listed with the grade to match due to some unfortunate circumstances. Regardless, I want to say that although the 1st time around the job wasn't completely properly, the company has gone above and beyond to right their wrongs. Both management and the owner of this company have worked with me directly and diligently. Mistakes happen and it's unfortunate, but what proves the worth of any company is how those mistakes are handled. In this case, Bayside went above and beyond to make sure my satisfaction was nothing less than 100%. I appreciate their attention to this issue. I appreciate very much their hard work and dedication to me as their client. I will use them again in the future.

SCAM, NO INTEGRITY Paid them to MAINTAIN my old a/c and change. THEY DID NOT DO ANYTHING, not even check my coil or change my filter. I was not available during that time and had someone home to open the door so I couldn’t check what he did). The tech SAID my coil was dirty and needed to be change. He also told me that his assessment showed that my a/c is in bad shape and needs to to be change, just because it’s more than 10 years old. When I came home I saw that my a/c filter was This company is a SCAM, NO INTEGRITY!!!. My a/c is over 10 yeArs of age so I wanted to make sure it still runs well. Paid them to tune up my a/c and change my filter and sanitation. and they did not do anything, not even check my coil or change my filter. I was not available during that time and had someone home to open the door so I couldn’t check what he did). The tech told me that my coil was dirty and needed to be change. He also told me that his assessment showed that my a/c is in bad shape and need to be change. When I came home I saw that my a/c filter was FILTHY DIRTY. They tried to sell me an A/C. I got a second opinion from CORNERSTONE AC COMPANY who told me that my a/c was FINE and all I needed was minor repairs. CORNERSTONE AC also showed me that my coil was spanking new!!

When we originally spoke to the customer and set up the appointment she explicitly told us she didn't want our reusable filter. She told us that she heard they were not efficient, so the tech was instructed not to install it. This system is over 15 years old and still uses the old R-22 freon which is soon to be obsolete. We never recommended replacing the coil only cleaning it. She also just bought the home 2 weeks prior to our inspection and was unaware of any previous history or problems with the old system. The unit was directly under a tree, so was full of leaves, dirt, and debris., and yes the outdoor coil was dirty. So yes it did need cleaning. I think the customer is confused between the indoor and outdoor coil. The tech spoke to her on the phone for over 30 minutes, and tried to fully explain everything. The cooling temperature drop of the system was only 14 deg, when it should be 18-20, and had very poor airflow into the home. The tech did tell her to consider replacing the system, rather than spending money on it due to the age, condition, poor temperature drop, and that it still used R-22 freon, Based on pressures, the system was low on R-22 freon. I don't know how her A/C would be fine if it needed repairs as she stated in her response. We would never ask a customer to spend money on a 15 year old leaking system w/out first giving them all the information,allowing them to make a decision to repair or replace a faulty system. According to her when we spoke, the other company told her everything was fine, when it was not. If it was no repairs would have been needed and done. We do wish this new home owner luck with their system, but unfortunately believe band aids have been applied as a temporary fix, with the problems still remaining.

Prior to hiring Bayside , I called three other companies they either made an appointment and didn't show or they just didn't seem to be interested in my business . Bayside was appreciative of my business. They had someone available to come out right away. The service was excellent, the technician, Justin, was on time, knowledgable, personable and answered all my questions. They also had a first-time customer special which I am always thankful when I can save money. Carol called me after the fact to be sure I was happy with the service. So they also have excellent customer service. I highly recommend this company.

My wife and Ifound Bayside Heating and Air Conditioning service calls to be a nearly endless sales pitch for add-on products and services beyond typical service work. When we replaced our system this year, the contractor who replaced it noted that most of the maintenance work was not done correctly or was done incompletely (without knowing who performed the work). I do not recommend using Bayside due to this and their pricing which is above market.

