I was overcharged for the first service call($180.00), I emailed Tom Provatas about it and he was very quick in responding to me. He agreed that I was over charge(because I have a service contract with Bayside)and talked with the first Tech about it and is returning my check, he had Jennifer call me with the correct amount to pay which was $80. Service contract customers get a special rate. I am very happy with Tom's great customer service. Jennifer is great too, she is expediting in getting the blower delivered and installed asap..Thank You Bayside..You all are great..
Description of Work: The blower for my Trane A/C system stopped working over the weekend, service tech came out and changed the setting on the blower, fixed the problem. The next day, the same thing happened, another tech came and changed the setting again, he also put in an order to replace the blower. The second service call was no charge.

The installation of the heat pump was completed in one day as promised. The frame for the filter was missing, and was installed a week later. The workers were polite and worked virtually non-stop until the job was completed. I have not experienced any problems with the new unit. The county inspectors came to check on the work today and everything was done correctly and up to code.
Description of Work: I had a new heat pump with a 3 ton air handler and a hepa purification filter installed to replace an old gas furnace.

I am very pleased with the work. The estimator was experienced and knowledgeable; the office staff I talked to by phone were very efficient and prompt with returning calls; the workmen worked all day on the project which was complicated by the need for relocating ductwork and wiring (which of course added to the cost of the job); and the electrician did a good job. The only snag was that the Bayside workers left a wire loose in the junction box, which left me without power to my oven for a while. Bayside promptly fixed this after I called. Also, a relocated circuit breaker was not in tight enough and caused the A/C to cut off once. Luckily, the electrician was coming the next day as scheduled, and I had him check out and tighten everything. Points to remember: 1. When job is finished, make sure that your oven and all other appliances have power; 2. Ask about filters and the maintenance you need to perform; and 3. Ask whether a new thermostat will be programmable.
Description of Work: My old system installed in 1990 in my 2300 sq ft house built in 1979 was laboring so I called Bayside, knowing that I needed a new system. Their representative came by and gave me the estimate. Two Bayside employees arrived the next day and worked several hours to install a 4-ton Trane heat pump outside and a 4-ton Trane air handler inside the garage. They disassembled and removed the old air handler from a narrow space in the attic. (Whose brilliant idea was it to ever put air handlers in attics in Florida?) The relocation of the air handler necessitated some ductwork relocation. The work also necessitated some changes in my circuit breaker box, which the Bayside employees did. They also replaced the original thermostat with a nonprogrammable electronic digital heat pump thermostat. The system was up and running when they left. The job also required replacing some aluminum wiring with copper wiring, which was done a few days later by an electrician.

WHEN WE HAVE TO MOVE AN OLD AIR HANDLER FROM A TIGHT, ATTIC TO A DOWNSTAIRS LOCATION IT IS A LOT OF ADDITIONAL MATERIAL, LABOR, AND EXPENSE. IN THE LONG RUN THOUGH MOST CUSTOMERS FEEL IT IS WORTH IT BECAUSE THE UNIT IS MUCH EASIER TO KEEP CLEAN AND SERVICED AND IT RUNS MUCH MORE EFFICIENTLY THAN IN 125 DEGREE ATTIC. They did a fantastic job and showed me the points so I could see the damage. Job 2: It was an emergency call when I was getting no cooling. I called them at about 1:00 AM Saturday morning. They were out at my house by 9:30 AM. They found that lightning damage had damaged a circuit breaker in the main panel. They had the part and they fixed it!
Description of Work: I found this company through Angie's List. I have a service contract with them. On March 20th, they did a full system check and discovered that the relay for the compressor was almost burned out. They brought it to my attention and fixed it, which avoided later problems.

They were out on time for the estimate, and even called before coming out. I would recommend them out to other people. They even gave me a discount for doing the UV light and the duct work at the same time.
Description of Work: They installed a new UV light to kill the mold. They also upgraded my air duct system in order to satisfy the legal requirement for the state of Florida. I was told it is mold resistant duct work which will prevent me from ever having mold again.

It was a big job. They were fast, professional, friendly, and most importantly, they knew what they were doing and did it. They didn't fool around. I would recommend them to anyone. They truly were fantastic. The men who worked here (Shawn and Darren) were fantastic, extremely knowledgeable and knew what they were doing and did it quickly and efficiently. I am very happy with my new system. The air flow throughout the house seems much better and I can regulate the temperature so much better with the digital thermostats. It remains to be seen what my operating costs will be, but I am hoping for a significant savings. I have lots of confidence in Bayside and will continue to have an annual maintenance contract with them. I really appreciate not being oversold on a system I don't need. It's certainly a rare occurrence these days. I think Tom values customer service and satisfaction far more than can be found elsewhere and instills that in his team. My thanks to Tom, Justin, and Jimmy Rogers who did the initial estimate, for a great customer experience.
Description of Work: After months of getting estimates and "thinking about it," I finally replaced my 10 year old moldy and expensive heating and air conditioning system with a new Trane system. I had decided on one of the higher end units with all the bells and whistles and "rebates", but Tom convinced me that I could be perfectly happy with a less expensive yet totally effective arrangement. The technician, Justin, did all the installation work himself in one day. He did come back the next day to sanitize the air ducts but I had my new air working the first day. The garage was a disaster during the job, but spotless at the end of the day. I had been having a problem with airflow balance in the house and Justin checked the ducts in the attic as well as the vents in each of the rooms. As an added touch, on his way out after finishing the job, he whacked off a giant seed pod from one of my palm trees just as it was beginning to shed. Thank you Justin!

