THE CREW THAT DID THE CLEANING AND SANITIZING OF YOUR AIR DUCT SYSTEM REPORTED BACK WHAT A PLEASURE IT WAS WORKING IN YOUR HOME. ONE SUGGESTION WE MIGHT MAKE NOW THAT EVERYTHING IS FRESH AND CLEAN, IS TO KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON THE FILTERS. THEY SHOULD BE CLEANED OR REPLACED AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH. A COUPLE OF LITTLE MAINTENANCE TIPS FOR THE OTHER HOMEOWNERS READING THIS. TO PREVENT CLOGGED DRAIN LINES TRY BACK FLUSHING THE LINE WITH A WATER HOSE EACH MONTH, ESPECIALLY DURING THE SUMMER. JUST LOCATE THE DRAIN LINE OUTSIDE AND PLACE THE WATER HOSE ON THE END AND WRAP YOUR HAND AROUND THE SEAM TO FORCE WATER UP IN THE DRAIN LINE. LEAVE IT ON FOR THREE TO FIVE SECONDS TO BREAK LOOSE ANY BUILD UP(LESS TIME FOR SHORTER LINES) AND REMOVE TO LET WATER AND SLUDGE DRAIN FROM THE LINE. KEEP REPEATING UNTIL YOU GET CLEAR WATER DRAINING FROM THE LINE. CAUTION- DO NOT LEAVE HOSE ON LONG ENOUGH TO PUSH WATER UP INTO AIR HANDLER! A WET VAC WILL DO A BETTER JOB IF AVAILABLE BUT SOMETIME A GARDEN HOSE IS MORE CONVENIENT. IF YOU HAVE A CLEAN OUT T NEAR THE AIR HANDLER, A CUP OF BLEACH OR VINEGAR POURED INTO THE LINE ONCE A MONTH WILL HELP KEEP IT DRAINING PROPERLY. THESE ARE JUST A FEW SUGGESTIONS THAT CAN AVOID YOUR SYSTEM GOING DOWN DURING THE HEAT OF SUMMER AND IT MAY PREVENT COSTLY FLOOR OR CEILING DAMAGE. Description of Work: Our central air had been previously "repaired" by another service company for around $225, it totally died within 30 days of that repair. We had been without "air" for almost 3 months during which time we tried repeatedly to contact the repair guy who would not return our phone calls or communicate with us in any way. After checking Angie's list, I called BAYSIDE. WOW! Kieth was out here in less than an hour. (It was the slow season,) he explained everything he was doing and was concerned with how much it might cost me because of the time he estimated it was going to take to complete the job. He recommended that we get new wiring from the compressor up to the air handler before turning the unit back on. He installed a new transformer and told me that the one installed previously was not properly wired. Kieth was a superlative representative of excellence in both workmanship and demeanor. I will rely on BAYSIDE from now. I recommend them highly.