We're a little confused by this post since the only thing ever done here was a cleaning on a a system that was over 12 years old. Originally they purchased a 2 year maintenance agreement with a free 3rd year promotion, and then decided to purchase their new system from someone else. Original system was in very poor condition. It was very dirty, the outdoor unit was deteriorating, and the system running very inefficiently . We provided good service to this customer, but they were always unhappy with any findings of concern and refused to listen to any recommendations. They wanted a clean bill of health every time, and if not we were to blame. Finally they did have to replace it and went with others for a cheaper price. They called yesterday wanting a refund on the last maintenance visit on their free year. We explained we can not give a refund on their free maintenance, but would would be happy to continue the service on their new system, in which they refused. Obviously resulting in this negative post. We hope they are happy with their new service provider. We on the other hand, are happy they chose to go elsewhere.

Inspection was done than they sent another person. He adjusted something outside and added Freon. Said everything else was ok except ducts needed cleaned and some coils needed cleaned but that it could wait till next year when I got income tax return. Less than a month later, when I came home from vacation, my dining room ceiling was damaged from a leak. Sent same person out who said the coils needed replaced for over $1,200. + filter ? for over 250 + Freon for over $380 + other expenses of approx. 150 Total over $1900 was told this amount did not include labor because they forgot to add it. That discount could be used for my ceiling. Johnny tried to pass the buck and said the drip pan wasn't installed properly by the original people. Since the safety shut off, which they said was ok, is attached to the pan, why did he not say that the pan needed fixed on original check? Had them order parts on a Wed. They said would be in Monday. Monday I called another company to check on price of parts and to see if I did get over a $300 discount and guess what, the other co. was cheaper and would have the part by next day and install by Wed. Finally heard from Bayside on Tues and I told them I hired someone else and wanted to talk to Tom the owner about my ceiling. It took 3 days for him to call me and he denies all responsibility for ceiling. Bad company!!!!!

There are many untruths in this report. On 6/24 we were called out for a $ 49 routine checkup. The maintenance technician discovered the system not operating properly and referred it over to service for diagnosis at no further cost. The service technician discovered coils very dirty and impacted, and recommended having therm cleaned. The daughter who was co-owner according to the customer, asked if it could wait until she received her tax return. The tech told her it could, but the system would not function efficiently. 7/25 the customer called in for a water spot on ceiling. The dispatcher offered to send tech out immediately, again at no charge. Customer refused saying their leaving for vacation and it would have to wait. When she was confronted with this information her reply was, that it must of been her daughter, and she didn't know about it. 7/31 customer call in for water leaking on ceiling. Tech discovers system frozen up and low on freon. Melting ice had leaked through system and emergency pan improperly installed by other company causing damage to ceiling. Tech call in to check on availability and warranty status. Coil warranty had expired since they were not the original owner of the system. Per factory rules warranty reverts back to 5 years from 10 for second owner. Customer asked us to use old owners name to take advantage of warranty. When we explained we could not do this, that it was illegal, she became irritated told us the other company who installed would, and she will call them to get it done under warranty since we would not. Friday 8/2 calls back and wants us to do coil at quoted price. Dispatcher told her she would call to schedule as soon as she had the coil. Tuesday 8/6 we call her letting her know we received the coil and we were coming out to complete repair that day. She informs us she had it done by others. Never letting us know to cancel coil or repair. Later that week customer calls demanding we repair her ceiling. That we should have known her coils was going to leak since there was some rust on it. Almost all coils have some rust on them due to a wet environment. Leaks can not be predicted because of surface rust. First off, there was no leak in the coil when we originally diagnosed a dirty coil. Secondly, when she did call for service more that 30 days from our last visit, when the water leak first began they didn't want service because they were leaving on vacation. Lastly her coil leak is totally unrelated to any work we did, and past the 30 day guarantee, but insists we are still responsible. This customer says we a bad company. Our reviews and reputation say otherwise. This is a bad customer, who's rude, demanding, and takes no responsibility for their own lack of action when the problem first started allowing it became worse. According to the technician , they had just returned from vacation and based on his opinion, by the amount of water damage, they allowed the unit to continually run despite the fact they knew the system was leaking prior to leaving.

We have used Bayside Heating and AC for many years and currently have a maintenance agreement with them. when it is time for maintenance they will call and schedule a time to come out. the Service Technician, Doug, was friendly and professional. He recommend we have system cleaned to keep the unit running smoothly. Because it is an older unit we felt it would be a good investment. We appreciate their honesty and continue to be happy with Bayside Heating and AC.