It has been a while since the system went in. It is very distressing that we have had continued AC issues in the house. Their sales guy, Jimmy, came out and he said something very important to us, ''We will take care of any problems''...and we believed him. The installation was great. We made them critically, primarily and pivotally aware that one room ran hot. We told them that before they started. After they came out a few times to address it, they started to be not be too keen with us. Then, they had the unbelievable nerve to charge us for other ''solutions''. They had more solutions to charge us with too! The room still runs hot. Then, our finished attic room gets no air. They again then had the incredible nerve to charge us for ''fixing'' that problem - of which they created. It is still not right and it is still extremely distressing. We currently have a very bad odor generated by the AC - from the cutting edge, brand new unit they recommended.
Description of Work: Whole new system. Totally new outside and attached to interior duct control system inside. They installed the best and brightest cutting edge units - at their recommendation. New thermostat. Big job. I interviewed and met with many company's before hiring them. They were high with Angie's list so I hired them for a big, big buck project. I am pulling the price by memory here.

THE CUSTOMER AGREED. 2/3/05 CUSTOMER COMPLAINED OF POOR COOLING. FOUND EXISTING ZONE SYSTEM NOT OPERATING. REPAIRED ZONE SYSTEM AT NO CHARGE TO CUSTOMER. 3/4/05 CALLED IN FOR POOR COOLING. CUSTOMER INSISTED ON MORE COOLING IN UTILITY ROOM. NEGOTIATED PRICE FOR DUCT RUN FROM $300 TO $100 TO SATISFY CUSTOMER. AGAIN AN EXISTING SITUATION NOT RELATED TO INSTALL. ALL IN ALL, 7 FREE SERVICE CALLS WHERE RUN TO TRY AND SATISFY THIS MOST DIFFICULT CUSTOMER. THIS CUSTOMER BELIEVES THAT SINCE WE INSTALLED THEIR A/C SYSTEM, THAT WE SHOULD MAKE ANY REPAIRS REGARDING THEIR A/C SYSTEM AT NO CHARGE, REGARDLESS IF THEY CONTRACTED FOR IT, OR UNDER WARRANTY. Overall, the installation went well. I have not had a need to use it much due to the cooler weather but appears to work fine. Now waiting to get the inspection signed off. My only question was that when discussing it at the time of the service call, I was under the impression that the thermostat would be the same type as I had, which was programmable for different times of day, (although the one I had did not seem to work properly that way, which is why I wanted it replaced), but it was just a basic digital thermostat, with only one setting available. I have not had a chance to talk to the company about it yet. Also, I need to speak with them regarding the warranty and service contract - they did not leave any paperwork alluding to this and how it works. Overall, the work went fine.
Description of Work: My compressor had stopped working and I was told by Bayside that I would need a new compressor even though they got it working again, but at 10 years of age it had a short life expectancy. They gave me the estimate of $3665 which included an Angie's List discount of 10-15%. They also told me it would include a new thermostat and a one year service contract. I can't remember the technician who came out to give me the estimate but he seemed very knowledgeable and not pushy. Even though the A/C was working again, and after discussion with friends more knowledgeable, I elected to proceed to do the replacement to avoid possibility of it breaking down in the summer time. The estimate was in mid December and I waited until the first of the year and they honored the same quote. They came and completed the work efficiently and on time when the appointment was set.

I am very pleased with the prompt service I have received when I have called Bayside. This was my second time using them and both times Larry did a great job. They give an Angie's list discount for service calls.
Description of Work: Larry arrived on time at 9:00 am per my appointment and went right to work to repair my heat pump that was not working. He quickly found the problem, a broken wire outside in the compressor. He had it fixed quickly and I had heat.

We called a second company to inspect, and were told nothing was wrong. That seemed too far fetched, so we asked Progress Energy to do an inspection. They, too, said they found everything functioning properly and cited no repairs needed to the ductwork, and the 4-year old air handler was in very good condition. As a backup, they suggested we contact a duct specialist to make a thorough inspection. We did, and they, too, said no problems whatsoever, and no repairs necessary.
Description of Work: Inspection of complete A/C system per contract. Contract owned by previous owner and transferred to us. Gave us diagnosis that duct work was "deteriorated" and must be completely replaced, plus we had mold in air handler that was going to ruin our air quality. They quoted price to fix with our special discount at $3,295. Having just purchased and moved into the house 1 week prior to this inspection, and having had a required home inspection completed for the purchase where no problems were cited, we opted to get other inspections before committing to the repairs.

THE TECHNICIAN THAT WAS OUT THAT DAY IS A FAMILY MAN WITH THREE YOUNG CHILDREN. WE FEEL IT IS UNFORTUNATE THIS CUSTOMER WOULD CHOOSE TO JEOPARDIZE HIS JOB AND REPUTATION WITHOUT EVEN CALLING THE OFFICE FIRST. HE HAS BEEN WITH US FOR ABOUT 4 YEARS NOW AND HAS RAN OVER 4.500 SERVICE CALLS WITH OUT EVER RECEIVING A COMPLAINT SUCH AS THIS. HE TOLD US THIS CUSTOMER WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE DIRTY VENTS AND BLACK STREAKS ON THE CEILING, BECAUSE HER HUSBAND HAD BAD ALLERGIES, AND THEY HAD JUST MOVED INTO THE HOUSE. THEY DISCUSSED CLEANING THE 20 YEAR OLD DUCTS, BUT SHE DIDN'T SEEM INTERESTED IN THAT BECAUSE SHE HAD SEEN CHUNKS OF FIBERGLASS INSULATION COMING OUT OF THE VENTS, WATER DRIPPING FROM ONE OF THE GRILLS, AND HAD NOTED POOR AIR FLOW TO THE FAR SIDE OF THE HOUSE. SHE THEN ASKED THE TECHNICIAN TO GIVE HER A QUOTE TO REPLACE THE OLD FIBERGLASS DUCT BOARD INSTEAD OF CLEANING IT, WHICH HE DID BEFORE LEAVING. HE ALSO TOLD US THIS CUSTOMER SEEMED TO BE VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE PREVIOUS HOMEOWNER, OTHER SERVICE COMPANIES, ETC. WE HAVE NOTED IN OUR FILES TO CAREFULLY DOCUMENT EVERYTHING IN WRITING IF WE SHOULD EVER BE CALLED TO SERVICE THIS CUSTOMER AGAIN AND WE HAVE NOTIFIED OTHER SERVICE PROVIDERS IN THE AREA THAT THEY MAY WANT TO DO THE SAME.

Very well. Came right out, did what they said they would do (promptly and with good workmanship) for the agreed upon price. Salesman offered several good tips on Florida rodent control.

Best AC experience I have had. Price was exceptional, service was even better. Starting with the lady who booked the appointment and provided excellent customer service to the technician who did the work, a wonderful job. We are moving to Pasco and they will do all my AC work there in the future.
Description of Work: Did a full servicing of my AC unit that included cleaning my AC filter, replacing my return filters, checking duct work, adding freon to system, etc.

Our A/C unit was not draining and began leaking from the attic to the front of the house. We called Bayside and got a service call promptly the next day. The technician, Mr. Roger, was prompt, professional, extremely polite and very informative. He quickly determined that the problem was clogged ducts due to recent construction projects and that all the unit needed was routine maintenance. He offered us a maintenance contract and when we signed up, the maintenance call fee was waived and the price included in the contract. As a bonus, when we mentioned that we had recently experienced problems with rats, Mr. Roger correctly identified the problem to overgrown palm trees attracting rodents to our attic. We had the trees trimmed and our problem has been solved. We will definitely recommend Bayside to anyone who asks!

I had called to get a routine a/c service and cleaning. The guy who came out said that the 20 year old air handler was full of mold and needed to be replaced. I had no doubt he was right, although his approach was pretty hard-sell. He said my electric bill would go down 25%, and it would be much colder in my house. Neither of these turned out to be true. He was a nice guy, and I kept saying, ''You've made the sale!'' I said I wanted to think about it, but he pushed me to have it done the next day. But it worked out fine, and it turned out I was glad to have it taken care of. To his credit, he didn't try to sell me the outside unit. The installer was fantastic and took his time to get it done exactly right. It's somewhat of a conflict of interest to have the technician also be in sales, but I know that's how all a/c companies do it. The price is about the same as a quote I'd gotten from another company, and Bayside was more professional. I will use them again.

They scheduled me for the next day when I called. That morning they called to see if it was ok to come early. Every single person I dealt with was friendly and knowledgeable. The maintenance, cleaning, and installation was done with incredible expertise and it was a pleasure using them. They are definitely who I will use from now on!

Our air handler caught on fire. We were desperate for air. When we called they sent someone out within a few hours. We had all new ducts and a new unit installer. They were wonderful to work with. They guys who did the work were great. They spent two whole days working in our hot attic. We really appreciate all they did for us.
